Lord Almighty, I hate this guy. I used to give Adam Lambert the benefit of the doubt, but now I just think he’s milking this AMA “controversy” for all that it’s worth, and he’s doing one of my least favorite things ever, playing the victim. Don’t get me wrong – some people in Hollywood are unfairly maligned at various times, and could actually be considered “victims” of something or the other. But Adam Lambert is not the victim of anything other than his own grossness. After the sudden announcement that Good Morning America was dropping Lambert from their show, Adam gave an interview to Ryan Seacrest’s website claiming that his raunchy, oral sex-projecting AMA performance was “something female performers have been doing for years. All of a sudden a guy does it, and it’s crazy. I do think there’s a slight double standard.” Yeah…if Carrie Underwood had done a similar, heterosexual version, I’m pretty sure people would still be pissed and grossed out.
Everyone’s aflutter about Adam Lambert’s racy performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday – except Adam Lambert.
“I’m not a babysitter, I’m a performer,” Lambert, 27, tells Ryan Seacrest in an interview on the latter’s Web site, adding, “The spirit of rock and roll is alive and well.”
Not on ABC, which apparently didn’t approve of Lambert’s stage show in which he French-kissed a band member and simulated oral sex. The network has made it clear that Lambert won’t be performing on its morning program. It cancelled an appearance on Good Morning America slated for Wednesday after receiving over 1,500 complaints about the Sunday broadcast. The network says it doesn’t feel he’d be appropriate for a morning audience. After the GMA cancellation, CBS asked Lambert to perform on its Early Show on Wednesday instead.
“I think the adrenaline kind of took me over,” Lambert tells Seacrest. “I admit and I’m kind of proud of the fact that I did get a little carried away. I had a good time and I was merely interpreting the lyrics of my song. It wasn’t meant to piss anyone off, it wasn’t meant to hurt anyone or cause any problems.”
But the reaction, he says, is far out of proportion to the offense.
“I don’t feel like I owe anyone an apology,” he says. “I did something female performers have been doing for years. All of a sudden a guy does it, and it’s crazy. I do think there’s a slight double standard.”
His fans seem to agree. On Twitter, the topic #shameonYouABC has been a hot topic since the GMA cancellation was announced, with many fans accusing the network of homophobia and discrimination.
Though he doesn’t hold any grudges against the network, Lambert says that at least people have more realistic expectations since his days on a reality-show competition.
“I’m sexual person, and maybe people didn’t see that on American Idol,” he says. “But now … they do.”
[From People]
The one thing I’ll give Lambert is the whole “I’m not a babysitter” thing. It really isn’t his responsibility to be a role model for impressionable kids, and no celebrity gets to choose their fans or their detractors. However, I get the feeling Lambert is confused about why people are angry – and it’s mainly because he did it on ABC. If he had done the same performance on MTV, there really wouldn’t be much controversy, in my opinion. But because it was network television, and because it was live, it’s a really huge, inappropriate deal.
It’s good that he isn’t apologizing, because there is nothing to apologize for. People should be ashamed of their hypocrisy and their barely disguised homophobia. Adam is an amazing singer and he provided a good show, especially when we compare what he did with the disasters that are Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna.
All I can say is, more power to him. People need to educate themselves and stop being so indecently prudish against minorities.
ABC are only showing their true colours for turning against him, when they KNEW what he was going to do on stage. As for Carrie Underwood courting controversy in a similar manner, all I can say, Kaiser, is that her half-baked oatmeal self is too tepid, unoriginal and foolish to come up with anything other than “What would Jesus do?” when she is confronted with the dilemma of wearing an ordinary chastity belt or a full out monastic habit.
The problem is, Adam, that we don’t expect you to be a babysitter, but we do expect you to be able to sing.
If you can’t sing while you’re running around simulating sex acts, then I don’t want to see you perform live either.
This kid is just that..a kid. It reminds me of the time my 14 yr. old cousin thought it’d be funny to run through the house naked. It really wasn’t that funny, she got yelled at and grounded.
Adam, for your own sake, I’m grounding you until you grow up a little and acknowledge that while yes, some women performers are notorious for sexed-up concerts, they generally are actually established performers that know how to keep the grossness factor relatively low. You haven’t even released your album yet (I don’t think) and from what I heard you screeching, I don’t think it’s going to sell quite as much as you may think.
I don’t care if you like men, women, animals, inanimate objects or all four at once. Pont Neuf, if you call me a homophobe for thinking this kid is way overrated and completely not ready for primetime, well that says more about people looking for something to excuse his awful performance than it does about me.
