Quinta Brunson in Georges Chakra at the Emmys: stunning?

This was not Abbott Elementary’s year at the Emmys. They were shut out in every category by Hacks or The Bear, but they’ve already won four Emmys in past years. Abbot is a universally loved and popular TV series with their fourth season coming out next month. This show will make it to ten seasons at least, knock wood, and I know we’ll be seeing more of them. Star, creator and co-writer Quinta Brunson looked gorgeous in a black Georges Chakra mermaid gown with a pointy bustline. I would have liked it better without the bows along the side, but it needed some kind of extra detail. Her Kewpie doll hair is both cute and stylish! Abbott comes back on October 9th, a Wednesday, at 9:30. I try to save about two to three episodes to watch at one time whenever I’m down and need a pick-me-up. One is not enough at a time!

Sheryl Lee Ralph wore a Versace gown with Cartier jewelry. She brought her husband of almost twenty years, Senator Vincent J. Hughes, to the Emmys. I love to see them together as that’s rare! Sheryl was styled by her daughter, Ivy Lee Coco, and she always credits her in her red carpet interviews. I kind of love that she went with the 60s pointy bust with this. It’s probably a part of the gown that they leaned into and it’s cool-looking. How is this lady 67 years old? She gives me hope, it’s probably false hope but it’s hope.

Janelle James was in a crimson red one shoulder Marchesa gown with gathered floral like fabric. It’s a bit fussy to me but she’s wearing it well. You can tell she likes the gown and that counts for a lot.

Chris Perfetti was in Christian Siriano and I like that he leaned into the fashion.

I don’t have an ID on Tyler James Williams’ look but if there’s a Ken movie or any kind of Barbie sequel, and there better be, he needs to be cast in it. He is giving Ken Doll here.

Quinta’s dress was really cool but I also disliked the unnecessary bows. The liquid-fabric effect was really interesting. And I usually hate big dresses but loved Janelle’s. The color was gorgeous on her and the dress was sophisticated.

I liked Quinta’s look the best. Her hair was perfect for the dress; high fussy hair would have made the look too over the top.

    I love Sheryl’s dress!!

    How is it possible she’s 67?? 👀🤔

Quinta looked very good. They all did. And good lord, those arms!

This Quinta Brunson dress is quite beautiful. Look how the light plays across the fabric. And I love her do. Retro and perfect.

  8. Lala11_7 says:

Quinta’s Glam team REALLY leaned into the “Betty Boop” look ❤️ which was appropriate for Quinta’s body type & face ❤️ and paid homage to Esther Lee “Baby Esther” Jones…the Black 1920s entertainer who inspired the iconic comic figure❣️

I like Quinta’s dress but the bows are a miss for me. The dress is already big and the bows overwhelm it. I still feel like her stylist hasn’t quite nailed how to dress her small frame. Tyler’s waist looks SNATCHED in that vest. And he has amazing arms and the cut of the vest shows them off perfectly.

I love this whole cast so much. They all look great too.

  11. LeahTheFrench says:

I think the overall fit looks fantastic on Quinta, but this dress has an over-abundance of details. Something a bit simpler / cleaner would have worked in my view. But her hair and make-up are perfection!

The men of Abbott had the best fashion IMO. Chris’ look was just enough ruffles. Tyler looked hot.
