It was a joke going around for weeks – Beyonce sent her Ivy Park/Adidas collection to all of her celebrity friends and various Beyhive/Instagram influencers, but not the Kardashians. Celebrities and influencers alike all posted videos and photos as soon as they got their Ivy Park collections, so we always knew who got what and when. Kendall Jenner apparently got the only advanced Ivy Park package in the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and my theory is that Kendall only recieved it because she’s already got an Adidas contract, not because Beyonce actually wanted Kendall to get the Ivy Park clothes. But Beyonce must have figured out that the lack of Ivy Park packages to Kardashians was becoming a talking point, so here we are. Kim Kardashian finally got her orange box.
The more I see of the Ivy Park collection, the more I remain underwhelmed. I fully support Beyonce’s entrance into the athleisure business, of course, but the Virginia Tech color scheme and the questionable real-world wearability of this stuff… yeah, it’s not great. I also think it’s sort of funny that Kim wasn’t pushing the Ivy Park collection in stand-alone Instagrams. She saves individual IG posts for her own (successful) collection of intimates and shapewear. She only posted the Ivy Park stuff on her Snapchat and IG Stories.
So, do Beyonce and Kim get along? That’s the real undercurrent of so many conversations about Beyonce/Kim and Jay-Z/Kanye. I think that much like the war of the Sussexes and Cambridges, the main beef has always been between the men. Kanye and Jay are not forgiving each other any time soon. But Beyonce and Kim just sort of accept each other’s presence and maybe this was some kind of vague olive branch. I mostly believe Beyonce doesn’t care one way or the other about Kim, and Kim has enough going on in her life where she stopped caring a bit too. They’re not friends. They don’t have to be.

In the UK the colour scheme is pretty much the same as the staff uniform of a large supermarket chain called Sainsbury’s. It really is uncanny – there’s a meme’s of Bey’s head photoshopped over someone wearing a Sainsbury’s uniform.

Oh man. That’s actually pretty funny. It’s one thing to use the colors of a University but a grocery store. I don’t think that’s a comparison any person wants for a fashion line.

I believe Jay/Kanye called a truce awhile ago….unless there’s some new beef that I missed. I doubt that they’re best friends and hanging out every weekend, but they appear to be more civil at the moment than Will/Harry.

Now with the climate crisis I think about every piece of plastic I use and seeing this is something like that is so discouraging… wish Beyoncé and big clothing companies would hop on the sustainability wagon.
On another note: Kim spent a fortune getting rid of her baby hairs, looks like now she wants them back.
I see a lot of people (mainly African Americans) styling their baby bangs. Alicia Keys recently did it for the Grammys, and I remember FKA Twigs doing it when she was a regular on this site. I don’t know if it always was a thing but I started noticing it last year or so on many celebs. It looks cute on some.
We call them baby hairs or edges! I’m terrible at laying my edges so I’m in full support of the return of fuzzy baby hair 😀

I think she got her orange closet when everyone else did (whether from Beyoncé or Adidas, who knows). Look at how the clothes fit her shape – she had everything tailored before modeling it. She has to. I do think Kendall’s is for sure from Adidas.
That seems more likely, that she had the clothes tailored first. She apologizes for being late. Bey’s not stupid. She knows that Kim will sell the clothes to her base.

Kanye works for Adidas so I assume everyone affiliated with them got one, Bey dgaf about her and the collection is already sold out so i don’t believe for a second that Kim “forgot” or “couldn’t” post it until now.

I don’t think that Beyoncé even decides who receives her clothing line Adidas makes that decision. They send it to celebrities that have contracts with the company, brand ambassadors, influencers and other assorted celebrities. My friend who coaches a big 10 women’s lacrosse team gets samples from all the athletic companies for her to try on all the time. You should see her athletic wardrobe. I think it is a fake narrative made up by the tabloids that there is friction between the two women.
Caselila, I think that is true generally speaking, but big names people behind clothing lines probably get a list of people who will be distributed free clothing so that some minion can run names searches for people just in case.
All companies send free stuff to certain celebs and influencers. A coach would be an influencer for lacrosse team athletic wear. Most lacrosse coaches don’t have named lines and potential beefs with weird celebrities, so your friend’s job is probably on a list for women’s products because the school she teaches at has enough of a market that other women will buy if they see her wearing the stuff. My asshat ex used to get free stuff all the time since he was in the music business.

I think their was frost between the two women before Jay-z and Kanye fell out. I also have heard that Beyonce is not thrilled with Kim’s close affiliation with, who could be Becky with the Good hair, Rachel Roy. From what I understand, Roy was at the kim and Kanye’s wedding.

I remember she used to sell her used clothes (a lot of which she got for FREE) on Ebay and say it was for charity (but only give 10% to charity). Now the family has Kardashian Kloset where they sell their used clothes. I can see these being put up for sale there…just wait lol.

After seeing Reese Witherspoons video and how she looked in the clothes I was trying to figure out how Kim could possibly get those clothes to work. Definitely had to have been tailored. The clothes were truly nasty anyway.

This was not done because the press/fans where noticing. Beyonce didn’t care about that, it wasn’t “bad press” for her anyways. And even with the story out there she still wasn’t intending to give one to her, especially since the Kardashians repeatedly bugged the shit out of Beyonce’s people (in extremely rude a manner) until they were definitively outright told they weren’t on the list to get one. No.
The momager had to basically threaten Adidas corporate and their future contracts with Kanye & Kendall to get one, even then corporate was like “what”? Then Kanye asked as a personal favor and somebody up the chain of command finally said they’d had enough of hearing about it and just make them happy, even then it was sent by Adidas directly not Beyonce’s people. Her sample collection packages where already out and long gone to people she actually wanted to give them to. (She had no extras to send to Kim since these were specially made to order for certain people.)
The unfortunate things I learn working in sports. This story is gonna be office joke fodder for YEARS though. People are already taking about dressing up as Kim in this gear for next Halloween.