Pont Neuf, you win the prize for convoluted thinking.
Because people’s gut response to a distasteful performance is nagative, you say they need to “educate themselves and stop being so indecently prudish against minorities.”
Wow. Just wow.
Snowball, the performance wasn’t great, but everyone can have a bad day. Besides, Adam hit all the really difficult notes with clarity and ease. Isn’t it to be expected that he would be a little nervous presenting his single, and performing after well established singers?
Yes, the whole thing was a bit tacky, but I bet that if Justin Timberlake or Usher had been rubbing their crotches against their female dancers’ buttocks and pubis, no one would have complained. I mean, Britney Spears delivered a DISASTROUS performance at the VMAs (even for her usual awfully low standards), and it actually helped her to sell more records.
Why are people raging on Adam in this way? Cheap shock tactics and controversy have been used by countless singers to generate interest in their work, and they have even been called original and are held as beacons if incomparable artistry, a la David Bowie or George Michael.
Adam is a MUCH better singer than most. He IS comparable to Freddie Mercury and his debut album is very good. Shouldn’t we cut him a bit of slack and wait to see how he is going to develop? Everyone should be given a second opportunity. He hasn’t raped anyone, for God’s sake!
I mean, people are defending Chris Brown for beating Rihanna black and blue, but all of a sudden, a bit of homoerotic playing is repugnant and it should cause Adam’s career to be destroyed? That’s not fair AT ALL.
Maybe people are getting increasingly fed up with absolutely everything being sexualized.
It’s raunchy and debased and kids shouldn’t grow up with those images on national TV.
I know it seems “in” to bash on Britney or Madonna or Rhianna in the defence of Adam here but I must recall one incident on Britneys Onyx Hotel Tour. The song “touch of my hand” She is seen in a glass bowl like chair giving herself a Carrie Prejean. She also made out with a backup dancer who, if i remember correctly, was nearly nude save for some long hung MC hammer pants. I can find videos if you like 🙂 Yeh that tour sold out before she hurt herself and cancled it.
Michael Jackson – Rest his Soul, grabbed his own crotch decades ago so the crotch grabbing scene neednt be a big deal.
Madonna, Britney AND Xtina Kissed on the VMA and as was pointed out in the other thread about this, it was considered “soooo hot”. I dont see how a man kissing another man is any less of a controversy then that was.
I get the fact that it was done on ABC which is a “family” network, but as someone pointed out in the other thread, surely ABC KNEW. Dress Rehersal couldnt have been so much different then this. They are just trying to cover their own asses by placing the blame on someone else… this is all just IMO Of course.
Somehow this all seems recycled to me. Its been done before by other “singers” male and female alike. I dont understand the big deal behind this one, other then the network it was shown on. In that case ABC should be ashamed and take actions for what they showed, because deep down i believe they knew he would put on this calibre of a performance.
Just my 2 cents… again 🙂
I agree Tess, but if the performer is over 21 I don’t care. I think it’s a problem when it’s Miley Cyrus on the pole or someone who the children are supposed to idenity themselves with.
This trick is older than Madonna. Do something tacky and then shout about artistic integrity. Whatever.
Yes, some performers do that type of thing on tour – not on primetime live television. Did he learn nothing from Nipplegate?
I’ll believe he got carried away and it wasn’t all pre-planned when Nadia goes back in time and decides not to have 14 children.
I do think there’s a certain level of hypocracy… however, this kid sort of just pulled out everything in his bag of tricks all at once… if he’s REALLY interested in getting people to accept “gay” acts, then he needs to introduce the public to it slowly…
like maybe one nasty act at a time… but all of them? male on male kissing, simulated oral sex, crotch grabbing, flipping off the audience… and to top it all off, his performance kind of sucked… so really, nobody had any motivation to sit through all that crap…
That kind of makes it seem like he’s just doing all this for attention, and not for some noble cause or something the way he claims…
I am SOOOOOOOO tired of people saying that because people were disgusted by his performance that it is all due to homophobia, because that is not the case.
The difference between what Madonna and Britney and other shocking performers have done in the past, and what Adam Lambert did is this: Most of those performances were done on MTV, a pay channel that is not accessible to everyone. ABC is a free channel that is available to everyone.
The thing most offending to me: His terrible singing, his awful make-up and his stupid attempt to be something that he is not:SHOCKING and innovative.
