Cher is suing Sonny’s widow, Mary Bono, for withholding royalties from Sonny & Cher’s hit songs. I can’t believe there’s still Sonny & Cher drama. [JustJared]

Do you arrive at the airport two hours before your flight? [Pajiba]

Two or more hours, especially for my “random” extra checks by the TSA.
Yes! I get super anxious about flying, so I get flagged a lot as I’m always super unchill as I go through security. I’m glad to give them a chance to say: See! We also stop white people!!
Just came back from a cross-country flight – left for the airport 2 hrs ahead of check in (arrived 90 mins prior) and almost missed my flight, so ya – def will continue to be part of the 2 hrs ahead of time crowd from now until flying becomes a civilized process.
Team Cher!
Always Team Cher! Mary Bono is a Republican, my brother lived in her district years ago in Palm Springs and said she wasn’t a great Congress person.
Why would Bono’s widow keep Cher’s royalties unless she is a snake? I guess she is a snake.
Yes, Team Cher! Have always loved her!! I wish she would do more movies!!
Sonny absolutely SCREWED Cher in the first place. He was her husband and she trusted him, and he took advantage of her. He was 27 and she was 16 when they met, she’d been abandoned by her father and apparently Sonny resembled him. He took care of business, and even though she was always the bigger star, she eventually found out that Cher Enterprises was 95% owned by her husband, with the remaining 5% held by their lawyer. They paid her an absolute pittance, virtually nothing. Trusting her husband, Cher had also signed a restrictive contract that meant she couldn’t take jobs without Sonny. In the end, the two came to a deal in which Cher had to participate in more than a million dollars worth of shows and appearances with Sonny in order to leave her contract and to get some royalties. She left that marriage basically destitute and had to start all over again. And now his widow is trying to screw her out of that?? Not cool.
Absolutely. Cher always sings “I got you babe” when in concert, so she’s the whole reason Mary has that royalty income still. She should definitely be honoring the agreement Cher and Sonny had about them.
I lived in Palm Springs when Sonny had his restaurant.Sonny was very friendly and he was very friendly with my Dad.I don’t mean to be catty but Mary was a server there. She went pretty far especially after he passed.I think I had read that Sonny had a contract with Cher years ago and basically Cher was a servant to Sonny..I think she fought it years ago but she was very young when she signed it.I might be wrong but that’s what I read.
Too funny, on that powerwashing link, one of the photos is a house my boss designed! I recognized the entry.
Can’t wait for Succession!
Yes 2 hours ahead to the airport. I HATE running to catch a plane, I’d rather be there early and have time to grab something to eat or relax. One of the big airports near me is always slow going through TSA, I can’t imagine now!
@ lucy2, I love the power washers that created art out of the areas that they treated and I am impressed immensely!! But now I want my hubby to power wash our entire back yard now as our paved walkways don’t look as good as these do!! Plus the front picture of that home looks like a B/W photo but it’s not, it wasn’t until I noticed the blue front door! What a difference!!
At least 2 hours before a commercial flight
Because of where I live the airports are usually easy, but when I’ve had to fly out of Clearwater, FL we got there early and were first in line for the 1st 2 checkpoints.
I’m into this Cher business. More it’s interesting how royalties work along with widow and ex wife guess.
Always 2 hours before, 2.5 hours if we’re parking in the airport garage, and that’s at a minimum. I like to aim for 3 hours lol. Its usually plenty of time, sometimes too much time, but I have had one or two incidents where we’ve come close to missing our flight, so I still insist on it. If my husband had his way, we’d show up a half hour before. NOPE. I don’t mind sitting around airports, I read or get some food or whatever, so I don’t mind the extra time in exchange for less stress.
I show up an hour and an hour and a half before my flights, but that’s partly because I travel for business. I can’t afford to miss a flight because it means serious delays on getting on site to help customers, so it’s worth it to waste that extra hour at the airport than risk missing a flight due to some unexpected issue.
At least with Lady Gaga, we can assume there’s some awareness of the performance aspect? Like, nobody goes to Vegas for THE ART. They play shows in Vegas to rack up some sweet millions. Wearing a fake boa made of money seems to be a cheeky way of saying that.
We did less than 2 hours once and by the time we got to the gate, they had taken out names off the manifest. We were able to get on, but never again will we risk it!
Ha! Like I’m going to fly anywhere anytime soon.
The power washing photos give me life ❤️
Of course the mandates work. You have a lazy population who isn’t totally anti vax but aren’t there yet because they “want to wait” or “don’t know anyone personally”. Mandates work and are necessary.
I can’t believe that Candace Burke is running around decrying that she suffers from PTSD over her hosting gig at The View! My gosh, did she think it would be chasing kittens and petting puppies? What a BS response to being handsomely paid to chat, and if you didn’t know where you stood, why didn’t you educate yourself? Burke should reserve PTSD for those who are actually suffering, not some co-host on a talk show.
The term PTSD is really being abused nowadays; people toss out “Oh, i have PTSD from going through X” whenever they have an unpleasant experience. PTSD can be a very debilitating disorder, and people using the term for much lesser unpleasantries makes it so much harder for people truly suffering from PTSD to be taken seriously.
I agree, the same with service animals v emotional support animals. A service animal is a much different animal and should be respected and treated as an animal that you must adhere to their restrictions. They are not there for your amusement and they are not pets. Service animals are specially trained and used as a support system for their owner. Emotional support animals are NOT allowed ay every establishment or form of transportation that you would like to use, they are not trained and you must leave them at home. The land of the faked privilege demanding that the rules be allowed for them, and them only.
Sue her ass off, Cher.
How early do I get to the airport? Depends the size of the airport and if I have bags to check. The small one gate airport, an hour drive from us, 30 seconds through TSA, the same airport employees park the plane, roll the steps to the plane door, and then become the gate agent. I only show up 30 minutes before boarding.
When we lived 15 minutes away from Dulles airport (Washington DC), I always showed up 2 hours early, and that was with someone dropping me off, and still no bags to check. Even after going through a long wait at TSA, you take either a train, a moving walkway, a weird bus, or maybe all 3, to get to your gate.
