Kitchen appliances, a foaming face wash and early Black Friday deals

Amazon_CollagenHairTreatment
We got a comment in our last Amazon post that the Elizavecca CER-100 collagen hair treatment really works. Souperkay wrote “I bleach my hair and it is slow to recover but this stuff really did make it smoother and give it shine. I left it in for the full 20 minutes but I am pretty impressed.” The Facelift cream I mentioned that I ordered last week sort-of works. It definitely filled some fine lines and laugh lines but the difference was subtle. Here are some more things by request and that I’m interested in.

A foaming face wash with rose and willow bark for sensitive skin
Amazon_FoamingFaceWash
SJ Knows asked in our last Amazon post for a face cleanser for sensitive skin. Bliss Gold Rescue Cleaner is a foaming face wash with rose flower and willow bark. You get 6.4 ounces for under $10. It has 699 ratings, 4.4 stars and an A on Fakespot. People with sensitive skin say it’s non-irritating, non-drying and cleans well. “I wash my face multiple times a day and it doesn’t dry my face out.” “I love this face wash! It’s effective, but gentle enough where my skin doesn’t feel super dry after” and “Actually feels like it’s washing my face unlike so many other face washes. It’s great at removing makeup too.”

A breadmaker under $50 that has great reviews
Amazon_Breadmaker
The Elite Gourmet breadmaker is on sale just today for $49! You can make bread, cakes and even jam and yogurt in it. It makes up to a 2 lb loaf of bread and has 19 presets that include 3 loaf sizes and 3 crust settings. It has 4.5 stars, 428 ratings and an A on Fakespot. All you do is throw all the ingredients in the pan, turn it on and let it knead and bake. You can also use it just to knead and mix dough without baking it. People say it’s easy to make a loaf of bread right, even the first time and that it’s easy to clean. They write “I’ve made bread almost every day, sometimes twice a day, because my family loves this bread so much.” “Nothing like letting the machine do everything for you. you know exactly what goes in your bread. love it.” “Have made bread 3 times now and it has come out perfect.”

A firming cream with collagen and vitamin C
Amazon_FirmingMoisturizer
Instanaturals Firming DMAE cream is on sale for $12.23 for 1.7 ounces, which is a great price. It has 176 ratings, 4.4 stars and an A on Fakespot. Women like the consistency of this cream and says it moisturizes deeply, fills fine lines and does make their face look lifted. “I’ve been using this product for a little over two weeks now, AM and PM, and have definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin.” “ I already see a small difference in my skin. You only need a small pump of the lotion to cover your whole face and neck.” “It was not greasy at all. It was very moisturizing and felt good going on and staying on. My skin felt better and healthier than it has in a long time.”

A BPA free 9 quart three-tiered food steamer to cook a whole healthy meal at once
Amazon_ThreeTierSteamer
Steaming is such a healthy way to cook food, but it’s inconvenient on the stove top. I always end up boiling vegetables and they end up soggy. I looked through several steamers before finding this three tiered food steamer by Rosewill. It’s on sale for under $30, less than the cost of dinner for two. It has over 1,300 ratings, 4.6 stars and an A on Fakespot. Plus it’s dishwasher safe. People say it’s easy to use and clean and that food turns out perfectly in it. “I have had no problems steaming several different foods at the same time. This product is still going strong for me and I consider it to be an essential part of my kitchen.” “I can put a whole week worth of stuff in here and be done with it. I compared several others and chose this one mainly because it’s BPA free. The top pieces nest into each other so it doesn’t take up too much space in my cupboards.”

A huge set of crystals in a gift box for under $40
Amazon_CrystalGiftSet
I only own a few small crystals from stores, but they’re so pretty. I don’t believe in their healing power or anything but I think they’re nice decorative accents. You can get a set of seven tumbled stones, a rainbow pendulum and three large crystals including an amethyst cluster, clear crystal point and raw rose quartz for under $40 in a box suitable for gifting. These are “chakra healing” crystals and you can get larger sets with different crystals under $70. They would make a nice gift for yourself or a friend. They have 4.7 stars, 110 ratings and a perfect score on Review Meta. Reviewers write “The boxes, packaging and crystals are absolutely beautiful and you can just feel that a lot of love and care is put into these products.” “I was absolutely delighted with the whole set! The amethyst custer was a gorgeous deep purple and each of the other stones were gorgeous specimens!”