Sorry, but I may be in the minority but I think he has as much talent as the hoosier drunks singing Karaoke at the local bars around here, in fact they tend to be more entertaining.
Adam can sing – and that’s all you need to do when you’ve got the talent. Those who are talentless try to fool us with a “performance” with sexual innuendo – perhaps we won’t notice they can’t sing and that’s why the females get away with what they do – if they didn’t we might notice they’ve got no pipes. Just sing Adam!
Well, I’m going to flog the dead horse again.
Lambert would have wowed the hell out of the AMAs (if I agree that he’s awesomely talented, which I don’t really) if he had gotten up there like, I think it was Mary Blige, and just sang the hell out of that song. Maybe put a twist on it because it was the AMAs and do it jazzy, slow it down and make sure everyone hears the lyrics. Show your vocal range.
There are actually tasteful ways to do outrageous. A sexualized song, accompanied by not much more than a raised eyebrow, a sexy look and tons of innuendo shows more of a range of talent than stuffing some leash-bound guy into your naughty bits.
Yeah Brit, I’m looking at you too. The actual difference IMO between Brit and Lambert’s shock factor is when she flails around now that she’s sober, it actually looks like a fairly intricate planned dance.
I’m not saying Lambert can’t be true to who he is as an “artist.” God, how pretentious. But this was sort of his big debut for those of us who can’t stand to watch Idol. Yeah, he got everyone talking but was it the kind of talk he really wanted?
I dunno much about this guy, but he’s got a nice head of hair. He seems to be sporting some sproingage in that bottom photo.
Please tell me thats just him stuffing socks in his crotch and NOT what is really might be!
Your probably right Viper. I keep reading that he’s gay from other posters but in that top photo he’s tongue wrassling a chick so I dunno. Maybe he’s a ac/dc. No offense to the rock gods.
Ditto to what Snowball and Firestarter are saying. I saw him on a morning show today and he said it wasn’t rehearsed, it was spontaneous. He is a liar and a coward if he can’t even own up to rehearsing this thing he called an act. He also admitted he would have sung it better if he had it to do over again, so anyone who is defending that part of his performance, you can stop now and agree with your idol. Anyhoo, there is no way this wasn’t rehearsed. Nobody that goes on a primetime, live show, unless they are extremely experienced or arrogant is going to risk the performance going wrong with spontaneous moves. I wonder what Eyes for Lies would say. Also, to paraphrase an old song “his adlibbed lines were well-rehearsed” as he is saying the same thing to everyone that interviews him. What an ass.
He is not comparable to Freddy Mercury. The performance was weak and simply an attempt to garner whatever kind of attention he could. He succeeded in that…everyone is talking about him.
Again, no one has a problem with what he did, it is where and when he did it.
It is a hell of a lot different seeing someone simulate sex and be shocking when you are at a concert and have paid for it.
No, he is not a babysitter, but he should be respectful and mindful that there are kids out there who do look up to him and other performers. If you want to do that stuff, save it for your concerts and MTV appearances, and do the tamer stuff on the major networks. Anytime anyone else has done something shocking, the networks have been fined and the performers taken to task. When it happens on MTV, it isn’t a big deal, because it is a pay channel.
No one cares what he does, and this idea of “because he is gay” is such a lame cop out. I live in the Midwest, and as I have said before, no one cares about guy/guy, girl/girl or even guy/girl/guy/girl, no one cares about who is gay.
First off, No one is comparable to Freddie Mercury. Secondly, sex sells. Even if it’s presented in the tackiest way possible.
I agree with Tess.
His performance was poor all around and wasn’t at all needed.
LastwordLinda,,,I’m really digging your posting name!!
If people were really worried about their kids, they’d turn off the TV, pull out a board game and spend time with them rather than troll the internet filing complaints. If watching the awards shows is considered “family time”, it’s the parents who have some issues, not Lambert.
I do find his comment about just interpreting the lyrics to his song very interesting. So many people will listen to songs about sex without even realizing what they’re hearing, and then suddenly they’re shocked and surprised when the song is performed and the dancing is suggestive.
I have no idea what Mr. Lambert’s song is about. The specific example I’m thinking of is a family that allowed their eight-year-old daughter to sing “My Humps” at karaoke, because the only experience they had with the song was some online Christmas card with camels in it going to see the baby Jesus.
So this eight year old girl sang that song, and they could not understand why everyone else in the place was absolutely horrified.
It’s the same thing with the Outkast song, “Hey Ya,” which appeared on the Kidz Bop albums. Nothing I’d rather hear than a group of elementary school kids saying they don’t want to meet your momma, they just want to make you come-ah.
