Prince Harry’s The Me You Can’t See was such a heavy series, but one of the most interesting parts was the bit about the testing being done in the UK on the use of psychedelic drugs to “reset” the minds of people suffering from clinical depression. That was fascinating to me, the use of LSD in a clinical, controlled setting, and seeing how it might work. I bring this up because Christina Haack – formerly Christina El Moussa and Christina Anstead – says that she smoked a toad and it rewired her brain. I kind of believe her! She’s also got a new boyfriend, Josh Hall, and she wants us to know about him because her most recent ex-husband has been stepping out with Renee Zellweger. Christina posted this message on her IG (I only made minor edits for space):
I met Josh when I wasn’t in a state of fear or fight-or-flight … I had taken time off social, hired a spiritual coach and smoked a Bufo toad (which basically reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins).
When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore. I felt immediately crazy protective over him and wanted to keep him for myself and get to know each other before the tornado (media attention) hit. We’ve had a few solid months of just us getting to know each other and I’ve loved every second of it. So called “fame” provides so many things but it comes with a cost. They build you up then tear you down.
When I saw a camera behind us at the airport my heart started beating out of my chest and my hands shaking – And not for me but for him. I know they dig and dig and I didn’t ever want to see him stress over the media stalking him and his family. Which obviously has already begun to a uncomfortable degree. False narratives being thrown around left and right.
They go after everyone you and your family follow on social media and everyone who is in your inner and outside circle looking for dirt and drama. That’s partly why there is so many failed celeb relationships, they turn new relationships into a circus.
We decided whats in the past, is in the past. We aren’t looking at all the nonsense online. The internet and social are great for businesses or staying up to date on fam / friends but also, can be toxic and (let’s be real) pretty fake.
I may be a bit crazy and im definitely not perfect but I will never live my life based on other peoples judgments or opinions. We pride ourselves on never judging others and always wanting others to be happy and we wish others would have the same respect. Josh doesn’t have social media, but I want to thank him for whisking me away on a romantic tropical vacation he planned entirely on his own. ❤️✈️
So yes “another relationship” and guess what. I’m 38 -I’ll do what I want.
Bufo toad means, according to People, that she smoked the secretion of the Bufo Alvarius which contains psychedelics. As for the rest of it… the story came out about Christina’s new boyfriend – this Josh Hall person she’s referring to – earlier this week, when they were photographed at LAX, returning from vacation. I get that she’s mad that people are curious about her love life. But I also think that it was barely even a story – “divorced woman steps out with a new lover.” Yes, People Magazine and Page Six ran items about it, but I ignored the story because I didn’t think anyone would even be interested in it. “Getting mad about the media intrusion” is a great way to highlight the story, just FYI.

Me with life long anxiety….. does it hurt the toad? Is the toad endangered? Is this part of an indigenous culture?
It does, from what I understand and it threatens their survival. We don’t need to encourage such practices, especially in light of all the viruses that jump from animals to humans.
That is exactly where my mind went as well. I have heard about psychedelics and such having positive outcomes for people with mental health issues and am very interested in them, but not at the detriment to any other living creature or at the cost of cultural appropriation or environmental damage. I did acid two or three times in college and to be honest it was wonderful and helped me for a few months each time, but I am not down
for hurting any living thing for my own benefit.
My advice is do LSD or mushrooms and leave toads out of it. I had a similar experience each time I’ve done psychedelics. However my anxiety is chronic so this isn’t a ‘cure’ – though to be fair it seems neither was hers as she immediately describes panic symptoms by the end of her diatribe
Bufo toads are a horrible , awful invasive species in Hawaii and very toxic to dogs !
there are other psychedelics that are more well researched, and potentially less harmful to the toad.
taking acid once got rid of my suicidal feelings for about 6 months (a record time, i’ve had them on and off for 20 years) BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER taking a psychedelic you have not intensively researched, and definitely not on your own if you are not an experienced drug user (and psychedelics are in a class of their own. LSD also made me quit meth after one dose) and definitely not with other people if those people aren’t sober and know how to look after a person trying psychedelics for the first time.
anyway i would feel much safer taking LSD than trying Bufo (which i actually know little about) because Bufo sounds more like Shrooms– you can’t safely measure the amount of the chemical or make sure it is a uniformly even substance at the same dose, and the “wildness” of it puts you at more risk. this is just my speculation about Bufo– i’m curious and going to research it now– but based on my experiences with Shrooms.
