Long-time Sussex watchers will sometimes disagree about one thing: Meghan’s love of brown and beige. Specifically, we’re disagreeing about the colors Meghan wears and whether her baseline aesthetic favors neutrals and “sad beiges,” or whether she’s making a conscious choice to wear neutrals so she won’t stand out. Meghan claimed, in the Netflix docuseries, that when she lived in the UK, she tried not to stand out, which meant that she wore beige a lot. But we also know that most of those pieces were already in her wardrobe, and that she continues to wear a lot of f–king beige and brown years after she moved back to America. My point? I think she just likes to wear brown, you guys. It’s not some high-level fashion statement: the woman just loves a Sad Beige.
I was reminded of this today, as Meghan and Harry stepped out for Invictus Games events in Dusseldorf. After favoring a color palette of black-and-white for her first appearances at the games, Meghan is back to brown today. Fashion IDs: Meghan wore a L’Agence Dani blouse, Gabriela Hearst trousers and MiuMiu sunglasses. She looks great and autumnal! But yeah, she genuinely loves brown and beige.
Apparently, Meghan and Harry were not only attending Invictus competitions today, they also had meetings with NATO officials and they did some kind of BetterUp event too.

I don’t mind the look, but it’s bothering me that the pants look so wrinkled😅
If it means that the underlying message is, “only the veterans matter”, then I embrace every unwanted pleat.
I really don’t believe this escaped Meghan’s attention at all: she must have taken a good look at herself in the mirror before exiting her hotel room, and I assume every good hotel can provide an iron on demand.
My take is that she refused to appear perfect when celebrating the bravery of people who have been maimed?
Someone mentioned downthread that it’s probably because of the pants material which creases easily especially when in the same position for awhile (guessing they had a roundtable of some sort prior to this). It really isn’t that deep.
@Sugarhere, I think you’re reaching into another dimension. It’s not that deep– her pants are just wrinkled. That material wrinkles very easily.
The material could be Linen, which would wrinkle even if you just looked at it 😅
Sugarhere, I agree. Meghan is very intentional and she often wears fabrics that wrinkle easily. To me, it’s a message about authenticity and not always trying to look perfect. And it challenges me because my knee jetk reaction is to cringe. But I like that challenge.
The Sussexes met with NATO officials HURRAY 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
I think Meghan is definitely circumspect about her clothing choices (eg with regard to representation, audience, venue etc), and, consequently, I wonder if she is a proponent of sustainable fashion, including fabrics like wrinkly linen. I think she may prefer wrinkles over those fabrics which impact the environment adversely through “consumption of water, microplastic pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, soil degradation, rainforest destruction & …landfill waste….”

Bravo. Seconding @sugarhere
@Anna: for me it’s the hem😬. She’s got to cut a few inches off. They aren’t supposed to be dragging on the floor.
Other than that the look is perfection. It’s definitely going on my pinterest board for office wear.
@sugarhere: i don’t think the wrinkled trousers have some higher underlying message. I just think they might have gotten a bit wrinkled in the car and due to walking.
@Chloe, Agree, I know it’s a popular look to wear longer pants, and she was rocking that at last year’s IG too, but I’m personally not a fan. Besides those two things though, the look is sleek and put together and she looks fantastic.
Good grief, these people can’t wait for her to steam the wrinkles out of her pants to take a frigging picture. Just let her live for shite’s sake.
Wrinkly trousers aren’t an end-all, but they distract from a really impactful and prominent image. The lady slightly to the left is also wearing loose trousers, and there’s not a single wrinkle on them. You can pick fabrics that don’t crease so easily and prominently. I don’t understand this narrative that when she lived in the UK, she wore nothing but neutrals so she wouldn’t stand out. She wore loads more colour than she does now. I really liked her in her green/blue/navy outfits and dresses; I wish she’d do more of those.
“Wrinkly trousers aren’t an end-all, but they distract from a really impactful and prominent image.”
Er……..no they dont.
And why do some folks find it necessary to lie so blatantly and carelessly. M never said ‘when she lived in the UK, she wore nothing but neutrals so she wouldn’t stand out.’ She actually said blah blah blah…….”I RARELY wore colour.’ And then she went on to explain the reason she didnt; and then she also mentioned the times she sometimes did wear color
BIG difference.
Disappointed in so many of the comments, here. While they’re pointing at the horizon (Invictus), some are still staring at the finger (trousers are wrinkled).
