These are photos from last night’s Broadway Extravaganza event, which is Rosie O’Donnell’s charity for Broadway. The blond teenage boy is her son Parker! He’s all grown up. He’s a cutie, too. Chelsea is the little one making a “I hate you all” face, which she probably gets from Rosie. I’m so glad to see Parker, though. He really is growing up well.
Anyway, in all of the randomness and over-the-top tabloid stories coming out about Rosie O’Donnell and Kelli Carpenter’s split (two years ago), one salient detail had slipped my mind: Rosie is single now. Oh, God. She’s back on the market! When People Magazine cornered Rosie at her Broadway Extravaganza event, Rosie admitted that being single again sucked big time.
Living single is less than rosy for Rosie O’Donnell.
“I’m not [enjoying the single life],” O’Donnell told PEOPLE Monday at Rosie’s Broadway Extravaganza annual gala. “But on we grow, so to speak.”
Earlier this month, O’Donnell revealed on her SIRIUS Satellite radio show that her longtime partner Kelli Carpenter had moved out two years ago.
Accompanied at the gala by her son Parker, 15, the former View co-host side -stepped other questions regarding her personal life but says that through everything, her four kids are doing “very well.”
Her friend Judy Gold says O’Donnell waited two years to let the public know of the split because of her children. “She has the kids,” said Gold. “I think she’s entitled to her private life and that’s what it is, private.”
Although O’Donnell may not enjoy being single, Gold said that “Ro” is getting by just fine: “She seems happy and grounded. She’s in the drivers seat here.”
O’Donnell’s annual Broadway Extravaganza, held in New York City, is a fundraiser for her arts education organization, Rosie’s Kids.

I feel for her… but I’m sure there’s someone out there for her. I’m being serious too – I’m not saying Rosie’s a catch, but I’m sure she’ll be able to find someone nice and decent. Her friend Judy Gold told OK! Magazine that Rosie isn’t ready for us to fix her up, though. Gold said: “I don’t think she’s probably ready. You have that marriage, you have the kids — it’s a long process. I have no idea. [With the split], I think it’s her choice and I think she has kids… I think she’s entitled to her private life, and that’s what it is — private. I think it’s great that she’s in the driver’s seat here.” Aw… poor Rosie. I want her to find someone nice, but quirky. Last night Natasha Lyonne and Queen Latifah were at the event… maybe they want to date Rosie?

She may be entitled to her private life, but I wish she would shut up about the private lives of friends, acquaintances, and strangers about whom she freely runs her loud, obnoxious mouth.
She hates being single? Hmm, haven’t they been split for a couple years? I got over being single about 10 min into it. Better than being with someone who is a miserable human being.

@YT: Sadly, Rosie is not one to live away from the spotlight, so I can’t see her shutting up and being discreet about her friends/acquaintences’ private lives any time soon.
Hmm…she looks kinda pretty in last night’s pics. Especially when you hold them up against the one with Natasha Lyonne.
Until she conquers her issues, then she’s another one who I don’t think will have many takers. She’s always so argumentive when people don’t share her views on topics. I can see why her wife left her, I guess Donald trump was right on that one. I don’t think she’s relationship material for anyone right now.
I don’t know why the sight of her son shocks me a bit. I can remeber when she first adopted him and now he looks like a full grown teenager. Has it really been THAT many years? Wow.
Good to see Natasha out and about and looking healthy. I think she and Rosie would make a cute couple…
Random thought dept.: Does anyone happen to know how long Rosie and Kelli Carpenter were together? I only heard about Kelli a couple years ago, and I guess (according to Rosie’s recent admission) they were already over at that point – so how long could they really have been together?
@ Tia, Rosie and Kelli were married in 2004 and were together for at least 5 years before that, which would put the start of their relationship in 1999 at the latest. They were very discreet so I don’t know if anyone really knows when they started seeing each other.

I think some of these pics show the prettiest she’s ever looked (not that that’s saying much). Fuller, softer hair definitely helps!

Man, I really liked Rosie a long time ago in the Flintstones. Sadly, if they were casting that movies sequel now the only part she may garner would be that of Fred. She is definitely YABADABAYUCKY!!!
They are all really cute kids but the smallest one is gorgeous!
That woman said “Rosie has the kids” which isn’t true. Kelli took her biological daughter with her. Rosie has the three adopted kids!! Just wanted to point that out since, apparently, this is a TOTAL split with Kelli living in the city and Rosie out in the ‘burbs somewhere with the three kids. I seriously doubt Kelli sees or is helping to raise the adopted kids.
The little brown-haired girl is pretty cute and spunky-looking, and Parker seems like he’s in that awkward teen phase but I’m sure he’ll be super handsome when he’s older. The blonde girl though seems scared and shy and intimidated…I feel kinda of bad for her, it’s like she doesn’t want to be there.

I used to enjoy Rosie before she got all bristly and bitter the last few years…
She has such a heartwarming sneer every time there’s a camera around.
Maybe she wouldn’t look so harsh if she had her lips augmented a bit. She does tend to look all snarly and unfriendly.
@ Essie, Rosie has said that the kids are all still living together, and she & Kelli are still parenting them together. Rosie has always had videos on her blog that she shoots from her home, and Kelli & the kids were in them, together, more recently than 2 yrs ago.
