Prince Harry will feel ’embarrassed, regretful & awkward’ about the Oprah interview?

Duke of Edinburgh funeral

Royal commentators continue to be creepy about their Sussex fan-fiction. They’re so desperate to profit off of Sussex stories, but they think only certain kinds of fan-fiction will sell in the UK. It’s almost as if British commentators don’t believe the British readership *wants* to hear that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have landed on their feet in California, that they are hot, happy, successful, rich and free following their exit from that salty, toxic island. So, this is the kind of sh-t they sell: Prince Harry is a hothead who regrets the Oprah interview and will eventually regret leaving Salty White Folk Isle.

Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, got to know the Duke of Sussex, 36, during his decade-long stint as a royal editor and described him as ‘hot-headed’.

‘He’s a hot-headed guy, he acts on his emotions,’ Duncan told Closer. Duncan [thinks] a ‘similar thing happened’ when it came to the Oprah Winfrey interview last month, in which Harry and Meghan claimed Charles and William are ‘trapped’ in ‘The Firm’ and accused the royals of institutional racism, alleging one member of the family questioned what colour their son Archie’s skin would be.

‘Harry was clearly hurt and angry about Meghan’s experience with the royals – and used the interview to get it out,’ Duncan said. ‘But after returning home, I’ve no doubt he’s been feeling embarrassed, regretful and awkward. He’s now facing the consequences. I believe he’ll regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family.’

Duncan said he’d heard Harry felt ‘numb’ heading back to LA and had ‘mixed emotions’ about seeing his family again at Prince Philip’s funeral, which reminded him of ‘everything he’s sacrificed’ in recent years and made him feel ‘nostalgic’ for his old life. Meanwhile, he alleged, Meghan is ‘in her element’ living her LA dream, and he fears Harry will struggle to live harmoniously as part of these two worlds.

‘He’s in for a very difficult ride. There could be tough times ahead,’ Duncan said.

[From The Daily Mail]

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I think I’ve even mentioned it in our Gossip With Celebitchy podcast – even in the worst situation where Meghan and Harry split up, I don’t even think Harry would “go back” to the UK. I think he’s done with Britain. Even if he wasn’t done with Britain in January 2020, the past fourteen months have absolutely convinced him that he needs to permanently exile himself from the toxicity of his birthplace for the rest of his life. The *only* scenario which could change that – in my mind – is the one Peter Hunt has spun out over the course of the past year, which is that when King Charles is in charge, overtures and apologies could be made and a tenuous peace could be reached. But as we’ve seen recently, the Windsors aren’t interested in that. So this is all they’ve got: royal commentators writing bizarre fan-fiction about how Harry is weeping into his California IPA in his Montecito mansion, trying to swallow bitter regrets that he left a toxic island which nearly drove his pregnant wife to suicide.

  1. Cessily says:

I bet PH is soooo tired of people who have no impact in his day to day life telling the world how he should, would, could or is supposed be to feel..

    • Edna says:

For real. It’s so arrogant and presumptuous of these fake journalists speculating on Harry’s emotions and what he may or may not be thinking/feeling. These fake journalists are clueless and no nothing about Harry or Meghan and are just writing fan fiction for clicks and profit. As Harry said in the engagement interview, “people think they know him, but they don’t .”

      • Cessily says:

They have no idea what it is like to live the life that they have forced the Sussex’s to, and anytime the backlash lands on one of the abusive commentators they run screaming.. well imagine years of it.
Going to Oprah and doing the interview was probably a weight lifted, many who have been in toxic and abusive relationships can empathize with that weight, but no ones knows any individuals thoughts or emotions unless they are in your immediate circle and your therapist.

  2. Izzy says:

Wow. They REALLY can’t handle the fact that Harry grew up and fell in love.

    • Snuffles says:

They’re acting like Harry is the key to EVERYTHING. You would they that after over a year they would start to move on.

Harry rejecting that life and succeeding must be making everyone question their existence and purpose in life. It’s too much to bare, so they live in an eternal state of denial.

      • Indica says:

Y’know, I can see this being the courtier’s schtick. If the royals figure out they don’t have to deal with that crap and can walk away….

…what’s the point of their life/job? They need all the royals to make themselves worthwhile. One walking away just scares the crap out of them.