I do think Meghan meant, she often wore neutrals so as not to stand out, particularly when in the company of other royals (especially TQ), probably also at some events she and Harry did where she knew they’d already get front page coverage. But she did wear color at other times. I think navy and olive are neutrals, but I remember things like, her two separates outfits with the leather skirts – emerald and burgundy – and didn’t she wear a lovely yellow dress at some event?
That she was holding herself back fashion wise during that time was clear by her clothes during the Coulda Had a Bad Bitch Tour. Those red/blue/green dresses were spectacular, in your face choices that almost seemed out of place for the Meghan we’d been seeing, but boy did she serve what they deserved.
Is she supposed to carry a steamer with her? It’s called real life. I’m sure they were pressed when she left the hotel.
My comment disappeared! Damn phone.
What I think is we all notice wrinkly pants because Peg is always wearing them. Hence we’re super attentive to wrinkly pants because we associate them with Peg (not because we’re mad at Meghan 😉)
I love the way that linen wrinkles. it’s supposed to.
Meanwhile, William is furiously on the phone screaming at…someone to get him a meeting with NATO immediately, lmao
Regarding the pants, it seems to me that these are not new. Meghan probably had these in her wardrobe when she was carrying more weight post her third pregnancy. So, maybe these pants were altered a bit, but she seems to have shed a lot of weight, even in recent months. Thus, the fit is rather baggy, in addition to wrinkled, perhaps due to the type of fabric? Meg is giving us casual and laid back at the moment. Her focus seems to be on not standing out so much here, in order to keep the focus on Invictus, on the athletes, and on Harry.
Understandably, many of her fans are looking for glam Meghan, which we haven’t had since the gold dress at the New York awards event in May (and the fun silver attire at the recent Beyoncé concert). We may not get a lot of glam Meghan at this Invictus Games. I don’t think being overly glam has ever been Meg’s focus when she attends Invictus. It just seems that she’s even more trying to not stand out too much this time regarding what she wears.
At 2022 Invictus, Meg had a lot of fun, pulled together looks with high-end designer labels mixed in, yet still laid back and casual. Here, her looks seem even more casual and low-key (busy Mom mode accessible looks). She is not wearing overly expensive designer attire. It will be interesting to see if Meg will step it up a bit for the closing ceremonies.
That was my first thought too! Are they linen?
I only wear natural fabrics, cotton and linen and they wrinkle whether you iron them or not.
Whatever color choices this beautiful woman makes, she always wear the color, it does not wear her. She looks amazing and very happy to be at the games. Noticed from later photos for today, she changed into a white ensemble.
For those who don’t like “sad beige,” perhaps try calling it camel or khaki? Camel/khaki, black, and white are THE three primary neutral colors. Add in some gray (aka light black) and navy/denim, and there’s your entire neutral palette. Anything else is an accent color, and really pops on the neutral base. I learned this color code from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in the 1990’s, and Angelina Jolie after her. Meghan has followed suit (pun intended!) and she looks amazing every time!
Agree. This seems more camel, brown, bronze than beige.
Nah, @TeamMeg. Some people prefer to follow the lead of the Daily Fail by calling that color “sad” and have that live on instead.
Team Meg for sure if they are your colours.. All of those sans blue make me look like death. My personal colour palette is warm /bright so my ‘neutrals’ are warm, bright colours and I accent with black (never on top though), cream (absolutely never white ugh hate it and it looks terrible) maybe a splash of warm browns. Meghan knows her colours and wears them well. But I really dislike those pants (not about wrinkles, that’s just what natural fibres do). Shirt is gorgeous. For me the pants are a rare miss.
ITA. I really dislike those pants on principle (and they’d look frumpy AF on me) but Meghan wears them well, and my feeling about Meghan’s fashions are same as with any accomplished woman: it’s fun when she rocks an amazing look, but she’s not a fashion model and that’s not what I read about her for.
^^ Yeah, I agree @BettyRose. Meghan is her own woman. She’s comfortable in her skin, and she makes choices that she feels are right for her and that will work for each occasion. She’s not a high-maintenance fashionista. When she wears linen, she’s not going to fuss herself about the wrinkles. As someone said earlier, no matter what, it’s always Meg wearing the clothes. And she makes whatever she wears work for her. She manages to pull it off, even with others being critical of this and that.
In general, Meghan often wears baggy trousers, though I do think she’s shed quite a bit of weight since her last pregnancy. She’s back to her younger weight, but she’s now at a very different stage in her life in which she’s juggling a lot and seemingly trying to find the right balance. She probably wanted a low key casual, yet professional look to meet with NATO officials today. It’s also always been part of her style to stick with neutrals and tone-on-tone, so nothing new in that respect. It’s just that so far, she seems to be dressing even more low key than usual.
