Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce went to the Yankees-Guardians game last night

This is “bye week” for the Kansas City Chiefs, which explains why Travis Kelce is in New York with his girlfriend Taylor Swift. Taylor owns a huge loft in Tribeca, and she’s mostly based out of NYC these days (and has been for a while) Taylor and Travis were out and about in NYC over the weekend, and then on Monday, Travis took Taylor to a baseball game. Jerrod Carmichael was there too (he’s a new friend for Swift).

The game was between the Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians. The Yankees won! Apparently, Travis is a big Guardians fan, mostly because he’s an Ohio native. I think Travis is just a big sports fan in general and he’s possibly trying to get Taylor more into other sports. It’s funny because she only became a football fan when she started dating Travis, and I think she’s pretty much over sports beyond football. It looked like Travis was trying to explain something about baseball and Taylor could not give less of a f–k. Still, a nice date night. They spent the weekend looking cute while going out to dinner, so they had one Travis-centric date night on Monday. Good for them.

she’s been an Eagles fans – not a superfan by any stretch, but she did reference wearing her Eagles shirt in a song on evermore, and that was in 2020. she’s from PA and her dad’s a big football guy, so she’s probably been a casual fan.

I once pretended to be more into football for a year while dating someone. Once the initial attraction wore off I was like ugh this is not my jam! And I noticed he ate, drank and slept football, and then baseball, and golf, and hockey and march madness. i’m laughing there was no other hobby. I learned a lesson. But I am jealous. I think it’s great to be very into sports and wish I was raised to appreciate and understand more. I instead was in a house reading classics and historical fiction or going to museums. I just cant change my interestes all though I’ve tried. It’s like I missed the sports interest window. She looks way better here – more natural and relaxed.

Your house growing up sounds like my dream! 🙂

      • Lisa says:

Barrett, I grew up in a house where football and baseball were followed regularly My house literally had no books in it. But I share all your interests and hate sports. Sometimes we just like what we like.

      • Neeve says:

Barrett you sound like the episode of SATC when Samantha pretended to be into football I think just to date a guy,but she couldn’t keep it when she realised that the guy was into other sports so the obsession would go on.

      • Georgine says:

There was a Sex and the City episode where this happened to Samantha! Haha she dumped him like mid way through hockey season.

    • Truthiness says:

Wasn’t her first big hit video You Belong With Me all about liking a guy on the football team? 15 years ago she was seeing herself dating a football guy. At the time I liked how Taylor played the blond geek in the band AND the brunette bad girl cheerleader.

There’s a video of her doing a little dance with her drink and snacks and I just feel seen with that

    • Justjj says:

I saw this video where she appears to hear distant thunder and asks the smaller crowd of fans in front of her a couple times “What’s that? … What’s that???” and then she realizes and goes “OHhhhhhh, it’s …YOU GUYS!!!” and does this giddy little dancy dance. So disarming and funny.

If I had the money, I would definitely be seeing tons of live events in really nice seats!

    • Mightymolly says:

Right? Sitting in a VIP box getting served restaurant quality food and libations for a game you’re only mildly interested in is a still a great night out.

  4. Miranda says:

She looks really cute here. Casual Taylor (though still more dressed up than most of our definitions of “casual”) is the best Taylor, I think.

    • Melly says:

She looks so relaxed with Travis. I’m rooting for them to make it

      • Mightymolly says:

I’m very new to the Swiftyverse but I have lived on earth the last 15 years, so I have thoughts. I don’t care if they get married and have babies. That might not be their thing. But it seems like she dated a lot of artists and they were prone to the emotional drama artists are known for. Travis seems like a good match for her, especially in that he really seems proud of her and not afraid to be her plus one.

    • lucy2 says:

I’m always amazed by how dressed she is for these events,. Anytime I go to a game, I’m in jeans and sneakers, but I guess when the whole world scrutinizes your every move, you dress up a bit.

  5. Ashley says:

Okay, this convinced me lol. She genuinely looks at peace with him, and the hand holding was cute too. Physical touch is definitely their love language

  6. K8erade says:

My reasons for thinking this relationship won’t last is because I think both Taylor and Travis are trying to be someone they’re not for the other. I think Taylor is trying to be way more into sports than she actually is and I especially think Travis is trying to turn himself into less of a jock caveman for her. It’s one thing to share non-mutual interests with your partner but this just seems to go way beyond for both.

    • QuiteContrary says:

My husband-to-be took me to a concert of minimalist music (Philip Glass) when we were dating and I’ve never been more bored out of my skull. I mostly spent the concert trying to figure out what I could say about it. I borrowed the minimalist approach LOL.

But I did learn to like English football, and he learned to like baseball, and decades later, we’re still going strong.

      • Mightymolly says:

LMAO! I had a similar first date experience involving Philip Glass. I didn’t marry the guy, but I get a chuckle from the memory. It was fine. We just weren’t a good match.

    • Truthiness says:

I think Travis has always been more chivalrous, not a jock caveman when he’s dating, very unlike his brother. Travis laughs til he cries at Jason’s lack of chivalry. There’ a story from college where Travis spent all his money on Valentine’s day for his gf plus there’s that whole dating show he did.

Taylor said everything Travis touches brings magic and fun so I’m guessing she finds sports enjoyable, at least for now.

  7. Noo says:

@kaiser one small thing, last week was bye week. This week KC plays on Sunday so it’s a normal week where Travis should be going back to practice. Monday is usually a light recovery day though after a Sunday game.

    • Anonymous says:

I think Travis has been into music for a long time. I don’t think it was her kind of music but he went to concerts and his brother is quite an amateur musician. I don’t know about her and sports but her father played college football and was a friend of Andy Reid. Travis has a Kelce Jam
In KC which is a music jam for charity and Jason teases him about making it a very big charity event if he invited the right act.
