For some reason, I thought Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli’s trial would be starting in the next few weeks, but I got confused by all of the recent hearings and court appearances. Apparently, the trial has been set for October, which feels like a lifetime from now. That’s probably why Lori and her team have eased up on the leaks to Us Weekly and People Magazine too – there was a flurry of bulls–t at the end of last year, like how Lori is at “rock bottom” and how she’s convinced she will end up in prison. There hasn’t been a lot of info about Lori and Mossimo’s finances though. I thought they were probably in good financial shape, although it probably hurt them that Lori got sh-tcanned from all of her Lifetime work. But this is a bad sign, in general:
Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have listed their massively expensive home, TMZ has learned, but our sources say it has NOTHING to do with the college admissions scandal or their upcoming trial. Lori and Mossimo have quietly put their Bel-Air estate on the market for $28,650,000. It’s in one of the best areas of L.A.
Sources close to the couple tell TMZ, they’re doing what they always do … following Mossimo’s passion for architecture. He’s super talented at redoing homes, and this one’s no exception. They bought the house in 2015 for $13.9 million and listed it 2 years later for $35 million but took it off the market in July 2018. The house is pretty great … 12,000-square-feet, 6 bedrooms, 9 baths and on and on.
So Mossimo did his thing, and now they’re ready for another home challenge. They’ve done this for years, selling the family home every 3 to 5 years. And, check this out. Realtors at this price point typically get 5% of the purchase price — which they split if there’s a separate agent for the seller and the buyer. If someone offers full price that would mean the commission would be $1.43 million. The deal is … the commission will be maxed out at $1 mil — take it or leave it.
So Mossimo and Lori are house-flippers? So many celebrities do that in LA – Jeremy Renner comes to mind, as does Ellen DeGeneres. Even Jennifer Aniston has flipped some big LA real estate too. Anyway, I think this is partially about house-flipping and partially about… maybe some money woes. They don’t have anything coming in, right? And they’re looking at their future and thinking about a major downsize? Perhaps.

Perfectly normal for people to downsize once their kids are off at colle- oops, no nevermind.
Lol
I spit out my tea…lol. I needed that, Kate!
Bwahahaha
Bazinga!!!
Leaving town, huh? Probably best.
Maybe this is about optics. They’re so desperate about image saving them they don’t want to look like the privileged spoiled and entitled elites that they are… Considering their current situation NOTHING is done without major consideration and how it pertains to their public image.
To couch this with the statement “they do this all the time, what’s the big deal?” while they are dealing with a criminal investigation just goes to show how naive and ill-advised they remain.
Lawyers and PR campaigns don’t come cheap.
She/they would probably never admit they need liquid assets. They’re super talented house flippers, that’s all!
+1

I agree 100%
That’s what I was thinking too – they probably need cash, and possibly can’t afford to keep that house going if one or both is in the slammer for a bit.
Considering they spent half a million to get their kid into a school she didn’t even want to go and blew up their careers, they don’t seem to be the smartest with their money.
Fools. They could have followed Felicity Huffman’s example and taken their medicine, but no…they had to be goody-two-shoes hypocrites. I hope they end up broke.
They also could have just not pushed their daughters to go to a school they didn’t qualify for. Such a stupid thing to blow up everyone’s lives for.
Downsize to a jail cell perhaps?
Not. one. bit. of. sympathy.
Are they possibly making plans for a run for it to a foreign country that does not extradite back to the US?
Making a run for it would be very stupid. So, yes, that’s probably what they are planning!
Who in their right mind would want the bad juju in that house of horrors!
In Hollywood, their juju is probably small potatoes.
I’m guessing they lived like the gravy train would never stop, and now it has. Big houses, lawyers, PR are all big overhead for people with very little coming in.
The Macy/Huffmans look like geniuses compared to them. The news stories have moved on to celebrating the acting and college successes of the daughters. I don’t know how hard they were hit financially, but at very least it looks like William H Macy be working steadily, and my guess is once Felicity has finished the community service, she will relaunch herself.
Felicity and her husband did the right thing, and it was obvious they were sorry for what they had done. But these two continue to hit back as if they did not realize what they had done. Not really buying that, are you? Taking fake photos of the daughters, hmmm, no way they can get away with this explanation. Do not know why they are selling, maybe the reason above is right–lots of money being spent on attorneys, PR people, and the like, and no money coming in unless it’s from her husband. I’m sure they have lots of money invested, but maybe they don’t need a mansion of that size anymore. They need to pay for what they did just like everyone else.
Slime balls!
“Passion for architecture”
Read: scrolled through a bunch of pictures of McMansions, then hired people with the capability to make a house even more overpriced
Exactly. I can’t see these people at Home Depot picking out paint chips or carpet samples.
I loathe to click on TMZ, but I was curious what the house looked like. It’s big, but not very architecturally interesting, IMO. Kind of a big Mediterranean style U shaped box. Blah.
Getting a dream team together isn’t cheap. Bless her little Hallmark Christian heart.
Christian my a$$!! I hope they are both jailed for double digit years! She comes off as wholier than thou, which truly burns my ears! Reminds me of all the Sunday Baptist’s here in the south. They think that since they go to church on Sunday, they can behave appallingly the rest of the week. That is what I experience in Texas, though it may not be like that elsewhere.
Oh, it is. 🙂
If I were their atty I would have told them to settle the case around the time Huffman did. They obviously are short of cash now that she no longer works. He sold his brand and hasn’t been working since. Not surprised and I don’t feel sorry for them.
It is never too late to confess and plead guilty.
I think that’s what their lawyer(s) did tell them, they acted against counsel…and look where they are now!
I’d be more likely to agree it’s due to financial issues if the house had not already been on and off the market a few times. Seems pretty common at those super high price points, where homes can take a few years/tries to finally sell.
Why does anyone need more bathrooms than bedrooms? As an Aussie who watches some USA reno shows, I don’t really understand.