The white street-style shorts with blazer was a fun, youthful look the other day, so she’s mixing it up a little, but still with muted colors. As I said, these low-key looks in muted colors, so far in Düsseldorf, were likely purposely chosen by Meg in order to keep the focus away from herself.
The pants are SWALLOWING her. And terrible fabric – way too creased.
Yep, I’m fine with the colour scheme but the length and the wrinkles bother me a lot. This is what gets me with designer clothes, at the prices they go for I’d expect something that would look spot on 100% on the time. The Zara version of these would look pretty much the same I imagine.
Even extremely expensive linen wrinkles, so I don’t think it’s a matter of price. It just seems like Meghan chooses comfort over perfection, and would prefer to use her time differently?
Kate would happily keep a roomful of dignitaries waiting for a half an hour while someone steamed every wrinkled out of her clothes, and Meghan clearly would not.
I guess people here are speaking about their own personal preferences, which is fine. Not everything Meghan wears works for everyone. Plus, none of us will agree with every choice she makes for herself. But, the point is, she makes her own choices for herself, not for fans. Thus, I personally don’t see any need for observers to be ‘bothered’ by wrinkles in Meg’s linen pants. It’s not the first time she’s been seen in something wrinkly or over-sized for her frame. Still, whatever Meg wears tends to work for her in each moment, outside of several occasions I can recall. And even at those times, it was Meg who stood out and shined, more than what she was wearing.
@Lorelei: “It just seems like Meghan chooses comfort over perfection, and would prefer to use her time differently?”
Bingo! I think you are exactly right in this assessment. 🎯 💯
Yes I saw that picture of the beige she was wearing today and wondered who they were meeting. So they are meeting some NATO representatives. Count down to Peg trying to meet NATO representatives….. Heads are surly exploding over on salt isle🤯🤯🤯.
She looks gorgeous and Harry looks hot. It seems that there is a golden tint to the brown? I wish my girl had a hand held steamer for those darn wrinkles. Regardless the Sussexes continue to kill it.
the pants are probably linen. I’m absolutely sure she has a steamer. some fabrics just crease as soon as you sit down. I think she looks great.
Yea Linen which is a great natural fabric will always be wrinkly even if you iron it.
I actually think these colors work better for her than pastels or jewel tones. Girl is an autumn imo.
I’m Asian, have dark hair and a very different skin tone, and am a definite winter. These colors would wash me out but she looks radient in them.
Jeebus Chrsitus now ive heard it all. M must walk around with a hand-held steamer so that randoms on the internet dont hv to look at a few wrinkles in clothing which she’s had on and worn to a couple of meetings in, perhaps even had breakfast in, while said randoms were still asleep.
Indeed, it’s linen and will wrinkle.
I like that Meghan wears what she likes, like Rihanna wears what she likes. Women should wear whatever fabric/outfit they feel comfortable wearing. Everyone has their own preferences. Meghan seems to always look comfortable with her choices and I love that about her. She’s true to herself. She’s not restricted by palace courtiers anymore. I’m so happy to see her happy and free to make her own choices. Go Meghan, miss independent!!!
She’s not a fairytale character or a deity. She’s human and should be free to express her free will. Varying opinions on fashion is healthy as long as it’s about representing one’s individual choice for oneself and not defining what Meghan should or should not do/wear.
@Kingston, I love you and thank you for always writing the comments I am thinking! It saves me so much time. I still roll my eyes at the needless nit-picking, but I know if I refresh the page, you have saved me from the effort of bringing my eyes back to face the screen and typing at the same time.
@MSTJ
Succinct and precise. May I add that personal style always trumps the whims of fashion in the face of self-knowledge…….
I am a strong advocate for personal style, as one moves from the conformity to maturation.
Alright comment cop, you need to chill. It’s just a suggestion. I would have a hand steamer just because I would want my trousers to look smoother for photos. That’s just ME. Unclench.
@Kingston: you made me laugh out loud. 😆🤣
Exactly!
Digression, but I really really really want to wear linen more. Better for hot climates. But I have been worried about the wrinkles. So….if Meghan goes for it, I can check myself about looking “perfect.”
Lol!
Kingston – Thank you for saying it! High profile woman wears natural fiber (linen? silk?) pants that wrinkle, thereby easing the perfectly pressed burden on all other women and they cavil about it. Dumb!