      • Izzy says:

Indica makes a very good point. They must be desperate to make sure the monarchy doesn’t fold, they would all have to go out and get real jobs.

  3. lanne says:

It’s just the abuser’s playbook. You’re nothing without us! Come back and let us abuse you some more! We miss kicking you! We need you to need us so we can feel powerful

    Fuck that shit.

  4. Snuffles says:

Who is this idiot quoting? The voices in his head? The denial is STRONG.

  5. Midge says:

Montecito is not LA. It’s so annoying that the British press keep writing LA.

    • MF1 says:

I know. Montecito is about as close to LA as Philly is to NYC. I think they’re doing it purposefully to make Harry look “too Hollywood.”

      • Barbara B Nickle says:

@MF1: You got that exactly right. The commenters on the DM website love to deride Harry and Megan as being too “Hollywood” and no longer cloaked in the (spurious) dignity of the royal life in England. So somehow Montecito has become just another Hollywood/LA-adjacent community, when in fact it’s a good 2 hour drive from LA (and that’s with no traffic snarl-ups on the 101 freeway).

  6. Margles says:

It’s amusing to me that, on the one hand, they want to sell this story about how Meghan and Harry are self-indulgent jerks, living it up in sunny California while William and Kate do REAL WORK, while, at the same time, Harry is also supposed to be miserable in California and yearning to be able to return to his old life. Which is it?

  7. Nomegusta says:

Harry is the one that skipped the bridge and went straight to the chorus during that interview. He knows his family is trifling and they are banking on his being a better person than them so he doesn’t name names.

I hope he proves them wrong. I’m sure his only regret is not acting sooner and feeling helpless and tethered to so long.

    Freedom looks good on him

    • Case says:

Agreed. Meghan wasn’t the one naming names, that was allllll Harry! He knew what he was doing and he doesn’t regret it. It was clear he thought a lot about it before doing it.

I certainly wouldn’t regret talking about it if my own family nearly drove my spouse to suicide. Good lord.

  8. equality says:

Notice that he didn’t deny Meghan’s “experiences” with the RF, but he thinks Harry will regret sharing them. And Harry didn’t seem hot-headed in the interview, he seemed sad and disappointed. Why could Harry not adapt to living in the US? He spent a great deal of his life away from the UK in the military and traveling.

    • Margles says:

Yeah, frankly, Harry appeared very professional and level-headed during the interview. He’d obviously gone in after a lot of thought and practice. That interview wasn’t an impulsive act.

Their problem is they want Harry back on specific terms. So they have to create a story where Harry did “wrong” but isn’t culpable. So they have to blame his wife; his “hot head,” etc. They are essentially infantilizing him. It’s gross.

      • Cecilia says:

They’ve always infantilized harry. Thats not new. But it would serve these reporters right to start acknowledging the fact that harry grew up, married a woman he loved and eventually had the foresight that the predicament that they were in with the RF wasn’t a sustainable one and they needed to get the hell away from there

      • Ginger says:

Harry wasn’t hot headed at all. He paused before every answer. He answered the questions professionally.

Also, Harry’s friend Dean said Harry and Meghan were very happy with the interview.

    • Izzy says:

I mean, one reporter has already admitted that they knew she was miserable. Their secret is out. And by now they surely know that stating anything to the contrary will bring a downpour of receipts, on Twitter alone.

    • Legalease says:

It’s so infuriating to me that the narrative is “poor Harry won’t be able to adapt to life in California, he’s absolutely miserable!” while none of them gave an F about what it must have been like for Meghan to drop her entire life and move to the UK. These people don’t even see her as human and it’s disgusting.

    • BarbN says:

If Harry is “hot-headed”, then William the Incandescent must be spewing lava from his bald skull most of the time. No wonder he has no hair.

    • Emily_C says:

I don’t get why they think life in the U.S. is hard to adapt to. Some part of England seems determined to think we’re a colonial backwater. I promise nearly anyone on earth could adapt to the grueling life of living in a mansion in California.

  9. Sophia says:

Yes, Harry was sad that he finally left the toxic place. The place that he has said for many years that he was did not like. He was sad to find himself alone with his pregnant wife and toddler in California.

