In July of last year, Prince William did an interview with the Peter Crouch Podcast. It was part of his short-lived project where he got to Zoom and hang out with footballers under the guise of “talking about mental health in football.” It was very blokey and try-hard and William declared his work on football and mental health completed and done with, because he solved every mental health problem in football by doing some Zoom calls a podcast interview, clearly. Anyway, during the podcast interview, William made a terrible “joke” about how the Uber driver who delivered the takeout food was “getting frisked” on the floor of the palace. Har har, just a bunch of wealthy white blokes making jokes about low-income delivery workers. As it turns out, William was enjoying himself so thoroughly that he “binned off” his next appointment.
Prince William ‘binned off’ his next appointment to continue drinking beer with Peter Crouch while recording an episode of the footballer’s podcast, co-presenter Chris Stark has claimed. Crouch, BBC R1 presenter Stark, and co-host Tom Fordyce, were invited to Kensington Palace in March 2020 to interview the Duke of Cambridge, 38, for an episode of Radio 5 Live’s That Peter Crouch Podcast that was released over the summer.
The group chatted over pints of beer and takeaway curry that was delivered to the royal residence and looked relaxed and jovial in video and photos released from the meeting.
Speaking this week on The Andy Jaye Podcast, Stark, 33, recalled how William, 38, had been due to leave after 45 minutes but ‘binned off’ his next appointment in order to stay.
He added the prince ‘relaxed’ after a few pints and stopped ‘having to think too much about the party line… At one point, this lady stood up to say that he’s got to go on to his next appointment – God knows what that was – and he just binned it off,’ Stark said. ‘I think he was having a good time and I’m sure he’s got his own way of relaxing but in those two or three hours that we were in the Palace, I do think I saw a real side to him.
‘I’ve met him at Radio 1 and it was a very different experience. [At Kensington Palace] I felt like you could have a pint with him and genuinely see what he was about, and I really like him. I genuinely saw a side to him where it was like “you are a young lad as well”.’
It is not known what William had been due to attend that day. MailOnline has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
SMH. All this does is reinforce this image of William as a lightweight, someone careless and ill-prepared. We get these small glimpses of the real William, the one being hidden by the “future king” persona, and they’re always like this. The lazy guy who can’t even be bothered to read briefing memos. The guy who would rather chum around with blokes than keep his next appointment. The guy who talks about watching TV when speaking to first responders. The guy who joked to first responders about the coronavirus on the eve of the pandemic. This is the same guy who bullied his brother out of the country so he, William, could have more attention. So, just to be clear – he’s a rage monster and he’s lazy and he’s also super-careless when it comes to his events and keeping appointments. Got it.

All I can see is how irresponsible this is so it’s clouding my vision. What was the Podcaster point in telling this story? Did it think it made William look good? Added to his “just like you” branding?
I suspect that podcaster will be getting a sternly worded email from KP about letting slip that little titbit.
I expect they will too but I also think the Podcaster may push back letting us know he had the ok from KP to say this until the backlash hit. We all know Will thinks he’s a pr genius no matter how many times it backfires.
It’s amusing to me that William’s carelessness about his obligations to others (skipping out on an appointment so thoughtlessly) was paired with the podcast guy’s carelessness (being indiscreet and tossing William under the bus so thoughtlessly).
No wonder they had such a jolly time together — they are of a piece!
What was the Daily Fail’s point in retelling this story with an online post?
Is the worm turning?
No, it’s to show that William is one of lads. I think this type of story KP wants out there so show William’s not as uptight and unapproachable as people think he is.
So either way, this story is a bad look. I’m going back and forth as to whether KP wants this story out there or not, and whether or not William actually had another appointment that he skipped (because I could see it being a ruse like others mentioned below, but could also see it being true.)
But either way – either William actually skipped another appointment because he wanted to keep drinking beer and talking sports, or he didnt but someone thinks getting this story out there makes him look better because he’s just such a normal bloke. And it doesnt make him look better, it makes him look like he’s workshy.