Kingston, your comment is EXACTLY perfect. Thank you.
She used Jessica Mulroney as a stylist for a while at least and my God, Jessica’s style is…baffling to me. Anyway, my point is I think Meghan generally has a good eye but isn’t actually all that up on the nitty gritty of fit, fabrics, etc.
the jessica mulroney claim wasn’t true. meghan said in the DM case she styled herself. daniel martin also said she never had a stylist and he worked with her since 2011.
I love her monochrome looks. I too like my beige, brown and neutrals Meghan!
I love the monochrome trend, it’s so easy to look chic and put together. I hope we’ll see her in other colours though. Much as she is clearly a sad beige girlie, I still think about the green skirt and blouse combo she wore as a working royal
i love her monochrome looks too. I love how she switches the material to keep it interesting – so monochrome but not boring. I love this look.
Me, too. Love it!
I love the look, love the colors, don’t mind the pants length. The weight of the pants are great —except for how they wrinkle/crease. Some of my favorite, flowy pants crease if I sit and stand enough, so I feel her pain there!
This is why everyone was freaking out. They knew this nato appearance was coming up. Now it makes sense. Plus, william wanted to ride harrys press wave.
This is why chuck is in the house. He is mourning his mom AND his younger son is representing him this week. Haha. Cause you know chuck has to be thinking of a way to get in on this.
I’d say her blouse is copper-colored and I love it. And we know that Meghan loves her linen despite knowing it’s going to photograph as all wrinkled.
@Harper, yes agree, copper or bronze coloured blouse. And a gorgeous, vibrant colour.
Those pants are dreadful. The fit style and fabrics are awful. I wouldn’t wear them in public.
I like this in theory. In reality-the pants are way too long and a big wrinkly mess.
Agree 100%. Poorly hemmed pants give me the yips. On red carpets, it’s usually due to the pants being borrowed, and lazy stylists not pinning them up. I will argue all day that the bottom of your pants should NOT drag on the ground, it makes you look unkempt.
I know the look is currently “in”, but whenever I see super-long pants with flares wide enough to envelop the shoes, I can’t help but think of like, JNCOs for grown-ups.
That happens when you seat down with clothes. They get wrinkle due to the fabric. She looks great to me. I love linen and I wear them knowing that I would be looking like a mess in 5 minutes. LOL
Exactly. I find people’s preoccupation with clothes winkling weird and obsessive.
@Amy Bee agreed. Unless you are a mannequin and never move clothes will wrinkle. It’s such a weird thing to be obsessive over.
Agreed! It happens, its not that big a deal.
@Chantale…..thank you!
These trumped-up fabric experts were prolly all snuggled and snoring, deep in REM sleep by the time these pics were taken, by which time H&M were already up and about, had breakfast, had private meetings with NATO officials; had meetings with Better-Up, etc., etc., etc.
So, um…yes. Linen or otherr natural fabric clothing would show some wrinkles by the end of all that.
I just find it mighty weird, these trumped-up designers, stylists, fabric specialists and seamstresses that are always ready to chime in. To be honest, I’m always fascinated, in general, by the subject matter-experts that always crop up on threads on this site. No matter the topic or featured subject, you can bet your bottom dollar that therell be numerous anonymous, random posters on CB offering their “expertise” on said subject. lmfao So convenient.
Then lets not forget the ones who use their own, little parochial experiences to opine on what a global figure should or shouldnt do in particular situations.
If I larf I die.
@AmyBee my bestie will iron my clothes before we leave the room when we travel together. She’s a bit OCD and apparently it really bothers her!
I only iron when I am bringing out my summer linens from being stored in suitcases.
On a different note, I adore seeing Meghan in colors! Not brown so much, but she doesn’t need my approval. 🤣
I’m wearing a shirt dress in honor of Meghan today… She and Harry just looks
so darn happy, it makes her look gorgeous in anything she wears.
From the waist up she looked great. Those pants are too long, too wrinkled, too pleated, too wide. The color of the shirt, and fabric are great. Warm and while a shade of brown not khaki. I love her different looks and hairstyles this week though. She looks like her with personality. She does love a neutral in general.
Sad about the wrinkles on Meghan’s pants but it must be some sort of linen for that to happen. Overall she looks great. The big message is the Sussexes are rubbing shoulders with NATO leaders. That has to kill the BRF and the UK government.
Did Will and Kate do any events today? Or are the poor sausages too tired?
I also wear a ton of neutrals because it’s easy and classic and think Meg looks fantastic, albeit a bit wrinkled.