Who would believe that?! If he was sad it was because his grandfather passed away and/or because his family still refuses to acknowledge what they did to his wife.

  10. Sunday says:

The fail using one-word “quotations” to craft their bs is just infuriating. They play mad libs and pretend it’s journalism.

Yea, he’s feeling so regretful and awkward that he and his wife are chairing a global effort with world leaders to bring vaccines to everyone worldwide. He’s feeling so regretful and awkward that he’s going to be a father again soon and add a beautiful baby girl to his family. It’s just patently false, ridiculous, and insulting.

    • JT says:

For real. As if he’s sitting around wallowing about the UK, he’s got a global event to chair! He has the Invictus doc, the actual games, Archewell work, Spotify podcasts, and who knows what the hell else H&M have going on. Not to mention Lil’ Montecito coming soon and Archie. Harry has enough things on his plate.

    • BlueToile says:

Chairing a global effort for vaccine access is good. I mean, it’s not petting sheep and practicing one’s golf swing, but you know, we can’t all do life changing work like the Cambridges. 🙄 On a serious note, seeing the two couple’s activities announced on the same day was seriously eye-opening. The Sussex’s made the rest of the RF look like complete amateurs. They had to have felt the sting.

  11. Aurora says:

I feel sorry for them when the Lady of Montecito is born. Harry will not let those folks hurt his daughter. They’ll be lucky to get a stick figure drawing of her.

  12. swirlmamad says:

Good lord…..how many times are they going to rewrite the SAME DAMN HEADLINE???? Like a dog with a bone they just can’t give it up.

NO, Harry is not embarrassed, regretful, remorseful, or whatever negative adjective you want to look up in a thesaurus. Unfortunately for the rest of these hysterical harpies, Harry and Meghan are secure and happy in the decision they made to extract themselves from the viper’s pit. For crap’s sake, ENOUGH ALREADY. It’s so tedious.

  13. Jan says:

Harry is on record saying he hates the toxic press and rather be anywhere than sitting on his arse in Windsor, this was before he meet Meghan.
This week they’re stories out from Harry’s real friends, Nacho Figueras is in a magazine this month talking about his life, work and family during COVID, of course the interviewer had to asked about Harry.
Nacho said Harry is happy in California and he speaks to him often and he would’ve done the same thing for his wife.
They’ve a polo match fundraiser for Senteble(??) in a few months.
Gareth Thomas, former captain of the Wales Rugby team, who the tabloids forced to announce that he have aids, talks to Harry often, he always want to know how he is doing.

    • Becks1 says:

Oh I didn’t see that about Nacho, that’s fun that there is going to be another polo fundraiser!

      • Becks1 says:

Thanks for sharing the link @Edna. What a nice article. it also said that apparently all proceeds from his perfume line go to Sentebale.

      • What...now? says:

The article with Nacho is so lovely. Nacho always comes across as a genuinely nice person. And I believe Harry is just as nice and genuine as Nacho says. Because, let’s face it, good people are friends with and hang out with other good people.
There’s no “Opposites attract” in a true friendship where one person is great and the other person is a total a-hole. It just doesn’t work like that.

I mean look at trump–and the genuinely criminal, horrible, treasonous people that are his family and “friends.” A-holes one and all. He is not friends with a “good” person, because good people wouldn’t hang out in a toxic hellhole and that’s exactly what trump and co. are.

    • MsIam says:

I find it interesting that there are lots of quotes from friends of Harry and Meghan talking about how happy they are but with the Other Couple its always the Rota rats saying how happy they are. Why doesn’t the press have any quotes from other people who know them, like their neighbor Rose for example?

      • JT says:

@Msiam I don’t think anybody truly likes the Cambridges. The Tatler article with quotes from their “friends” makes it seems like they are laughed at behind their backs. I think people just hang around them because they are the FFKQ.

Regarding the Sentebale fundraiser, I hope Harry and Nacho organize a polo match here in California. Santa Barbara would be an incredible backdrop or they could do something in LA. Isn’t there a polo event that happens every year? It would be great PR.

