Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has been “promoting” her latest historical romance novel in recent months. That promotion means she’s given dozens of interviews about her ex-husband and his family. For the most part, I’ve only paid attention to what she says about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but she’s also made extensive statements on Prince Andrew, King Charles, Queen Camilla, the ghost of QEII, as well as her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie. If I have to read one more quote about how QEII’s ghost is haunting Fergie, I will scream. But I digress – Fergie has also spoken at length about how King Charles is a brilliant man and how he’ll be a great king, and how much she adores both Charles and Camilla. She’s really been laying it on thick, although (to her credit?) she’s also talked about how she isn’t expecting an invitation to the coronation. Good, because she’s not getting one:
King Charles is not inviting his former sister-in-law the Duchess of York to his coronation, The Independent has learnt. Sarah Ferguson, who still lives with Prince Andrew and is very close to him even though they divorced in 1996, will have to watch the May 6 celebrations at Westminster Abbey on TV.
The King and Queen Consort’s decision means that Fergie will not be seated next to her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, who are 10th and 11th in line to the throne. The exclusion is somewhat surprising as Andrew was recently invited to Windsor by the King over Easter, even though it has been made clear that the duke will be excluded from the inner workings of the royal family.
The refusal to invite the duchess will cause a debate among royal watchers, as some see her as a national treasure who has courageously overcome financial and personal problems within the royal family, while others see her as an error-prone embarrassment.
“She has been hugely suppportive of Charles and Camilla and does not want this to become about her,” a friend said. “The whole day is about the new King and the success of his reign but she has always championed the royal family and the Queen undoubtedly would have wanted her to be there.”
Yeah, I read many of Fergie’s interviews so you didn’t have to, and I can safely say that she was never expecting an invite. She was speaking openly about watching the coronation on TV with the dogs. Was that some kind of feint because she was secretly hoping for an invite? I don’t know. I was actually surprised that she was invited to QEII’s funeral, but I guess that happened because QEII did have a soft spot for her. Charles does not. But it sounds like Camilla does want Fergie to stick around, probably for the same reason Diana liked to keep Fergie around – Fergie makes everyone else look good by comparison.

I agree with all the above sentiment from Kaiser, her expections were met and were based in reality.
Fergie knows not to expect anything from the royals. I feel sad that she isn’t invited and wont get to be with her children. Charles is so stupid: the coronation is supposed to be a joyous unique occasion to bring everyone together. He should’ve let everybody know that all his family is welcome to his coronation, that the clowing might be a state affair, but in the end, this is about family. Now everyone sitting in westminster has beef with the clueless king, and is not going in all happiness. That balcony moment could’ve been great with 100% family. They just have no idea how to navigate their petty, but im also glad we see their real awful side.
Nothing about these people is joyous. They are all bitter and twisted and we’re seeing it out in the open.
She tried to sell access. She knows all the money launders. She introduced andrew to ghaslaine. She cant go to the coronation.
I suspect fergie should be glad she has never went to jail. I assumed her press tour was also a “hey, can i go” tour but of course she cant.
You’re completely correct but when you say she knows all the money launders… well, one can’t help think of suitcases full of cash. I mean hello?! Ha.
Honestly this description sounds like she fits right in with them.
I pity Sarah (I refuse to call her Fergie). She is not a good person by any stretch of the imagination. I pity her for being the royal whipping post and being treated so horribly to this day for things that happened 30 years ago but then again I think that’s been an active choice on her part to be that whipping post for the royal family.
That family sure has a lot of whipping posts. Then again they seem to need a lot.
@brassyrebel You really have to wonder how bad things are behind the scenes, huh?
We’ve only scratched the surface as far as what we know. 🫣
Everything she does has to be looked at through the lense of how does this benefit her. Why is she making this known? To get a highly paid guest royal expert invite by ABC or a major network is my guess.
She would probably like that better than actually attending.
It’s been reported that Camilla doesn’t like the Yorks and that she still holds a grudge against Andrew for siding with Diana. Fergie knew that she wasn’t going to be invited to the coronation.
Andrew sided with Diana? How so?
If I come across another of her quotes claiming that “Andrew is a good man,” I swear I’ll spit up.
Beatrice is 9th in line of succession, her daughter Sienna is 10th. For royal watchers they can’t even get the facts right.
I bet there are quite a few people who which they could watch this mess at home in their Jammie’s with their dogs
Sarah knows where the bodies are buried re Andrew and the institution will protect him at all costs. She’ll reinforce the misogynoir- filled defamation against Meg, and the institution wants that too. Plus Sarah isn’t popular so she isn’t a threat to the RF and is easy to control so long as she has a royal roof over her head and plenty of booze. Sarah is just the sort of person the RF cultivates.
Can she sing? It sounds like the big concert is still short a few acts.
🤭😂😂😂
I think she should be able to be there with her kids. I hate exclusivity. I think that is why I dislike the Toffs so much. They have done nothing to earn their place in the world.
Charles is as dumb as dirt. He should be worried about the public seeing Andrew there— who cares if Andrew isn’t “involved in the inner workings of the BRF?” No one can see that. He should be openly and publicly shaming his brother. FFS.
Is Andrew invited to the coronation?
I can’t believe she keeps saying what a good man Andrew is and with a straight face. How can anyone even say these absurd statements and not be called out on them. Doesn’t she realize who he really is? I don’t get it. One more time hearing how awesome Andrew is will be too much.
