It always cracks me up when some relatively minor event in LA ends up getting a huge A-list red carpet turnout. So it is for Baby2Baby, a very popular and well-supported national nonprofit providing clothes, diapers and essential items to parents and children living in poverty. Baby2Baby has a huge amount of support from the Hollywood A-list, and the annual Baby2Baby gala has grown in size in recent years. This year’s gala was mega! So many big-name celebrities came out. CB and I have split up some of the photos.
The thing about Jeff Bezos is that when he was married to Mackenzie, they rarely attended events in LA. I’m sure they had their own social circle, but the circle was decidedly un-Hollywood, un-celebrity. That changed when he left his wife for Lauren Sanchez – she loves to go out, she loves to be seen, she loves Hollywood events. I mean, typical trophy wife/girlfriend, but it goes beyond the cliche – men with Jeff Bezos’ power and money generally want wives who are social butterflies, who will expand their social horizons. So yeah, Jeff and Lauren went to the gala. He could fund Baby2Baby for 300 years and it would just be a drop in the bucket. I hope he did write a large check. If Lauren got him to make a big donation, I won’t make fun of her plastic surgery for a month.
Kate Hudson wore Carolina Herrera – this feels on-brand for Kate, she loves pink and red and she likes weird clothing which isn’t always that flattering. I could do without the puffy sleeve and I think the dress would have looked so much better without it. Kate was there with her man, Danny Fujikawa.
Jessica Alba in Prada. Wow, she looks great? She’s had that honey-caramel hair color for so long, I forgot how amazing she looks with dark hair. Her hair color took five years off, I swear.
Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors. It’s a cute dress, honestly, but way too summery for a November gala, I don’t even care that it’s in LA.
Mindy Kaling in Valentino. Oh, God. I love her but I don’t always love the clothes she chooses. THAT RUFFLE!!!
Riley Keough in The Row. Why the bangs? Why the bedsheet? Since it’s The Row, I’m sure the bedsheet retails for upwards of $3000 but it really is just a white sheet.

I would be embarrassed and laughing at Bezos if he wasn’t the wealthiest man on the planet and also one of the most dangerous.
Your married partner flirts with someone and instead of a discussion you’d break up?
Dignity? Being upset about an innocent flirtation at a party is a sign of deep insecurity. I’m loathe to defend Bezos but he handled it well with that humorous tweet. Sure, his employees have to wear diapers in lieu of bathroom breaks but we’ve never had any indication that he’s a controlling abusive partner.
I’m actually wondering if there’s trouble in paradise? The last couple times we’ve seen red carpet pics of them, they’ve had their arms around each other but the rest of their bodies weren’t touching, and I remember “body language experts” saying that when a couple aren’t pelvis-to-pelvis or hip-to-hip in posed photos that means intimacy is waning. And that is actually one thing body language experts have generally been right about. I know we only see a few pics, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a breakup coming.
Eh, I don’t think she was flirting with him. I think we got a 3-second segment of film of her looking up and leaning in without any context, and her perceived thirst in general filled in the blanks.
Kate works hard on her body to show it off. She never made that a secret and that is one of the things I like about her as she is direct about things like that.
So I wonder, did she tone it down because of the event or is she and Danny expecting again.
I know we’re not supposed to speculate about possible pregnancies but my very first thought was “Oh, she’s pregnant again!” I apologize if that’s not the case and just an optical illusion from the dress, sash, placement of her hand and angle of the photo (the one with DF, it’s not as “noticeable” in the one of her alone).
I love Jessica’s dress but her makeup seems a bit too harsh, and I would love Mindy’s dress minus that unnecessary white ruffle.

As long as you’re standing. How do you walk in it? It clearly bunches up on the ground. Not sure expensive dresses should do that. It should be flush to the ground, but not gathered up like that, IMO.
She looks timeless and classic. Much better than any of the others. Okay it’s a bit long and dragging but otherwise I like it!

and I will NEVER NEVER EVER understand the fascination with The Row clothing line. every item I’ve ever seen on their site can be purchased at Banana Republic or the Gap for less than a quarter of the price. their khakis were like, $900. so frickin’ stupid. all of their stuff is bland and boring and ridiculously priced.

Same here @ Betty Rose! What has she done? She doesn’t look the same at all!! Too much of everything. I guess everyone in Hollywood got bored during the pandemic and all went to the same plastic surgeon! Yikes!!!
Jessica Alba looks like AOC to me in that pic. Not a fan of the sheet dress, esp. not at the price point I’m sure it’s at. Kate’s dress would have been so much better without the giant sleeve, it’s distracting and looks silly. Mindy, I love you so hard, but the ruffle is a NO and the feathered tuft on the clutch is, too. And Lauren Sanchez…does her face ever just look, you know, NORMAL?? I think she has surgically removed her ability to make facial expressions other than “manic” or “intense sexyface.”
@ AMA1977, I agree wholeheartedly!! I love and adore Mindy, but why??? That dress is awful on so many levels!! The ruffle should have been destroyed! Kates dress is so bad, I don’t know where to start, but the sash and the sleeve both need to go! And Sanchez is just a caricature at this point. If she thinks she looks good, she must have a carnival mirror in her house because no one looks like THAT in real life!
@BothSidesNow, agree, so much!! What does she look like when she’s not posing for her life? And who told her it looks good? The shame of it is that she was an objectively beautiful woman before she started making questionable surgical “enhancements” and now…well, I am no fan of her current face.
Every time I see Sanchez’s face it just weirds me out how unnatural she looks. Sorry, but it’s true. She triggers my white coat syndrome.