      • Becks1 says:

This stands out to me as well. No one is ever willing to go on the record to defend the Cambridges. For the anniversary, a quote from a close friend about their marriage – “they are just the most down to earth couple, if you pop over there Kate has chutney out and William is making tea and will offer you a bouquet of roses as you leave” said Lady Angelica Eversham-Whitings-Tidings, Countess of Norfolkia.

But instead we get lots of “inside sources” or “sources close to the couple.” I understand they don’t want their friends blabbing but surely a sanctioned quote once in a while would be okay?

  14. Anne K says:

I think this remains the rota fantasy. I truly believe they thought Harry was back for good when he attended the funeral. They live in a delusional world believing their lies that he’s unhappy and every video, every new venture Harry and Meghan announces shatters their hopes.

Harry also came back for the funeral looking healthier and relaxed compared to when they were still working royals

  15. Becks1 says:

I am laughing. these people are so desperate.

First – is it possible, just maybe, that Harry felt “numb” flying back to LA because he was tired, because he had just buried his grandfather, because he was worried about his elderly grandmother, and again, tired? Is that at all possible? No? okay then.

Second – I’m back to laughing. I can’t help it. In every single zoom etc Harry looks HAPPY, relaxed, and in every zoom etc with Meghan Harry looks so proud of her. I’m sure he regrets a great deal over the past few years, about what Meghan endured, and how it has all ended up, because I do genuinely believe they did not want this when they got married – they wanted to be FT royals and to use that platform to make a difference. but I don’t think he regrets where he is now. Like I don’t think he ever wishes for a second they were still back in the UK as things were there, I just think he wishes sometimes that things hadn’t been the way they were, you know? That he wishes his brother wasn’t a racist ahole and that his father had been more supportive etc. I don’t know if that makes sense. Like you can end up appreciating and loving your destination but wishing the journey had been a little different. (But if it was different you wouldn’t be at the same destination.) I dont know. Too philosophical and not enough coffee, haha.

But anyway I don’t think he wakes up every day and thinks “man I wish I was in London right now.” No he probably wakes up every day and thinks “so I’ll work, and then what? Hike, bike ride, surf, take Archie to the beach, maybe visit LA and have a private meeting with Wallis Annenberg, maybe I’ll see what any of my other famous friends are up to, wonder if George and Amal want to get together, I’ll throw some meat on the grill” etc.

Likewise with the Oprah interview – I think he and Meghan regret that the press and the Firm wouldn’t leave them the hell alone, but that interview was so carefully planned out. Harry and Meghan both knew exactly what they were comfortable sharing and both were very careful in all of their responses. It wasn’t a hot headed impulsive decision.

  16. Over it says:

The irrelevant one has left the isle. Move on salty white peeps. You and him are never ever ever getting back together

  17. serena says:

This is some very delusional fantasy they have, lol, they want SO BAD for Harry to come back but guess what? He’s happy and finally free, so they can just suck it.

Also, Harry was always described as hot-headed and wild, while that describes more ol’ Willy, but he really seems so composed and calm. This narrative they’ve been trying to spin since FOREVER, is old and now everyone can see how fake it is.

  18. Noki says:

Its possible he regrets it,and there is nothing wrong with having regrets. I feel more than anything he hates the fact that he HAD to do that interview to begin with, that it really got that bad and he just had to sit down and say something.

  19. Osty says:

These pple know the interview was last month yes? So its time they move on

    • Lady D says:

Five weeks and counting. I expect the Oprah interview to sustain the BM over the summer, because they have absolutely nothing else. The Cambridge family disappear each summer as does the Queen and Charles. The BM will have this interview memorized word for word by the time summer’s over.

  20. Ladybug says:

Are these people forgetting that someone in his family asked what color PH’s child would look like? That his father cut off the security for said child, his wife, and himself even when there were and still threats on their life? Like why would he be clamoring to be with them? Also should Meghan and Harry split up, which I’m not expecting to happen anytime soon, he still has two American children, is he just supposed disown them? This whole fantasy that these RR’s have is wild to me. They think they know him because they reported on him but time after time it’s proved that they don’t.

    • Nyro says:

The general public most certainly hasn’t forgotten which is why the British press are working overtime to rewrite history and switch the narrative around. It’s not working.

