‘Euphoria’ star Angus Cloud has passed away at the age of 25

Angus Cloud has passed away at the age of 25. He passed away at his family’s home in Oakland, and TMZ makes it sound like his mother was the one to find him. He had recently returned from Ireland, where he and his family had laid his father to rest. He reportedly took his father’s death badly and he was being swallowed by grief. The actor was best known for playing Fezco on Euphoria and he was extremely popular with the Euphoria cast and around Young Hollywood.

The cast of Euphoria is in mourning after the shocking death of Angus Cloud, one of the HBO show’s most beloved young stars. Cloud, who portrayed Fezco aka “Fez” on the drama series, died on Monday, his family confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.

“Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” Cloud’s family said, in part. “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

This is unbelievably sad. So young, so popular, just on the verge of a major career breakout. Our thoughts and prayers to the family and all of his friends.

So sad to lose one so young, and so soon after the death of his father. My heart goes out to his mother, I can’t imagine what she’s going through.

    • PrincessOfWaffles says:

I cannot imagine her grief and despair right now. All my prayers to her. Did he gave ciblings?

      • ME says:

It’s reported he has two younger sisters. They just lost the two men in their family. When I lost my dad, it felt like I had lost my protector. It’s a feeling only those who have gone through it understand. It’s lonely, it’s scary, and you do have feelings as if you can’t go on, don’t want to go on. It’s a dark time. I feel for Angus. He probably couldn’t imagine a life without his dad…someone he talked to/saw every single day. My heart goes out to his mom and sisters.

I’m so sad about this. I didn’t love Euphoria but loved watching him. He really lit up the screen, so charismatic and natural. I was looking forward to following his career. His dad must have been quite young too. Devastating all around.

    • Kitten says:

He had that unique quality that just mesmerized you. So much screen presence and raw talent. I was really looking forward to seeing where his career took him. This is immensely sad.

      • Sobiewski says:

I haven’t watched euphoria since season 1 but he stood out to me. The first thing that struck me about him was that he had an uncanny resemblance to Mac Miller. I was like, ‘literally that could be his brother. How crazy that they look alike.’ And then when this just came out, I got a macabre shiver up my spine. It appears they have died in a similiar way too which is also strangely coincidental. R.I.P. sweet angel Angus.

    So sad. RIP

  4. Lucy2 says:

That is so sad. His poor mother.

  5. FHMom says:

I don’t care for Euphoria, but he was a stand out on the show. This is sad news

  6. Eleonor says:

    Really sad…rip.

  7. Kirsten says:

This is so very sad. He was a wonderful actor and so good on Euphoria; his character was the one I was looking forward to seeing more from the most. Rest In Peace, Angus.

  8. LisaT says:

He now has the peace that evaded him in life. I can’t imagine the grief of his mother. This reminds me of Lee Alexander McQueen death within days of his mother’s passing.

  9. Bettyrose says:

This one really hurts. He was so talented and had such a promising future. This is River Phoenix/Heath Ledger level of tragic loss to the entertainment world.

  10. Concern Fae says:

Apparently his father, who he was very close with, died last week. So tragic.

  11. TeamMeg says:

Why is it still taboo to say the word suicide? I wish we could lift the stigma on acknowledging when people take their own lives, and discuss openly. Same for Sinead. Why is it not mentioned? Speaking here as someone touched very closely by a suicide. I may be triggered whenever I see a hanged person on TV or in a movie, but I don’t think that image should be banned, either. I will be processing my experience for the rest of my life, and that is okay. It’s my journey. No shame.

    • Kirsten says:

His family hasn’t released a cause of death yet, and whatever that is, it should be up to them to do so in their own time.

Very sorry for your own loss.

    • Enis says:

Research shows that when suicide is reported on the news, it leads to an increase in suicides.

      • TeamMeg says:

@Enis That is interesting. So the implication seems to be: if we don’t mention it, it will happen less. Perhaps that is true. But what if we mentioned it, and then talked about it? Had speakers on to follow up, therapists, support givers, and mental health carers? Suicidal ideation is a dark and lonely headspace. Why not offer hope, a path out of the shadows and back into the light?

    • butterflystella says:

Agree as someone who has also been touched personally by it (2 family members, dad & half brother) and we say they died by suicide.

  12. Lucía says:

Even if he was not the main lead of the show, Angus was the soul and beating heart of Euphoria. No previous acting experiences but could say so much with his eyes. His character had such a lovely, sibling-like dynamic with Zendaya’s. Everyone loved him. And it was just the beginning of his career. I hope he’s finally found his peace.

    • Bettyrose says:

The episode when Rue verbally abuses him because he won’t give her drugs and then later apologizes, when he says something like “You’re a drug addict, Rue. I don’t pay attention to what addicts say.” It broke my heart even then. His character is so complex, he’s a dealer who profits off teen addiction, but he also has a code of ethics and truly cares for Rue. Angus plays the role so well. No spoilers for anyone who may now just discover Euphoria, but the character is explored much more deeply in season 2.

  13. Enis says:

This happened in my family. Less than a week after my grandfather died, my uncle died of an overdose. It devastated my family, and 20 years later, we are still not the same.

    • Bettyrose says:

Enis, I’m so sorry for your loss and family’s pain. These stories remind me that there’s only a thin line between others who’ve succumbed to the pain and myself. Neither drug addiction nor depression are character flaws and we need to stop stigmatizing them. I know Euphoria is hard for a lot of people to watch because it’s too raw, but it does portray the complexity of addiction. Rue is an addict because doctors regularly prescribe drugs rather than treat mental illness, and then she’s expected to overcome addiction as a teenager, something grown adults struggle with.

      • Nicegirl says:

@Bettyrose 💕 + air hugs 🤗 you are not alone BR 💗 so glad you are still here w us

I’m hugging you with my heart, lovers of dear ❤️ Angus. ❤️ Gone too soon, loved forever

  14. Becky Mae says:

Sam Lufti (yes, THAT Sam Lufti) took over as his manager in April….funny how this guy weasles his way into the lives of young, mentally delicate people….

Angus had a long history of addiction…. it’s a sad, sad story.

    So tragic! My condolences.
The stand by me.. He was mostly being himself on Euphoria. I know it might feel in bad taste but I wanted my Lexi storyline..
