Very nice gesture from Taylor but holy hell that looks terrible.
Haha, yes. It looks so bad, especially the edges/borders, that it almost look intentional. I know itâs the thought that counts, but having been on the receiving end of so many terrible baked goods, because Iâm known to have a sweet tooth, with handmade gifts, I wish people stuck to what they are good at.
I’m wondering if Taylor did it herself? It’s definitely not very professional looking, but if she did it herself it’s personal and cute.
It’s very definitely homemade. And it’s the thought that counts, but it’s a good thing that Taylor already has a day job.
Embroidering on satin is definitely a tough one. I have a hard enough time with cotton!
I think it’s adorable and would one million times rather receive something like that for my baby (when my baby was a baby!) than a generic machine-embroidered one.
I agree Christy! This is incredibly thoughtful (and valuable, hello!).
My first reaction is “ouch, I would have redone that and fixed the tension on my machine”. But you know, my first sewing projects weren’t the best either. In fact, they looked pretty bad. So, good on her for trying. I hope she sticks with it.
Iâve wondered since Folklore came out if the line in Invisible String â Now I send their babies presentsâ wasnât so literal about an ex (Joe) but also about Katy.
Thatâs a cool catch. In another lyric she also references Bad Blood being on the radio.
I donât know enough about their relationship to being able to parse anything else from it, but I wouldnât be surprised.
Itâs an extremely cute gift!!
Aw, it’s cute.
How do you shop for a multi-millionaires baby?
This is a nice, homemade gift. I like it and I also hope they had made peace with each other, or however the celebs do things. I’m just burned out by bad news in 2020.
A healthy new baby is good news, I’ll take it.
Let’s get thru Monday…Friday is payday.
Agree.
I adore homemade gifts. Someone put time, thought, and effort into making me something? Great! I love it!
A lovely gesture.
Does it look well done? No, but it is adorable and pretty anyway.
Taylor seems like a perfectionist; that being said, thereâs no way she didnât do this on purpose. A perfectionist would never let that go out to a friend.
Iâm really out of the gossip loop, it seems, because I donât understand the Gerard Butler joke…
If you search this site for Gerard Butler and port-a-potty, you’ll probably find it. Unfortunately I can’t link it here on my phone. And don’t feel bad, this incident happened years ago.
Taylor did cross stitch for ed sheeran and its wonky too. The thought that matters and its cute.
She basically sent that baby a million dollars, if she made that blanket herself! Also, thatâs either a giant card and envelope, or the blanket is really small. In any event, cute gesture.
This reminds me of my baby shower way back in the day when a coworker who didn’t have a lot of money gave me a home-made little stuffed heart she had hand-sewn. It was really not the greatest looking item (the look on my hubby’s face – omfg) but she was a genuinely sweet person who really wanted to do something kind. I found it very touching & kept it for a very very long time – in fact I may still have it tucked away in a bin of baby memorabilia somewhere in the garage. I’m not really a fan of Taylor Swift but maybe when you are that rich and can easily buy any extravagant gift without much thought, the things that you actually put time into creating for another person might be the things that means the most.
I like it! It’s cute as well as weird — the blanket is too small, it’s a strange shade, and the embroidery is not good — and I think that makes it the perfect gift for a baby. It’s unique and original and has flaws that make it adorable and lovely in its way and took a lot of care to make, and that’s what a baby is, too.
Look, the embroidery isnât very good but itâs a very sweet present. And if that baby is estranged from their family at 18 then selling it will totally pay for college. Thatâs if they havenât chewed it to ribbons by age 2.
