For years now, whenever the Duchess of Sussex is in the news and the British media is being insanely nasty to her, there’s usually some weird counterprogramming coming out of Kensington Palace about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Like, 9 out of 10 headlines are “Meghan eats kittens for breakfast, Piers Morgan reacts” and then the tenth headline will be “Duchess Kate loves the color pink!” So it is at the moment. With everything going down with the Sussexes right now, *someone* wants to remind us that we’ll soon be celebrating a decade of Duchess Kate. The Cambridges’ ten-year wedding anniversary is coming up in April and so gird yourself for these sugary, vague f–king articles about how Kate has only recently grown in confidence, or started picking out her own clothes, or wiping her own ass, or finally achieved the much-promised keenness. Here’s the current story: Kate has grown in confidence as a fashionista in the past three years. Weird timeline, tell me more.
As Kate Middleton gets ready to celebrate 10 years as a member of the royal family, one author explains why the Duchess of Cambridge is making style headlines now more than ever before.
“I think she has become a lot more confident,” Bethan Holt, author of The Duchess of Cambridge: A Decade of Modern Royal Style, says in the first issue of PEOPLE Royals. “She started off quite tentatively finding her way and very conscious of her place in the family and I think as she has taken on more responsibility, you really see that in her clothing.”
According to Holt, who also writes for the U.K’s Daily Telegraph, Kate’s clothing budget may have increased over the years but her overall style has simply gone up a notch. “She’s always been very ladylike, elegant and put-together, but she has really polished up her appearance over the last three years.”
It was after having Prince Louis in 2018 that Holt says Kate really started to take small but noticeable style risks. Arriving at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to open a new photography center in October 2018, Kate wore a striking look by the British-based designer Erdem. Her checked midi-length boucle tweed dress had a slight off-the-shoulder neckline and featured crystal and pearl buttons. With her signature bouncy blowout, she accessorized the chic look with a cluster of sparkly brooches and sky-high red velvet heels.
Earlier that year, there had been subtle signs that Kate was on a style mission. At Louis’ christening in July, she wore an oversized embellished hatband by the British milliner Jane Taylor that sparked the beginnings of a millinery trend. “It was on the Prada catwalk a few months later,” says Holt, adding that while the padded hatband was divisive at first, it became her signature and much-copied look. “She’s worn velvet ones, Zara ones — she’s really made it her own.”
In the coming months, Kate continued to debut a new, more fashion-forward, polished look, wearing trousers (a first!) on numerous occasions, favoring up-and-coming designers and choosing bold pieces from luxe labels. Visiting a children’s center in Lambeth, London, in March 2019, she wore a vibrant lilac pussy-bow Gucci blouse, teamed with black wide-legged trousers and a matching lilac top handle bag from Aspinal London, a professional but glamorous look not seen before.
Over the years, Kate has often adopting a high-low approach to royal dressing. On an official visit to Ireland with Prince William last year, she wowed in a luxe sequin cocktail dress from The Vampires Wife and the following day wore a white Reiss coat, that she had kept in her closet for over 13 years.
“That was a real stroke of genius,” says Holt, who says the secret to Kate’s sartorial success is to look appropriately regal but never above her position. “The Reiss coat was a reminder of the girl that she once was, before she had all these responsibilities and it was a really good example that clothes aren’t just clothes, they are telling a story.”
Again, “she has really polished up her appearance over the last three years.” Nary a mention of the fashionable American who married Kate’s brother-in-law, the same person whose style Kate visibly began to copy and Single White Female. Meghan carried a cute handle-top bag and suddenly Kate had one too. Meghan wore trousers for her first outings and suddenly Kate wore them too. Meghan wears separates and suddenly Kate ditches the dowdy Victorian coatdresses and discovers separates as well. And on and on. It’s not really the case that Kate suddenly grew in confidence overnight either – it’s that Meghan’s entrance on the scene changed the media landscape overnight. Suddenly every British paper was praising Kate to high heaven as the good duchess, the white duchess, the duchess who gets coddled and infantilized and never puts a foot wrong.

And funny how her style went right back to cosplay Diana/Little House on the Prairie the moment Meghan left the scene. She didn’t have anyone to copy and so defaulted back to Victorian Button Chic.