Just like you he dosen’t always want to go to work. Unlike you he dosen’t have too.
This “one of the lads” messaging is dumb in my opinion. As the next king I would want to be seen as strong and respected, not childlike. Both W&K have the same problem with wanting to be seen like a pack of gullible lambs, so when shit goes wrong they can remind everyone that their new at this and finding their voice. This is ridiculous.
I’m sure the podcaster thought he was making William sound like “one of the lads” but all he’s done is contradict the palace and royal rota rat embiggening storyline that Statesmen Bill is the responsible, dutiful duke who’s ready to be king. Nobody should be surprised that he would blow off an engagement to drink with his football buddies. He has never cared about duty.
So regal! So statesmanlike!
Yeah. My husband plays golf, and he loves to hang out with his friends and play a round, have a drink and joke around, but if he has another commitment, he doesn’t blow it off. And his friends wouldn’t expect him too, because they are also adults.
I thought the podcaster was bragging. “I was so interesting that the future king cancelled a meeting to spend more time with me.” I don’t blame the podcaster. From his point of view it probably was flattering.
I’m not sure he was specifically thinking of William’s PR, nor was he under any responsibility to do so, because he does not work for William.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think William had another appointment. I think his assistant was told by William to give the podcast 45 minutes and then hit stop. He decided he was having fun so he stayed.
This sounds reasonable and is probably what happened. William was enjoying drinking with his buddies. I’ve heard rumors of William’s drinking and wonder if it’s really an issue.
That was my thought too. Giving him the option to get out gracefully if he wanted to.
I agree with that, but we don’t know what the alleged next appointment was. For all we know, it was just a ruse by the staffer to get him out of there, like when you have a friend call you on a blind date to give you an out if it’s not going well.
That seems likely. Or a staffer worried he was drinking too much.
This part. Who knows what Willie is like when he’s had a bit too much. No one wants a treasure mine of secrets and gaffes to loosen up and forget their talking points.
I’m guessing this is exactly what happened. Important people have their staff “remind them of their next meeting” all the time.
true, it is actually quite unlikely Will had *two* engagements in one day lol
So very true. That was probably the only one that week.
I’m late to this convo so maybe another mentioned it, but wouldn’t the appointment have been listed in the court circular? So, if he was expected… to like a patronage that spends their own funds to accommodate him it would be a loss for them. And listed as an engagement.
The pics that you post of this guy crack me up!! Thank you for that.
” I genuinely saw a side to him where it was like “you are a young lad as well”
He is nearly 40, married with three kids and supposed to be in training to become king of a nation, how is he a “young lad”? It beyond time for him to grow up and stop pouting and tantruming to get his own way like a toddler. This is his entire problem, so many people treat him like he is a child, it has left him emotionally stunted.
It’s ridiculous. The man is bald, ffs!
I really hate this lad culture and infantilizing of men, it’s so gross and damaging.
Bald has nothing to do with age*. My uncle started balding at 16, and by 21 had the “fringe” of hair like William. PwBIGT is a wretched baby-man for a LOT of reasons, but being bald isn’t one of them.
*Please be kind. Some people have a dermatological condition called Alopecia, which causes hair to fall out. Some loose it to chemo. At ALL ages. We don’t know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Its very on-brand for Brit men. Which is why theyre the least attractive of all European men. M got lucky wth PH.
A “young lad” who is close to 40. Lmao!
Random:I just noticed William is a leftie.
We don’t want him, thank you very much.
– National Lefties Assn.
I’m a leftie and it actually bothers me that he is☹️. Irrational I know. But Obama is left handed, so I cling to that solace instead😉.
Maybe someone’s idea of what the smallfolk would appreciate–abandoning a work responsibility in order to drink and watch sports. It’s not just condescending, it’s completely out of reality, since most people who have jobs are clinging to them with both hands. Ugh.
Question: Do Brits refer to all Indian food as curry? Cause from what I saw in that video last year what not actually curry but flatbread. Brits do know that there’s more to Indian food than curry right?