But I do think her looks are calculated – she wears neutrals to blend in as the point is to highlight invictus and the athletes, not herself. The only time I can remember her wearing color to invictus was a maroon outfit during closing ceremonies – in the evening – when I believe they weren’t engaged yet. Even as a “royal girlfriend” attending she was in neutrals.
The fact that she and Harry shine even while in neutrals is testament to their natural character, something that cannot be bought.
KASalvy I agree. While she may love neutrals I believe her choices not to wear her “coulda had a bitch” colors of emerald, sapphire and ruby are because she doesn’t want to be the focus of any pictures. And not be an easy target in a crowd. I think she is very mindful of competitors and families first, Harry second, dignitaries third and then she is there to support.
Meghan wore that bright red pantsuit when she was receiving an award. So yeah I can see it being intentional.
Meghan looks fabulous as usual. She can wear any colour she wants now.
Co-signed….
Confidence is the best look….
The two things can be true at the same time – she chose to mostly wear muted colors to not stand out and maybe she likes beige and browns – instead of being mutually exclusive.
She never said she favors beige and browns; that’s an opinion formed based on external observations of some of her clothing choices. She did however say, she chose to mostly wear muted colors to not stand out and overshadow certain royals. I believe her. ✅
Some people wear shockingly bright colors to solemn spaces for attention but Meghan is not that kind of person. This is an event for wounded veterans, of course she’s not going to wear colors that have her stand out.
👍👍
I think Meghan is concerned most with how her clothes wear and feel, and not so much how she looks in them. I find that refreshing, when so many people are trying for instagram perfect looks. Her clothes look like she lives in them, the way they would look on any body. Linen wrinkles, but it’s cool and comfortable to wear. Yes she wants to look good in her clothes, but not at the expense of being able to exist in them. How many times have we seen famous women out and about in clothes that seem impossible to wear, no matter how good they look. Leave the “maniquin in clothes” look for Wife of Cain, Unable.
Yeah. She knows the pants are going to wrinkle due to the fabric and she’s good with that. I’m a sucker for high-waisted pleated pants. As in, I love them. It makes me think of Katherine Hepburn. Now, not all of us look like Katherine hepburn when we wear them but so what. You don’t wear these pants to look super thin necessarily in that they add bulk. And again so what. I will say that the length in the grass was not ideal but oh well.
OMG. The pants are wrinkled because she was SITTING most of the day and they are linen. Linen wrinkles. As does MOST clothing when you sit. Anyone who wear linen regularly knows, understands, and accepts this. I wear linen all the time in the summer because it’a a fantastic fabric that breathes but also isn’t too thin. As for the length of the pants – that’s literally how they cut folks. They are meant to be super high waisted and super long and hit the floor. They are Gabriela Hearst and they looked exactly the same on the model. Has nothing to do with her not “understanding fabric or fit”
Just because that’s the cut and they’re a recognized “style” doesn’t mean it’s a good style! IMO super wide pants that drag on the floor look bad on almost everybody, including Meghan. Don’t have an issue with pleats or high waists in and of themselves, and if she’s okay with the natural wrinkles of something like linen, that’s fine, but whatever profile is supposed to be achieved by this super long, wide style is negated because your eye is just drawn to the chunk of fabric pooling on the floor.
LOL. Style is relative. You don’t like them – she does. Simple as that. I personally own quite a few pairs of pants cut like this. Because I like the style. PS – this style of pant has existed since the 1940s btw. It’s classic. It’s why I like it and I’m sure it’s why she likes it.
Hmm, not convinced the wide at the bottom dragging on the floor style – what I specifically dislike – goes back that far, but variations of high waisted, overall wide legs, pleats, for sure, they’ve come and gone over the years for women (and I believe go back to the 20’s for men). The woman standing to Meghan’s left in the group picture has very similar pants in white, and is an example of what I think would work better for most women (including me!); they could even be just a hair longer. I think the relative proportions are more flattering than Meghan’s style choice.
I wasnt trying to convince you of anything lol. Style is relative. That’s a fact. The styles is classic. Also a fact. Meghan likes the style. Also a fact. Everything else is merely opinion. And we are all entitled to our own. They simply aren’t facts.
I don’t love the wrinkles or tailoring on the pants BUT it’s still a 100% appropriate outfit for the occasion. If only Kate could copy the “consistently appropriate” part of Meghan’s style.
