Speaker Nancy Pelosi is serving color-coordinated mask looks in DC

Pelosi Press Conference

I know this is not the most important thing facing us as a nation, but I’ve always liked the way Nancy Pelosi dresses and styles herself. She’s so fashionable. She wears tailored suits and flattering dresses, she loves statement jewelry (big necklaces and brooches) and in the current crisis, she’s been coordinating her face masks and face bandanas. It looks awesome and I feel like this is the way forward, from a sartorial perspective. I told you this wasn’t the most important thing, but whatever. Let’s talk about Speaker Pelosi’s masks!

Considering her sensible-yet-epic closet, it’s no secret that she already had a wealth of rich-lady scarves. She’s now using those scarves to coordinate LEWKS. Plus she’s buying some coordinated masks too – even Hillary Clinton has been admiring Pelosi’s mask/suit coordination game. Vogue also did a nice write-up on Pelosi’s masks.

Meanwhile, Speaker Pelosi will likely push through a House vote today on a $3 trillion relief package – called the Heroes Act – for even more coronavirus relief. Pelosi and her Democratic caucus are arguing over this or that, meanwhile the Republican party continues to completely abdicate responsibility for everything.

Since this is a celebrity blog, we’re allowed to talk about cool ways to match face masks and outfits!

    • Sid says:

The president of Slovakia had a few appearances were she color-matched her mask to her outfit. The effect was beautiful.

  2. Jess says:

This is honestly the best thing to come out of this crisis: revealing which politician actually has a sense of fashion lol. This reminded me of that meme of Hillary Clinton wearing the same clothes but only in different colors lol

  3. Audrey says:

I love it! I have two cute masks and change them up based on my outfit.

  4. Tiffany says:

I hope this November Speaker Pelosi brings out the infamous orange coat when she goes to vote, while eating a carton of ice cream.

    • Busyann says:

I looooove that orange coat. I wanted to buy it so badly when MaxMara re-released it, but it is too expensive.

    • molly says:

I know she’s far from perfect, but I love Nancy, and no more than I did on that day with that coat.

  5. Darla says:

I wear black masks with “VOTE” imprinted on them. But I have to admit, I am bit jealous of Nancy’s style. She’s got it!

  6. Eleonor says:

    Nancy Pelosi is awesome.
I wish I was half badass at least 1/3than she is

  7. TheOriginalMia says:

I told my mom she was wearing scarves to cover her face. She didn’t believe me, then we saw Nancy pull up her scarf and bam! She looks great. All of the Democrats are wearing masks while the Republicans are running around exposing everyone to their germs.

  8. FHMom says:

I am envious of her closet. I glad I don’t have to dress like that, but if I did she would be my inspiration. And on an even shallower note, I’ve always thought she is lovely looking.

    • Tiffany says:

Have you seen the photo online of her meeting President Kennedy. If you had told me that was Audrey Hepburn, I would have believed you. What we see of Nancy now was always there, even back then.

  9. Scollins says:

One of the baddest boss bitches on the planet. Love her fiercely. After speaking out on issues supporting her & Dems I was sent a postcard of the memorable moment when at the WHouse she’s standing up pointing and schooling trump and cohorts. She’s the only woman in the room, the only one standing and it is glorious! Note on the card says “I’ll never back down to the bullies, and I know you won’t either. Thanks for having my back.” I know the postcards were no doubt mass produced but I still love it. Nancy and RBG are my heroes.

  10. Lightpurple says:

Nancy Pelosi is the Goddess we need at this moment in time.
She’s my mentor when it comes to dressing professionally in a court or legislative setting.
    Her masks have been fantastic.

And she wields the ultimate in accessories, that only she can summon, The Mace of the Republic. That brooch is a replica of the thing.

    • Alarmjaguar says:

Thanks, I was wondering what it represented. It is fantastic – and a nice reminder of her powerful position!

  11. nicegirl says:

    Fucking fabulous

  12. Diana says:

She inspired me to purchase mask scarves to coordinate with my work clothes when my lockdown lifts!!!! She always looks elegant and carries herself beautifully.

  13. MellyMel says:

I mean, if we’re being honest, we’re probably gonna need to wear masks for a while, so you might as well make them cute! I love it!

  14. L says:

I love this and I love her. She’s always well put together.

    • Tiffany says:

When people comment Pelosi on her style my go to is always, ‘She dresses like a OG with 100 million dollars’.

Nancy Pelosi is beautiful inside and out. I admire her greatly. I’ve mentioned before how she marched alongside us in the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. This was when the Reagan administration was ignoring the AIDS epidemic–no one from the White House would come out onto the mall to speak to the thousands assembled. No national legislators would join the hundreds of AIDS sufferers who led the parade in their wheelchairs. It was also the first time the AIDS quilt was displayed. I still tear up thinking about how brave the sick marchers were, and yet how inspiring. You can see a pic of Nancy (a CA Congressional Rep at the time) marching on wiki:

  16. Gelya says:

I thought the same thing when she wore that pink suit- Girl, is coordinating her masks to her outfit. LOVE IT!

  17. Jess says:

Love her. Love her use of the various masks. As Lainey points out – fashion can be more than just fun, it can be part of the work. And Nancy proves it. These masks are another example – she’s getting attention for the fashion aspect but it highlights the difference between the Dems, who are trying to protect people, and the Republicans who are running around infecting everyone.

  18. Lila says:

It finally paid off to be a fabric hoarder. I have a little assortment and enjoy wearing them (husband, too). Fun masks do make a difference.
