Brooklyn Beckham was just 16 years old when he booked his first job as a professional photographer – he shot an ad campaign for Burberry, and while the actual photos were not widely panned (they were just boring photos), hiring a teenage celeb-spawn was widely criticized. Still, Brooklyn ended up putting out a book of photography when he was 18 years old and that’s when everyone began to really dunk on his photography skillz. He also dropped out of art/photography school at some point, but I guess he still considered himself a “photographer,” even if people weren’t really booking him for jobs? So now he’s returned to the job which most second-generation famous-for-no-reason kids would do: modeling.
Brooklyn Beckham tried to make a name for himself behind the camera as a photographer – but now he’s stepping out in front of it. He has signed up to be represented by one of the world’s leading fashion managers, suggesting he is rebranding as a model after years of the photos he has taken being mocked.
Robert Ferrell is helping to steer Brooklyn’s career, having represented Kate Moss for 22 years as well as her fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova. And it suggests Brooklyn is following in the footsteps of his fiancee Nicola Peltz, who has forged her own path as a successful actress and model.
A source said: “Brooklyn has a recognisable face now and is in high demand in the fashion world, especially as he’s the son of David and Victoria. He has got one of the industry’s leading names to help build him up and bag him lucrative deals. It’s a promising move.”
Brooklyn’s career as a photographer stumbled after his book What I See, his first and so far his last, was brutally mocked in 2017 when he was just 18. It included a picture of a branch captioned “sparrow that flew off just as I was getting the camera out” and a blurry snap of an elephant, which he described as “so hard to photograph, but incredible to see”.
It’s not that I think Brooklyn will become the top male model in the world or anything, but I bet he’ll be a better model than he is a photographer. Setting the bar too low? Sorry. I actually don’t mean it as an insult – I think he’s a nice-looking kid and I bet if someone teaches him how to do it, he will be an okay model. And hey, we don’t have to pretend to care about his photography now, so that’s an added bonus.
True story: I looked on Brooklyn’s IG after I wrote all of that, and the first pic I saw was Brooklyn’s “modeling” a Bvlgari watch… my God, maybe not.
Photos courtesy of Brooklyn’s Instagram.
He’s very average looking but I guess that hasn’t stopped other nepotism models.
He could always get plastic surgery like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. Without surgery that were average looking teens. So sick of the nepotism models
I think Kendall was more interesting and model looking prior to the cosmetic tweeting
Now she looks like a K
While I agree he is basically just an average looking guy nothing particularly handsome about his face, I have to disagree about Kendall & Bella. Well not totally disagree. The have both had plastic surgery. Kendall a nose job, Bella a nose job and allegedly some facial liposuction but they were both attractive girls where the work like many models before them just propelled them into the next level. Granted they had the added benefit of their family background too but they have looks. Brooklyn does not. If I’m being completely honest in less he has some standout amazing personality that I’m unaware of I wouldn’t give him a second glance if he asked me out. Aesthetically he reminds me of Prince (Michael Jackson’s first born son). Nepotism will get him the job but I mean people aren’t blind
Average is putting it kindly. Other than being the spawn of two famous people, how is he suited for modeling? His dad has charisma and photographs well, but he is his mother’s son.
He has her jawline and an impish look. That has worked for female models, but not male models. The men who are hired tend to have strong jawlines and are muscular even if they don’t look like they work out.
He may get booked, but not for his looks. He should try school and learn to work behind the scenes.
He can’t do both ???
More like he can’t do either.
Or he can but only in instagram bio. Not the actual job
@HeatherC thanks for making me lol!
bahahaha
HAHAHA sudden laugh out loud
LOL
😂THIS😂
Jack of all trades, master of none. Not sure what sort of modeling. Even if he wasn’t just average at best, he’s not tall. Having known a few male models they all had beautiful jawlines, and tall slim bodies.
That’s the thing. Brooklyn has no angles, no lines. He’s just soft putty. David photographs very well, Brooklyn, not at all.
@beanie- Agreed, I don’t think he’s good looking at all actually. I think the younger two are better looking with the middle one, who looks the most like Victoria, the most photogenic because he has that angular face.
@BeanieBean – David photographs extremely well.
