Prince Charles ‘loves his brother’ but views Andrew as ‘an unsolvable problem’

Duke of York, Prince Andrew continues to get probed about his involvement with the Jeffery Epstein case! **FILE PHOTOS**

The good news for the British monarchy is that the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are on the same page about an important subject. The bad news for the monarchy is that the subject is “Prince Andrew was friends with a rapist pedophile and he also abused human trafficking victims.” Considering Prince Andrew, Fergie, Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are in Balmoral right now with the Queen, I think it’s safe to say that group is its own little unit. They’re all on the same “side,” and the Queen will continue to do the most to protect her favorite son. Which makes William and Charles the opposition. That’s how I believe these articles should be read, the ones about what Charles and William think about this crisis. This is Charles and William speaking to the Queen and to Andrew. This family is so dysfunctional, and this is why. Anyway, some new stuff from Clarence House:

UK heir apparent Prince Charles believes sexual assault allegations against Prince Andrew are an “unsolvable problem” that will forever bar his brother from returning to public life, according to a report. Andrew, 61, was booted from royal duties in November 2019 after his disastrous attempts to justify his friendship with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell. But the ongoing scandal escalated this week when longtime accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre sued Andrew in Manhattan federal court, with UK police re-examining whether to launch their own full investigation.

Charles “loves his brother and has the ability to have sympathy for the slings and arrows that his brother endures,” a source close to the Prince of Wales told the Times of London.

“However, this will be unwelcome reputational damage to the institution,” the source insisted of the latest bombshells.

“He has long ago concluded that it is probably an unsolvable problem,” the sources close to Charles said of the 72-year-old heir to the throne. “This will probably further strengthen in the prince’s mind that a way back for the duke is demonstrably not possible, because the specter of this [accusation] raises its head with hideous regularity.”

Andrew had been eager to step back into royal duties, making moves to do so until recently, the UK paper noted. However, the latest lawsuit “is a reminder that that would be very difficult to achieve,” the source close to Charles said.

Andrew is currently with his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at her Scottish estate, Balmoral, arriving a day after the lawsuit was filed.

A summons was sent to Andrew’s Royal Lodge, the grade II listed house in Windsor he shares with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who was also with him when he arrived at Balmoral. Andrew has been given 21 days to reply, although if he accepts the summons and signs a waiver form, he will get more time, the UK Times said. Andrew’s representatives have yet to comment on Giuffre’s lawsuit. Buckingham Palace told the UK Times that it does not speak for the duke on his personal legal matters.

This quote is insane: Charles “loves his brother and has the ability to have sympathy for the slings and arrows that his brother endures.” The source is not saying Charles has sympathy for Andrew, but Charles has the ability to have sympathy. What a curious thing to say. Obviously, it’s carefully worded on purpose. Again, this is not purely damage control PR by Clarence House. This is Charles communicating to Andrew (and the Queen) through the press. This is Charles saying to his brother publicly, “Look, I know you’re dealing with a lot and I might even be sympathetic in a general sense, but you are never coming back. There is no coming back.” I wonder if the Queen and Andrew realize that. I don’t think they do. At all.

Charles is not a “warm” person. He did not even return his second son’s calls. And said nothing when his grandson Archie was made fun of in the media Charles has many issues himself and can’t get on his high horse now.

  2. Mac says:

The queen and Andrew definitely thought he could just lay low for awhile and then quietly come back. They are so amazingly out of touch with the rest of the world.

  3. Scorpion says:

That picture of the balcony seems really busy, everyone’s expression is something.

    • Eurydice says:

It looks photoshopped – like I expect to see Forest Gump somewhere in there.

    • Becks1 says:

I think Camilla’s expression is my favorite.

      • Couch potato says:

Yeah in my head she’s telling the person to the right to her” “see what I mean by TQ’s horrible farts? Why can’t she lay off the cabbage and eat garlic like normal people?”

      • Tessa says:

Camilla is no one to be snide. She’s lucky she got into that family considering…But she’s set for life, Charles could not afford another divorce even if he wanted one.

  4. Amy Bee says:

I thought the quote was tone deaf. It shows that Charles doesn’t view the accusations of paedophilia and sex trafficking as serous offences. He has sympathy for Andrew but not the victims. He’s an awful man.

    • Ravensdaughter says:

I agree. He’s just concerned about reputational damage to the Firm.
So sad that Harry and William lost the warmth and loyalty of their mother. No wonder Harry ran away.
      Charles doesn’t have a clue.

    • Becks1 says:

Accusations of rape and sexual assault are considered “slings and arrows” to Charles. If this article is meant to make Charles look good bc he’s not going to let Andrew back, it doesn’t, not really. It still shows the royal family as unwilling or unable to acknowledge what Epstein was doing, Andrew’s involvement with Epstein, and everything that entails (i.e. raping trafficked girls.)