That’s because, not only can she not think for herself, but she is a follower, not a leader. Kate apparently can’t think for herself, and I’m not say this to be mean, but it’s how she has been portrayed for years now by the narratives I’ve read…..and her actions, or lack thereof
That’s maybe part of why this smoke blowing annoys me so much. So she’s a follower; many are. I don’t care, hell, I’m probably a follower far more than I like to admit, but don’t tell us she’s a leader when she’s not.
Oh dear. They keep trying to make fetch happen. I don’t know anyone under 30 (or even 40) who likes her style or thinks she’s a style icon. Heck, even the queen is more fashion forward than Kate!
Kate knows her stans. Her stans are the commentariat of The Daily Fail. The Daily Fail subscribers and regular posters take pride in Kate dressing like Queen Mary and QEII in dowdy beyond dowdy clothes.
They really think that PRADA is getting its style cues from Kate? Sure….go on, I guess.
And yes, the emphasis that all this happened after “Louis’ birth” without mentioning that Meghan married into the family around that same time….they know what prompted the change, they just cant admit I guess.
They’ll never give meghan credit for anything
@ becks 1, they won’t admit it because it’s a flat our lie!! They are continuing the re-create the story line of history!! No, it was Keen Karen who was first spotted wearing luxurious wide legged pants and the striking ensemble first, NOT Meghan!! On and on and on again…..lies
Man, I used to hate it when commenters here did that. I would see comments like “Kate’s come out of her shell since Louis’ birth”…”She’s so confident now”. Like the lady was on her third child. If the first and second child didn’t do it, the third one definitely didn’t do it, either. The addition of a new family member did prompt a change, but it wasn’t Louis.
Some women just don’t suit designer clothing and Kate is one of those women. Everything expensive on her looks cheap or tacky. She does best with dead simple styles and colors. Even this wisteria blouse doesn’t suit her. The best she looks is in light, neutral colors and simple shapes. Navy and black are even too much for her.
@Becks I actually laughed out loud at the Prada thing
Between Meghan joining the family and Williams affair (allegations) all around the time of PL not sure if the change was one or both. Becoming irrelevant is not something I see her or her mother allowing.
Exactly
Gucci blouse is backwards.
This. She wore it backwards and tied the bow wrong. If you are going to drop $1300 on designer 80s redos, at least wear it properly.
Is that the purple one? Gawd I love that color though, backwards or forwards.
Kate stan: “She must have done it on purpose! So fashion forward!” I’m embarrassed I ever thought Kate was kind of cool (back in the olden days around 2011).
Have any of the BRF ever had good fashion sense? I mean, I know it’s subjective, but they all dress like grandmas – church day grandma, after-church grandma, fancy church event grandma.
The queen actually used to have some style, especially for formal occasions. She dressed better for formal occasions than Kate does now, lol. I just think its that the Queen’s style hasnt changed in 50 years. She wears the same kind of coats in 2021 that she wore in 1971, you know?
And I do think Anne used to be pretty stylish, still pretty conservative but there are some pics of her from the 60s, 70s and 80s where she looks pretty chic. Again, its just that she still dresses the same, lol.
The problem with Kate is that she looks to the queen for fashion and style, but the queen didnt dress in such a stuffy manner when she was 30. Kate is looking to a 95 year old woman for fashion advice and thats part of why she seems to be floundering so much.
Agreed. The older royals like the Queen and Anne were stylish in their day, but they’re both now in a rut from decades ago. As Becks1 said, Kate is copying the style of a 90-year-old because I guess that’s how she thinks royals dress, but it’s really how posh 90-year-olds dress.
Anne in the 60’s/70’s fashion sense gives me life. Stunning. She still wears clothes that she has been wearing for 40+years.
I completely agree. The queen had a great figure, has an eye for fashion and wore some stunning dress from great couturiers. Beatrice’s wedding dress was one of her old dresses. Kate on the other hand…………
Anne still has a great figure.