Ah, there it is. Ask and you shall recieve. Finally a “celeb” (rolling my eyes) who does and says something he truly believes and doesn’t balk at defedning it or apologizing for it.
Now as for the uproar, I’m with others who say ABC had to know what his routine was about because they do have rehearsals. I’m sure ABC didn’t care in the begining, but now due to the major backlash they have to feign horror over it.
Personally, I think Adam is feeling himself a bit too much (no pun intended). I think he’s bought into all of his over hype and now thinks he’s rolling like Lady Gaga to where anything he does can be considered “amazing” and “artistic”.
@Snowball – excellent point. You should be the one representing him, because that was good advice you put up there. This was a major performance for him to be introduced to those who don’t know of him.
He blew it. He left a lasting impression but not the one I’m thinking he wanted.
Thank you Kevin! I also blog and write for some online sites with that name but think I might be violating Celebitchy’s policy if I name them and I love this site so don’t want to get booted off. My parents nicknamed me that when I was very young (don’t know why!!??!!) and they called me that, often, among other things. Now I try to use my powers for the good of mankind.
On second thought – The MOST SHOCKING THING about this post for me, doesn’t have anything to do with Adam. I’m more shocked at the reveal that Firestarter is from the Midwest. 😉
If someone is an ‘amazing singer’ then, logically it follows that they don’t need to add a ton load of gawdy semi porn in it, especially not on a free to air channel that may have minors watching; why should parents always have to explain something to kids because an insecure pop performer feels the need to transform a three minute segment into clothed semi- porn. It’s not about the issue of homophobia, but whether or not a show for general viewing, i.e. including children, should contain what he had.
I’m sick and tired of insecure gay men trying to shove something that’s practically pornographic in kids faces and then they say they want to be parents. You try explaining a man’s head in someone’s crotch to a kid Pont Neuf. I feel the same way about Madonna and her semi lesbo crap.
If a performer is good enough, they don’t need all that sexual rubbish. If I want to watch sex, I’ll watch pr0n.
Anyway, since when have female performers been simulating oral sex on AMA or the Grammys? This guy is trying to garner publicity. He’s a crap performer. Even a Vegas showgirl outperforms this jerk.
Lambert, we know you’re gay. Get over yourself.
Thank you firestarter, you’ve summed up what i’ve been saying and more. It actually boils my butt when people throw out any kind of card when people don’t like them, and use that as a cop out. So the same goes here for the homophobia card. I’m straight. I’ve no need to defend the fact that i’m not homophobic, but for the record, I have gay friends and am a fan of some of the work that is out there from gay focused…but the criteria for me liking it, is not whether they are gay or not. I hated Brokeback Mountain, and absolutely adored Milk. Watched a great doc on the weekend “Rise Up and Shout”, loved it. Etc.
Lambert should consider his fan base; people who watched him primarily on Idol. That includes kids and people who perhaps don’t enjoy the more “edgy” musical stuff.
And while i’ll say that I don’t necessarily dislike all that Idol has to offer, some of the people there are pretty good singers, but I can’t say I’d consider it a haven of innovative, edgy artists, with talent galore. For the sake of being open minded, I did check out some of Lambert’s current album. There is NOTHING there that was innovative, or for that matter all that catchy…..nothing i’d rush out to buy.
Throw all these gimmicks and in-your-face…”you’re a homophobe and i’m not a babysitter” crap into the mix makes an “artist” even worse in my books.
@dancingnanci: “If people were really worried about their kids, they’d turn off the TV”—-> I could not agree more! I really wish people would stop bitching and just change the channel. Put on some cartoons or an educational documentary (god forbid their kids actually learn something). People use TV as a BABYSITTER, and that’s why they get so bent out of shape by what is on it.
Caught Adam’s act on a rerun and I was very disappointed after having followed him diligently on AI (which was the first time i ever watched that show).
I was blown away by his vocals and his creativity on AI and I defended him to the end – even when my bf said he could not sing and screeched all the time. However, this performance was not good at all. His performances are usually so captivating that you feel the emotion in every word he sings and you can’t deny that he is a great singer.
I was so saddened with this song. It was dull, I don’t even know what the lyrics were and the musical arrangement didn’t entice. maybe he was nervous or was trying too hard but I just couldn’t understand where the great performer had gone.
