I’m kind of surprised that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Montecito (let’s make that happen!), didn’t say anything in the 72 hours BEFORE Election Day. I’m sure the British press would have climbed up her ass if she had done that, but whatever. She did a lot of good stuff in the months before the election. So it’s not surprising that *someone* has quietly confirmed to People Mag that she’s voting and she’ll be watching the results tonight. No one knows if she’s already voted absentee or at an early-voting polling station.
Meghan Markle has urged people to vote in many of her public appearances in recent months, and today, she is putting those words into action. The Duchess of Sussex is the first person in the modern royal family to vote in a U.S. presidential election.
A source close to the couple tells PEOPLE that Meghan “is voting in this election,” however, the source would not say whether she voted early or will vote locally near her Santa Barbara, California, home on Tuesday.
During an appearance on the ABC special to mark the annual Time100 issue in September, Meghan said, “Every four years, we’re told, ‘This is the most important election of our lifetime.’ But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard.”
A friend confirms that Meghan and Prince Harry have been watching the events leading up to the election closely.
“They have taken a keen interest in this election and I’m sure they are eagerly awaiting the outcome,” the friend says.
It’s likely that they will watch the coverage and results at their home.
In 2018/19, I thought a lot about the culture shock Meghan likely experienced when she moved to England to marry Harry, but let’s spare a moment to think about the culture shock Harry must be experiencing too. I mean, as soon as he moves to America, there’s a pandemic lockdown, then a massive national racial justice movement, then the particular insanity of the American 24-7 cable news election cycle. Poor Harry, I bet he likes to watch Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes. As for Meg… breaking protocol once again, such a Nasty Woman™.

I’ve had a soft spot for Harry ever since watching the heart-breakingly awful scene of him walking behind his mother’s coffin.
I always believed he was a good person, much like his mom. And, like his mom, I am glad he is out of the clutches of that horrible firm.
I hope he finds all the happiness he deserves with Meghan and their little family.
I don’t remember why but I was under the impression that she had already voted. Good for her for exercising her right to vote. It’s one of our most important rights. Sending luck to American celebitches!

I voted a few weeks ago in person. Now I’m just watching silly cat videos to avoid the news. Kittisaurus is my favorite cat video rabbit hole—10 kitties living in Korea. Highly recommended for sweetness and joy. Their owner puts them through silly challenges, cooks for them, and even speaks for them in funny voices—each cat has a personality (LuLu s the bomb!).
But for Meghan, I’m glad she’s home. The U.K. is not a safe place for her to be, esp. as their media was hellbent on doing her harm and poisoning the country against her. I wonder when the royal rots start complaining about her voting—even if she were still there she should have discreetly voted. It’s her right as a US citizen, and as unwelcoming as the RF has been, they have no right to tell her what to do now. F them. Seriously. The institution is trash.

Good for her. I believe she would have still voted absentee even if she and Harry hadn’t made the decision to leave the UK. She might not have been as vocal about the election or exercising your right to vote. But not even the Queen of England has jurisdiction over a family member who has the right to vote in the election of another country.
I wonder if Autumn Phillips has voted in Canadian elections since she moved to the UK? We just don’t talk about it because nobody cares about Peter Phillips. Well nobody cares now especially since she is divorcing him.

She is a British Royal family member. She’s married to a British prince who will never lose that title even if Duke and Duchess are taken away (which it won’t be). She’s still in the news because the British tabloids keep her there. There are enough people interested in their lies about her that it keeps the money rolling in.
As for this site, she’s also an American celebrity, this is a celebrity gossip site. It’s what we do.
She actually has a huge following now consisting of people around the world, see the Sussex Squad. Prior to meeting and marrying Harry, she had a respectable following so there will always be interest in her even without royalty attached.