Charles is a pretty natty dresser, and always has been. His casual style, so to speak, leaves a lot to be desired unless he’s dressing for hunting or a walk on the moors. But the bespoke suits and Savile Row tailoring are on point. He’s never trendy or au courant, but always classic. And when she was younger, Margaret had some cool looks, like Pucci prints and 1960s sheath dresses. But all of the women in that family, iincluding Margaret, seem to turn into grandmas or matrons as they approach 40. Kate skipped “cool mom” and went straight to “uncool matron.”
I’ve always that the royal men have it much easier than the women. They can put on a military uniform or a suit. It’s hard to screw either of those things up.
I think Charles one time gave the quote that his fashion was like a stopped clock, right twice a day, lol, because he’s another one who has not changed his fashion in 30 years but it works for him.
And I wonder why Kate cosplays Elizabeth and Anne. It’s stupid, because mostly boomers like it. She has that 50’s vibe and not only for her dress style. They’re loosing zoomers, really. If Kate was a bit more modern and if Meg and Harry could stay in the RF it would be much better.
I think it gotta be hard for the institution in the nearest future. They don’t have any connenction to the young generation.
The literal dresser that cosplays as flags?
Sure, Jan.
Also who is taking these insane candids of her? They look manic every time I see her and Prince PWT.
I haven’t read the post yet, but I wonder what or rather who caused Kate to polish her appearance in the last three years? LOL
Now that I’ve read the post, I don’t know how Bethan Holt could mention Kate wearing pants and not say she started wearing them after Meghan came on the scene. It’s obvious that Kate new polished look was based on what Meghan’s style and still is today when you see Kate is now frequently wearing long coats.
Such total drivel. She has never, ever been a fashionista-and she’s had just as many misses (that polka dot dress and green ensemble make me shudder) over the last few years as she ever had in the previous eight. These stories are just so stupid.
Yes, the green outfits for the Irish tour were overdone and that green “mermaid” dress was hideous. The stories are stupid because it’s all they’ve got with her. Clothes and kids, nothing more.
I won’t have a word said against the green salad dress. I couldn’t believe her stylist convinced her it was a great idea. That was next level trolling.
Which green dress are we making fun of? The one she wore for the arrival (with the black headband) or the horribly sparkly one she wore for the evening reception?
the pink polka dot dress was one of her worst looks ever, lol. I sometimes wonder if her stylist just pulls out the ugliest dresses she can find to see if Kate will ever say no.
That green monstrosity she wore in Ireland is the stuff my nightmares are made of. She should burn it.
I’ve said it before but the Ireland 2020 tour was truly one of her worst sartorially. I liked the coral sweater and white jacket and maybe 1-2 things I’m missing but everything else I disliked.
I crack up every time I see the phrase “lettuce dress.” No better way to describe that green-on-green monstrosity.
That leopard skirt look is new to me. I had to zoom in to see that the “fine print” was different on her usual silhouette. Girl really needs to give a Ted Talk, “The Dowdy Duchess: Styling Leopard as You Would Tartan and Houndstooth.”
It’s that green sequin dress, the most horrible use of sequins I’ve ever seen. Meghan wore her sequin much better.
I suffered second-hand embarassment reading that garbage. It’s truly pathetic. She’s a lousy dresser and I felt bad for her because I figured some idiot in the palace was dictating that she looked like a child-matron. I don’t have the words to describe the fashion sense that makes her both look like a child and a conservative older woman from 20 years ago. But pretending that she’s in charge of that look or that it’s a remotely good look is so, so stupid. The palace and its sycophants don’t know what their doing.
Don’t forget the hot pink coat she wore to a 9/11 memorial. But I guess that was better than having her flash the world, so yes, baby steps and constant praise for her, while Meghan gets dragged for wearing Jean’s to Wimbledon.
I do think it’s natural as a woman gets into her late 30’s early 40’s her style choice are more confident as she becomes comfortable with who she is as a person.
Yes, Tulipworthy, but she isn’t confident and she has zero style taste or ability to create a ensemble worthy of new and daring!! Meghan has style, fashion sense and has a following of style lovers but Keen Karen only has capabilities to copy not create. Big difference!!
