Beyonce sent a cease & desist to Trump’s campaign & they took down that video

Tuesday afternoon, Donald Trump’s campaign manager Steven Cheung posted a video of Trump waddling off of a plane. Cheung and the campaign added Beyonce’s “Freedom” to the video. Beyonce gave special permission to Kamala Harris’s campaign to use that song, and Beyonce even gave the campaign an acapella version to use in the Harris-Walz’s campaigns latest ads. Not even 24 hours later, Beyonce’s people informed Rolling Stone that they threatened to send a cease-and-desist:

Beyoncé has threatened to send a cease-and-desist to the Trump campaign after the former president posted a clip of her “Freedom” — Kamala Harris’ unofficial campaign song — in a video posted on social media, Rolling Stone has learned.

A source close to Beyoncé tells Rolling Stone that the Trump campaign did not receive permission to use the Lemonade track in the 13-second video of Trump getting off a plane in Michigan that Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung posted Tuesday. As of press time Wednesday, the video was still up on Cheung’s X account despite her label issuing the cease-and-desist.

Shortly after that, Cheung deleted the video from Twitter – it was an idiotic attempt to “troll” Kamala Harris and her campaign, but Trump is such a weak-ass coward, he didn’t actually want to go to war with Beyonce and her lawyers. There are still rumors going around that Beyonce is actually going to show up at the Democratic National Convention tonight in Chicago, the final night where Kamala Harris will address the convention. Like, there’s a rumor Beyonce may perform, or at the very least, give an in-person endorsement.

Meanwhile, Tim Walz left the DNC stage last night to Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” one of his favorite songs. Young rarely gives anyone permission to use that song in any capacity, and Young has previously blocked the Trump campaign from using that song. Apparently, Young gave his personal permission to the Harris-Walz campaign to use the song at the DNC.

As for that new Harris-Walz ad… it’s incredible.

Wow! That’s a great ad! Also lol at 45 getting ANOTHER cease and desist letter. At this rate, he could be setting a world record. These rejections have to be getting to him.

We NEED official “We’re Not Going Back” campaign gear! Please Harris-Walz campaign, don’t make me buy these shirts and hats on Etsy.

I want to buy merch from the Harris-Walz campaign, but they need more! Everything I want is sold out. 🙁 I want a mug that says “madame president” on it. I don’t want to buy from Etsy, when so many shops sell Kamala merch alongside January 6 merch. I want to give my money to the campaign!

LOL I love that Bey put an end to that shit with the quickness. It’s amazing how they would dare to cheapen such an incredible song by pairing it with a video of the orange menace walking out of a plane.

Question for anyone who knows —
Why **threaten** to send a cease-and-desist? Why not just send it?

  5. TQ says:

The new ad is so good!!!! Love it!!! Yay!!

So the walking Cheeto’s campaign has poked at the Swifties and now The Hive, please let them anger the K-Pops! They already schooled him in 2020, they’ll be happy to do it again. Actually the dream would be all three to join forces, it would shatter Trumplandia

  7. Miranda says:

If Trump and his goons want footage of him paired with popular music, you know what would be fun? A series of ads recounting Trump’s chaotic antics paired with break-up songs (Hakeem Jeffries’s “stalker ex-boyfriend” analogy was dead on). Like, get Taylor to sign off on “We Are Never Getting Back Together”.

Yes that part of his speech was so thoughtful, layered, and funny. I really enjoyed it. “Spinn’ the Block Trump” is gold.

“Like, get Taylor to sign off on “We Are Never Getting Back Together”.”

      BRILLIANT!!!!

I shall call the theme of this election cycle “Trumpy is Scared of Powerful Women.” Love this journey for him.

That little girl high-fiving Madame President just wrecked me. I have an almost 12 year-old daughter and this feels like a fight for HER. For the future, generally, of course, but specifically for our girls. I want them to have opportunities, to control their destinies, and to make their own decisions. I don’t want them to be oppressed or abused or disregarded. I want them to be valued and equal. I am so excited about the promise of this campaign and this team.

Kamala has surrounded herself with exceptional people. Everything has been flawless – locking in her delegates, picking her VP, the social media campaign, etc. Not a false step yet. I am so hyped!!