I must say though that I thought he looked great. As far as the act itself, I think maybe the kissing the guy was the spontaneous part of it as opposed to the entire thing. It was a little overdone and, I’m with snowball here, he should have just sang his lungs out and let everyone know what he can do. Now all he will be known as is the gay guy who kissed a straight guy and simulated oral sex on national TV.
I hope he comes through this unscathed but i doubt it.
Wow Bete, way to demonstrate that for some people this is about homophobia. What does the issue of gay adoption have to do with Adam Lambert at all?
I have never heard this guys sing and really have no desire to, but he’s right, other performers (generally women) often have incredibly sexualized routines and no one says anything (male performers who grind on their female backup singers rarely get called out either). I call double standard. At the same time, I agree with the posters who point out why this was a stupid move on his part.
kerri, Im so with you… he was my fave on that one season of idol I watched… I could not recognize that same guy anywhere in that performance… and that’s the sad part of this whole thing…
I’m not a prude and I am not a homophobe. This scrutiny has nothing to do with him being gay.I really think Adam Lambert is a great singer, so what is he compensating for by “performing” like this? I like Zumanity just as someone else does, but Adam needs to clean it up a little bit. I mean itwas not a great show. It did not display him greater as an artist. I think this way about all of the little whores prancing around too. But just as this is controversial,so was madonna kissing Britney and Xtina. That was not nessesary either. I think people are so numb to vulgarity now that nothing really phases them. Like I said being a prude or bigoted has nothing to do with it. I voted for him during AI, but if he realy wants to make money as a singer he will have to make some changes and his people need to get their head out of their asses… To think this will help him get his leg up in his career is outrageous! I guess I just thought he would forcus on displaying his wonderful voice and not his other “assests”.
i didn’t see the performance and i don’t watch idol, so i have no idea if this guy can sing or not. he seems pretty packaged to me, but most newer singers really can’t sing so that’s no surprise. but i agree that he is under no obligation to be a G rated role model for anyone.
The performance was blah and boring even though he tried to throw in some shocking moments. There were always going to be some religious zealots complaining anyway but not everyone is thinking in those terms. I thought it was a bit annoying to have such a boring performance IMO and then try to throw in some shocking moments just to shock.
Oh get over yourself Adam. Flipping off an audience and simulating oral sex is never going to be ok on ABC. Sure, other performers have done just as bad, but as I recall it wasn’t on network television.
I am not straight, and I find it embarrassing that he would blame homophobia. Uh, dude, you simulated a blow job on national television. Janet Jackson didn’t get away with having a bare breast on TV…why should he not get any of the scrutiny and objections? Oh right, ’cause he’s gay. Its like that South Park where Mr. Garrison is trying really hard to get fired for being gay, and so keeps on performing more risque sex acts in full view of the public…who all look the other way and applaud it in their attempt to not be labeled homophobic. Its not homophobic to not want to see hypersexualized performances over and over and over again. Firestarter said it best!
“Maybe people are getting increasingly fed up with absolutely everything being sexualized.”
Oh and just for the record, had it been girl on guy or vice versa, or girl on girl, I would have been just as disgusted, especially with the transparent desperation. I’m no prude but seriously, do I need to see you simulating sex on stage because you’re just so in love with yourself and can’t come up with anything better?
As for the “double standard” issue, I don’t recall ANYONE saying “Oh yeah, Britney Spears simulating masturbation on stage, that’s wholesome and appropriate, let’s put it on ABC!” Many people found it distasteful and *shockers* simply opted to be adults and not attend her show. There’s a big difference here. Britney never simulated a blowjob on television.
I have totally lost all respect for Lambert. Did Whitney Houston, Alicia Keyes or Jay-Z simulate oral sex, grab crotches or kiss the opposite sex? Raunchy antics like that don’t enhance a performance. Just because it’s been done before doesn’t make it right and it has nothing to do with being gay. If Whitney had pulled infantile stunts like that I would be pissed at her too.
And what’s up with all that screaming he does. Yeah, he can do it but who wants to hear it over and over. To me, he’s already finished. He’s nothing new, nothing fresh, nothing innovative, nothing spectacular.
I guess we can say, he WAS a performer!
I think Adam was just being himself. He has done such performances before – just check his videos on Youtube from life before Idol. I didn’t care for his AMA performance but it was totally on character. I have never seen the AMAs before and didn’t this time either so I don’t know if his act was acceptable. But I saw his video on YouTube and it’s what he has been doing all these years.
TMZ just posted something about CBS airing the portion of his kiss and blurred it then showed the Brittany Madonna kiss in clear image. That is completely a double standard.
