Angelina Jolie is selling her 1958 Ferrari 250 GT through a Christie’s auction

For years now, Angelina Jolie mostly uses drivers and/or her security act as her drivers. I don’t doubt that she still drove herself around sometimes, and she used to love to ride motorcycles, but she’s gentler on herself and I think she understands that she can’t live fast and drive crazy like she used to. Well, interesting news? Angelina owns a vintage Ferrari and she’s put it up for auction with Christie’s.

A vintage Ferrari owned by Angelina Jolie will be offered at Christie’s auction house’s “Exceptional Sale” on Nov. 20 in Paris.

Jolie is the current owner of the 1958 Ferrari 250 GT with coachwork by Pininfarina SpA, Christie’s confirmed. The black coupé with wire-spoke wheels is the 11th of the 353 of its kind built from 1955 to 1960, according to the sale catalog. But many details surrounding the auction headliner remain unclear, including basic facts related to its provenance, mechanical condition and how many components are original to the vehicle.

First introduced at the 1958 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari 250 GT coupé model line offered a 12-cylinder, 240-horsepower engine with highly desirable and advanced Weber carburetors. The sporty two-door replaced Ferrari’s Boano and Ellena coupés and showed off the new capabilities of the Pininfarina design house, which had recently opened its factory in Grugliasco, Italy, and was ready to implement higher-volume production.

In a phone call and email exchange, a Christie’s spokesperson confirmed that the car retains its original engine but was “probably” repainted in 1978 from its original color of white and blue; the original black interior has been changed to red. The odometer reads 64,244 miles, although it was unclear whether those miles were original. Christie’s declined to say how long the actress had owned the car or whether she’d ever used it. The auction house is expecting its value to range from €600,000 ($662,000) to €800,000.

The provenance question is funny – while I’m sure Jolie has some paperwork on the car, I’m also sure that the provenance of “this rare Ferrari was owned by Angelina Jolie” will drive higher bids. I wonder if this is something she bought for herself in her more “wild child” era, or if it was a gift. She’s sold a few big-ticket items given to her by Brad Pitt, and this kind of has that vibe – I could totally see Brad giving her a vintage Ferrari as a gift and Jolie choosing to sell it years later. But who knows. It’s cool that she owned this car though. It is her taste – she loves vintage, throwback luxury items.

If this isn’t a big ticket gift, I could see her getting it during her Gone in 60 Seconds era.

You took the words right out of my mouth! Definitely, Gone in 60 Seconds vibe here. I remember reading in something she scared Jon Voight with doing this movie and wanting fast cars then.

    Nice car.
AJ would make that car look even better.
She is still a stunning woman. 👍

    OMG. That CAR.

Angelina Jolie also drove this very Ferrari, her Ferrari, in her Mon Guerlain advert for Guerlain, that was directed by Terrace Malick

Yeah she seems to be getting rid of everything Brad gifted her, I could see it be a gift from him

What grabbed my attention was when she sold the Winston Churchill painting that Armpit gave her. I read somewhere that she was/is a great admirer of Churchill – Whinny.

    • Noo says:

@therese Winston Churchill was extremely racist and I would be surprised if Angelina Jolie admires him. I think there is a much more critical re-examination of Churchill’s perceived positive legacy in world war II considering that his earlier policy actions contributed to the conditions for wwII.

    • Lauren says:

Yes, Angelina Jerry has been a long-term admirer of Winston Churchill she even at one point was about two direct movie about Winston Churchill which would have started Anthony Hopkins was in negotiations. Still love the fact that she sold the painting and made quite a lot of money on it..

      • Noo says:

I’m no major Angelina stan, but show me some evidence from recent years that she remains an admirer of churchill? The painting and her talks to be involved in that movie are all from over 10 years ago. As the mother of a very multiracial family I would find it very difficult to see her as a current Winston Churchill admirer considering what we know now about his extremely racist beliefs and actions.

This vintage Ferrari was always owned by Angelina Jolie well before she met Brad Pitt, and this isn’t a gift from him .
Considering we haven’t received any PR blowback from Pitt & his PR who never are far away from gaslighting Angelina Jolie, so as we noticed their radio silence on this news, we can rratcassure this vintage car was never had any connexions with Pitt, just fully owned by Angelina Jolie .

Can Angelina Jolie be any more sexier owning a vintage Ferrari, she’s a racer, pilot , just love the action girl she is. I know she’s taken a step back since the kids, but still loved this adventurous brave side of her… hope she gets a good sale .