There were other pictures of them carrying in silver dishes which I assume had curry in them.
That could be the case.
Yes, they do.
Indeed. Curry Mile will forever have a cherished placed in my heart but I never once ate curry when I was there.
I went back and read the CB post about the podcast when it was first released (July, but it was recorded in March) and William makes a comment about chicken masala (here we always call it tikka masala, not sure which is more correct) and says he doesnt like vindaloo. But that doesnt answer your actual question about what British people mean when they say “curry” – I feel like I often seen in british tv and books people say things like “takeaway curry” and they just mean Indian food.
Oh I forgot that part. And I did noticed that too Becks1 in British shows. I It does irks me cause, why not just say Indian food?
I think those are poppadums in the photo. At a typical British curry house you’d get those at your table as a starter with a raita, a lime pickle (which no one ever touches), a mango chutney, and diced onions with coriander leaf.
Most non-Asians in the UK use “curry” as a catch-all phrase for Indian food irrespective of whether you end up ordering a curry or not. It’s pretty lazy.
Fun fact: in Parliament they have a competition each year where MPs nominate their favourite curry house and a short list of 10 get invited to the House of Commons for a cook-off.
Okay that sounds really fun and delicious.
I just watched “James may: oh, cook!” He’s a Brit comedian doing a cooking show because he can’t cook or something and he had one episode that was Indian inspired food and he called everything curry, and then even said that not everything was actually real curry and his Indian friends would be rolling their eyes at that, but apparently anything vaguely Indian inspired that has curry powder, or any of the component of curry powder, in it is “curry.”
I don’t think this story is as charming as the podcaster thinks it is. It shows William to be irresponsible. He’d rather get buzzed with the bros than take care of business.
That was exactly my impression. This wasnt a matter of William hunkering down in some big meeting where he was really getting into the subject matter and wanted to stay longer, or it was a very emotional meeting*. this was William wanting to drink more beer (it says he had a few pints with them as it was) and hang out with “the boys.”
*For example, I remember in 2016 Hillary Clinton met with the “mothers of the movement” – women who had lost sons or daughters to police brutality – and she did end up canceling her later appointments that day because the meeting was so emotional and so powerful that she didnt want to skip out after an hour. This…..was not that.
This is like when Kate stayed for hours at the Downton Abbey set. They are both shallow and selfish people and don’t actually give a shit about the causes they pretend to care about.
He’s so privileged that he can’t understand how his actions are perceived by other people. Thank god Harry joined the military and went to Afghanistan. I thoroughly believe that experience is the reason why he’s not a complete tool like his brother.
People have been cleaning up after William for ages. This guy absconded with a military helicopter TWICE and got away scot-free!!! He blatantly abused his royal privilege, doing something that should have gotten him fired, and people in the RF, the RAF and the press scrambled to cover for him. He has never faced any consequences for his fuck-ups in his entire life. That’s why he’ll never change and never grow. He knows that he can do whatever he wants and that he’ll always get away with it because he’s the heir.
You know if this was Harry this story would have been reported differently. Since William is into image manipulation like his father, it wouldn’t be surprising to me if the aide coming in saying he had another appointment was part of a ruse to show these footballers he’s just one of the lads. KP is very happy this story got out.
The more stories I read about William the more it gives me the impression that “incandescent with rage” could sometimes be code for rage-y when drunk.
I also remember that at one point his “work” with mental health ended up being him at a pub drinking with men with mental health issues… and that just seemed like the most counter productive thing ever. Why encourage people who are likely going through some form or anxiety or depression to ingest substances that are also depressants.
It just sends the message that social drinking is the way to cope with these issues and it’s a terrible message, and it just gave me the impression that William took on that “job” just so he could have an excuse to be away from his duties and be drinking and call it “work”
Good point. Obviously not everyone who drinks has mental health issues, but alcohol can certainly make some health issues worse and the constant presence of alcohol around William when he’s having this supposedly groundbreaking talks about mental health – it really does come off like he just wants to drink beer and watch football and he’s going to say its about “mental health” just so it counts as work.
