As we discussed, Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were loved up at the Golden Globes. She didn’t walk the carpet with him – she slipped in with zero photos and he basically picked her up in the lobby and they walked to their table together. The cameras stayed on them during the commercial breaks, which is where we got footage of them looking very into each other, tactile and (honestly) sexy. Like, they have chemistry. I’m into the way Timmy looks at her. Well, Selena Gomez was seated just a few tables away, at the Only Murders in the Building table with Martin Short, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin. At some point, Selena ran over to Taylor Swift’s table and dropped some kind of gossip bombshell, one which shocked Taylor and Kayleigh Teller (Miles’s wife). Here are the two videos circulating:

As you can see in the second video, Kayleigh clearly says “Timothee??” and both Kayleigh and Taylor look like they just received some major tea. In the first video, you can see Selena looking smug as she drops off the tea at Taylor’s door. Page Six’s expert lip reader (eyeroll) studied all available footage and he claims Selena said, “He didn’t want a picture with me. He said no.” Kayleigh then says, “Timothée?” Which at least keeps Kylie out of it. Meanwhile, Selena’s long-suffering PR team ran to People Mag with this:
Despite rampant speculation, Selena Gomez was not gossiping about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes with her close friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry, a Gomez source tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The Only Murders in the Building star, 31, was seen seemingly spilling some tea to her pals in a now-viral moment caught on camera, but “she was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie,” says the source.
While rumors spread on social media that Jenner, 26, stopped her boyfriend, 28, from taking a photo with Gomez at the event, the source adds that Gomez “never even saw or spoke to them.”
Gomez — who was up for best performance by a female actor in a television musical or comedy for her role in her Hulu series — was all smiles throughout the night, mingling with costars and friends before reuniting with her boyfriend Benny Blanco at the end of the night.
Here’s my thing – if a friend told me that Timothee Chalamet refused to take a picture with her, my reaction would not be to dramatically gasp and widen my eyes. I would cringe and say “yikes.” So, I feel comfortable saying the drama probably didn’t involve anything like “Timmy didn’t want to take a photo with Selena.” That being said, Kayleigh visibly said Timothee’s name and you don’t have to interact with people to spill some gossip about them. Selena’s people are possibly telling a half-truth here – Selena didn’t interact with Timothee or Kylie, but she saw something and she wanted to share the goss with Taylor and Kayleigh. I’m spinning out scenarios which would make sense… maybe she saw Kylie giving Timmy a handy under the table?? I would gasp if I heard that second-hand (so to speak, lmao).

Well, one of them clearly said “Timothee”, so this denial doesn’t help.
My guess is that they were just surprised that he’d taken Kylie to an awards ceremony. I don’t think he has brought an official date before, and a lot of people (me, for example) didn’t think they were real/ serious/ still dating. I don’t think it’s quite so dramatic as the Boebert special lol.
To be fair – I make massive jumps in logic that don’t always land.
If someone said – “he completely ignored me” or “he asked for my number” I would throw out a guess – or just say WHO omg! and start looking around like a meer cat.
But I’m subtle that way.
She literally could have walked up and said – you guys he’s here with Kylie. Ie their relationship is serious. And depending on the person who she told – I can see them acting surprised or incredulous. Like – it’s not that deep or that big of a deal.

What I saw yesterday was guessing that she said she asked to take a picture with him and SHE (Kylie) said no. I don’t know if that’s any more true, but the gossipy, scandalized response makes more sense.

I think the plastic surgery just ages her and makes her look more mature than she is but I still think she looks 20-something, just with a lot of plastic surgery.

Timothee and Selena used to be really good friends. They co-starred in some Woody Allen movie together and used to post a lot of content together.
Selena was working the room all night, networking. She took selfies with a lot of people from Jennifer Anniston to Florence Pugh. It makes sense that she would ask old mate Timmy for a selfie.
It makes sense to me considering the beef between Kylie, Hailey Bieber and Selena.
I am kinda amazed at how much traction this story has gotten. And I think it’s because people are using speculation about what Selena said as a vehicle to express their opinions on Kylie.
Like idk Kayleigh Teller has an expressive face and one of them probably said Timothee? Maybe they were gossiping about him, maybe it was about his romantic life, maybe they were discussing another Timothy, maybe they were discussing something else entirely.
Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez are all womxn that people like to say sh*t about. I realise they’re not perfect (Kylie is a culture vulture and Swift has weaponised white feminine victim hood).
Currently however there’s literally no tea. And like people are allowed to say someone’s name to someone else even if that person has an expressive face. I’m not convinced this would have blown up if it had involved different people.

