So very sad. Way too young to go and a great talent. His poor wife and kids. May he rest in peace.
Very sad. RIP to him and strength for the family
Such sad news. I didn’t know much about him but he came across as humble and friendly, and seemed to be on his way to being a true trailblazer. May his family find some strength in how he touched a lot of people’s lives for the better.
My sister is devastated. Was a vast loss to the artistic world and community.
For those in the Greater Boston area, the ICA-Boston currently has an exhibit of Virgil Abloh’s work running through the end of December.
I was coming here to mention that. thanks for getting the news out.
Thanks for sharing, I’ll have to try to check it out! I have a friend who I’m sure would want to go.
I think there is also an exhibit for him at the Miami Art Basil exhibition in a few days. He was such a trailblazer for people of color to get a seat at the biggest tables in fashion
A tragic loss 💚 a true visionary
WHAT!!!
On a totally different note regarding the Tiptoe reindeer story, I have a deep seated desire to dance upon the graves of people who place polar bears and penguins together. I’m not saying how they get in their graves, so totally not a threat 😂
Damn you , cancer.
I am looking forward to Mahershala Ali playing Blade. I remember reading that Marvel approached him about joining the MCU and his request was for Blade so they made it happen.
I’m really excited about that too. Wesley Snipes really made me love the whole Blade series. I’m looking forward to the Marvel version.
I still watch Blade to this day. My dad had us watching each Blade when it came out on DVD (or was it VHS at first? I don’t know how old these movies are!)
RIP
I was sad to hear about this yesterday. I wasn’t familiar with him, but h was so young and clearly opening doors that others will walk through.
This is why I find this so sad. Virgil really seemed like he was trying to bring up other diverse voices and talents…and now that energy, that’s gone…