This is a rare miss for Meghan IMO. The color of the shirt looks good on her, but the shirt is ill-fitting, way too big and as a result draped crookedly. And the pants, my GOD they are awful, “granny goes to the sunroom to watch tv with the other residents in her best pleated pants.” She needs to take them out back and burn them when she gets home.
love the blouse. i actually think that caramel is very flattering color for her and not sad beige. those pants are def sad sad sad beige…hate it. the color, material, length…all a miss. the proportions look off bc it makes her look bottom heavy especially at the ankles; the wrinkling draws the look to the crotch area. it also just doesn’t look polished/professional? especially for a photo op with NATO members. linen is hard material for sure, but there are ways to make it not wrinkle so horribly with sprays and starch in those areas.
Ooooh…I don’t know, you guys. I like the idea of this ensemble better than the execution. I feel like khaki (or just khaki-colored) pants should never be that high-waisted, because even when worn by a stunning woman with a lovely figure, it tends to come across as “grandpa hiking his pants up to his nipples”. The wrinkles only add to that vibe. Lower that waistline by just a couple inches and give them a steam (or just change the fabric to a crisp poplin or something similar), and it’d look great.
It’s not one of her better looks, but she’s still gorgeous. I’m more interested in the fact that she and Harry met with NATO officials. Who’s the global statesman, now, Willy? All the celebitches living in the UK, do let us know if there’s a mushroom cloud over Kensington Palace. If anything was going to give the Wails coronaries, this would be it.
Exactly. I adore Meghan and love both the coloring and style. And was excited to see her. I am tall and I have similar pantsuits which are close to dragging the floor. When I stand still they drag when I walk they appear to drag. What was most important to me was their meeting the NATO representatives and the support NATO shows for Invictus
My first thought ‘God I hate how my pants always end up wrinkled like that, especially the ones that don’t fit well and wrinkle like that when I’m walking’
What one gets from linen is durability and comfort……
Why wear what looks good on camera but does nothing for comfort?
I guess that Meghan, like most smart people dresses for herself, although
she maybe flattered that many people admire her look.
I love 75% of what Meghan wears but never her beige looks. It’s a terrible color beige. There are gorgeous shades of brown. She just never wears them. And consistently her sad beige outfits never fit right.
She’s gorgeous as always and this look is a rare miss for her. Pants are awful and the blouse reminds me of the cheap silk/satin knockoffs we wore in the 80s. I know the the long flowy pants are the look these days but I think only the super tall can carry them off well.
Clothes wrinkle people, she’s not a mannequin. That said, are these the same pants she wore on her trip to NY? That monochromatic look was perfection!
The petty part of me hopes she wore this on purpose..like she noticed what her SWF stalker tried to do with the white suit and is daring her to copykeen this as well. 🤭
Couldnt be the same clothes from the NY trip 2 years ago. At that time she was still slowly and carefully losing her baby weight so those clothes would be much too big for her now.
Kingston, I was right! The pants are a rewear. She probably had them adjusted at the waist.
She wore the pants to her trip to Manchester last year to attend the One Young World event.
She also wore them in NY with the caramel colored coat (with the same shoes too).
The obsession with wrinkles on this site is hilarious. The entire (and most important) message that the Sussexes met with NATO officials is entirely lost in the unnecessary noise about wrinkled linen pants🙄🙄. I understand this is celebitchy and we discuss fashion but still………
Of course Meghan’s pants are wrinkled, she’s working. She’s not there to do a lazy photo op.
Thank you, @Mslove

I know everyone who posts on CB does so according to their own interests and, as a gossip site, much of the threads invite posters to critique the subject. I:e many gossip sites and gossipers believe that ‘gossip’ equals ‘negative criticism.’
It doesnt.
When it comes to female celebrities as the subject of threads, most folks focus solely on what theyre wearing. (Im not terribly interested in fashion & styles…..just whether I believe a
particular outfit looks great or not on the wearer. And thats based strictly on my personal taste. So I dont impose it on anyone or in tiresome posts.
There are some celebrities who offer nothing BUT their clothes, notwithstanding their huge platform and the good theyre NOT using it for [cough-kkkHATE-cough].
But when it comes to women like Meghan and Angelina……my 2 most favorite global female figures, I find it so annoying to read the comments and find so many posters critiquing their outfits negatively. Its so boring and tiresome. Especially when these women are NEVER featured primarily because of what theyre wearing, but for what they DID and, just tangentially, what they wore when they did it.
This is why I NEVER comment on any threads featuring kkkHATE based on an “engagement” because in truth, its only really about what she wore. That biish doesnt exist for me. EXCEPT if the britshidtmedia uses her to try to diss M. Then of course, my bitchslapping expertise will jump out.