I feel like this confirms that Taylor and Selena would be the most fun to hang out with at en event like this (if one couldn’t hang out with Andrew Scott and Pedro Pascal—I’d kill to know what they were talking about). I would love to know the gossip that circulates in different friend groups after an event like this. JLaw seems like she would have excellent post-event gossip too.
My completely uneducated guess is Selena was telling them SOMETHING interesting about Timothee. Maybe she saw him do something, maybe that’s the moment they realized he brought Kylie, WHO KNOWS. So she went and told her friends the tea–which feels so relatable. I also kind of feel for Kayleigh because that is totally me with the expressive face and people would definitely know what I was saying just by the video. I really doubt it’s that she was denied a photo. That’s silly. I’d love to know what WAS said though. 🙂

I didn’t read all the comments, so maybe it was pointed out by someone else (surely it was), but from what I did read and even the theory given by the author didn’t point out the fact that Selena is VERY obviously saying, “NO,” with lot a lot of emphasis on the word. Plus, look at her body language! It is about something shocking to HER and in my opinion, she looks a little embarrassed or just appalled by whatever it is she is saying. This isn’t about seeing something going on at their table, this is something that was said to her OR MAYBE it can be said that she overheard a conversation where one of them asked the other something and they said no to the question and it was shocking to her. What is more likely? “NO” is a definite in my opinion. So, maybe she DID asked for a photo, possibly to get under Kylie’s skin after the crap Kylie did to her (and other reasons most of us can figure out). OR, she heard something from the table where one asked something and the other one said no and it shocked her, but what could she have heard that would justify her reaction?
I’m going with the first choice. I am just picturing her facial expressions, etc, and it is just a dead give-away that it is gossip, it is shocking to her, it was something she was so thrown off by that she let her guard down long enough to forget that there could be cameras on her at ANY ANGLE, and this woman is usually very aware of the potential of how things can be taken out of context, so in MY opinion, she is good at conducting herself as such. She has learned the hard way, but IF her back was to their table and she knew they couldn’t see her face from their table, she would have felt she could do that without them seeing. This is a woman that is very experienced in the industry, so whatever she is talking about was big enough for HER to feel like she HAD to tell it right away…to her best friend.
The thing I feel like I saw from the Selena part of the video saying, “NO,” was that Taylor seems to be more aware of the fact that cameras could be everywhere because of the way she leaned into Selena with whatever she said to her. Taylor wasn’t upset, fired up, shocked, or whatever Selena was feeling, so she had her guard up, whereas it seems Selena let her guard down, unfortunately.
I have no idea who the other young lady is, but the one who said, “Timothee,” (I still can’t hear it) must not have realized every move and every word would likely be recorded. She is going with the flow of the person she is likely a huge fan of, that has had the experience she hasn’t, so it isn’t on her, in my opinion. Having said that, you can’t sit on the end of two of the most famous, loved women in the industry and react that way. I get that she was trying to verify who the person was or something because it is loud and I feel like Selena really wanted to tell Taylor, but didn’t want to be rude to her. I know there will be a few people thinking I’m an idiot for not knowing who she is. I’m sure she is super famous. But, she isn’t Selena and Taylor famous. I guess I could Google her, but the point is that without hearing his name, this would be a big NOTHING BURGER. Just because Selena is seen saying “NO,” to Taylor doesn’t mean it was about either of them, but my money is that it was about SOMEONE and they said, “NO.”
Surely there are people that can actually read lips that can tell more of the story. All I could make out was the body language and the word, “No.” It is times like this I will tell myself I am going to learn how to read lips. But, I’m ADHD, so in two seconds I’ll forget and decide I’m going to start working out, clean the house, etc. I think the ADHD is the reason I still can’t hear “Timothee,” like everyone else can. I can’t tune out extra noise like that. But, I can spot some gossip with body language. This is some gossip that will blow over, or grow into another eyebrow laminating war. Only time will tell…Just my opinion.

There is something incredibly tacky about gossiping about people you are in the same room with. It’s classless. So regardless of WHAT she said it was a tacky thing to do. Gossip after the fact. Not while you’re in a crowded room with the person you’re gossiping about is only a few tables over. And definitely not while your BFF is Taylor Swift and you know the cameras are watching. Selena has always been messy and her PR works overtime to cover it up.

Of course people at the Globes are going to gossip. They are human beings just like everybody posting here. And they are in a room full of some of the most gossip-worthy people on the planet! I know there’s all kinds of gossip during and after my office holiday party. The Golden Globes are like an office holiday party on steroids. Is it saintly to gossip? Eh, probably not. But is this kind of thing ultimately pretty harmless in the grand scheme of life? Yes.

This is petty, but at first glance, I thought it was a 40-something actress sitting next to Timothee in these pictures. I did a double take. Kylie’s look is more subtle than usual and her plastic surgery really aged her.
I thought they looked a little high in that video. I couldn’t tell if it was that or just the intoxication of that specific type of beautiful, ephemeral, mid-20s, love. I wonder if it was drug related or as others have said some kind of PDA faux pas? Maybe it is the fact that I am now 40 but this situation seems messy af. I get a good gossip session, but have they not learned to do this away from cameras or the public eye? There were plenty of other people that night, I am sure, that were talking about their fellow attendees and they aren’t in a news cycle for it now. Sorry, I can’t help but see a little Mean Girls when I see the video. They are obviously reacting to something said about someone who is there as they all turn to look same direction. I consider myself a Taylor fan, at least of her brains, reported kindness and political influence (not such a fan of her music prolly cause I’m OLD), but I’ve always been a bit weirded out by her “squad” of A-list friends who seem to be with her whenever she is not with a man.