    • Emmitt says:

I’m 99.99% sure Meghan and/or Doria sat Harry down at some point and told him just because Meghan was fair skinned, that didn’t mean any future children they had would also be fair skinned. Archie came out white; Lady Montecito might come out brown. And Harry doesn’t care because those are his children (who he loves very much) from his wife (who he loves very much). That’s why Archie’s middle name is HARRY’S SON, that’s why one of the first pictures of Archie was in sepia tone and black and white, because they knew salty racists wanted to know what Archie’s skin tone was.

Harry is expected to throw away Archie & his sister, come back to the UK and start over with some proper white children (who will be given titles and security). That’s not going to happen. Even if Harry dumped Meghan, he will never dump Archie and his sister and that makes William and the Rota mad.

      • Julia K says:

Many years ago it was taught in biology that a child could not be darker than it’s darkest parent. This has been proven wrong and baby girl can be whatever her genetic inheritance decides. Skin tone could be similar to Doris or anything in between.

  21. Merricat says:

I think the only thing Harry regrets is not saying more. No, wait–that’s me. I regret Harry not saying more.

  22. GuestWho says:

It really seems like it’s been Harry making most of the big moves in California recently – Invictus and Netflix for example, meeting with Annenberg, getting a job, and sitting on the committee regarding dishonest media, their joint chairman ship of the Vax concert – seems to me he is in his element. Booked and busy with work that could make real, measurable differences.

Did the flight attendant tell this a-hole that Harry felt numb on the way home?

Of course he has mixed feelings about his family. They are f’ing horrible, but he loves them. Doesn’t mean he wants to come back to them.

    • Jan says:

If only the royal family didn’t hold him back, not to out perform his lazy brother.
Harry is in his element, firing on all cylinders.
The BM really fooled a lot of people into thinking Harry was dumb, but when people meet him are willing to do business with him, Prince or no Prince the bottle line for companies are profits.
Harry is enjoying his freedom, picking up eggs and making guacamole, even Archie can make guacamole.
Someone on Twitter said Meghan have been pregnant most of her marriage to Harry, didn’t realize it, someone is making use of the fireplaces in every room.

  23. Eurydice says:

Well, I’d guess “hot headed” is better than “incandescent rage monster.” So, Duncan isn’t saying that Harry was wrong to be hurt and upset by the way his family treated Meghan, just that he should kept his mouth shut about it.

  24. Soupie says:

    One word: NOPE.

  25. Haylie says:

    Response to a deleted comment

  26. Nyro says:

They know who the real hot head is. It’s the one who’ll be 40 next year yet still can’t control his emotions. It’s the one so infantile and filled with rage that he couldn’t even walk next to his own brother for five minutes at their grandfather’s funeral. That is the one who’s got regrets about his life choices, which likely plays a huge part in his never ending seething anger. He’s the one unhappy with his wife. He’s the one who feels disconnected from his own kids. He’s the one who feels lost career-wise. He’s the one who hasn’t dealt with his mother’s death. You can always tell exactly what’s going on with William because all these British reporters do is transfer all of his problems and fears onto Harry.

    • Brittany says:

Yes. William who was “Billy the Basher” as a child and is typically described as “incandescent with rage” as an adult. Or what about Charles, who tried to choke a servant? Who’s actually hot-headed here?

    • Saucy&Sassy says:

Nyro, Kant was 39 in January (?) and Wont is 39 in June. It’s going to be interesting with each of them looking at 40 rushing toward them. I wonder if we’re going to see a mid-life crisis for either or both of them. If so, I think things will become clearer about the relationship between these two. My bet is that Wont will be the one the brf needs to keep an eye on. Harry is gone and leading a happy, fulfilling life and Wont has . . . what?

      • Jaded says:

I think the mid-life crisis is already upon them, and they’re both floundering badly.

  27. S808 says:

All I have left to say is the 6th in line stopping royal work and moving shouldn’t warrant all of this. It just shouldn’t.

