I might think Stephen Moyer is kind of dreamy if it didn’t look like he was sucking in his cheeks and pouting whenever he’s caught out in LA by the paparazzi. There’s something arrogant about the guy, and I confirmed this suspicion by watching a few recent interviews. (He’s very charming when he speaks with his natural British accent, though, and not in that weird Civil War-era drawl. “Suh-key is ma-hine!” You can tell that he’s really into Paquin too and is genuine about her.)
Anyway, the final episode of Season 2 of True Blood airs this Sunday on HBO. Many of us are looking forward to it with bated breath, especially since the show so loosely follows the book series that it’s impossible to guess what will happen. Moyer tells us that it’s going to be wild, and he also heaps praise on his fiance and on-screen love interest, Anna Paquin, saying that it’s a “glorious luxury” to work with her. I would find that swoon-worthy if this guy didn’t rub me the wrong way. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but I think that “stuck up” sounds and looks the same in most countries:
Playing a vampire on a hit show at a time when vampires are taking over pop culture is a “pretty sweet feeling,” according to True Blood’s Stephen Moyer. But working with his fiancée Anna Paquin is a real “glorious luxury.”
“We are very relaxed together on set, off set and that can only help with some of the things that we get asked to do,” Moyer says of their job, which often includes blood-sucking sex scenes.
Now happily engaged, the costars previously kept their relationship a secret on the set of HBO’s supernatural hit.
“We were very, very cagey,” says Moyer, 39. “We kept tabs on our own relationship, let alone telling anybody because we were very concerned about how it would play out given that anybody who signed up to do one of these series signs for seven years. So, you don’t take a decision like that lightly.”
As the couple, who play Civil War veteran vampire Bill Compton and sweet clairvoyant waitress Sookie Stackhouse, realized there was something serious going, they decided to bring their relationship into the light of day.
“If there is an inevitability to something and there is absolutely no way that that thing can be halted, then you have to go along with it,” Moyer says. “When we realized it wasn’t just some fickle infatuation or chemistry or whatever, we were able to, months later, tell everybody that we were working with.”
There’s reason they’re called actors, apparently. “Everybody was shocked,” he said of sharing their news with the cast and crew, “so I think we’d done a good job of hiding it.”
As for True Blood’s season 2 finale, which airs Sunday (9 p.m. EST) on HBO, Moyer says there will be blood — and cliffhangers and resolutions.
“It’s everything that you would want from a season finale,” he says. “But I don’t even want to make a hint at something because it’s so f–ing crazy. I could tell you something that’s going to happen, but you just won’t believe me, so it’s almost pointless.”

Spoilers for past True Blood episodes, sort of
I can’t wait to see what happens on “True Blood” on Sunday, but whatever goes down I really, really hope that Marianne is unequivocally killed. That character plays a much different role in the Southern Vampire Mysteries book series on which True Blood is based, so there’s no telling what could happen. Marianne needs to be offed, though, and I don’t want to see any damn cliff hangers that drag on into next season. That said, I wouldn’t mind if Sookie mixed it up a little and got into the sack for real with Eric. The dream sequences can sort-of satisfy our thirst for seeking hottie Alex Skarsgard’s beautiful body, but I wouldn’t mind if Sookie got tired of Bill and moved on to the hotter vamp. Maybe a new plotline in which her character falls for the viking would help keep her real life fiance on his toes. He seems to be into her, for now, but I just get the feeling that he’s a little too into himself to fully commit. I hope I’m wrong, and he is engaged to her and is speaking about her in glowing terms to the press. That counts for a lot.

