Selena Gomez was easily one of the best-dressed of the 2024 Emmy Awards. She was a first-time Best Comedic Actress nominee for Only Murders in the Building, and she took it seriously. She went very glam in this custom Ralph Lauren. Her makeup looked great too, probably all Rare Beauty, her billion-dollar beauty line. I actually love it when a younger actress gets nominated and makes a conscious choice to err on the conservative side and just looks pulled together and pretty.
Selena’s costar Meryl Streep wore Alexander McQueen. Meryl may have canoodled a bit with Martin Short during the ceremony too.
Jodie Foster won her first Emmy last night! She won Best Actress in a Drama for True Detective. I suspect her dress is Armani.
Mindy Kaling went with this simple Gaurav Gupta gown. I like it! I can’t believe she’s now a mother of three. She just gave birth to her third kid earlier this year!

I’m always surprised that Mindy Kaling wears so much black. Her gorgeous skin tone would work with so many colors. Don’t love the stiffness of the dress.
And I really do not like Jody Foster’s dress but super happy that she won. I always enjoy her on screen.
Maybe it is due to sweating? I started sweating like a cow this summer. Perimenopause is no joke. And botox is one of the solutions, but it might not be Mindy’s choice. I agree she would look so much better in rich green or deep red, but I do not hate this dress.
Jodi’s dress looked like something Obi Wan would wear.
Mindy looked lovely but simple and Selena looked fine.
I like the dress and I like it on Selena but I wouldn’t have picked it for her. Sure it’s flattering and it’s a beautiful dress. I just think it’s maybe a bit too demure (heheh) for her. She always looks great but the dress feels a bit too heavy and serious.
I think all of them look great. Jodie’s dress is a little boring for me – I would have liked to have seen some sparkle maybe in the belt or at her ears – but its overall a good look. Selena looked gorgeous. Meryl is Meryl and Mindy also looked gorgeous.
Selina and Mindy look beautiful. Not a fan of Jodie’s dress – unnecessary flaps and that sad, limp train. I hate everything about Meryl’s outift – pastel, enveloping jacket, pussy bow and gigantic pants – all the worst of the 80’s.
Sorry but I don’t like Selena’s dress. Its very matronly. She was going for old Hollywood glamour but I don’t get the glamour, I just get the old part. Actually, the outfit I liked best was Meryl Streep’s, I’m glad she went outside the evening gown box. Mindy looks nice but that dress style seems awfully familiar, like its been done to death. She looks good though.
All this black and Jennifer Aniston was called boring? she made the right choice this Emmys. All these choices have been done over and over on the red carpet especially Selena’s fish tail gown. I like Meryl’s pink suit simply because of that although I usually don’t like pants suits at award shows.
I love Selena and Mindy’s looks. Simple but elegant.
Selena must have been dying in the heat wearing velvet. She looks nice, but jewel colors look so nice on her, and she has youth on her side, the look is a little heavy for me, same with Mindy.

While Selena’s gown is nicely fitted, it still swallows her up, like Jodie’s does. Mindy, as still another small person, looks fabulous in the beautifully fitted and proportioned gown.
I’m really excited for Selena. She just won the Best Actress prize from Cannes alongside her co-stars in Emilia Perez. She’s getting a lot of Oscar buzz in the Best Supporting Actress category (alongside the criminally underrated Zoe Saldana) in that film. I think we’ll be seeing a lot of both women, because they’ve both started campaigning for that Oscar nom!
Meryl looked like a BOSS. The cut of that suit was perfection. I find Selena’s style so boring. The dress is pretty but it’s also boring and ages her.
I can’t resist a black velvet dress. Stunning! Reminds me a bit of a black velvet dress Kate Middleton wore once and I thought it was THE best she has ever looked before and since.
Anyway Selena looks fabulous!
