Olivia Rodrigo is the current “pop princess” beloved by the Recording Academy and the fans. I enjoy the fact that Olivia doesn’t go “sugary” for red carpets – she’s not wearing a tutu or leaning into the “Disney princess” thing whatsoever. She usually wears black gowns and she’s not adverse to showing some skin. For the Grammys red carpet, she wore this structured Vivienne Westwood, which is a more than solid choice for where Olivia is right now. Olivia won three Grammys for her debut album – Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. PS… She dropped one of her Grammys when she posed with them last night!
Billie Eilish, arguably the other “alt-pop princess,” wore Rick Owens on the red carpet, then changed into a t-shirt with an image of the late Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters. Billie’s Rick Owens look was criticized but… I don’t know, it’s the Grammys? She looked fine, she looked whatever. I loathe the sunglasses but otherwise, this is what I expected from her.

I’m certainly not in either of these singers target fan base, but I feel sorry for Billie Eilish. She looked really happy and pretty at the Met Gala but her “fans” dumped all over her. So now she has to dress like she’s either wearing a bedspread or a trash bag and she looks miserable in every picture. Go figure.
Didn’t Mariah wear a similar version before, minus the straps?
Olivia Rodrigo needs a new stylist. Not because this particular dress is bad (it’s lovely) but because she always looks deeply uncomfortable in whatever she’s wearing.
I agree with you. She looks great, but she doesn’t look like she feels great in what she’s wearing.
I think it’s because she’s trying to be cool and sophisticated but is still just a kid. The Y2K aesthetic doesn’t help either, because when I think back to that period, the 18-21 year old pop stars of the time came across as fully comfortable in their own skin.
I agree, it looks like it’s too tight or something, and she doesn’t look at all comfortable.
Whatever that weird thing is that Billie is wearing is fine because it’s Billie. Olivia always leans hard into the late 90s, Y2K trend. Both singers have a style and stick with it.

Olivia looks really pretty! Love her whole styling.
Billie… No comment 😂
There’s something about the corset top, the stiff fabric and where the hips of the pink crystal figure land on Olivia’s body that does something weird to her mid-section – but she looks pretty and happy.
Rick Owens is a hoot, but I wonder if this “Morticia meets Origami” would have been more striking in some alarmingly bright color, or any color, really.
Adore Olivia and happy she won! I loved her styling, but I hated that dress. Would’ve been fine with the pink lines down the sides, but the weird cleavage outline is bizarre and took the Vegas setting a little too seriously.
Billie is giving me Lydia Deetz vibes.
Hate Olivia’s dress. She looks like a kid playing dress up. I didn’t want her to win.
I liked Olivia’s look.
Vivienne Westwood is one of my favorite designers but this dress Olivia Rodrigo wore was so basic and not that great. Those neon tracks look cheap. Westwood has so many iconic designs and this conveys nothing about her work.
I find Olivia R to be one of the prettiest young stars/famous people out there today. While I am not knowledgeable of plastic surgery/enhancements, anything she has done (if she has?) looks very reasonable to me and I think she’s just so pretty and still youthful without that weird kewpie doll lip/face filler look. And her music is right up my Gen X alley.
I genuinely think Olivia was going for an updated version/photo op of Taylor Swift’s Fearless Grammy wins. Same silhouette on the dress, hair, dropping a Grammy, all that. And I don’t mean any of that in a bad way.
