In the pandemic, many items are being sold out across the board, from toilet paper and paper towels to soap and hand sanitizer. People are not buying “luxury items” like expensive cosmetics and perfume. Which is why many beauty companies – especially in France – have switched over their production to make hand sanitizer. Dior, Givenchy and Guerlain are just some of the companies moving production over to make hand sanitizer in the crisis. It’s easy enough to make – all you need is rubbing alcohol, aloe vera gel and an essential oil (for smell). It’s just about getting the percentages right, but honestly, the reason why all of these companies can switch production over so easily is because sanitizer IS super-easy to make. Which makes me wonder why… Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are not moving their cosmetics’ productions over to making sanitizer? Instead, they’re just shutting down production entirely.
Better make those lip kits last. Kylie Jenner‘s Kylie Cosmetics and Kim Kardashian‘s KKW Beauty have both been forced to stop production amid the coronavirus outbreak. The fulfillment centers that work for the beauty lines were closed under Cailfornia’s statewide shelter-in-place order. KKW Beauty shared the news on Twitter on Monday.
“Due to current health orders in California, our fulfillment center is temporarily closing,” the message began. “While our website remains available to accept orders, our fulfillment center cannot guarantee delivery dates at this time. Your order will receive top priority as soon as we can resume shipping.”
The company also shared how to reach out to customer service for help with orders and cancellations. “We will continue to keep you all updated via email and on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and look forward to continued sharing of beauty tips, tricks and KKW Beauty content with you,” the message concluded. “While this remains a difficult time for us all, we have been so inspired by all of the amazing support we are seeing within our community and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Kylie Cosmetics shared a similar statement the same day. Meanwhile, Kardashian’s shapewear brand, SKIMS, is helping the coronavirus fight by donating a percentage of profits to Baby2Baby’s COVID-19 Emergency Response program.
Okay, I get that they’re making the announcement that they won’t be shipping out anything for a while. That makes sense. But what of the factories? I guess the thing about Kim and Kylie’s cosmetics companies is that they don’t actually own the brick-and-mortar factories? The actual factory work that goes into making their cosmetics is outsourced to another company, I believe. So… that company switching over production or what? Or is that part of California’s lockdown too?

They work with an existing lab for their products. Sounds like they were shut down because of the orders in California. I mean, even if they did switch over to hand sanitizer, it’s not like it’s THEIR lab, so they don’t have any real control over what happens in regards to a full shut down or a switch to sanitizer.
So this confirms the rumors that Kylie and Kim’s brand is the same as Colourpop. Colourpop just announced the same thing. I just hate how I know Colourpop is a really good affordable brand and people are actually paying 4 times more for the same stuff because celebrities pass it off as original or theirs. Their quality has seem to go down this past year and I have no idea why.
I hope those “self made billionaires” are paying all their employees during this. And it’d be nice to see them encouraging people to stay in, donate, and donating themselves. Looks like all they’re doing is posting dumb selfies.
A local distillery has switched to making sanitizer that they’re giving away for FREE, with priority to first responders. They’re just asking people to bring their own bottles.
Another local company that makes CDs and stuff figured out how to manufacture face shields and is cranking them out, selling at cost to keep their employees paid.
Kylie has actually surprisingly been telling people that they NEED to follow guidelines for everyone’s safety and she’s trying to get younger folks to take it seriously. There are a lot of billionaires who aren’t doing enough, but I was surprised by the article I read yesterday that was tracking what the wealthiest among us have been doing for their employees / the world. I think it was on Forbes – “Billionaire Tracker: Actions The World’s Wealthiest Are Taking”.
I doubt they are paying their staff, or that they pay their staff well in the first place.

That photo of kim on the horse is unintentionally hilarious! Trying to look all hot and sexy and all we see is plastic. Speaking of which, I think they are all going to slowly deflate over the next couple weeks, as they can’t get their weekly injections.
They are probably using a lab that they don’t own and possibly that lab doesnt have the permit to produce that type of item. I can bet you anybody producing cosmetics or perfume is going to get that permit and get the machines and the quality control to be able to make it, because a next round is just waiting to happen. Or are they stopping because someone in the facility tested positive for covid19? Or is it just that they just want a vacation because 1-their husbands are no longer working and so they just want to keep an eye on them 2- have quality family time.
And? Have they donated even $10k to help people out there????

I’m pretty sure the labs would be closing because they are classed as ‘non essential’ under the California shelter-in-place mandate. I live in California and lots of cosmetics and clothing facilities are shutting down. It would be a great gesture of goodwill for them to keep paying the manufacturing employees even if they aren’t working. Kim and Kylie could do this in an instant. That’s what I want to see from the bigger businesses who are owned by people you KNOW could afford it–send staff home, pay their salaries.
