The bullied child smacks bully video. The teacher taking his time before telling him to stop. Things sure have changed since I was young. I’m not against people standing up for themselves. I’ve seen others stand up to their bully in this manner & usually the bully never attacks the same individual after getting their ass handed to them. But. WOW. Smacked that bully with the strength of all who’ve been in that unenviable position.
Someone should have intervened way quicker than that. Are we going to have to have security guards in all classrooms or something? That one female student was smirking and got out of the way. If I was in that class I would be scared and asking the teacher or ANY adult to step the f*ck in and do something. Nope. Let’s all get out our phones and record it instead.
Ha, that’s a laugh! One time in high school, some kid stepped up trying to get me out of “his seat.” I told him where to go and he kept at it, so I stood up to defend myself. Before I could react, dude grabbed one hand and spun me round to grab the other, also bending me over the desk in the process. I’ll never forget looking over and watching the teacher at his desk, sat there reading the paper and doing fuck all while this was going on. I struggled and started kicking up, trying to connect with that one crucial part. After a couple minutes, the kid let me go and put out his hand. I guess he admired that I stepped up. I just gave him stink eye and sat back down. This was about the point that our fearless teacher decided to come out from behind his paper and start teaching.
Then again, this teacher didn’t seem to like me much. I was the quiet goth girl who didn’t talk much and doodled alongside my class notes during lecture. Even if he’d been inclined to intervene, I wasn’t one of his preppy favourites so he didn’t.
When I was in school teachers rarely ever stepped in when fights broke out. Even when they were standing right next to it they took their sweet time before they did anything. I have even seen teachers watching fights along side the other kids smh. I think there must be some secret guide line among teachers or something, I can’t imagine they’re all just that indifferent.
Video won’t play right for me. My mom always said not to fight and I never did. And people kept picking on me all my life cause I never stood up for myself. I have a hard time doing it even now. I’m glad he hit that bully, hopefully that still stop it.
I’m so sad about Ric, and sad for Paulina. I loved them as a couple.
Like she even cares about the will days after unexpectedly finding him dead in his bed.
Hopefully whoever inherits the home will let her continue to live there. Breakups with longtime true loves are always hard.
Everything I’ve seen refers to her as his ’estranged wife’, not ex-wife. If their divorce wasn’t finalized, they may not have divvied-up the assets yet, so a lot of it may still end up being hers or theirs rather than just his.
Is there a reason to believe that their home was his as opposed to theirs?
I’m guessing that at this point money is not her top priority, but still, assuming she has a decent lawyer, she should not come away with nothing.
I saw elsewhere that someone said the house has been up for sale for a while already.
Their house in Manhattan, and I think another property, was in both of their names. And yes, it’s currently on the market, for $14M.
Ric’s statement was petty af, but I always thought that it was normal to write your ex/soon to be ex out of the will. Makes sense if you are paying lawyers to deal with a divorce and the separation of assets that involves to go ahead of revise the will as well. I’m curious as to whether he left his other exes anything at all.

My guess is she had a new boyfriend and he was bitter af. But despite that, she took care of him after surgery. He doesn’t look like a nice person in death.

Eh, grain of salt, at least with the obviously biased slant on the story. They were separated, after all. She had a right to move on. Fact remains, she was there for him at the end and gave up her career to take care of him and the kids back in the day. It was a dick move.
No he doesn’t and i would imagine given the fact that they were still legally married, it would be easy for her to contest it. In addition, given the length of their marriage and children, plus she helped care for him, he was being spiteful and hateful. So what if she had started to move on. He apparently couldn’t get over the fact that she had and he wanted to hurt her. I would imagine she could easily contest the will due to the legality of marriage. What a nasty thing to do to her.
Andrea, you are right. He doesn’t look like a nice person for having done that. Also, maybe he was angry that he was dying and he was blaming her. Who knows.
yep, cutting 2 of your 6 kids from your will is a great way to cause resentment amongst your kids who should be supporting each other after you’re gone.

Re: the new Polanski accusations: he put out a new movie this year, “J’accuse”, based on a real story. I haven’t seen it, but if you go to Wiki, you’ll see his wife plays the character listed in third, pretty much the only one who doesn’t have a dedicated Wiki page: the only invented character, and he named her… “Pauline Monnier”! When this new victim is named “Valentine Monnier”. So not only is this movie some kind of sick excuse to go on a “why was I wrongly accused about the 13 yo, boohoo” tour, but he took the opportunity to taunt another one of his victims, that no one knew about at the time, and that’s why she came out and accused him now! How messed up can this dude be?!!!!

Absolutely time – way past time in fact. Don Cherry is the Donald Trump of hockey. I read that someone who works at SportsNet said that the initial apologies from SportsNet and Ron MacLean were “test balloons” to see if the outrage would blow over. But it didn’t. Too bad, so sad.
And of course Don refused to apologize and is acting like he’s a martyr standing up for the troops.

His thuggish need to see blood, doesn’t consider it a ‘real’ hockey game unless someone’s bleeding, he says truly ignorant things about players who refuse to fight or just walk away, his constant bitching about not enough Canadians on Canadian teams, calling players and coaches losers, boasting nonstop about his favourite team Boston,(good Canadian team) his flat out bullying of Crosby on national TV and on and on. So glad he’s gone and on his way out tarnished the reputation he spent 30+ years building as Mr Hockey.
Millions used to tune in to watch him, he was the voice of hockey nationwide. I wonder what his numbers are lately?

Hubs and I cheered. We thought even after this last tirade he’d still stay on. Disliked the old dinosaur and his Medieval views so badly had to leave the room or turn off the TV for CC – thrilled he’s gone. Unfortunately gave the right wing idiots something to moan about, and try starting a trending tweet about standing with him – do not read the comments or any good thoughts you have about Canada will vanish like snow in June.
Still – one hopes the new person will bring knowledge, passion for the game and a more enlightened perspective to CC, it’s high time!
