Eva Mendes is grateful her kids’ privacy was protected at the Olympics

The Olympics are sadly coming to an end on Sunday, August 11. They’ve been so much fun to watch this year! My whole family and I have really enjoyed watching them each night. As with all big events like this, there were a lot of celebrity sightings during the games. Nicole Kidman, Mariska Hargitay, Tom Cruise, Serena Williams, Chris Meloni, and Seth Rogan were some of the many stars who were spotted enjoying the festivities. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were also in attendance with their two young daughters, Esmeralda, nine, and Amada, eight.

The Mendes-Gosling family was there to watch the women’s gymnastics uneven bars final. Eva and Ryan are famously very protective of their daughters’ privacy. They don’t show them off on social media, have them attend premieres, or get papped with them. While they were at the Olympics, TV cameras showed Eva and Ryan but didn’t pan over to reveal their girls. When outlets ran pictures of the family sitting together in the stands, they blurred out the girls’ faces. Eva was really grateful that their daughters’ privacy was protected, so she issued a thank you to the press via her Instagram page.

Eva Mendes is one happy mama. The Hitch actress shared a message of gratitude on Instagram after attending the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with Ryan Gosling and the couple’s two children, showing her heartfelt appreciation for the public’s respect of their daughters’ privacy.

On Sunday, The Place Beyond the Pines co-stars stepped out with daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8. The family of four was in the stands at the Bercy Arena as they watched the women’s gymnastics uneven bars final, where Team USA gymnast Suni Lee brought home the bronze. Gosling, 43, and Mendes, 50, kept things low-key as they sat in the stands each wearing sunglasses. For his part, the Barbie star rocked a green Olympics hat and a red and blue flannel. Meanwhile, Mendes looked casual in a black dress.

“I love @nbcolympics didn’t cut away to the kids ! And most sites blurred their faces so mama bear is happy about that,” Mendes later wrote in a comment on Instagram. “It felt so good to be there and feel unified with people.”

Mendes’ comment came after she shared a private moment that highlighted her “sleep marks” while enjoying the city’s early morning light from her hotel. In her caption, she admitted that her “wall goes up” when she sees photographers out on the street.

Mendes went on to clarify that her statement wasn’t meant as a complaint.

“They were great about not posting the kids so I’m a grateful mama bear,” she added in another comment.

That’s great that the Mendes-Goslings were able to safely and comfortably enjoy the Olympics. I’m not sure if that was a choice made by the Olympics committee to not show the faces of non-famous children of famous people or if the networks/outlets took it open themselves to blur out their faces, but it’s pretty cool that they did that. I know that France has stricter laws about children being photographed, so I wonder if the country’s laws played any role there, as well. Or, maybe Eva and Ryan just have really good people on their team that went above and beyond to make sure that the girls’ faces weren’t shown. Whatever it was, I’m glad their privacy was honored. What a great experience for Esmeralda and Amada, though. They got to see an American gymnast win a bronze medal! I’m sure this will be a family vacation they’ll never forget.

The only thing I noticed were her ridiculous overdone lips🤣

There are pictures of their kids faces online at the Olympics.

I think she’s beautiful 🤷‍♀️. Did nbc blur the kids’ faces out? If so cool. I wouldn’t expect some of the papers like the DM to do the same.

GDPR laws are very important in the EU so I believe it has something to do with those, also, even though they were filmed in an openly public place

So criticising her lips is all people here have? We know she uses fillers. She admits to work she gets done. She’s not a one trick pony.. She’s not just married to Ryan. She runs a couple of businesses and she wants to be a sahm while her husband travels for work so they can be a family. I don’t get the hate for her? She’s dealt with racial abuse because of being with Ryan from the beginning – plus she’s older than him. I get her wanting to maintain her looks, she’s gorgeous.

This is Celebitchy not Celebnicey. So because people were mean to her once, and she chooses to be a stay at home mom while her rich husband works we aren’t allowed to talk about her appearance🤣gimme me a break.
