Halle Bailey & DDG welcomed their son Halo at some point in late 2023

Fans figured out that 23-year-old Halle Bailey was knocked up last fall. She was pretty good at hiding her lil’ bump for a long time. Then she and her boyfriend DDG started getting photographed regularly and it became pretty obvious that she was far along in her pregnancy around October. I saw on Twitter before Christmas that her fans were speculating that she had the baby and didn’t announce anything, and that’s apparently exactly what happened. Halle confirmed that she gave birth to a son named Halo at some point in 2023.

Halle Bailey has a new bundle of joy becoming part of her world! The Little Mermaid actress, 23, has welcomed her first baby with boyfriend DDG, 26, a son they have named Halo.

Bailey announced the birth of her little boy on Instagram, posting a photo of her manicured hand holding that of a tiny hand with a gold bracelet etched with the name “Halo.”

Bailey and boyfriend DDG have been dating for more than a year. The pair went Instagram official in March 2022 when the Zooted Music record label founder posted on the R&B singer’s birthday. The actress is notoriously private about her personal life, having never confirmed she was expecting a baby throughout her pregnancy.

So many of Halle’s fans hate DDG – he’s apparently been openly jealous of her success and stardom, and it seems like he negs her and he’s not as supportive as he should be. It would not surprise me at all if he baby-trapped her and she’s just trying to make the best out of it. She’s so young though! Lord. Anyway, I’m glad that she gave birth to a healthy baby and it sounds like there was no drama at any level. We’ll see y’all.

Oh….so if my math is correct while he was dissing her in one of his songs and apparently engaging in some weirdly jealous trolling about her Little Mermaid co-star, she was pregnant through all that?

    Oh.

Well then, wishing all the best for the little baby and his mom. Good luck.

Wishing her all the luck. She probably is going to need it. I hope she has a lot of support around her.

  2. Mimi says:

Ugh. Congrats on the baby. That’s all I’ll say.

I need these young successful Black women to stop letting these losers into their lives and having babies with them. FOR REAL. DDG is a loser. Point blank. And was openly disrespctful of her, her work and her success. And now regardless of whether they break up (they will) she is tied to him for life.

    • Mimi says:

      Yup. Whitney, Ciara, Keke.

      • Bandito says:

Causally listing Keke and Whitney erasures the reality of DV and the amount of energy those women have poured into surviving dangerous & violent men. Statistics prove that a woman is most likely to be murdered by her abuser when she leaves him.

Statistics also show that marginalised women are more likely to experience DV and be murdered. Women who are bisexual, indigenous, black or trans (especially black trans women) are more likely to experience DV and be murdered.

Like I get being frustrated by the seeing young gifted successful women procreate with men who devalue them.
I just think it’s important to be mindful of what DV survivors like Whitney & Keke endured and how our society is complicit because survivors are given no support. Even being incredibly wealthy isn’t enough to protect you because the legal system was created in the context of patriarchal white supremacy. It wasn’t created with the needs and safety of women in mind.

I don’t know if the other women mentioned are experiencing abuse and it is none of my business. However, abusive men are not an anomaly. They are enabled by Eurocentric patriarchal capitalism.

The least when we can do is speak about survivors with compassion and respect. Especially when discussing them in relation to the men who abused them.

It’s so sad to watch happen in real time when you know these woman can do better and deserve better, ugh.

  4. Arizona says:

so they’ve been together for just over a year, but she was pregnant for nine months so… yikes.

    • Lucky Charm says:

That confused me. If they went IG official in March 2022, that’s almost two years ago. If she had the baby last month, then she got pregnant March 2023, a year after they went public. That’s not really rushing things?

  5. Yup, Me says:

    Oh, baby girl. 🫣

She’s been working and in the industry for so long that she probably feels older than she is, but she’s so incredibly young for this (not great) move.

I hope she’s super happy with her baby and that she’s got a great support system in place around her. And when the time comes to extricate herself from this situation, that it’s accomplished as easily as possible.

She owes her fans nothing. Yes. However, as the mom to two black girls, I don’t think she processed the absolute hit to her brand/image. My teenager wants nothing to do with her due to the disrespect she tolerated. With my little one, I won’t buy anymore Little Mermaid merchandise or support the project. Recently, I went out of my way to avoid the pajamas.

She already had her detractors due to being cast as a POC Ariel. I think she managed to alienate multiple sides here.

    Best of luck to her.

    • MoxyLady007 says:

I think we need to call it what it is.

      She’s not tolerating disrespectful behavior.

She’s being emotionally and psychologically abused.
He is abusing her. He abused her while she was pregnant. He will continue to do so and is likely to use their child to further his abuse.

      • Bandito says:

@moxylady007 ITA. Whatever he’s said about her in public is nothing compared to how he talks to her and treats her in private.
I really hope that are people around Halle who are supporting her and making her loved. If she ever does decide to leave I hope that her & her child make it out safely.

      • Plaidsheets says:

Honestly asking in case I missed something, when did this escalate to emotional/mental abuse. From the incidents I’ve seen, it appears to a dysfunctional dynamic, but did not rise to the level of abuse. You can speculate about what happens in private, but their public behavior has not crossed a line that I’ve seen.

  7. Amy Bee says:

All the best to Halle and her family.

  8. MsIam says:

Congrats to Halle. She’s been through a lot with all the horrible sh*t with the Little Mermaid and now people dumping on her about her baby and the father. I mean let the girl live. If the relationship doesn’t work then she will have to cope and move through it. She’s got her family, she and her sister seem close and hopefully the guy will get it and keep it together. Who are we to judge? I bet a lot of folks thought Brad Pitt was a catch at one point too.

  9. Duchess of hazard says:

She could have saved herself and aborted, but booo she’s tied to this loser forever!!!!

  10. Mollie says:

As someone who also had pregnancy nose, I knew it!!! Everything swells when you’re pregnant. I have a daughter that loves princesses. I’ve seen her little mermaid a thousand times. He nose looked different than little mermaid.

  11. Raven says:

Wow, the number of people who wanted Halle to be pregnant just so they can sh*t on her and hope for her down fall because she didn’t do things your was is crazy. Not buying the black Mermaid doll because she is in a toxic relationship is crazy. This is the exact reaction is why she hid her pregnancy..

I hope she continues to thrive in her career and that she dumps him .