The UK has a huge drinking problem though, more so than the US. The highest and second highest for various issues such as binge drinking, heavy sessions, emergency treatment sought after drinking and severe health issues related to drinking.
I’m not sure how that negates my point at all, that William seems to use “talking about mental health” as a cover for wanting to drink and talk sports.
Furthermore, men who suffer from depression are much more likely to self-medicate with alcohol than women, and men generally exhibit other behavioural symptoms than women, including anger issues + substance abuse.
So an event about men’s mental health that is centered around alcohol consumption is a really bad idea. Especially in the context of a culture where excessive drinking is somewhat normalized.
not to mention, alcohol is a depressant.
It trivializes mental illness. It’s as if he were tacitly saying, “Just cheer up and have a pint, and problem solved.” I don’t think I could despise this jackass more if I tried.
Apparently it’s been said that “it’s well known that William is a bit of a douche-bag in certain circles.”
I think the point of the pub visit was to meet the men where they would be most comfortable. The problem is it was not a genuine pub visit. The men who were at that event were already clients of various mental health charities that work with Heads Together. But I think your point about mental health and drinking is a valid one. It may be wasn’t the best place to promote men and mental health and I think William just wanted to go a pub and watch the football match like normal people do. It’s also important to note that it was at this event that he told an editor from the Times that he couldn’t put his arm around Harry anymore.
@AmyBee
Wow thanks for the background on that story, it was a while ago and all I remember was that image of him at a bar talking about mental health and it did not sit right with me.
Looking at it I felt just like @BooBoocita felt, ‘‘“Just cheer up and have a pint, and problem solved.”’—this is exactly what I was trying to explain, that it gave this impression. Thank you
I’ve longed believed he has a drinking problem. It seems like every other engagement of his features beer or liquor. It’s like they can’t get him out of bed and off to an engagement without the promise of alcohol awaiting him.
to me, the message he sent was; all we need for our mental health is to get away from the wives and kids and have a few drinks and laughs. meanwhile, wives are home with the kids trying to homeschool, do laundry, the dishes and dinner.
Funny how his solo mental health engagements seem to consist of him drinking with sports stars. He cares so much, he works so hard you guys! Useless git.
The royal press really loves to infantilism William and Kate the way the press speaks about them you would think their under the age of 12 . Instead Their literally pushing 40 years old with three kids
Not to defend the lazy git, but I wonder if there actually was no appointment and he just asked his assistant to remind him in case he was feeling awkward and wanted to get rid of his guests. He was basically described as uptight until eventually relaxing after a few pints. Like going on a blind date and asking a friend to phone you after half an hour in case you want to cut and run.
That could very well be the case, the woman reminded him to give him an out. This had me thinking that this dude needs a pint just to relax enough to do a podcast with some bros. These weren’t ambassadors or any one “important”. These were just a couple of dudes who seemed pretty chill. If they thought he was uptight I’m wondering how he comes off to those dignitaries he has to meet. Being charming and engaging is low key apart of his job since the royals are diplomats. He should be able to have a conversation with anyone without having to drink a beer to loosen up, especially as a “global statesman.” Those clenched jaws make so much more sense.
Again, I am not a fan of his, but he could be an introvert in which case having his job would be hell for him. He would have to fake being relaxed around people he doesn’t know very well and in crowds. Shudder. I would be in hell.
I think he is an introvert too but that’s the thing with monarchies, you don’t get the top job because you are right for it, you get it because of accident of birth. His personality isn’t well suited for the job and it doesn’t help that he was raised thinking that he deserved it. It’s why he grimaces when he smiles, he just can’t fake it well. I think beers/alcohol help him to loosen up a bit but he still doesn’t get it right as his jokes tend to punch down and is often at the expense of someone else. There is rarely any self-deprecating humour with him.