BothSidesNow, It’s interesting to me when they do these pieces on Kate. I agree that she copies. Except with all of her sister wife dresses. If that is Kate choosing her own style? Well, enough said. I read this article and came away with a couple of thoughts:
1. After 10 years married into the brf, her claim to fame at 39 years old is finding her fashion style
2. She’s spending more money on clothes–well, I guess we need to keep an eye open to see if we can determine how much she’s spent, because we know that there wasn’t money for Meghan
3. There are several points made in this story where you can find BM articles ripping into Meghan for doing the same thing–do they think that no one remembers for longer than five seconds?
Umm, she can polish all she likes, but she won’t ever be like her sister in law in appearance. By light of day she looks unnaturally thin (for her) and aged. She relies heavily on cosmetic interventions, which may not seem so apparent over zoom. These are not evils in themselves and are superficial to point out, but if this polishing up is really seen as a noteworthy achievement for Kate, they are valid and sadly say so much about the woman. Because how often do we hear about her looks, her make up, her recyling of outfits. Really, it is insane. These articles far outnumber those about her work, her projects, her relevance. What has she done in these three years? There’s been a ridiculous and basic foray into early years education, which must insult even the most entry level professional in the field, and a book of photos. Hold Still is so funny, because it’s literally what she has done, more or less, for years. Polish up on your work ethic.
She is so, so painfully thin for her body.
What’s the saying again? Can’t polish a…button?
My response to this latest embiggening is-nope.
Ha ha!
Trying to wipe Meghan out of history altogether. It’s sort of pitiable because this could’ve been a good policy if they had stuck to it earlier… But luckily they didn’t, and tea continue to be spilled.
Kate has grown up so much! She learned how to dress all by herself guys! She is such a big girl! She’s almost 40 and Karen still doesn’t have a personal style, never learned to do her makeup, can barely dress herself without copying her SIL or looking like a victoria cosplay gone wrong. Is this what the monarchy is supposed to aspire to? A FFQ who’s only talent is to wear something that isn’t even cute? The monarchy is royally fcked.
I personally think her early years were a lot more risky. She was wearing skirts that she knew were gonna fly over her head at the slightest gust of wind. That’s pretty confident lol
Agree, she was playing for the paparazzi endlessly trying to get a copy of that windy Marilyn Monroe shot. Utter narcissist. Not too pleasant when you’ve done the Lindo steps three times and are pushing 40. I think she’s been told to wear trousers as nobody wants to see an aged bum.
I personally think her early years were a lot more risky. She was wearing skirts that she knew were gonna fly over her head at the slightest gust of wind. That’s pretty confident lol
That is so funny and on point. Thanks for the laugh, Mina!
I think her style has moved backwards. I thought Kate dressed very chic and stylish in her first couple years of marriage. It’s gradually gone downhill.
Agreed! I loved watching what she wore in the early years. She bores me to tears now.
Notice that every single time they have to prop kate up the only thing they can talk about in dept is her fashion? (For as far you can talk in dept about fashion lol)
How embarrassing. Been at the role for nearly 10 years, been a royal girlfriend 10 years before that and the only thing tabloids can fawn over are your kids and your clothes.
And her fashion sense is truly shambolic, so not even a good brag.
I’ve said this before, but Kate has bought into what I call woman’s kryptonite–the desire to be liked. (Men’s kryptonite is pride–kryptonite being the thing that weakens a person and leads them to acting in their own worst impulses)
When women put the desire to be liked above all else, they undermine their intellect, their talent, their abilities, and their creativity. In return, they might get a pedestal to be placed on, but it’s precarious existence. Their placement there will likely be at the expense of other women, women who could have been allies and partners. Their placement is also conditional–they must maintain their appearance at all costs. They can be toppled from that pedestal in an instant, and when they are, they are offered no protection from having been there (the Cool Girl who finds out she was just another “some bitch” after all).
Kate: admired by many, liked by some, respected by no one.
I agree with what you said but i don’t think it necessarily applies to kate. She doesn’t have to do much to be liked. She has a whole establishment making sure that she isn’t disliked. And i fail to see what kind of talents she posses? Her pre-royal days weren’t that impressive.
I wouldn’t say Kate is admired except by her racist fan base. They don’t even like her that much. What they like is what she stands for. She is white and will not ‘pollute’ the bloodline and will also fall in line with the wishes of the monarchy, press and establishment. She will never make a worthwhile impact or contribution despite all that is available to her. She will also spend most of her life hoping William does not divorce her. Pretty sad existence really.