  28. Catherine says:

The carnival trots out the Harry must be unhappy narrative when others have failed. It a way for them to dismiss Meghan and undermine their relationship. It also allows them to fuel that Harry will return in some capacity. The BM/BRF’s new strategy definitely seems to be to create a perceived divide between Harry and Meghan while promoting the narrative of reconciliation between Harry and the BRF. I do think it’s fascinating that many of the carnival are no longer attempting to directly dispute the actual content of the interview. They are also trying very hard to make it seem as if the “conflicts” are solely about the interview itself as opposed to the interview being the result of all the abuse the Sussexes particularly Meghan had to endure. It’s actually really bad strategy on the part of the BRF/BM. They are actually giving more life and energy to the interview than even the Sussex supporters are at this point. They did the same thing with the Finding Freedom book and the Crown movie. They don’t learn. They are doing more harm to themselves than to the Sussexes.

    • Nyro says:

ITA. This is why they were banking on Harry staying for the queen’s birthday. They were desperate to show some kind of allegiance to the crown. And they completely lost their shit when he left the day before. They had the “Harry choses queen and country over horrible Meghan” stories ready to go.

  29. Andrew’s Nemesis says:

You know, I really hope that these two make it to their fiftieth wedding anniversary and beyond, surrounded by grandchildren with great-grandchildren on the way, and are able to look back and say: ‘you remember the ways in which you projected your toxic, messy emotions all over us? Remember? Well, we haven’t pigeon-shrugged ONCE.’

  30. Amy Bee says:

The press knew he was miserable for years and he hated almost all aspects of royal life so how can now say that Harry misses his old life. The reason he spent so long in the Army and used to leave the UK for Africa any chance he got was because he hated being a royal and living in the UK.

  31. booboocita says:

“Duncan said he’d heard Harry felt ‘numb’ heading back to LA and had ‘mixed emotions’ about seeing his family again …”

Oh, please. He heard nothing. The past year has proven that H&M run a tight shop security-wise. No one in their circle is running to the RR with any info. This isn’t even speculation — it’s a bald-faced LIE.

    • Myra says:

Exactly. These people lie for a living. They have an agenda and they will distort the truth to achieve that. It’s in their interest to present Harry as regretful so that people can discard what was shared during the interview. Well, that’s not going to happen. Since the royals haven’t gone on record to deny anything said, then what the Sussexes shared stand as the accurate version of the events leading up to their exit and after.

    • Amy Bee says:

      Exactly.

  32. Liz version 700 says:

Harry will feel embarrassed regretful and awkward about the number of RR stalkers he and his wife have to deal with…but since Ophra isn’t acting like a rejected 13 year old he is probably perfectly happy choosing Ophra to tell his story!

  33. Sofia says:

As someone said above, it was Harry who was naming names. Meghan was all like “The queen was lovely, Kate is a great person” whereas Harry was like “My dad doesn’t take my phone calls and my brother and I’s relationship is space”.

As I’ve said before, if Harry regrets anything it’s most likely the circumstances of why they moved i.e abuse rather than the move itself. I doubt he cries to sleep at night, rocking back and forth and begging for William like the rota wants.

    • Liz version 700 says:

This!!!!! I could not agree more! He probably only regrets that he had to hold back stuff to keep making them behave. I think Harry would love to drop an avalanche of receipts on Keenville

  34. Agreatreckoning says:

The only ‘tough times ahead’ exist for the tabloids to come up with new things to write about. They have twisted old stories more times than the Dragon section of US 129 has curves.

  35. MsIam says:

I guess ole Duncan missed that pic of Harry and his dog on the beach huh? He sure looked miserable in that one! And I’m sure every day Harry is sitting in his backyard under that tree wishing he was back in the UK playing with keen sheep. Baa!

  36. snappyfish says:

First I want to preface this as saying I do not believe that Sussexes will ever divorce. I also don’t think the Cambridges will divorce either but that ends the similarities of the two houses. IF and this is hypothetically, the Sussexes did end their union I believe Harry would return to the UK. He said in the Oprah interview if things had gone differently (acceptance, assurances, understanding) that he would be there NOW. I don’t think he wanted to make the choice he did but his hand was forced to protect his wife. I do think she enjoys CA but I am sure he will always feel a bit like a fish out of water. It’s hard not to live in your homeland.I imagine it’s far harder if one lived the rarified life that Harry did. When he was home for the funeral he was treated as an HRH again. He has shown that matters not to him, but Im sure it was difficult none the less

    • Jan says:

Ten years in the military helped clear up that rarified air.
This was a man who who preferred to live in a country in Africa and the Army than being in England.
Meghan can be happy anywhere, expect a place where the media lies about you every day with blatant racism, classism and all the isms.
Harry is a big boy stop trying to infantilize him, he is doing what most men do every day, marry and find a place to live.