Everyone assumes that all introverts hate crowds or anti-social, or are shy, and that’s not necessarily the case. It’s also about where you get your energy and how you deal with these situations. You can be introverted but also social, like being around others, but sometimes have to psych yourself up to do it, or need down time afterwards. Being an introvert, which he may not even be, is no excuse for his laziness or lack of preparation, or blowing off other appointments ( hopefully it was rescheduled). Many introverts are extremely professional, show up and do their jobs every day in public service and thrive. Stacy Abrams is an introvert but see how she does her job. She shows up and shows out. This is no excuse for lack of work ethic on Williams part! I’m definitely an introvert but love giving presentations (preparation is key). My husband is a very introverted type, especially growing up, but we’re always the last people to leave parties. I’m cranky and ready to go home, and he’s happy to hang around and chat with random strangers. Anyway, being shy, which is a trait projected on him and may not even be the case, is no excuse for William.
I had the same thought and, so sorry, didn’t read your comment before posting! I’d just have co-signed your perfect comment.
He could be an introvert and that’s fine, but in the real work introverts have to fake it until we make it. There are no excuses for anyone who is an introvert to be so disagreeable and clenched if some aspects of the job make us uncomfortable. If we want to get paid we have to the work, without a pint I might add. Diana got help for her lack of public speaking skills. William has the resources to get better at this sort of thing if that is actually the reason why he is uncomfortable. Maybe he is just a jerk who doesn’t like going out of his way to be competent at his job.
I don’t know but i don’t really buy this excuse because when the podcasters made this schedule with William’s staff, wouldn’t the staff say, “yes, we can pencil you in at this day at this time” and give a time period? These men know that they only have William’s time for a certain period. They would have given the staff details as to how long the podcast would last, the topic etc. So it would be unnecessary for the staff to make this excuse to get rid of the guests since the guests were definitely aware (were told) of how long they can stay. I just find it unbelievable you can set an open ended schedule with a royal. This was supposed to be work. It wasn’t a date nor a social call.
He’s so worthless and lazy, I imagine he set up the assistant to come in at the 45 minute mark and *say* he had an appointment to get to as an excuse to get out of the podcast, but then the pints started to flow and it was fun, not work, so he “binned” off the phony appointment. I just struggle to believe he had a full agenda that day or any day.
I don’t like calling most people worthless butttt
There’s no good way to justify this story. If he really has an appointment, homie was still drinking before work. If he made the decision to cancel earlier because he wanted to drink, he could have done that earlier instead of being inconsiderate. Idk..this is definitely the image Will is going for but I don’t think he understands how we see it.
White men hanging out comfortably over beer? What’s different about that?
I know this sounds like a message from the uptight temperance society, but he likes to do a lot of engagements that involve drinking. Lots of pub visits when discussing his mental health stuff and meeting with dudes. I have to say, he only addresses mental health with men and in a way that excludes women. Even if he focuses on men, he doesn’t seem to do events that ties it together with women or families. Just the lone guy in the pub. Also, why do so many of his mental health engagements have alcohol in it? I know, both with him and politicians, the “guy I want to have a beer with” trope is a way to project relatability, but this sends the wrong message. Alcoholism is serious issue tied to mental health issues, so all these beer summits are not always the right way to project good mental health. I just don’t like the optics of associating drinking and pubs as the only outlet for men to be free with their feelings. I don’t pay much attention to him so when I do, I notice the pub and pints settings a lot.
Because we don’t like him, which makes him lazy at best, workshy as proven and now most likely a closet alcoholic that is abusive and has to drink to barely show up to work.
So this confirms that his hard work on mental health was a total of 45 minutes that day. And there is no way Billy is booked up that much ever. Even a tour doesn’t have back to back appointments.
The assistant was giving him an out in case he wanted to leave. If this was Charles I might believe he has something else booked, but I don’t see how it’s a good look that he would blow off another “work” appointment because he wanted to drink more with the boys.
The crowd that might fall for this is already supporting them. They aren’t going to win new support with this “good ole boy” routine.