Agreed. While Diana and her fashion were polarizing, she definitely had a personality and stood out. Kate is just empty these days. I’ve said it before, premarriage and pre children Kate had a little fire. She’s just a sad empty vessel now.
She dresses like actual upholstery half the time. What drivel did I just read??
Lol. The loveseat in granny’s parlor.
Yeah, but Bethany Holt is a fashion editor from the Daily Telegraph, where there’s nothing but batshit gushing sycophantic drivel about the white royals. Nonsense like ‘Kate the Great Delivers a Masterclass in Beige Shoes!’ You have to make certain allowances for them being a bunch of brainless suck-ups crawling right up the arse of the RF.
That is really funny (and also true), especially because as a royal gf palace staff are said to have called her ‘the mattress’, as she only arrived at Kensington Palace for the night and was gone by morning.
Did this article seriously mention her clothing budget increasing over the years? I thought Meghan was the one who spent too much. And she dared to wear a “divisive” headband? How brave and inspirational. Is this article seriously supposed to be flattering?
Kate dresses like my grandmother (and I am in my 50’s). Fashion, poise, stature, beauty and personality of Duchess Kate are eclipsed by Duchess Meghan. While Kate is a very nice looking woman, she will never have the inner glow that M has. Side by side K looks old and haggard with the fashion sense of a doily.
There is no explaining awful or lack of taste. As they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
The celebration of her 10 years as a member of the royal family, will be totally tasteless and boring as she has accomplished nothing in terms of work but if the press absolutely wants to celebrate this here are the great accomplishments of Kate for 10 years:
– Two of royal’sponsorship was closed due to lack of funding
– She broke a 115-year tradition of distributing shamrocks to the Irish guards becausz this day she was prefered going to shopping
– Wear a hot pink coat for the 9/11 Memorial in New York.
– Wear a floral cocktail dress with sandalwood to visit a concentration camp in Poland
– Miss the London Paralympic Games for to go on vacation
– Flash his buttocks in the four corners of the Commonwealth countries
– Still unable to give and memorized a speech or read notes
– Answer a poor young child “ah! it’s interesting” when he tells who is mutilated to earn more money by playing the round.
– Making her sister-in-law cry and then trying to pass herself off as the victim
-Exploit the death of a woman to get a good press
And I can still continue to quote his greatest moments but it will be too long.
How much do we all want to bet there is a giant stockpile of this stuff ready to go live the minute Harry and Meghan’s baby is born?
I know we like to poke some fun at her style, or lack of thereof, but next time you guys are in London go for a stroll down Kings Road and Chelsea and you will see the style she cosplays. Not just clothes, but hair, makeup and jewellery. She is very much your Sloany Pony type.
Exactly. I remember an early report where a courtier divulged that not only was Meghan the most intelligent and professional woman in the room at RF meetings, but she also caused people to double-take because of her beauty. He said Kate, without her notoriety, could walk past you unnoticed because she’s no different from the average sloane type you bump into walking to and from work in London.
How can anyone call that vomit looking green dress from that Irish tour anything other than fugly? Oh for all things Holly, Kate style is grandma curtains and tablecloth. If they mean by stepping up her style that she copied Meghan and when she left she went back to copying the queens mom drapes then sure, Kate the great has nailed it.
Appearance is all she had and that too is withering away right in front of our eyes. When she got married, I thought finally these boring people will have a pretty face. And those days her fashion was hyped a lot. But it became boring as time went by.
I remember when Meghan wore pants, there were many articles on she’s breaking protocols and the Queen likes her royal women in dresses and skirts. And now when Keen wears them, she has found her confidence 🙄 and let’s not forget first she used to copy Diana, and now it’s Meghan. And some say 🌹 and jecca too. She can do whatever she wants she’ll forever be in Meghan’s shadow.
Willing to bet her team keeps an eye on Meghan’s fashion choices just like they did with the zoom setting. Meghan may be out of the country and the royal sphere but she’ll continue to be a template for Kate both in fashion and in action.
“She’s always been very ladylike, elegant and put-together…” What the f*cking f*ck?!
