Thanks to LaineyGossip for pointing this out – the 2020 Oscar presenters list has been completed and announced, and guess who is NOT on the list? Jennifer Aniston. Which sort of makes sense to me, even if it is a bummer gossip-wise. First of all, the Academy snubbed Jennifer hard several years ago for a nomination for Cake, even after she spent a ton of money trying to buy a nomination. Second of all, the Oscars try not to be too gauche about that sh-t, especially when it involves really stale tea. The Oscars totally asked Jennifer to be a presenter the same year that Angelina Jolie was nominated for Best Actress for The Changeling, which was 2008 (eleven damn years ago). And that was all the Gossip Gods will get at the Oscars as far as the uncool Bermuda Triangle goes.
Now that Brangelina is in the wind and Brad Pitt is about to be crowned Oscar Jesus, Aniston doesn’t get an invite. Sure, she’ll get invited to all of the Oscar parties and we’ll probably get some “did Brad and Jen see each other at the Vanity Fair party” gossip. But basically, the “reunion” buzz between Jennifer and Brad was just for his Oscar campaign and the campaign is done. They did their thing at the SAGs and that’s all we get. Lainey did wonder if Brad would bring a date to the Oscars… I think he will, but it won’t be one of his kids, nor will it be Aniston. It will probably be one of his siblings, his parents, or maybe someone in the industry, on his team, like his manager or publicist or something. Maybe his speechwriter, lmao. (Sidenote: I’ve seen that tweet-joke that Alia Shawkat is his speechwriter and I’m starting to wonder, tbh.)
As for the presenters, it’s a good list – of course all of last year’s winners are coming back to present, and I’m looking forward to seeing Mahershala Ali. Other people on the presenters list of note: Timothee Chalamet, Will Ferrell, Jane Fonda, Gal Gadot. Oscar Isaac, Mindy Kaling, Brie Larson, Shia LaBeouf, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Natalie Portman, Keanu Reeves, Mark Ruffalo, Kelly Marie Tran and Taika Waititi.

Rachel, I see your point and agree. Aniston’s career since the tv show has been a flop but Pitt and Jolie’s successful careers has kept Aniston’s name in the news except for her failed marriage to that other guy. Seems like 2 minutes after wedding he moved out all the way to NYC.
I don’t think Jen was successful because she was married to Pitt. Not at all–she was successful in her own right because people loved her, and still do.
@kosmos yep, agree. JA is successful on her own not because of brad pitt. And only a selective few actors can present at the oscars so why would JA present? I don’t think her not presenting is a dig at her.
On another note, there is no “bermuda triangle” IMO . Thats so old news. Its only being kept “alive” by gossip channels who have nothing else to write about.
She was definitely hugely successful before and after Pitt / with and without Pitt.

I think that would have been too disrespectful of Angelina who is an Oscar winner. I dont think they are playing in to Brads PR team tabloid stuff. Angelina is still a force and is not going anywhere. It is where she was raised.
Man, he was all over her good publicity until he got his nomination and some awards, huh? Especially the whole set up thing of him watching her win an award on the monitor backstage. He’s such a user.
My interest in and respect for the Oscars has continued to dwindle down in recent years. I probably won’t even watch the red carpet, but will just catch the fashion recaps later.
This did remind me how much I hated the Changeling movie though. I generally don’t care for Clint Eastwood’s films, except for a few earlier ones.
The Oscars are Angelina’s territory. I mean, wasn’t her leg the most interesting thing at one ceremony?
She still is the most interesting person in that triangle.
This is good news. For me, a little Aniston goes a long way. Between her awards campaigning and her recent embracing of social media, she’s been everywhere.
IMO presenter list is pretty boring this year. I wanted Ana de Armas & Chris Evans up there, the meltdown that would have caused….*sigh* and it would have been good for gossip too!

I never saw Cake, butI remember a loooong time ago I saw her & Jake G in the film The Good Girl & she was REALLY good in it .
Speaking of Jake G, now that’s an actor that’s given *So Many* award-worthy performances but never got the nods/win. The fact that he wasn’t nominated or won for Nightcrawler is a disgrace. He was insanely brilliant.
I agree she was good in TGG but that film would never have been allowed to happen today because it’s more than a little mean spirited and cruel about mental illness.

This whole reunion thing benefits both of them. I think Pitt would never even have a fling with her but she would totally get back with him. I don’t like any of the three – Jolie, Pitt, or Aniston – very much but I enjoy Pitt in films, Aniston is underrated but quite annoying with her PR scheming, and Jolie gets a lot more hate than she deserves overall.
What’s most amazing about Aniston isn’t her Brad Pitt Jolie triangle thing but is in fact how much goodwill she has with showbiz people. Her 50th birthday party had an incredible guest list. She’s what’s known as a superconnector in business school speak. A network unto herself; a Facebook or Instagram equivalent of a HW human. There is absolutely no one else, celeb wise, in HW with strong connections like Aniston has.
Thats because Aniston has the strongest publicist in the biz. Not to mention Aniston has zero responsibilites so can spend as much time with people as she wants. Her publicist Stephen Huvane invites other CAA celebs to Aniston’s events. How do you think she & Ellen met? Same with Chelsea Handler? Both let it be known that they didn’t know Aniston but were invited to her Parties.
But she’s not Huvane’s only client, is she?! If he’s the differentiator, why doesn’t his other clients have the same network effect as Jen? “Zero responsibilities” – does that mean women without children shouldn’t be given the same credit for their career success as women with children?
