I hope this story either isn’t true or that Gosselin is leasing this vehicle, because it’s way too extravagant a gift for one among a handful of girlfriends. According to InTouch, which probably got this news straight from Jon thrown in with a bunch of other costly gossip, Jon Gosselin bought his 23 year-old college dropout girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, a Porsche SUV worth $70,000. At least it will fit a few of his kids in the back.
Jon purchased his new lady love some seriously hot wheels. He stopped by the Jack Daniels Motors car dealership in Upper Saddle River, NJ, on August 11 to pick out a “sporty but safe car” for Hailey, according to a friend of Jon’s. He settled on a $70,000 Porsche SUV. “He was excited about surprising her,” reveals the friend.

We heard from Radar last week that Jon and Hailey went Porsche and Mercedes shopping, but I was hoping they were only test driving. Jon has a new $40,000 Nissan Nismo Z he purchased this spring as date bait and it’s not like he requires a new car for anything except toting his kids around. Will Hailey have to give the car back once Jon breaks it off with her to run off with the latest woman to stumble into his orbit? Jon is thought to be somewhat cash poor and to be using the tabloids for income now that his ex Kate has control of the family finances. Buying a Porsche for a woman is probably not the wisest financial decision.
Meanwhile Monday’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” got creamed in the ratings when compared against the scary Octomom “documentary” that aired on Fox on Wednesday night. It still sounds like it’s doing pretty well for a cable show, just that the numbers can’t compare to it’s own high ratings when the news of the separation broke. Plus the Octomom thing was a one-off, and people are used to “Jon & Kate” being there every week.
Who says 14 kids aren’t better than eight? More people tuned in to watch two horrifying hours of mothering play out in “Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage” Aug. 20, than watched the Aug. 17 episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” on TLC.
The former had 4.2 million viewers, according to Fox, and “Jon & Kate” had 3 million. “Octomom” special notwithstanding, the “Jon & Kate” ratings are not good news, as they represent a half-a-million drop over the previous week (the show set a series record with 10.6 million viewers for the episode that announced their split).
Initially Fox said if that if ratings for the “Octomom” special were encouraging, they’d consider running more footage as a series in the fall. Brace yourselves.

We didn’t really cover the Octomom show because I personally feel like I’ve seen most of that scary crap on Radar already. Many of the quotes being covered from the show are things we’ve already heard about how Suleman feels like she screwed up her kids’ lives and hates Kate Gosselin. I don’t need a repeat of all that garbage presented to me at once. It’s hard enough to cope with her brief segments on Radar. The American public sadly seems to love it, though. Move over Gosselins, there’s a whole new brand of dysfunction on TV. She’s got more kids and even less scruples, and she’ll lie to you about it with a vacant gleam in her eye.

The ratings for Octomom were pathetic. Network shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX get cancelled when they don’t get 6 or 7 million viewers. So calling Octomom a success is ridiculous. Getting 3 or 4 million viewers on a cable network like TLC is huge. To put it in perspective, Jon and Kate is still TLC’s #1 eventhough its rating is in the 3 million range. I don’t understand why people keep saying Jon and Kate’s ratings are free falling. If people bothered to look at the previous seasons’ ratings, they would know the show was always in the 2-3 million range. It got huge ratings when the scandal broke out. People who never watched the show tuned for 1 or 2 episodes. Then tuned out when it wasn’t what they expected. I think the show will cancelled since the focus has changed and Jon’s behavior is such a turn off.
I foresee non-payment of taxes because he’s broke, and a trip to the pen in Jon’s future

@Shanny, I hate to say it but I wouldn’t be suprised if that college money was deposited at least in part to the public scrutiny they are getting.
I used to love their show, their kids are so adorable. They probably are making bank now from all of the attention, so it’s possible that they just had more money to save. However, I remember back when the show was in its third season, Kate kept saying how they didn’t have college funds for the kids.
Even as a fan back then, something struck me as kind of greedy about that. They were already TLC’s number #1 show, with books and speaking gigs and they hadn’t put away money for their kids yet?
It seems to me that Kate was the one who knew how to manage the finances in that household. Jon will be broke soon if they kick him off TLC, I doubt very much people will care enough to watch him in any other show (the guy is boring and ugly).
It’s official, this guy is a total fool. At this point I would not even want him around my children if I was Kate. What could he possibly teach them? He’s spent the kids money on this meth face. Sad. So sad.