Mmmmmm…Eric…First blonde I ever thought was hot! But hot he is!
LOVE TRUE BLOOD!!
Yowser! to the last pic. His blue eyes look mesmerizing. I can see why Anna fell for him. I don’t get an arrogant vibe from him, he just seems a little stiff/reserved sometimes.
*stares at pic some more*
I know I’m in the minority here but I find him hotter than Alexander Skarsgard. Different strokes…
I prefer Vampire Eric’s ‘gracious plenty’.
I dunno. The bouncer at the pub I go to is a huge fan of the series so he kinda filled me in on the books. Apparently, Mariann is abated with a dead hog sacraficed and just up and moves on. If they try to pull that off in the show I’m seriously going to be pissed. I want some high action drama dammit! And I like seeing Bill and Sookie together. In my mind, if a man is that willing to go to extremes to keep you happy and protect you and your family, the way he has done, she better show him some damn loyalty!
In that vien, it sure would be nice to be paid to love on my man allday! Its like that country song ‘if I could make a living out of lovin you’.
Shut up already, Stephen. We get it.
Your relationship sparkles!
I’m sorry but who says crap like “glorious luxury”? Could he be more pretentious? I think he’s in love with how they look together and the attention more than he’s in love with her.
Arrogant? Try charming with a great sense of humor! Maybe you’re confusing “stuck up” with British formality.
As for Stephen and Anna….It looks like they are both very lucky to have found each other.
Stephen Moyer doesn’t come across as stuck up at all, IMHO. He’s one of the most charming actors to venture to this side of the pond, and he and Anna Paquin are a very down-to-earth and talented couple. A breath of fresh air.
I find him completely lovely! Funny, charming, polite, British, etc.
All the press is asking Anna and Stephen about right now, since they announced their engagement, is their relationship. It doesn’t seem like he’s always bringing it up himself. The media is the one hounding them for soundclips on their relationship.
I’m so sick of these two already. And “Eric” isn’t Eric. He’s a poor facsimile. The scene where Tara’s mother morphs into Eric before a panic stricken LaFayette I thought was a joke at first. I thought that Eric was Jim Carey or some nerdy nerd. He didn’t look ominous, he didn’t look huge and warrior- like, and he didn’t look drop dead gorgeous, or anything close to it. I AM HUGELY DISAPPOINTED with the triumvirate in this series. Sookie, Bill and Eric SUCK. I tried and tried and tried to like them. Fine’.
so interesting–she looks like Holly Hunter now, with whom she starred in Piano.
What could happen that is so out there that we wouldn’t believe it if we heard it?
Can we start a betting pool?
My bet if for intimacy – kissing or more – between two of the straight male leads, most likely Bill and Eric.

And this. I really agree.
To all the others, I’m sorry, but i find it completley disgusting to bash someone who doesn’t deserve it the slightest. Find someone who does deserve it instead. Some have just made up their mind to not like him, for some reason, and then take whatever he says and twists it to a bad thing. Talking about their relationship too much?? Really?? Seriously?? That’s all you got??
Grow up.
The dude would look totally great with grey hair – that said, what shade of miss clairol does he use?
Why do celebs feel the need to over-sell their personal relationships? Usually when couples do this, things aren’t really as lovely or “luxurious” as they are trying to portray. Just shut up about it and keep it personal.
This never ends up positive. They should take a note from Rpatts and KStew by never acknowledging their relationship. Leave the public guessing. This way when/if a break up happens, they won’t look stupid.
British accent….swoon*
i’m confused. wasn’t he married when he met anna or is that another couple?
Le sigh…Anna Paquin has the most beautiful lips.
love the show but those are the worst southern accents. ever.
The Bill character has always really bugged me, but then I saw Stephen in a few interviews and I found him to be likable and charming, and more attractive than he appears on the show (those bangs!). I don’t think he’s talking about the relationship too much – there’s a lot of press right now because of the finale and he gets asked about it. If he continues to bring it up in every interview and on unrelated topics (ala Brad Pitt’s unrelenting “I have six kids, I’m a dad now, blah blah blah) then I’ll get annoyed. But right now, it’s alright. He and Anna seem really happy together and that’s great. And I don’t think he was married when they met, but I might be wrong.
Despite all that, I am 100% team Eric, because the character is awesome and AS is beyond hotness, especially in that role.