    • Cate says:

I disagree. I have split with my parents because they were toxic and the final straw was the abominable way they treated my spouse. I have sometimes thought “could this relationship be fixed if my spouse was out of the picture?” and the answer is pretty consistently no—my parents exposed too much of THEIR shitty personalities for that to be possible. The only way it could maybe happen is if my husband and I split up and my husband was a MEGA asshole about it. But a run of the mill “we aren’t compatible anymore” divorce? Nope.

    • MsIam says:

People move around the world everyday and they are not all pining to come home. It really depends on what is back “home”. And trust me Harry is not going back to his family in the UK because of the “invisible contract” with the media that has trapped the rest of the royals. If he goes back to live and presumably return to royal duties then he knows what that means. People constantly spying and scrutinizing everything you do, the constant leaks, constantly fighting for money for his projects, making sure he doesn’t overshadow anyone. You think he wants to go back to that? Nah, he’s gone. He could go to Canada or Botswana but not back to the UK, unless its to retire.

    • Becks1 says:

I don’t think he would leave his kids or force Meghan to leave the kids. I think IF they ever divorce (which I dont see happening but stranger things and all that), they’ll stay in close proximity to each other because of the kids. He’s not going to move to the UK and see the kids one month out of the year or something. And at this point, given the past year, I doubt he will ever want his kids to live in the UK until they’re adults and its their choice.

    • Emmitt says:

So Meghan was expected to be a fish out of water for the rest of her life, away from her homeland but Harry is too delicate to be a fish out of water away from his homeland?

      • Oh says:

They always sympathize with their white prince. “Poor” Harry who left his “real” family… but Meghan suffered a miscarriage and all these bad things because of Harry and his “real” family. They don’t care, they don’t see her as a human being with feelings.

    • Emily_C says:

It’s not hard to be away from your “homeland” when you prefer what you moved to. My great-grandmother used to talk about how glad she was to be away from Sweden all the time, and Sweden was hardly a hellhole, nor was where she moved to anything like a mansion in California.

  37. Jan says:

Meghan was in Canada for 7 years, not one complaint, when asked about the cold weather, she said once you dressed for it, you’re fine.
Was in Argentina for a year, no problem.
College in Chicago for 4 years.
    Proving she can live anywhere.
Was willing to live in England with Harry, but the BM, courtiers and the BRF made it unattainable.
So saying she is happy to being back in California, why not, there is no one checking to see if she crosses her leg, wear pantyhose, black nail polish or how much her clothes cost.

  38. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Who is this journalist channeling? Must have superpowers to know what people are feeling and what their thoughts are. An enormous lawsuit needs to happen pdq.

  39. Vanessa says:

So I guess the Royals reporter were upset about the announcement of Meghan and Harry hosting and being apart of the global concert for covid vaccines. Now they have to start with the same one narrative that Harry is really unhappy and sad he miss being bullied and abuse by the British tabloids and his own family members. These royal reporters think if they keep repeating and reporting the same lie over and over it will come true .

  40. Lowrider says:

The rats will never admit Harry is thriving away from the royally abusive toxic environment.

  41. Lizzie says:

It says so much about these bitter unhappy people that no one says they are happy for Harry that he has created a spectacular life, more importantly the life he wanted. Their face would freeze before being decent or kind – or even truthful.

    • Nyro says:

That’s been so telling. Not one kind word for all they’ve done and accomplished over the last year. Nothing.

  42. aquarius64 says:

Until the idiotic BRF and BM accept Meghan Archie and the baby girl and stop writing this nonsense about leaving his wife and kids he won’t come back!!!

  43. LHP says:

I read that article earlier and noted that the ‘expert’ had been ‘yelled at’ by ‘hot-headed’ Harry at Peter Phillips stag (bachelor) weekend. It seems he was invited along with the understanding that he would cover it sympathetically, PW invited him for beers and Harry was mad but it was smoothed over.