What if his appointment was to impregnate Kate again? “So, listeners, that’s the reason there are only three Cambridge children.”
I listen to Chris stark and Scott mills radio show and Chris told that story couple of months ago after the podcast was released. I dunno why the DM are writing about that now unless KP are running dry on embiggening stories and asked chris to embiggen Willie once again with the same story just so the DM have embiggening content.
As for Willie blowing off his ‘next appointment” ??? Well we all know he doesn’t do more than 5 minutes work a day so his next appointment was probably 2 weeks later.
W&K have been MIS since before Christmas. The RR have to write about something.
so what is this, a month long leave? two and a half months off for the summer, one month off for the winter and how long for the spring and autumn? the most expensive public servants.
They are really pushing, “These people are normal normal normal, just like you! Just a normal pair of normal people!” thing really hard aren’t they?
Years ago William and Kate skipped out on some work with (para-lympics? special olympics?) because they said William had military work to do. Then it turned out they both went on vacation instead. But you know what? It didn’t matter then, and it doesn’t matter now. There is NO “qualification” to be king that requires William to be hard working, or intelligent, or educated, or even honest. All that is required is that he has the correct birth, and he does. That’s how monarchies work. That’s why they have no place in the modern world, but this is apparently what the British people want, so that is the price they pay.
Agree. He can be a lazy snob, he can be a great statesman, mercurial or crazy, he’s will get that throne. Look at the history of British monarchs. You get all types from dudes who murder their nephews, execute wives, imprison and torture enemies, and wage countless wars, and bankrupt treasuries to those who are revered and mark a golden age or expansion of empire. The people don’t have a say, all they do is pay.
That trip was when they were photographed on their cousin’s property and then they had to go to court because a French tabloid (or Italian I forget) published the topless photos of Kate and the other activities they did.
They had attended events for the Olympics in 2012 when they were in London, but instead of attending any Paralympic events, they ducked out pretending they needed to prepare for an upcoming tour. While the photos were an invasion of privacy, they did confirm that these two were lying about “preparing” for the tour. The lawsuit about the photos diverted the media from the serious issue of William and Kate lying about their whereabouts. It was a sign of their laziness for years to follow.
Well though, that’s the reason for all these “They are just wonderful normal people!” articles. The royals know they have to maintain their appeal to modern audiences or risk their positions.
Now I know that charles isn’t exactly a shining example of all things good, however he is a professional as far as his duties to the crown are concerned. William on the other hand is a spoiled brat who is full of incandescent rage . What kind of 38 year old adult who supposed to be working on the tax payers dime no less, blows it off to drink beer with footballers?if he is too relaxed and can’t be bothered to do his job, then I fail to see why he should continue to be funded by the tax payers. The monarchy can end after Charles or the queen i don’t really care and Willy the incandescent lightbulb baby can pay him and his own lazy ass wife way in life . I have had it up to my eyeballs with these two welfare prince and princess
Maybe the appointment wasn’t critical. I have been known to cancel appointments to make way for a personal more meaningful moment. I don’t judge William for doing that. I wouldn’t judge Harry either. Sometimes you do what feels right at the moment. You only live once.
I do history stuff for work and a theme comes up over and over again with heirs/royals/inherited wealth people in general, that we see in William all the time.
These people *love* to cosplay as ‘regular folks’ and will have ‘regular people’ imported, curated, briefed and sanitized for their pleasure. Marie Antoinette had an entire village with specially selected “picturesque villagers” (pretty poor people) where she could “play milkmaid” (with solid silver buckets for the milk 🙄).
A Chinese Emperor (Liao Dynasty perhaps?) had a private town built where he could run around pretending to be a beggar in rags, begging for carefully pre-prepared scraps from “townsfolk” (hired actors).
It vibes like that scene in Parasite where the rich people are roleplaying as poor people during foreplay 🤢
This is no different imo – William fetishizes the freedom of being a normal bloke, without the smallest understanding of what it means to provide for yourself. I don’t think he has any real ‘normal bloke’ friends – so when he gets the itch podcasters/normal people are imported, briefed and sanitized for him.
