The Queen’s grandson has separated from his wife! No, not that grandson. Not that other grandson either. No, it’s Peter Phillips, of the tacky-ass Chinese milk advertisements. Peter Philips is Princess Anne’s older child, the Queen’s first grandchild, and reportedly quite close to his grandmother the Queen. The Queen is said to be fond of Autumn Phillips, Peter’s Canadian wife. They have two daughters, Savannah and Isla. And… it sounds like Autumn just left Peter. Oh, wow – I wonder where the advance reporting/gossip was on this?
The Queen’s favourite grandson Peter Phillips is to separate from his wife Autumn, The Sun can reveal. Her Majesty is believed to be “upset” after Autumn, 41, told Princess Anne’s son, 42, she wants to split after 12 years of marriage. A pal said: “He is devastated.”
It comes amid fears that the mum of two wants to follow Harry and Meghan to her native Canada. Close friends are suggesting that Megxit – Prince Harry and Meghan’s departure from the UK to Canada – could have hastened Autumn’s shock decision. Sports marketing consultant Peter, 42, and Autumn, 41, who is a management consultant, have two children – Savannah, nine and Isla, seven. It is believed the daughters have dual Canadian citizenship which means they could easily live in Canada if Autumn were to return there.
One pal revealed: “Peter is absolutely devastated by this and just didn’t see it coming. He thought he was happily married and had the perfect family with two lovely daughters. But he is now in total shock. Autumn is a wonderful wife and mother and a very intelligent woman but she’s been telling her friends for some time that there were issues. It’s the last thing she needs after all her recent troubles and you get the feeling that the royal family is falling apart a little bit.”
Those close the couple have expressed concern that Autumn might want to start a new life in Canada, just like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided. A friend said: “What worries some of us is that Autumn may want to go back to Canada. Maybe she has been influenced by Harry and Meghan’s departure. Perhaps she thought if that can happen then I can leave as well? That might be unfair on her but you have to consider it.” No other party is involved in the split, our sources said. A pal explained: “Certainly none of us think either Peter or Autumn are involved with anyone else. It just seems they have grown apart but it’s come as a bolt out of the blue for Peter and he’s very upset.”
I love how Meghan and Harry are minding their own damn business in Canada and Miami and they’re still getting blamed for breaking up the Phillips family. Is it possible that Autumn saw the Sussexit and she thought “why not me?” Possibly. But it’s far more likely that Autumn and Peter’s marriage has been on the rocks for a while and no one was paying attention to it because of Meghan and Harry. I’m so disappointed in the royal reporters – they missed out on months of interesting marriage-woes gossip because of their single-minded devotion to smearing Meghan.
Also: my guess is that Peter probably was fooling around, but that Autumn left him for many different reasons. Also: the Sun broke the story. Dan Wooten, the guy with all of the leaks from Kensington Palace. Uh… is Prince William throwing his cousins under the bus now??
The BBC confirmed the news a few hours ago, btw: they say that Autumn and Peter have decided to divorce because it is “the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship,” and they plan to share custody of their daughters. The BBC also says that Autumn and Peter told the Queen and the rest of the royal family “last year.” WELL.

The whole moving to Canada thing sounds like an attempt to get people riled up over Harry & Meghan again. They have kids and have said they’re sharing custody, which is much more difficult if you live in different countries.

Serena Stanhope is like Rose Hanbury in that their families have been at “court” for years. I do not see either on of these ladies getting a divorce regardless of what the status of their marriage is because that Is “not the way things are done” in their sets. Serena is definitely is all the important sets ie… the London Set, the polo-hunting set as they lease a large manor house from the Duke of Beaufort on the Badminton Estate and the Anglo-Europeans Set on the Continent.

He joined the NSDAP in late 1930- membership numbers were rising dramatically from 1928 onwards, but 1930 was still a pretty early time to join. The NSDAP had joined its first coalition in early 1930 so it was considered a party very much on the rise.
German nobles in general were extremely nationalist, the majority of them hated the Weimar Republic and democracy in general and a lot of them joined the NSDAP around 1930. There were much more “noble” party members than what would have been normal given their % of the general population.
He had some problems with the SS though. Not because he was, you know, opposed to murdering millions but because he believed that Himmler was too low-born to give him orders and because he practiced his Catholic faith openly. I think George survived the shove and is just fine.

