The annual Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition is here and guess who made the cover? That’s right, Kim Kardashian. Actually surprised that Kim hasn’t covered the issue before. Kim joins Ciara, Maye Musk (Elon’s mom) and Yumi Nu in getting this year’s four SI covers.
It occurs to me that they shot Kim’s editorial before her recent fixation on Marilyn Monroe. Kim really dyed her hair blonde for the Met Gala, and she’s still blonde right now. She’s got her old dark hair for the SI cover. While I enjoy the fact that SI is embracing size diversity and age diversity and racial diversity, there are so many curvy women I would have rather seen on the cover of SI. Plus, this just serves as yet another reminder than Kim… actually isn’t all that sexy? She has the body, she’s very pretty. But it’s all so sterile to me. Whatever.
Here are some photos of Kim being a soccer mom over the weekend, with her blonde hair and Balenciaga all-black outfit. Saint West is the soccer player.

Did anyone else notice she’s wearing gloves in the SI photo?!!
At first, when she started with the gloves, I thought it was a fashion thing. Now I think she just hates her hands! They are a bit stubby, and look better when she has a long oval nail instead of her natural, squared-off nails.
I’m so embarrassed that I put so much thought into this.
She has said before that she hates her hands – when Kanye proposed I think one of her comments was that she was upset that her hands didn’t look good to her so she got her nails done (and added some tips) and she posted new photos.
The gloves are so weird!
I think it’s because hands and arms show signs of aging. You can see in the “soccer mom” photos that her hands look older, her arms have a bit of sag and the elbows will have that bit of sag that normally comes with aging.
I wonder if she was covering up a psoriasis flare-up.
Either psoriasis or Raynauds, where cold air and cold water cause small blood vessels to spasm and tingle and burn and turn fingers waxy white. She wears gloves a lot outdoors and has for a while now. My granddaughter has Raynauds and it affects her toes, as well, and is painful.
A few things.
First, why does she insist on wearing nude colors all the time when they wash her out because she has faked her skin color so much and there are so many bright beautiful colors out there? I have no issue with neutrals, it’s a style, but so weird because it just reminds me that that is not her skin tone.
Second, I wonder how she feels about that photography style/angle creating the illusion of cellulite on that leg.
Third, I do not think the rumors that she’s slowly minimizing the butt preponderance (I call it her preponderass) based on these photos.
Finally, this is the one time I’m cool with the wet hair look because she is actually in water.

Hootenannie, your 2nd point was my thought exactly. It does look like cellulite. This pose and suit color do nothing for her at all.
I think it’s to make her looks basically naked.
L, I think that’s the look she strives for.

In the soccer game photos…is she wearing snowboarding pants?! It looks like she’s wearing snowboarding pants.
Why celebrate someone as fake as Kim Kardashian? She’s had work done head to toe. Is this the REAL reason she “lost” the weight? Also, she’s 5 shades darker in those pics. Still wants to cosplay being a WOC. Also, she must call the paps to let them know when she’ll be at Saint’s games. It’s so obvious. “Look at me ! I’m a normal single mom !”. What you don’t see are the nannies out of photo range.

Her boobs are way smaller, like literally less than half the size compared two a couple years ago.

Stars, they’re just like us!! I have those camp chairs, lol. Neither of my kids plays soccer anymore, but when they did I’d set up a canopy too, because of the sun. I’m surprised Kim doesn’t have the built-in canopy chairs.
I also would not wear all-black at an outdoor sporting event, but I’m not FASHUN like Kim pretends to be. Blonde hair looks truly terrible on her, she should embrace the dark hair that suits her.
Agree that a bright tropical color swimsuit would look much better on her, the beige is boring and washes her out. It also made me feel better to know that this image has been airbrushed to hell and back and she STILL has cellulite. And that’s all I’ve got.
I dunno I really like this photo. I think it reminds me A LOT of her face when she was a teen (you guys know that pic of her in a bikini top?) kinda also like that they didn’t smooth her skin to oblivion
That’s what I was thinking. She will never get back the unique look her face had before all the tweaks, but it looks a lot more natural than it has in a long time.
The first “soccer mom” pictures accentuates all the work she has had done on her face and it is not a pretty sight.
The blonde style in the soccer photo is definitely a lace front, but not sure if her hair is still blonde. On another note, I think Kim could be sexy, but she has turned “sexiness” into a formula, just like her sisters. We’ve seen it all for decades, so this isn’t really extraordinary. I suppose she is checking one more thing off the bucket list.
The thing is that sexiness isn’t just physical – it’s also an attitude and a state of mind. When I look at KK, I don’t see a person who is sensual, at home with her body, open to experience. I see someone who’s uncomfortable with her body and who denies pleasure in favor of a rigidly controlled appearance.

This is my feeling exactly. I know it’s a weird thing to say about her but she’s not a naturally sexy person. I think she’s too sinecure and rigid and she realized that sexiness as part of her brand was a winner so I think she often “performs sexy”. She has the sexy body and pretty face but i don’t think i’ve ever seen her in something and thought she looked comfortable or like herself. She’s too hyper aware of her image. She could be butt naked and i still don’t get sensual vibes from her because sexiness is about a certain energy/vibe and i don’t think she’s ever had that. I think she looks pretty on the cover though.

I thought Kim was gorgeous AND sexy in the late 00s (2008/2009) before she went all in on the surgery. She’s made her appearance sterile.
This is only adjacent, but I think Yumi Nu (one of the alt covers) has an interesting look and I like her. Side rant: As a plus size person, I really wish sometimes they would give plus size women more interesting bottom suits, I hated all of them in the shoot.

Saint is adorable in his pout and on Mom’s knee. He and North look the most like Kanye, in my opinion.