A tongue cleaner to get the nasties off
Amazon_TongueCleaner
Dr. Tung’s Stainless Steel Tongue Cleaner could make a difference in halitosis for you or a loved one. This has over 644 ratings, 4.5 stars and a perfect score on ReviewMeta. People say it makes such a difference in their bad breath when nothing else worked. They also say it’s better than other, cheaper tongue scrapers. “The difference is night and day! I don’t want to gross anyone out, but this is a must purchase.” “I finally bought this as a last ditch effort and wow… it worked.”

The highest rated pulse oximeter
Amazon_PulseOx
I looked through so many pulse oximeters on Amazon and most of them have fake reviews, with low MetaReview and Fakespot scores. This was the only one with an A on Fakespot so I ordered it. Plus it’s under $20. This is something you don’t want to need, but would like to have on hand. It has 4,600 ratings, 4.7 stars and an A on Fakespot. People write that it gives peace of mind and that it’s easy to use and user friendly. “It works great and the SpO2 level it reports matches that in my Dr.’s office.” “This monitor Is easy to read, fast, and so far, seems accurate.”

  1. Who ARE these people? says:

Has anybody had success making gluten free bread in a bread machine?

    • Venus says:

I will be watching the answers to this question! I saw that their recipe booklet includes gf. Before my husband got diagnosed with celiac, I used to bake bread all the time and miss it. Bread machines make it super easy — if gf bread works in this one, I’d definitely give it a shot.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

Same here…long before my diagnosis (IE when I was always sick but didn’t know why), I had a bread machine. Unfortunately it walked itself off a counter and broke. I assume they work better now and I would keep it safer placed.

  2. manda says:

question: do people steam whole tomatoes like that? What for?

    • Who ARE These People? says:

      1. Hope they pierce ’em in real life! looks good for a photo shoot
      2. So all your food is warm
      3. Some people like them that way.

  3. Ellie says:

I bought the Instanaturals AM and PM serums set y’all recommended months back and I like them. They have replaced a bunch of different The Ordinary serums I would have to layer on, and it takes all of the guesswork of which ones I should buy and in what order I should put them on. So in general, I would recommend this brand!

  4. megs283 says:

Could anyone recommend a thermometer? (For people – not food.)

    • Dazed and Confused says:

I really like the iHealth no touch thermometer that I got at the start of the school year to take temperature. The ones the school provided were consistently reading really low and were clearly not accurate. This is the one I ended up getting — it’s about $40 but worth it. I use it daily.

    • derps says:

I prefer basal temp thermometers. They are more accurate because they are for tracking ovulation. I’m not worried about pregnancy these days, but I still want to be sure the reading is correct when I’m trying to figure out how high a fever is and if we need to go to the doctor. There are a lot of good brands out there, basal thermometers are made to a higher standard just generally so you can pretty much grab whatever at the CVS.

  5. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Omg, funniest thing ever. Just yesterday I put that exact steamer and that exact crystal set in my cart.

    • Celebitchy says:

That is WEIRD AS HELL. I bet it is some Amazon algorithm that suggests things to me based on what people I know are buying.

      • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Which is scary lol. But how else? Last week my husband and I wanted food and we said the same place at the same time, which we hadn’t eaten in more than five years and haven’t spoken about it at ALL. Same thing with something he brought home from the grocery store. We hadn’t spoken about it in YEARS, and the day before he bought it, I did a search to see if it was available. WTF? He said he never saw it online. Either the internet is seriously frakking with us or I have special powers lol.

  6. Snappyfish says:

Just bought the moisturizer. I bought the retinol you recommended before & it was great. Much better & less damaging than what I was purchasing from my dermatologist

I clicked directly through so I hope you get a perk of the sale

  7. JennyJenny says:

I too bought the collagen hair treatment and LOVE it!
It has made my hair feel so soft and is shinier.
    I highly recommend!

  8. Liz version 700 says:

I ordered the freezer roller for headaches and I love it! Most ice packs are hard to use when you are in agony, but the roller isn’t as intense so thank you!

  9. Ms. says:

Everybody buy a tongue scraper. Please. Funky tongue is no fun for anyone.

  10. Antonym says:

Just this weekend I ordered the pulse oximeter from an earlier post (like way earlier). A few other family members still need one so I guess I’ll spread the love and order this new recommendation.

  11. Jessica says:

I love skincare in pump bottles.