Something that I appreciate about Meghan that is relatable for me is that she seems okay being imperfect (doesn’t hide her freckles, wears what she likes). She seems to love linen and wears it regardless of how easily it wrinkles. Meanwhile she moves around quite happy (all smiles) with her choices. 👍
Not everyone will appreciate everything she does or how well it meets their expectations but that’s ok. We’re all human and have different tastes and make different choices.
It’s actually heartening to see others here with different POV on her outfit choice. That’s healthy. She’s human, not a fairy tale character or deity to be idolized. 👍
I love her outfit and would wear it in a heartbeat, but the Virgo in me wants those pant legs off the ground.
FYI, meeting with NATO officials is huge. I’m so impressed by and happy for the Sussex’s.
What strikes me is not her pants, but NATO. Frikkin’ NATO. This is what the RF is missing out on with their petty resentment of Harry. What good is soft diplomacy if they can’t muster up a single message in support of their veterans?
Ben Wallace from the UK DOD wanted the head of NATO role but did not get the support of the US and EU for the role. The current head of NATO has been asked to stay on for a little longer in his role. UK is a mess at home and seems to not be highly regarded internationally at the moment.
Yes, that’s my point. The RF aren’t there just to attract tourists (if they even do that) – they represent all the interests of the UK. Elizabeth hosted the G7 summit, for example. They should be networking on behalf of the UK in every way possible, not just to promote private projects. Maybe it’s that Charles isn’t prepared to manage that, maybe it’s the laziness and stupidity of W&K, I don’t know. But it’s not a good thing to be ignoring your own people when they’re on the international stage. The RF wants good publicity, but they’re not doing anything achieve it – so, the only publicity they get is their squabbles in the tabloids.
After Brexit, they’re (UK) not a major player on the international. After the late Queen passed, they’re not as influential in the commonwealth either. The wounds are self inflicted.
Their little do-nothing PM got hammered in parliament the other day by an Opposition member, who asked him whether or not the UK had been invited to be part of the big, new, ground-breaking India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor, a partnership of 7 countries, including the US and the EU but EXCLUDING the UK!
The member asked whether the UK had been deliberately excluded, or whether it had been invited and chose not to be part of this big economic opportunity.
Of course you know the answer to that. So yeah, H being such a global figure, having the ears of the major movers and shakers of the world, you just KNOW that the UK govt (and, of course, its puppetmasters, the shidtmedia) are pressuring the leftover grifters in palaces to “DO SOMETHING” to mend the ‘rift’ with the Sussexes.
LMFAO
Eurydice, ITA. I’m horrified that they couldn’t be bothered to say anything in support of their services members/veterans involved in Invictus last year and AGAIN this year.
This is a Michelle Obama fit, but Michelle is tall enough and curvy enough to pull it off and likely wouldn’t choose a pant that wrinkles so easily. I genuinely don’t understand spending so much money on trousers like this that just end up looking a mess after the slightest of movements.
But I love the colors together and Meghan really just glows. But Gabriela Hearst won’t be getting any of my money 😂
Lemons, if you’ve ever worn linen when it’s warm, you would understand why so many people do. It’s a very comfortable fabric. There’s an acceptance that wrinkles are the price you pay for comfort.
I have a ton of linen in my wardrobe and wear it all the time in summer months, but I’m not taking pictures with NATO officials 🤷🏾♀️ if I’m going to an Event ( yes, with a capital E) and I know that even after ironing, my linen shirt or pants are going to wrinkle, I’m going to opt out of wearing it. These pants may have worked better if they were form fitting, but they’re not so the wrinkles and pants just hang there. But that’s my preference and Meghan can wear what she wants.
Linen is very eco-friendly. I can accept wrinkles to benefit the environment (as well as comfort as Saucy&Sassy says).
I love Meghan and no matter what she wears she will always exude charisma through her photos. However, I admit I’m not a fan of the pants. I really don’t care about the wrinkles. Linen wrinkles and you can tell it’s from sitting. I don’t care for beige colored linen though or the fit of those pants. I agree, with them higher wasted, the color, and material reminds me of a grandpa with his pants pulled up. The blouse is absolutely beautiful in her and the color looks so good. She is glowing and happy and with Harry ♥ . Anyways, at least there is more to Meghan than her clothes.