Ummm, ‘royal experts’ coming along on stag weekends and being invited for beers by PW? Just more evidence of how trapped the RF are by the British media!

  44. TheOriginalMia says:

They need to let it go. Harry isn’t coming back. Even if he divorces, he ain’t coming back to the Salty Island. His children will be raised in the US and that’s where he’ll want to be.

  45. NotSoSimpleTaylor says:

I lived in Atlanta for 8 years and my husband, a US citizen has lived in Denmark with me for 4 years and we decided to raise our child here. I don’t care where you come from or how much money you have, it will take a moment to adjust to a new life in another country. There is a lot of emotions and nostalgia involved.

Harry is doing just fine and he knows he is in a privileged spot. There is a lot of stress with reprogramming your customs and everyday way of life to a new culture. What do you keep of yourself? What do you take away to make life easier? Personally, I think Harry knows exactly where he is and is doing just fine. He’s probably researching and learning all about it so he can also help immigrants and refugees now and in a few years we’ll hear all about it. All I see are a bunch of “experts” emotionally abusing a man for striking it out on his own without the assistance of his family.

  46. Mina_Esq says:

Harry hasn’t turned his back on his family. His family turned their backs on him. All he did was say that he wanted to step away from full time royal duties for a period of time. They keep harping on H and M not being the “#1 couple”, so it shouldn’t have been a big deal. Anyway, I’m so happy H and M found each other. Those tabloids are insane to not want closer relationship with objectively the hottest royal couple. Their prince married a gorgeous Hollywood actress, for the love of g-d.

  47. Meg says:

This is the fantasy dumped/rejected parties have ‘they regret leaving me and want to come crawling back. Someday they will’ they say it to themselves and others trying to control the narrative

  48. Jais says:

    “Weeping into his California ipa”
omg this line is everything. I can’t omg

  49. Amy Too says:

I just don’t get how they ever think Harry is going to regret leaving the royals and want to come back when they always describe the royals and his visits back to the UK as frigid, cold, coming face to face with the consequences of his actions, being rebuffed by his family members who aren’t ready to forgive him or even talk to him, and him feeling awkward, upset, uptight, nervous, ms anxious when he’s there. And then they mention that meanwhile, back in sunny California, Meghan is happy and living her best life in a big mansion with her son and a baby girl on the way. Who would you rather hang out with? No wonder he keeps choosing Meghan and his new life. Even when they’re trying to disparage their new life they mention things like organic food, meditation and yoga, the huge house with the big yard and garden, surfing and walks on the beach, celebrity friends and neighbors and dinners at trendy restaurants, and warm, sunny weather. And those are meant to be bad things? Because they’re “too Hollywood.” If the press or the family want him to come back to the UK, why don’t they at least try to make it seem more inviting and like the people there actually *want* to see him. Who wants to go back to a bunch of surly spiteful people with pissed off faces who give you the silent treatment and let it be known that you will need to go through a long period of hazing, apologizing, and being punished before they even consider forgiving you…and even then your relationship will never be able to recover fully back to how it was… and “how it was” was already pretty awful and tenuous and stressful?

  50. incognito08 says:

Mind you, these same folks continue to bellyache about their tax dollars supporting the British Royal Family and how the monarchy should be abolished – yet, when one of them strikes out on their own and is no longer subsisting on their dime, now there’s a problem? Those folks really should make up their minds and pick a struggle!

  51. L4frimaire says:

It’s so amusing how all these people attribute these emotions and thoughts to Harry without ever actually speaking to him. That’s how they want him to feel, but he was out and having meetings the day after he got back to USA, so how he feels is his business, not these people projecting. Harry has been out of the UK over a year now, and the family have been very clear, long before the Oprah interview how they have felt by their lousy actions. They are so bothered he’s carrying on with his life and career, regardless of what these killjoys want.

  52. Emily_C says:

Harry said he didn’t like England before he met Meghan. He also preferred being in a war zone in Afghanistan to being in England. Somehow I think he’ll be okay being rich in California.

  53. blunt talker says:

I like this thought-Harry will never ever allow his children to be victimized or bullied by the Uk press trolls Any sacrifices Harry makes has his children and wife at number one-Keep on crying to the cows come home-won’t do any good anyway. Freedom looks good on Harry.