This woman simply cannot be by herself. Maybe she needs to examine why.
She had a brain to rewire? False narratives PAH-Leaze lady! If you have a problem with your tabloid narratives you should ask your publicist you pay to make you a tabloid celebrity.
Well, she doesn’t sound 38 – she sounds like a petulant toddler. Cringing with embarrassment over “he planned it himself.” Lord, where’s his medal? All by himself??
😂 man gets praise for doing a thing 🏆
Fame should be doled out sparingly.
You don’t have to “smoke a toad” to benefit from psychedelics. For some people, under controlled circumstances, LSD and the like have made a huge change in their lives and provided real relief from anxiety and depression. I won’t judge.
I do wish though that there were more information out there on how it can also rewire your brain in a bad way. I did some this year hoping to get some relief from my depression and it went horrifically.
Maybe you got hold of something that was cut with something weird. That’s why it’s important for the medical community to dispense, rather than black market.
Psychologists used to use MDMA on their clients. I think I’d rather partake in an ecstacy session over smoking a toad. But they’d have to turn off the task lights, spin a colorful disco ball, rock some awesome alternative tunes and allow me to invite some friends.😁
Scientists are still studying psychedelics and they’ve been extremely helpful with severe PTSD in veterans and more. Tim Ferriss regularly has experts on the topic on his podcast and he’s working to fund more studies. I think this research should be fast tracked as we’d all rather take clinically approved psych drugs than smoke the secretions from an endangered toad’s butt.
This is such a weird, strange story. On one hand, she’s an adult and obviously allowed to have a relationship. But it all just smells so weird. She seemed like the stable one when she and Tarek were divorcing, but not I’m not so sure. Real actual celebrities can go through pregnancies and have children in super secret, so she can figure out a way to go about her business without it making news.
Seems like someone who very much wants to be famous, maybe ever since her first marriage blew up and she got a lot of attention. I remember seeing stories about that, and before that she was just another generic blonde lady on another formulaic HGTV show.
If that’s what she wants, great, but doing it via “media intrusion” and toad smoking stories is kind of funny.
Everyone only ever sees the bright lights side of fame too, until they’re in it.
This lady sounds ridiculous, but I wish her well with her anxiety. Using psychedelics therapeutically is a very different process than using them recreationally. The practice was just legalized here (Oregon), and I did quite a bit of reading on it as we were getting ready to vote. The sessions are guided by a therapist and take hours. The therapists who use this technique recommend it primarily for extreme cases of PTSD, anxiety and depression — one of the people fighting for legalization had terminal cancer and used psychedelic therapy to come to terms with her imminent death. I can’t remember reading anything about toads — I think they use LSD and psychedelic mushrooms from what I remember. The toad things sounds both cruel and harmful to the environment.
+1
Privacy. LOL She arranged to be papped with new love because her recent ex is dating a famous actress. Then on her vacation she has a gazillion photographs done with her new boyfriend (all obviously posed) to have pasted all over the internet and then whined about their privacy. Give me a break.
^^^THIS^^. Her ‘new relationship’ , it’s suspicious timing then her complaining about the tabloid intrusion of it all is just disingenuous.
You mean the toad-licking episode on Family Guy was true?
I I love psychedelics but I’ve never done any of the toad stuff. Mushrooms have been shown to create new neural pathways And I think LSD has had similar studies done. Microdosing them can especially be good for people with chronic anxiety and PTSD. They can also be tough on your neurons and body in general also I don’t do them often anymore. Honestly good for her if it helps. We constantly praise people for being open about using pharmaceuticals and therapy for their mental health so I don’t see a difference with psychedelics.