      • Tessa says:

Charles should consider he got away with being divorced and marrying a divorced woman who was the other woman. The last Prince of Wales when he became King had to choose between marrying the mistress or the throne. Charles got to have it all.

    • A says:

Yeah, the whole family skips right over that every time. In one sense I can understand that. Because it’s not like Charles is gonna say he believes the accusations against his brother, is he? At the same time, you can’t remove Andrew from public life, and then turn around and pretend like that is not directly related to the accusations against him.

The real issue is that the media is letting them frame this as a question of Charles’ relationship to Andrew. It is not. It is a question of whether this family believes it is above the law, and how normal people can hold these jerks accountable for their crimes.

      Agreed @ Amy Bee

Every single comment from Charles and his sources relates to the negative impact on the Royal Family’s image and brand. No condemnation of the lifestyle Epstein cultivated and shared with his pals, and its devastating, lifelong impact on many girls. The Royal Family has not gone far enough. They could take a leaf from King Felipe of Spain’s decisive action around his father’s scandals.

    • Sunday says:

That’s a great point, and it really shows how narcissistic the royals are; they put themselves at the center of every single story because they truly believe they are the center of the universe. It’s all about how these accusations impact the royal family and their fakakta jubilee rather than thinking for one moment about anyone outside their orbit. It’s the same with all of the KP-sanctioned coverage of kate – it’s never about the organization or who is receiving the help, it’s all about how great she is for helping.

    • K.T says:

It’s a complete failure and reveals the narcissism that goes along with royals believing and being treated as godgiven rulers over peons. I mean, the whole firm has fought to smear the victims of Prince Andrew for almost a decade with very few noticing or caring. They forced US media to stop stories and used access journalism to withhold interviews with William/Kate just to kill coverage etc. Scotland Yard provided security to Prince Andrew and they have stonewalled any investigation in Epstein, which means either they’ve been instructed by the crown and/or they are too complicit.
British media seems too sexist and prejudiced to care about child trafficking that is alleged of Andrew. Their frame is only how much of a tragedy it is on their proto-granny ‘the queen’.

  6. Watcher says:

If he’s sympathetic even in a general sense, he’s got a bigger heart than I do.

Read Peter Hunt’s take on the Palace ‘s response; https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-royal-response-to-prince-andrew-s-epstein-scandal-is-failing
NB T his publication ‘s output is generally skewed in favour of the establishment.

  8. Sunday says:

Charles sucks and his comments here are awful, but he’s also kinda right? I mean, he’s an a$$ for centering himself in such a morally bankrupt way, but Andrew IS an unsolvable problem for the royals. If they make any moves to prevent him from using his HRH or kick him out of Royal Lodge it’s an admission of guilt that will open the flood gates. If the Queen’s son can be prosecuted (or sued) then it really leaves the rest of that craven bunch open to who knows what. On the other hand, if they continue to bury their heads in the sand, the criticism will only get louder. If he doesn’t respond to the summons, afaik he can be found guilty in absentia. So, what’s worse? Participating in the case and being found guilty, or ignoring it and being found guilty anyway? Even if the case goes in his favor, his participation further legitimizes Virginia’s truth which is almost as bad (for him) as an actual verdict.

And to all that I say, GOOD! He doesn’t deserve an easy out, he should absolutely be held responsible for his criminal, deplorable actions, and if it negatively reflects on the royals as a whole and casts a shadow over the stupid jubilee, so much the better! And all these self-serving, hand-wringing statements from Charles (and Will) just further expose their own solipsistic idiocy. Basically, Kim K it’s what she deserves gif times a million.

    • Tessa says:

Charles and William worked against Harry. Who did nothing wrong. They are not credible to me.

  9. Plums says:

Andrew is a whole ass can of worms even beyond his own personal criminality and close friendship with sex traffickers. Isn’t he also super involved in some truly dark “soft power” politics for the UK government? Like his official unofficial job is to glad hand and quid pro quo some of the worst fuckos in this world for favorable UK trade deals, isn’t it? Totally corrupt. They don’t want to lift the lid on this whole debacle beyond just Andrew. Epstein doesn’t “commit suicide” just to defend the dude’s princely honor or some shit.

  10. Veronica S. says:

The solution to the problem is he goes to jail for what he did lmao. Just because I love my siblings doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want them to see justice for committing crimes. I get how people get wrapped up in denial because you don’t want to believe your family did that, but man…at some point, you gotta let it go.

  11. Over it says:

My only take away from this dysfunctional bunch of morally bankrupt bunch of weirdos, is I thank god everyday that Harry saw the writing on the wall and took his family and left.
I won’t wish what Meghan went through on my greatest enemy well maybe the British media, but what I am saying is , all Meghan endured was a way for god to show Harry that there is a better , happier, healthier, safer way away from these people. They are absolutely vile. I wish Harry.Meghan and their children nothing but happiness from here on out.