I saw the video and felt sorry for George, he wasn’t just pushed down a hill, his crayoning stuff was thrown after him. Kate saw what happened but didn’t want to appear overprotective and so a bodyguard picked him up and dusted him down.

And bingo, there they are — second paragraph. I’m also willing to bet that there is a third person somewhere in this breakdown — if not actively still involved, then in the not so distant past.
Especially when the family could have just moved to Canada. Peter used to live and work in Hong Kong when their girls were little. They don’t work for the BRF or have security paid for by the public. So, Harry and Meghan leaving wouldn’t have made Autumn want to leave too. She was never trapped there to begin with. They could have packed up and moved at anytime.

Peter might not be a working royal but there have definitely been gossip stories published about him and also about Zara in the past. The brouhaha over his wedding photos being published, him getting paid to “event plan” that celebration for the queen, the stories and photo of Mike Tindall being a little too friendly with a woman in a bar, the dodgy ways Peter and Zara have made money, etx. Yet somehow the gossip reporters missed this story.

The conspiracy theorist in me says this was purposefully leaked/exposed in order to keep the press of someone’s back. That someone may be from KP because this story came from Wooten and the last few weeks have shown he might know someone in KP. The Cambridges get the press of their backs and the press get to sensationalise and over analyse the divorce of two private people. But that’s a pretty big accusation I’m making so don’t jump me. I know I know.
However the rational side of me says this was probably kept under wraps because they don’t want a big hoo hah with people speculating over private matters. But once again how were they going to explain her absence at trooping? Would she just come along and everyone would pretend they were still married? And how didn’t any courtier leak this? Just means they can shut up about certain things.

I do wonder about the Wooten connection. I think it would make a lot of sense that he has a connection in KP – or at least SOME palace. Right I don’t think Peter leaked this. There would have been no reason to. They could have announced the divorce and then started the whole “it was a happy marriage, Peter was blindsided” story. Since there ISNT that much attention paid to these two, and we rarely seem as part of the royal family minus Ascot, Trooping and Sandringham for Christmas, it could have been a very low key announcement and I don’t think the public would have cared that much to assign blame either way.
The story from DW with the almost immediate follow up from BBC makes me think someone leaked who wasn’t supposed to. But again, we all know I’m a conspiracy theorist.

The big distraction right now is Andrew hanging out with the Chinese Ambassador (along with his ex wife) and the growing rumors of him coming back to work (and the push for his daughters). This is why I feel that a lot of the issues/stories about the Sussexes were from Andrew and not William but that is an unpopular opinion around here.

The article states that they are going to share custody, which suggests that she and the kids will remain nearby. The whole thing about her going to Canada is pure speculation. Basically she’s Canadian, so some “sources” stated that they are worried that she *might* want to take the kids and go back to Canada and gossip sites and tabs are emphasizing that aspect of it because it makes it easy to bring in Meghan and Harry.

Peter’s moneymaking schemes have always come across as sketchy. Selling the photos of his wedding and not even warning his family that the photographer would be taking those candids of them after the ceremony. All that money he got for “event-planning” that celebration for the queen. Sketchy fees for “consulting” in areas where he has no real training. All odd.
Autumn’s financials aren’t much better. I read somewhere her companies are deeply in debt with very little cash assets. But let’s face it; he has a trust of a few million from TQM, he lives rent free on his mother’s estate; I’d bet everything that Anne has trusts set up for her kids, too, that they receive the interest off of now. While he/they “work”, they are hardly living hand to mouth, and don’t have to worry about mortgages, health ins., or very much else. There’s more to this.
I was reading about their respective resumes–she was a PA when she met him, he was…doing something in banking (with his degree in something to do with sports), then event management, then…. I don’t know. Very odd. I mean, it’s normal to change jobs, I just never understood how he got high-level employment, other than based on his ‘royal’ status.

