Cute couple alert! It looks like comedy royalty’s offspring are coupling up. Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin, 25, and Eddie Murphy’s oldest son Eric, 32, are dating. Jasmin confirmed the relationship in an Instagram post in which she wished Eric a happy birthday over the weekend. Eric had already posted a sweet Instagram to Jasmine a couple weeks before, but no one took notice. What makes this coupling sweet is that Jasmin and Eric’s fathers, Martin and Eddie, worked together in two movies in the nineties. I wonder if Eddie and Martin saw a future in which there was a possibility that their houses would be joined to create a dynasty? Below are a few more details from People:
On Saturday, Jasmin Lawrence — Martin’s oldest child — wished Eddie’s firstborn son Eric Murphy a happy birthday on Instagram, revealing that they’re dating in the caption of her post.
“Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side,” Jasmin, 25, wrote alongside two loving photographs of the pair. “Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!! 🖤✨.”
Last month, Eric, 32, posted a photo with his girlfriend on his respective Instagram account, captioning the post, “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU,” adding the hashtags, “#myotherhalf,” “#equallyyoked,” and “#iloveyou.”
This was so not on my radar or on my 2021 bingo card. I never thought about the fact that Eddie and Martin had grown ass kids. Nor the fact that those kids could grow up and fall in love with each other. I now have heart eyes over this. I am sure Eddie and Martin are having a field day over this situation and hope they are both supportive of their kids’ romance.
I would like to know, because I’m nosey, how Jasmin and Eric met? Did they grow up together? Did Eddie and Martin have play dates with their kids when they were little? Or did Jasmin and Eric just find themselves in the same social circles? It is not farfetched since Black Hollywood is such a small microcosm. Jasmin and Eric are a very sweet and cute couple and I love their Instagram posts to each other. They sound like love sick puppies that enjoy each other’s company. Honestly, what more could you ask for in a romantic relationship in your twenties and thirties? Wouldn’t it be dope to get a Murphy-Lawrence mashup in the future? I wish Jasmin and Eric the best.