I reckon he’ll get some angles once the dieting and disordered eating takes hold. If he’s going into modelling, those are extremely likely to be in his future, sadly.
He’s an even bigger bland burger than Kendal Jenner.
I don’t understand how parents who are so driven and ambitious and hardworking continously toss out lazy, entitled, mediocre children who are quite content to ride their parent’s coat tails to fame and the easy life. Do they instill no work ethic or ambition in their children?
exactly–no work ethic in their kids. And why would kids have work ethic? They were likely raised by nannies while parents scratched and bit and climbed their way to the top of their field. Lots of kids of successful parents do nothing because they never had any chance to struggle themselves–parents overindulged them either to keep up with what they thought kids of their station should have, to appease their own vanity by treating their kids as pampered pets, or in a deluded effort to “give their kids what they didn’t have.”
Why should this kid, or any other of his station, be anything more than what he was raised to be, which is nothing? He has money either way.
I had the daughter of a famous actor and another pretty famous woman in her field (not giving too much away!) work for me. She was fantastic and great work ethic. Ran into her actor parent at a party — she introduced us — and at some point he came over to personally ask me how she was doing. (Great! And that’s the truth.) She told me both her parents took her and her siblings’ education seriously and while they didn’t have to struggle, there were expectations.
So here to say, it can be done! Just not for Brooklyn.
That’s good to hear, LeonsMomma. I would think there’s a lot of children of celebrities who actually do work hard and find success on their own, we just don’t hear much about it, because they aren’t looking to piggyback off their parent’s fame. It’d be nice to hear though – so and so’s kid is using their excellent education to go be an environmental scientist, or a teacher, or a doctor, etc.
I know someone who worked their way up from the lowest levels to now run a huge corporation, and they have 2 kids – one very ambitious and hardworking, like the parents, and the other not at all.
I hope Brooklyn finds some other passion in life, because getting nepotism modeling gigs isn’t going to be very fulfilling long term.
At least Kendall is tall enough to be a model.
No idea why they feel this is an option for him
Right?! Brooklyn Beckham could have the luxury to do whatever he wanted with his life since he can follow dreams with money being no object. Atleast it’s more meaningful than half assedly being a model/photographer because why not.
Spend two years doing nothing but learning the piano and being in a random folk band who plays at dive bars just for kicks. Get your ivy league doctorate in computer science and make a robot that cleans up the ocean and enjoy not worrying about tuition or student loans or working for your entire degree.
So much shade! “It included a picture of a branch captioned “sparrow that flew off just as I was getting the camera out” and a blurry snap of an elephant, which he described as “so hard to photograph, but incredible to see”.
I want to see both of those photos so much now.
I know, right?!
Can we caption his ads:
Brooklyn Beckham- so easy to photograph, but boring to see?
Hoo boy, if this kid can be a model…
I wish he didn’t have parents who were entertainers. Please go back to school and get some training…I beg you.
Before his “career” as a photographer, he was trying to get into professional football (soccer). He tried out for Chelsea Football Club academy (junior) team but didn’t make the cut. He might get some model gigs but I think they dry up just like what happened to Kendall Jenner.
He was wearing a watch?? I couldn’t see past all the stupid tattoos. He’ll live off his parents money.
maybe he will be a hand model?🤷♀️ He isn’t exceptional at all…so I lean towards hand model or maybe butt double?
Wasn’t ‘t George Costanza a hand model for a time? I seem to remember him wearing oven mitts to protect his hands. I’m sure Brooklyn can manage the same./s
I’ll wait for his line of luxury T-shirts.
Wasn’t he attending NYU? What was he studying? Can’t he just get a degree and start a related career?
That’s the thing. He was studying photography.
But why actually study and do the work of learning, when your parents can just buy you a book deal??? (sarcasm)
Not model material. He doesn’t have that “look.” If he took that pic of him advertising the watch, the lighting is awful. It makes him look fat. Also, we see his tats first. It should be watch first. But he’s young that he can try many jobs. That’s ok. Still, he’s riding on his parents…and their money. Kind of sad really
ITA. He looks flabby and sullen, hair is greasy and unkempt, and the assortment to tats is just too random. It makes me NOT want a Bvlgari watch, or at least not that one that’s been touching him.
