King Charles had a diversity czar this whole time but didn’t tell anyone

In 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah aired in the US and around the world. The Windsors completely panicked. Pre-interview, they signed off on Prince William’s scheme to smear Meghan as a sociopathic bully who made staffers scream and cry with just a look. Post-interview, the Windsors tried to change the subject (??) by announcing that they had BIG plans to hire a “diversity czar.” Remember how big those headlines were? Blaring headlines about how QEII and Charles suddenly realized – no, they realized months before the Oprah interview – that what they needed most was a shiny new diversity czar. A few months after the interview, the palace admitted that whoops, they didn’t hire anyone and they weren’t going to. After QEII’s death, King Charles’s staff admitted that they put together an 88% white committee to “tackle palace diversity,” yet there was mysteriously still no diversity czar. Now, suddenly, there was a diversity czar this whole time, and yet no one ever paid attention to her? It doesn’t matter because she recently quit.

King Charles’s diversity czar who was brought in after the Harry and Meghan race row has quit.

Eva Omaghomi, who was the King’s most senior black aide, was appointed to a newly created role of director of community engagement in July 2021. She had worked for the Royal Household for 13 years before picking up the job at the height of the Royal Family race row.

Her job was said to be to ‘help take forward Their Royal Highnesses’ work with minority groups in the UK, Commonwealth and globally’.

She was by the King’s side throughout his visit to Rwanda two years ago but was not in Samoa or Australia. It is understood she resigned her post last month for a job in the private sector with insiders “sorry to see her go”.

[From The Sun]

Granted, this news has skewed the results I’m getting, but this is the first time most people have even heard that Eva Omaghomi was supposedly the Windsors’ diversity czar for the past three-and-a-half years? Why were the Windsors taking L after L about their childish PR scheme for a czar if they could have pointed to Omaghomi this whole time? That makes me wonder if the palace has just recently decided that Omaghomi had that “diversity czar” job the whole time now that she’s left royal work. The Windsors are all about revisionist history, and I would love to hear from Omaghomi about what she thought her role really was and whether she knew that she was supposed to be the Black czarina.

this feels weird, right? Like they had a “diversity czar” this whole time and we’re only hearing about it as she’s leaving? They never used it as proof of how “very much not a racist family” they are??

    • ML says:

      It feels untrue.

If true, then Eva Omaghomi might have insisted that they could not attach her name to anything BP did that she disagreed with.

    • LauraD says:

@Becks1 – ITA especially when they made a huge fuss about saying they couldn’t find anyone suitable and that they were no longer looking! I wonder if “they” decided she was the Diversity Tzar and didn’t tell her until after she left. Surely if she really was in the role, we would have seen more of her when Ngozi Fluni was racially insulted by Susan Hussey. Being a black woman (and a very attractive one at that) the royals would have shamelessly paraded her in front of every camera going to let us know they really are “not a racist family.”

Hope she comes out and says “don’t you slander my name”

Welp, I’d say America needs a diversity czar but it’s clear that a good amount of people don’t want one. Just like the royals. And yeah, it’s weird that they’re now saying that’s what she was after the fact. Y’all, I’m truly not okay right now but I’m trying to function and that means reading and commenting on royal stories even though my soul and heart are breaking. I’m in a very red area and it feels lonely af right now.

    • ML says:

Hugs, Jais! It’s not a good or safe feeling when the people around you don’t share your values and feel dangerous. I live in an area that voted for the Dutch fascist.

      • Jais says:

Thx @ML❤️. I keep getting looked at like I’m crazy for crying. And told what’s done is done so no use getting upset about it. And I just…now I’m feeling crazy. I really appreciate you and everyone posting today and lifting spirits as best as we can.

    • AMTC says:

So sorry to hear that JAIS. Some things I have found helpful include completely avoiding any form of news media (CB excepted), listening instead to podcasts on apps like BBC world service about topics that are not overtly political, reading escapist light crime novels like those by Richard Osman, doing some gardening.

Hugs! It’s hard. I want to change my screen name. Is that allowed? I met with a woman today that had to cancel 3 appointments because the news she woke up to put her in a brain frog. Her family came over as immigrants decades ago. Hard working (legalized) people. She/we have the feels for people that just want to live safely.

Keeping a “diversity czar” a secret after the fact is funny.

  3. Eurydice says:

Thanks, I needed a good laugh. I don’t believe for a minute that she was “diversity czar.” At the most, I think this task was tacked onto whatever job she was doing for the past 13 years. Like:

BP: Congrats! You are now diversity czar!
Eva: Oh, is this a promotion?
BP: No, you’ll be doing this along with your other job.
    Eva: Is there more money?
BP: Now Eva, you know we don’t have any money.
Eva: Is there a plan? A goal?
BP: Let this be a challenge for you.
    Eva: *starts updating her resume*

  4. Amy Bee says:

That’s because she wasn’t really the diversity czar. She was Director of Community Engagement, whatever that was. I suspect she left because she was given this new position without any real role. There’s a picture of her hugging Harry in NY so she’s been gone for more than a month. The press only just found out about it.

The uncovering of the Windsors continues

    • Advisor2u says:

I was just gonna say that she was seen in a video running to hug Prince Harry in the corridors of the summit
organised by the Lesotho Royal Family (more so by Her Majesty the Queen Seeiso) during UNGA/ UN Climate week in New York last September.

I believe that after Charles’ people saw the pictures/video of her and Harry hugging at the UN, they pannicked/ were afraid that she might be put in a situation whereby she could be asked question why she left the ‘job’, so they came out with the story that she was the diversity tzar and had quit.

I think they indeed must have blurred the timeline of her quitting; she probably left and has a new job for sometime now; like, at the UN, or at an international org.

      • Agreatreckoning says:

The timeline of “quitting” or leaving employment from the BRF/KP as always been askewed. Melissa Toubatti was “released” from employment Sept. 2018 for malfeasance reasons. That was never revealed until the court case. Nov. 2018 headlines something, something she quit crying in tears and Jason Knauff giving her a big thumbs up.

“Diversity Czar” hugging Harry years later. Good factoid.

  5. MsIam says:

Will there be any stories about how she must have been “bullied” out of her job? I think not.

  6. Bailey A says:

It’s the royal family and the UK media. What they mean is their by Diversity Czar is that their black employee (not in a domestic role) has left her position.
