I have this thing where I forget that Suki Waterhouse exists. Maybe she’s a lovely person, but to me, she’s completely forgettable. That might explain why Suki and Robert Pattinson have been together for five years and it’s not even a conversation. They mostly stay out of the news (as a couple) and they’ve only walked a couple of red carpets together in five years. Well, Suki is speaking out! She did a podcast interview and she ended up talking a lot about Rob and her celibate status before she started dating him, and how they’re living together now:
Just call it Suki Waterhouse and the six months of celibacy. The Daisy Jones & the Six star revealed that she had “no dates, no nothing” for half a year before her romance with now-boyfriend Robert Pattinson, who she’s been linked to since 2018. Though she joked that some people may not consider her self-described “bout of celibacy” to be a long one, Suki said that particular chapter of her life “turned out to be brilliant.”
“It’s just something about taking away the chaos of receiving attention, having to deal with it and texting people and getting those lurches of excitement,” she shared on the Oct. 4 episode of Apple’s Driven Minds: A Type 7 podcast. “It turned out to be great. I got very clear and got very comfortable with being by myself—then I ended up meeting my boyfriend.” She continued, “It felt extra special in a way.”
So, what made the 31-year-old take a beat on her love life? “I’ve been ghosted and broken up with after dating someone for a year, that was pretty bad,” Suki told host Gillian Sagansky, noting she’s been in several past relationships with “blinding red flags.”
“For me, the one thing that I really cherish in relationships is when somebody is just completely understanding,” she continued, explaining that she prefers a partner who’s “comfortable” with her busy work schedule. “I always think the home is the sanctuary and that’s why you leave everything outside….When that home center is secured, that’s the most wonderful thing and that’s the most important thing to me.”
And these days, Suki has been busy building a home with Rob, who she moved in with six months ago. As the actress noted elsewhere in the podcast, she recently hired professional help to sort out the “collection of mess” she’s accumulated over the years of living alone. “I’m very lucky because he is so accepting of the mess and the chaos,” Suki said, referring to the 37-year-old Twilight alum. “He never says anything about it. He kind of thinks it’s, like, charming so I’m very lucky for that.”
From the way Rob has spoken about his home situation, for years he’s been messy too. And I thought they started living together during the pandemic? I have a strong memory of Rob saying, years ago, that he moved into Suki’s place. Maybe he bought a new place for the two of them? Hm. As for the celibacy thing – I think it’s smart for women to do that, to just focus on themselves and their mental health for a time, especially if they’ve come out of a toxic situation or just a relationship with a bad ending. No one says you have to get right back up and start dating again right away!

I’d be surprised if he was either, just because that never seemed all that serious? They never lived in the same country, let alone city. And there seemed to be long stretches where they were nowhere near each other. Always struck me as more of a “friends with benefits” thing to hookup when their schedules aligned (which is totally cool, don’t get me wrong!). Who knows though!

I agree with her about having a partner that understands your lifestyle. Why some people decide to get into relationship with others with super busy schedules and then complain about it is beyond me.

Me too @kaiser. I don’t pay much attention to Suki(to me she doesn’t have the It factor as other actors).
Seems like though They’re both solid(I remembered reading a blog maybe a year ago where they were on/off but they’re still together) . That helps when the relationship is out of the spotlight compared to when he was in a relationship with Kristen(one of the very few times me and my sister were invested in a couple lolZ). Anyways those days are the past and everyone’s moved on for the best.