Yeah, I love how “moving to Canada” has become the same thing as being exiled to Siberia or something. IF Autumn did return to Canada, I imagine they would work out a visiting schedule where the kids spent a month with Peter around the winter holidays and then maybe a long break during the summer or something. Or in the reverse, if the kids stayed in the UK. Its not like it would be this huge journey and they would never see each other.
That said, she’s been in the UK now for well over a decade so I imagine she has roots here, including her children and their cousins, so it is not surprising to me that apparently she is staying in the UK.
A friend of mine has a sister who moved to England with her husband and 2 kids for his work in the financial industry. They are all Canadian but he worked in Chicago for a few years before moving to England. They were there for about 8 years before separating and eventually divorcing. The company moved him back to the US and she refused to go. She and the kids stayed in England and he flew back every 3 weeks to spend 5 days with the kids. After 3 years of that she finally agreed to also get an apartment in Chicago but keep her house in England and she travels back there for breaks now while the kids are in school in Chicago. The travel is doable if the finances are there, but it would suck for the family (and it doesn’t sound like that is the route they are taking).
But she did have the lawful right to stay in England with the kids when he returned to the US.

I think Normal Bill’s problem with Camilla may go back to Cathy. I think I read somewhere that Camilla did not think too highly of Cathy and viewed her as sorta “uncool” and not fitting in. This maybe related to Cathy not being part of the aristocracy or landed gentry…ie…Cathy is not a real Turnip Toff.
I think Charles and William looked ridiculous spinning how “close” they are during the joint event. Camilla is not in any position to look down on anybody considering how she got in. I think William resented his father using him in PR for Camilla way back when. The family is decidedly not close by any stretch of the imagination. If Kate’s perpetually exhausted and emaciated looks are anything to go by I’d say their marriage is in SERIOUS problems. Things seem to have escalated from the Rose Hanbury situation and then to Meghan and Harry’s departure. William is leaking like a sieve to distract but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see them take a “time out” on their marriage at the very least in the coming months.
Agree about the Cambridges, i definitely think something is up. So many articles going overboard about how happy and confident Kate looks and how she and William are closer than ever. Wootton’s exclusives have been a little too obvious for a while now. If this was known since last year, there was no need for this story. Most people don’t even care about those two anyway (or even know who they are). The timing of the release is interesting. Someone is feeding the tabloid beast, but at some point news about others will run dry and it will turn on them.
And if this was going to be announced, which you would expect once it became official, it did not need to be splashed on the cover page of the Sun like it is. Its basically the whole cover!! I’m not surprised by this announcement at all. I’ve been wondering if there was something going on because I noticed over the past year that Autumn and Peter didn’t seem to really interact at things like the annual Christmas walk, etc . The last few times they’ve done some sort of family walk, Autumn is walking and talking with one of the female family members, and Peter is totally separate from her. Or she has the girls, and he’s doing whatever (I have an easier time spotting Autumn in the videos / photographs).
I love the subtle shade in the article though that the “blood” grandson of the Queen is devastated and that Autumn — another “woman” who married into the Firm — is the one pulling the trigger.
Autumn is an Canadian, her family and most of her friends are lived in Canada. was the reason that she is want to rebuild a new life in Canada has nothing to do with the Sussexes. @Tigerlily – What we all must remember is that the “looks” bar is set pretty low for English men. I have always thought the the best looking men were Yanks, Canadians and Australian. IMHO, English Toffs, who are not dandies, really do not know how to dress and/or really care about good dressing.
Also, if one is older than dirt as I am, you view “old” photographs with a different mind set because you can remember what and or how “hot” men looked then. Styling and fashion trends have changed very much since the late 1960s.
I look at pictures of grandmother when she was in her 30s and by today’s styling standards she looks like she is in her late 60s.

Not a chance Autumn is moving back to Canada with the children .Royal or not , one parent does not get to up and leave and move to another country with children .If Autumn tried to do that without Peter’s consent , he would easily succeed in arguing in court that the children’s habitual residence /ties/ school etc. were all in the UK. If Peter consents to the move then that is a different story but why would he do that as his time with his children would be significantly reduced ?

Their marriage issues have nothing to do with the Sussexes, but the tabloids always have to throw them into the mix. It’s a tough family for women to marry into. One really pays attention to them anyway. Maybe Autumn saw that she didn’t have to put up with any nonsense and just had enough. I also suspect Zara is not that great to have as a SIL, and Autumn has probably seen a lot of behind the scenes toxicity, especially in the last few years. Side note, Peter and William look alike to me. He’s better looking than Will, but can definitely see the family resemblance.