So revealing her butt numerous times is ladylike?
(FFQ) “Biscuit Flasher” was her name here for YEARS.
Looking at the photos of Kate in Ireland – Have I got this wrong or probably it’s been discussed before and I’m stating the obvious, but I thought Meghan’s farewell tour, where she looked utterly gorgeous throughout, was a themed Union wardrobe. Red dress, white jacket, and blue (turquoise) dress, finishing with her Commonwealth green outfit being a nod to Ireland. I think the order was disjointed because of the red to match Harry’s military event, which came after her Victoria Beckham blue dress event. The thing is, Kate’s clumsily themed wardrobes stick out like a sore thumb; whereas, what Meghan does is so subtle and sophisticated it doesn’t seem obvious. I stand to be corrected.
What about the Rose Hanbury angle? It seems more likely that Kate would suddenly care about updating her look in the aftermath of her husband’s most devastating affair to-date.
Did Kate hitch a ride on Meg’s coattails to achieve a better style? Absolutely. I just don’t think that was a goal in and of itself. Kate could’ve upgraded her closet AND curated an image of sisterhood with Meg that would have pissed off her cheating husband. That would have been great.
English Brit here, brought up to believe in 1960s “Monarchy”, despite their antics that would make Caligula blush. Margaret was spoiled and out of control, only tolerated because she was the default “Queen’s” sister. How the heck the bounty-hunting Middleton family with Uncle Gary thinking money buys class, were able to get anywhere near William, eludes me.
He should have gone to Oxbridge or the Royal Agricultural College, not St. Andrews where he holed up with Kate.
He wanted to leave after the first term. He didn’t like St Andrew’s or his course. Kate persuaded him to stay and change courses. He changed to Geography. I wonder if he now wishes he’d left. He wouldn’t have ended up with Kate Middleton.
Kate went from TOWIE to grandma sister wife once she was told off for flashing one time too many. I believe it was the one at the memorial in India that finally had her boost up the coat dress look. Once Meghan arrived, she started to wear actual trousers and not those damn jeggings.
But her fashion sense remains terrible and she clearly doesn’t have a stylist that can set her in the right path.
I had to google what a TOWIE is. 😀
Oh, yes, for sure.
She went from botoxed hyena to botoxed hyena in just three short years.
Kate will never be a fashion and style icon. Her style is so drab and lackluster. She dresses up like an old spinster.
Kate doesn’t ever update her style and that’s fine. She’s been wearing the same belted a-lines, jeggings, and coat dresses since her pre-London days. The long hair is somewhat tired, and she is extremely thin, as thin as her drastic weight loss during the months leading up to the wedding. Her weight is consistently shocking to me.
Her style could be made over with a long bob and a new silhouette, and a softer makeup palette. To me, she looked her best during her pregnancies and right after Charlotte. She looked happier too. I think whatever happened since, in the marriage and in the family, really show. But the main thing is her being very underweight.
Candy, I agree. If she gained 10-15 pounds, her face would fill out a little and she would look younger and softer. She’s really invested in being quite slim. I wonder if she equates that with health? beauty? Whatever it is, she might want to rethink it. I think a different hairstyle would be a good decision, too. There are a lot of styles to choose from. She should really find someone who knows what they’re doing and do what they advise.
I doubt she’s in a happy marriage, but I don’t know that that means her life is unhappy in and of itself. I think what she had doing her own thing with little work was what she wanted. With Harry & Meghan gone, she (and W) will have to start working. She’s going to have to learn public speaking and do a much better job than she has been. She simply is going to have to grow up, because I don’t think she has and that’s part of her problems.
Last, but not least, she needs to stop being such a snobby mean girl. Because this one? It’s gonna sink her.
Kate has a unique talent of taking very expensive designer clothes and making them look dead. I don’t really know how she does it, but her clothes wear her and do literally nothing for her. I think it’s because she doesn’t really know her look, she just thinks the more expensive something is the better it must look.
But once again she has a ‘new found confidence’. How many times is she going to come into her own.
Sorry but she is such a dud they have to act like she invented wearing pants #katemiddletonsuccessstories.