However, wigs are flying at adelaid and incandescent is slinging lots of “pillows” around KP. They are with NATO and WanKs are having whole meltdowns. Not to long from now, we will see Mcmutton plop her wig on and step out in a nice rich tone silk shirt. She might even pair them with wide leg trousers.
I’m not loving the outfit, but it blows my mind how great she looks in (nearly) every color. Most women can not pull off jewel tones (bright green, yellow, etc.) and muted colors. I can wear muted, but not bright, cool colors. But Meghan really pulls everything off. I’m not sure how that is possible!
I have to be honest, those pants are not it. They do look better while she’s walking, but standing still they just kind of hang there and look like a bunch of fabric. The blouse is nice tho, some of my favorite colors are bronze, copper and gold with camel.
I love that H&M met with NATO officials. They have serious clout. And it’s not clout born of inherited privilege — H&M are seen as serious people, and so they get the attention of other serious people.
Duly noted….
Their service is making an impact….
Love to see the official NATO Central Forces account tweeting photos of Harry and Meghan and noting their support for Invictus.
It’s going back to the wide leg flare trend of the 90s. I’ve seen Victoria Beckham and others wear this style of pants the past couple mths. I remembered having some during the day too lol.
I still love her style just classic and simple – yeah this material wrinkles easily but just shows how she’s relatable to many of us. I’ve had a few outfits too that wrinkles easily 🙂. The style is not overdone, and it’s just natural.
In regards to meeting with NATO officials, that’s a bigger deal. I’m sure there’s a particular somewhere, they are seething 😀.
It’s called Edelknitter (noble wrinkles) here. I love the outfit.
I love neutrals like these: camels and beiges. Not “sand” beige but something with a touch of warmth or gold.
I don’t like to wear linen except in very casual settings, because of the wrinkling thing. It’s lovely and comfortable but it doesn’t look polished. But whatever. She looks good, her face is radiant. If I just look from the waist up she looks perfect.
NATO, wow.
Love the look… I love a good brown too 😂
Eh, pants are not a big deal… looks like linen or a linen blend to me, it will wrinkle no matter what and how many times you press them.
I agree, and I actually like that Meghan isn’t worried or fussed about wrinkles on a difficult-to-keep-unwrinkled fabric. I think I love the stuff Meghan wears, even when I wouldn’t wear it myself, because SHE wears every single thing she puts on. Her clothes never wear her. Even with the pants having such a wide, giant fit compared to her tiny frame, she’s still wearing the hell out of them pants and I appreciate that energy.
That’s quite an impressive meeting with the NATO officials. The games an are going incredibly well. I also think Germany is using it as a bit of a flex as well, especially with Russia conducting a war. It’s a show of strength with all these different defense secretaries from the different nations being present. On a lighter note, Harry and Meghan are in their element, going all out for the participants. I’m really liking this neutral outfit Meghan is wearing. Yes I would prefer she wore brighter colors or prints more but this really is her signature look and her understated accessible chic is really resonating on this trip. Mostly catching the highlights and the Twitter feeds because of the time difference.
Wrinkles. People go back in time and search images of Grace Kelly’s wedding and beautiful wedding gown and what do you think you’ll see.
William, Charles and Kate and the U.K. media are frothing in the mouth because NATO has given Harry and Meghan the relevance and legitimacy as a positive global force to reckon with.
I don’t like the shade of beige of her trousers either. It’s certainly a color very few would be able to wear close to the face. I don’t think the tones of the copper blouse and the beige of the trousers complement either.
I think Meghan’s whole Invictus wardrobe is likely to be neutrals because Invictus is not about her. The late Queen wore bright colours to be seen. Meghan is there to work, not just to be seen. It seems to me that they had a working meeting with NATO reps prior to the photo op so obviously she was sitting down, thus the wrinkles. Nobody who is wearing linen looks unwrinkled unless you are modelling on the runway and you were steamed just before your walk, or you just stand around like a statue all day. I believe NATO reps were at The Hague last year too. It’s a sure sign that the Games has the support of the military of all the countries involved. It shows they realize that the rehabilitation and healing, physical, mental, and emotional, of the members of their military is part of their obligation.
I find her pants here to be awful, but I typically love all her sad beiges. She is stunningly beautiful, and even these wrinkled mess pants can’t detract from her beauty.
agreed. i don’t mind that she likes shades of beige and while some of them may be kinda boring, they’re mostly flattering on her. but those pants look literally awful and she looks like circus performer wearing stilt pants. have a feeling a stylist did not pick this.
Meghan has a beautiful smile. And hardly a bad angle for photos. Blessed.