Interestingly I don’t think Kate does this – she wants to be accepted by high society and adored like (insert whichever woman she currently copying). I don’t think she’s very smart, but she possessed enough low cunning to waity his ass and dress like Jecca Craig for a bit. With her – it’s like Kaiser said on a podcast ep about how she’s not the leader of the Norfolk Set but she wants to be etc.
Thank you for this and I agree. I think William likes the /idea/ of being a “normal” person but would not last more than 2 weeks (and I feel that’s generous) actually having to work and earn money.
And Kate is very much the opposite. Her and her family have spent almost 20 years and counting trying to shed their middle class roots, fit in with the aristocracy and act as them but to not much success.
Both of them want different things but the difference is that Kate actually wants to /be/ one of the aristos whereas William just wants to pretend he’s a “normal guy”
I feel that she is “book smart” as she graduated from uni with honors. However you are correct that she lacks intelligence socially and emotionally. There is a level of maturity there that is lacking as well. Cannot read the room well I believe.
She graduated with second class honours, not first class honours. And for an art history and university grad she remains very incurious and inarticulate. She was also known to copy notes and test answers off of class mates often without permission and so her academic credentials are about a legitimate as someone like Jared Kushner since she was known early on as William’s girlfriend which would have been a factor for any professor in terms of evaluations.
(Hi Mia, I agree with your general sentiment but I just want to make a disclaimer that Marie Antoinette built a small rustic village but it had a working dairy farm and she paid for several cottages to be built there for the workers and their families, there were no silver buckets as is often erroneously reported, nor did she dress up as a milkmaid; the latter was a talking point in the “libelle” tabloids of the time to criticize her for wearing cheaper English muslin, and the point of the Petit Trianon was to escape the etiquette of Versailles not fetishize the poor. Marie Antoinette herself established a charitable home for unmarried mothers and liberally patronized the Maison Philanthropique)
I think I disagree though in one way. Kate does do this by constantly trying to portray herself as a working mum with no help.
This incident provides one more piece of evidence in support of my view that heads of state should be selected on merit, not simply because of who their parents were. They should not have to be trained to behave properly, they will already have been through those growing phases and will be well and truly house-trained.
The choice should be made from a pool of mature, accomplished people who have had a full working life and private life and are grownups who have reached a stage in their lives when they are ready to assume such a position. Suitable candidates will have already proven themselves as hard-working and competent leaders who know how to keep their playtime private. Based on his abysmal performance to date, William wouldn’t stand a chance of being nominated.
I agree with you.
William is not a head of state. He ‘might’ be a figurehead in a couple of decades, but I give it a 50/50 shot by the time Charlie kicks.
This!
Meh, we don’t know what the appointment was. Could have just been a weekly check-in with a staff member or something. In my organization, meetings get cancelled at the last minute all the time. No one takes it personally.
If he blew off someone from outside the palace, yeah, that kinda sucks for the other person (especially now that they might find out the reason), but like… have you never cancelled a salon appointment or flaked out of a social engagement in your life? It happens. Unless you were about to perform open-heart surgery, it probably won’t affect anyone’s life.
Ooh it really isn’t a good sign that the Mail is even printing this. In 2014-2016 the love affair between the press and the Cambridges had begun to sour. Then Meghan came along and suddenly they had a new whipping girl, but it looks like the Sussexes’ departure is beginning to turn back on the golden pair. The press’ bottom line matters more than any loyalty to a penis with teeth and a mannequin with a prairie dress and a dumb wig.
Someone previously said in the commentary that William looks like a penis with teeth, and now I can’t get that image out of my head every time I see his photos. 😂
lol this screams “immature” & “lack of commitment”, this is not what KP wouldve wanted at least not how it randomly came from the podcaster months after for his own self promotion. This brings back his do little nickname by uk tabloids who currently worship him.