He was a dumb ass for his routine, but even if the kiss was spontaneous, it was the least offensive thing about it to me, and ABC approved the rest. Hell they kept announcing stayed tuned for the Adam Lambert performance everyone will be talking about tomorrow.
I say more power to him for doing what he did, but tone it down when appropiate, and up at other times.
And those who are outraged because your child saw it, turn off the tv and make them go to bed at a decent hour. There is a reason his performance was at 11, because children should be asleep!
P.S. after prime time the laws regarding content are less strict, it’s why we are able to have so many great shows on later.
Adam Lambert had a really beautiful rendition of mad world that garnered him a standing ovation…BY SIMON COWEL… and guess what the sole prop was in that entire performance… a chair… That was an amazing version of the song he did… I think he is new and lost and trying to make his mark in the big world of celebrities… But, I think he’ll find his way back… I hope so… I think he’s talented and what he’s doing right now is basically wasting it…
the performance was disgusting and his voice was terrible. The sad part is he is talented but I did not see any of that at the AMA’s. It was like watching Caligula.
it was just awful..beyond being a hot mess.
@Obvious, I think it was less the kiss, and more the grinding someone’s face into his crotch.
Also, I agree with part of what you’re saying, but did you never beg your parents to stay up late when you were a kid to watch whoever you happened to idolize at the time? And, parents aren’t always that up on who the kids are actually listening to, they might have thought it innocent enough if it was just some guy from American Idol. This isn’t really like the parents who take a kid along to a concert, and then complain because someone dropped an f-bomb.
Adam has amazing vocals but many new celebrities become cartoon characters in their quest to be larger than life. Their image becomes an exaggeration in lifestyle, appearance and performance. Being a bit low key and mysterious is sexy, charismatic and the true road to stardom.
Firestarter and ! – You’ve pretty much stated everything that I wanted to say. It’s nice that some people realize there are people who may have disapproved of the performance for reasons other than the fact that they are homophobic, intolerant, or prudish. Also that other artists have faced backlash for acts/items deemed to be overtly sexual. Does anyone remember the controversy surrounding Madonna in the day, or that the Barenaked Ladies were banned from playing simply because of the name of their band? And Janet Jackson and Britney (the two popular examples) faced a lot of criticism and each took a hit to their career after their ‘incident’. Why should Adam Lambert be faced with any less criticism for his act?
What he’s doing has nothing to do with homosexuality, it’s just trashy, inappropriate behavior.
There’s a time and a place for everything.
I agree with loldongs. Pont Neuf, you are insane and must be very young: “People need to educate themselves and stop being so indecently prudish against minorities.”
Wow. People need to educate themselves and stop being so indecent period!! And the flipping a bird at the camera – yeah, that’s classy. 🙄 And I actually used to be a defender for the guy because he was gay and I thought people might be phobing on him!
So, Pont Neuf, don’t phobe against people who hate seeing sleaze. Not art, SLEAZE and cheapness and bratty immaturity.
Look around you, people don’t all prefer to be seeing porn on tv all the damn time.
Another clown trying to cover up their lack of talent with an over-the-top stage show.
He’ll be the Spencer Pratt of the music world soon enough. Can’t stand this overrated fool.
i’m completely on adams side with this whole situation. but i think it’s time to drop it. it happened. it was a little awkward, but it happened and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. accept that and move on. he doesn’t feel the need to apologize, so just shut your pop tart hole and get over it.
i don’t think that he should have to apologize to a homophobic public. The women that perform on these award shows have done the same thing if not more provocative routines and most of the times are damn near naked while doing them. Britney and Madonna can kiss but he can’t smooch his dancer? It’s the same damn thing and all the women got was applause. I say kudos to him for kicking the double standard to the curb.
He’s gross. Next…
I heard that Adam Lambert was a cast on the broadway musical Wicked.
Thanks for the post. I’m really a big fan of Wicked the Musical. I’ve seen the musical about ten times.
My favorite character is Elphaba. I like the fact that you can see another side of the story. My favorite part of the musical is when Elphaba flies on her broom stick.
I go here to purchase Wicked Merchandise
You may not be a babysitter, but adults were offended as well! I think you set the “gay movement” back 20 years. Why can’t you be different and NOT follow the “straight lead”? You don’t need to simulate sex acts to prove what a good singer you are. It was just plain wrong, any way that you look at it. If you had done that at one of your live shows, ok, fine, but on national T.V….???? Disgusting. Grow up! And by the way, go to confession!
