Baby2Baby is an LA-based charity that provides diapers and supplies to families in need. So many celebrities have been working with them for years, and the turnout was excellent at their tenth annual gala on Saturday. Kaiser is covering some of the other women who were there. First off is Jennifer Garner in a black satin strapless gown. She’s not wearing the maybe-engagement ring! I was hoping we’d get a whole engagement announcement, but she either wasn’t engaged or isn’t ready to announce it. This is a pretty, simple gown and it makes her styling shine. Those emerald and diamond drop earrings and necklace are gorgeous and I love her green clutch. This is an elegant look.
Kerry Washington was also in Prada, in a blush off-the-shoulder silk-wool gown with “crystal and sequin embroidery,” according to an email Prada sent us. I like the retro silhouette and how tailored and flattering this is. It fits her perfectly. I like how the sequins are kind of raining down the front, that’s cool. Her hair matches the late 50s/early 60s style of the look too.
Nicole Richie was in black Vintage Christian Dior with a subtle embellished overlay and little bows at the neck and waist. Her earrings are phenomenal. She must have had a busy weekend attending Paris’s wedding and this gala. I can’t confirm whether she went to either or both of Paris’s wedding parties. If I was her I would have gone to the wedding and carnival at least.
Hilary Duff was in this red sequin Osman gown with puffy shoulders and a deep v-neck and high leg slit. This is straight out of Dynasty and is not that cute. It would be a fun dress for another occasion.
Ciara wore a brown Peter Dundas look that seemed mismatched. It’s like they threw two separate dresses together and tried to make the parts work. This is just bizarre. Without the ruffles it might be a decent look.
Jenna Dewan was in a baby blue off the shoulder floral print satin gown. The print is a little fussy for me but she looks glamorous and happy.
Vanessa Bryant was there with her daughter, Natalia. They look so cute in coordinating pink and I hope they’re both doing well. Vanessa was honored with the Giving Tree award for her support of Baby2Baby.

None of the dresses are good, it goes from ugly to just why. The mirrors of Kerry make it look cheap and the. Puffy sleeves of Hilary dress ruined it.

Actually I didn’t but why should I lie and say they dress are nice when I think they are ugly.
The print on Jenna Dewan’s dress would have shown better without all the fuss. A sleek column would have been gorgeous in that fabric.

Yeah, I think if you took the sleeve/shoulder wrap portion off and just gave her a cream shawl or nothing at all it would have looked better. Loved the fabric and color though.
Agreed, the fabric is beautiful but the style didn’t show it to advantage. But Nicole Richie! Elegant and unique. I loved it.
Jenna Dewan looks amazing. I think the embroidery is gorgeous.
It is!!! The dress is dynamic and not too over the top. Though I hate those sleeves that come down a bit. It must be hell to raise your arms too!

IMO, Kerry for the win. Great dress, great styling. Jenna comes in 2nd for me. I love the dress’ fabric , but w/out the straight-jacket sleeves; they look so bindingly uncomfortable. The print is gorgeous though, and her styling is lovely. Nicole comes in 3rd for me (if we could ditch that bow on the shoulder; competes with the earrings).
I love Jen’s jewels, and the color of the clutch (HUGE green fan here; emeralds are my fav stone!), but that dress squishes her chest, and poofs out at the waist, making her hippy.
Hilary…girl, just NO. That dress makes her look like a linebacker. Beautiful color though. Isn’t the fashion “do” either boobs or legs? The deep V and high slit just no bueno with the padded shoulders added in.
Ciara’s is just all around bad. The sheer top is bunching all over, and between the full ruffle, the mermaid skirt being too tight, it’s just a bad thing to do to a beautiful woman.
Vanessa… sigh… WHY are feathered sleeves a “thing” this year? It just makes her look “wide” in that still shot, and she’s slim. Perhaps it looks better in movement? Her daughter is beautiful in pink, and looks so happy to be there.

I know!!! I think from what we can see, she is certainly stunning!! I don’t think I have ever seen her in anything bad. She knows how to dress and she pulls her looks together so effortlessly in which she is always stunning!!
I love everyone’s look except Hillary, why Hillary why?? And poor Ciara, who did that to you? They did you dirty, that’s all I know. As for Vanessa, girl, no one should wear feathers except the cast of Sesame Street! Please designers, no more frikin’ feathers!!! We aren’t birds!!
Kerry’s gown is my fave. It has that sleek late 60s/early 70s look that I’m seeing elsewhere these days.

I think they all look pretty (good makeup and mostly good hair) and happy, but Hillary’s dress is the wrong cut (love the color) and I agree that Jenn Garner’s isn’t doing her (lovely) figure many favors, but her hair/makeup/styling looks great. Totally agree that it’s not cool to give someone as gorgeous as Ciara that design mess, but the color is also nice on that one at least. Jenna is posing for her life but looks good. I love Kerry’s styling and would have liked to see more of her dress. Nicole Richie is the solid win of this group for me, everything looks fantastic and the fit on her gown is perfect.
Seeing Vanessa and Natalia smile makes me happy. I love their pink and I hope they are well. Also, Natalia looks so much like her mom when she smiles!
Jennifer Garner always looks the same and boring. I wish she would have more fun with getting dressed up for these types of events. Kerry Washington, Jenna Dewan, Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba (who was not in this article but attended the event) looked fantastic as well.
Kerry’s dress is beautiful. I also liked Ivy Getty’s wedding dress. I do like shiny things, eh?
Not a fan of either Hillary Duff’s or Ciara’s. Hillary’s is way too Dynasty for me. You can do 80s without it looking like you just put on a gown from the 80s. Same for Ciara’s and a 90s top and 80s bottom, although hers has the added negative of a color that I just don’t like much.
Jennifer Garner always cleans up well and I’ve always loved her red carpets look. I do not expect her to look like that at all times but it’s such a difference from her offensively terrible frumpy mom outfits.