I think I’ll stop teaching and become a “model” at age 61 because clearly ANYONE can!
LOL! Me too.
Ooh gross, I don’t find him the least bit attractive
In picture, he looks all dirty and greasy. Somebody needs to get some Dawn and a fire hose after him.
I think that the pics of him w/ his fiancee and with his dad say it all. Nicola and David have charisma and one’s eye is drawn to them. Brooklyn is basically a prop in the background. I hope he finds his place in the world–it clearly won’t be modeling.
Yeah, I had the same thought regarding those two photos. He’s definitely just background material.
He’s not tall enough whatsoever. And his fiancée is neither a successful actress or model
He’s short, and unattractive. At least his girlfriend is pretty.
Trying to think of something nice to say… well, at least his modeling career will prove that the industry is no longer insisting on unrealistic standards of attractiveness?
The nepotism is strong with this one. Good thing you and your fiancee have rich parents.
Eh. Who needs to model when your fiancee’s dad is a billionaire.
But yeah, he doesn’t have it to be model.
He doesn’t have a model face or body nor the personality/charisma to compensate. He has to face himself and his achievements at some point, he must feel bad on some level even if he’s surrounded by ‘yes’ men.
I agree. He would be so much happier if he learned a skill or trade.
If he didn’t have that last name no one would give him a second look. Just being honest.
Very average looking and not model material – the name is what he has going for him. But he did not get David’s looks – actually none of their boys did, they all look like Victoria and she doesn’t photograph well.
That “mama’s boy” tattoo says it all. Blech.
Average looking is a kind description.
The Beckhams also pushed for Romeo to be a tennis player,at 18 he should have been making waves by now if he was any good. The other one Cruz is suppose to be the next Justin Bieber, all these ‘careers’ seem so forced like they picked them from a hat. And the daughter is still young but she will probably end up being some ‘chef’ since they are now constantly showing her cooking and baking.
Its gonna be a no from me dawg.
He’s got the Carys Douglas problem – very rich parents that want him to have some sort of career in entertainment and no discernible skills or even a face for nepotism modeling. Like if he had the face for it he could easily have been a Kaia or a Hadid or one of little KarJenners or even his little brothers, who actually have lucrative high fashion careers but he just doesn’t have the height or the face. Sorry friend – find something else.
His brothers have lucrative high fashion careers…where ? Lol ,i think one did a burberry spread when they were young and thats it.
ooof – that’s a missing comma problem as the “high fashion” comment applies to the other nepotism models. His brothers at least look semi-good and one of them did that Burberry ad and had a Xmas #1 in the UK I think
Ewww NO he looks like a crackhead from Ohio or Indiana nowhere near Beckham royalty wouldn’t even know who’ he was and wouldn’t cross the street if I saw him my son won’t wont wear whatever he’s selling 🤮 gROS
he just doesn’t have “it”.
Ouch, yeah. I speak as a very non-photogenic (though weirdly telegenic) person: the camera does not love him. Modelling/selling level? yikes.
I agree! In front of or behind the camera. He needs some tough love and fast.
As a professional film photographer found his work was basic at best, it annoyed me to no end that he shot a campaign (which after 6 years of busting my butt hasn’t happened yet) just because of who his parents are. He has never had to work for anything before, so he gave up photography once he realized it is actual WORK. I am sure his modeling days will be short-lived as well. I hope his parents, or someone, steps in and gives this kid some reality before it is too late. 🙁
This kid really needs to figure out his life and get a trade or take some classes. He’s not particularly handsome or striking, or even that tall. From what I’ve seen of male runway models, seriously wants to model, he needs to be leaner, or get a bit more cut in the physique.
Since I was a teen in the 90’s, “male models ” automatically reminds me the names and faces of Satya Oblet, Albert Delègue, Marcus Schenkenberg , Werner Schreyer and Tyson Beckford. Can’t picture this boy in that same field, even with all the good will (and imagination) in the world.
Those guys then were stunning and really buff. Now they’re whippet lean and more androgynous, but still either very handsome or unique. Beckham doesn’t fit not either category.