I would love an actual fashion analysis of Kate that wasn’t sugary blah. Imagine if a fashion academic delineated a timeline of who she is copying from the Jecca Craig days to now, Meghan – and what that tells us about Middleton PR.
It wound be great to see an analysis on her marketing herself to Will, then marketing to monarchy to conservatives.
P.S. her eyeshadow game lately is whack someone hand the woman a wet wipe
I think Kate is very pretty but the absence of depth to her personality is self-defeating. All we get is the Hilary Mantel coined mannequin/vacant/vessel. A hanger for clothes, some that seem stylish, some that are more of a joke.
I wish Kate would make a break for it. She’s increasingly reminding me of Katie Holmes, who also veered into that vacant, drugged look when she was with Tom, but Katie was lucky because her family actually had her best interests at heart and they were there to spring her from Tom’s clutches. Maybe Kate’s dad will show up for her someday and say, “Sweetie, this royal thing is just not worth losing your mind or your health over.”
We thought Melania was trapped too but it turned out she was happy with her cheeto.
Kate is a joke. A woman who went to university to get a M.R.S., or in this case an HRH. Pimped out by her mother to bag a wealthy husband (bonus if he is an aristocrat); and she hit the matrimonial Powerball by snagging the future king. She brought nothing to the table but her womb and a mean girl attitude but that is not enough. The press embiggens her because they know she is a bucket of fluff and they have to sell the Firm. The aristocracy see her and the Middletons as social climbers but they will show respect to the title of future queen…but not to the woman that holds it.
Meghan suffered at the hands of the BRF and BM and certain pockets of the British populace. She and Harry have a strong bond as it seems, each left their home countries for the other. It looks like they found some peace and happiness in CA with their son and their daughter on the way. And the Sussexes have carved out a future for themselves. Kate is an indentured servant to the Firm for life or divorce, which ever comes first. One bad enough move and Kate faces the latter. In the end Kate is the loser.
You nailed it!
You nailed it!
Y’know when I became confident? When I filed for divorce from a cheating husband and moved forward on my own terms.
Yes!!! Mine was 30 years ago. I have started over countless times, been bankrupt, been homeless more than once, but I always worked and now I am in a one bedroom apartment, it is lovely, raising my grandson. The cheating gas lighting pos is dead from an overdose. Dump the PWTs Kate, life is too short
It is so much different when people marry for love. She got what she wanted but seems so dissatisfied with her life that she see it fit to define herself against the percieved person in the limelight. One would imagined that being in a good place as wife and mother would be enough. Include the wealth and increased social status. Still unfulfilled?
Why not try to live in the now and while she’s at it, become self aware.
To be generous the outfit in the top photo would be greatly improved and pretty cute actually with a black or brown blazer or even a motorcycle jacket, which I would never expect to see her wear. But a cute jacket would pull it all together. I also would have gone with brown boots but black boots work too. I’m just saying it’s one of the more modern things I’ve seen her in that I might actually wear but I would style it differently.
The BRF/BM is very much aware of the increased media scrutiny of the coverage of Meghan versus Kate. Many have picked up on the outrageous bias in the coverage. Thus far no one has documented the massive change in coverage of Kate after Meghan arrived. How she went from dolittle to divine overnight without any substantive change in her actual work. Nor has there been widespread commentary of how Kate has been copying Meghan. These current stories are an attempt to craft a narrative that explains this change as something other than what is. Remember how they tried to claim that Kate had been working on the early years project for eight years claiming that her early engagements were research in order to hide the fact that it was something they announce to counter the fact that Meghan completed her first project within months of being married. They are trying to get ahead of what could be very damaging coverage. I expect to see more of this as we get the 10 year anniversary coverage. They have already repackaged her “waity Katie” years as her and William being prudent as opposed to the reality that William was dating other women. They already whitewashed their breakups and started to get really vague about when they were officially a couple to mask the fact that William was clearly not as committed to her as she was to him. Meghan and Harry love at first sight. Marriage within two years of meeting. Baby within one year of marriage made KP/the Cambridge’s insecure so they started changing the narrative of those ten years.
“That was a real stroke of genius,” says Holt, who says the secret to Kate’s sartorial success is to look appropriately regal but never above her position.”
