Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:00
I’ve been dealing with chronic pain. Here’s a link to the tweet I mentioned about that. I watched Agatha All Along and loved it. Chandra doesn’t like Kathryn Hahn, which I understand. Chandra highly recommends the movie Conclave. You can listen below!
Poltics: Minutes 5:00 to 15:00
Trump won the election and it was a shock to put it lightly. We both believed that Kamala Harris was going to win. She ran an impeccable campaign. She was so on message, she was clear about her objectives, she had a literal to-do list and she emphasized inclusion and moving forward together. We’re so disappointed in people. Here’s the tweet from Baltimore’s mayor that I mentioned. We don’t think there’s a way that Kamala could have run a better campaign, she was so disciplined. Here’s a link to Dustin’s article on Pajiba that I mentioned. We’re happy that Kamala won in our state of Virginia.
Royals: Minutes 15:00 to 23:30
Since we last recorded, Charles and Camilla went on an anemic tour of Australia. Prince William went to South Africa for his Earthshot ceremony, tried to look statesman-like and failed. He got booed there. We remember how Camilla spread covid. Chandra mentions that Queen Elizabeth caught covid right after Charles and Camilla did.
Prince Harry and Meghan purchased a villa in Portugal, where Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank live. It turned out that this was a very smart decision, since Trump has threatened to deport Harry. We talk about RFK Jr potentially removing flouride from the drinking water. Trump is credited with helping fund the vaccination rollout, but he can’t take credit for it because his base is antivax. We remember when Trump talked about getting vaccinated and got booed.
Comments on the Week: Minutes 22:30 to end
Chandra’s comment of the week is from Whyforthelove on the post about Kamala Harris losing the election.
My comment of the week is from pottymouth pup on that same post.
Thanks for listening bitches.
I checked my podcast list every Saturday hoping to see if Celebitchy had posted one. I checked this week, but was not optimistic about finding one in the wake of such a disappointing election. I was so grateful you guys had put one together. Your takes are a great comfort and I appreciate you.
Thank you that’s really nice to hear!
So well said Alarmjaguar! This site is, and has been, the saving of my sanity over many years. Every day the lovely writers and bitches here remind me that it is still a good world, and we need to keep fighting. I am so very tired though!
Sending love to you both and all. I really appreciate you guys putting this out so quickly. I also really appreciate how kind of matter of fact yet emotionally open your guys are being in this episode. It kind of helped me over a thing, into a new space of “let’s move on and do my best”. Thank you.
I’m sorry to hear of Celebitchy’s pain! I’m a veteran of the same and oh my goodness, does life improve afterwards. I went through such anger afterwards because I had suffered so much. I stand with you in solidarity.
I loved Agatha all along and Conclave. Both excellent recs. Diplomat season 2 was fun but short. I’m hoping to watch the Martha Netflix doc next. Best health wishes to y’all.
I loved Conclave! The behind the scenes glimpse into the election of the Pope were amazing and Isabella Rosellini stole every scene she was in.
I had to explain the end to my husband – we are olds 😀
Hope you get better soon
Thank you both so much for the podcast and daily grind of posting the (sometimes crap) news here on CB!! This site is one of the first I check in the morning.
Wishing you a super speedy recovery once you have your surgery, Katie! Hope you feel loads better. And thank you for the podcast; I always miss you guys when you take weeks off, but we know you guys work hard to get articles up here on the site and def deserve some time off, especially when there’s tons of news to report on. But it’s always great to hear your podcast!
Love the podcast. I’m so numb from the election, I was worried misogyny would win. Also Oregon resident here whose mail in ballot was not counted. My uncle who’s an indigenous man also had his ballot not counted. I’m mixed with Syrian but look like a white lady who tans mostly. I decided as a disabled, but working gen x, I’m just going to keep my head down. All the idiots who did this are about to get their comeuppance. My little white conservative Christian mom voted for him saying he was framed for his crime.👀 I just can’t with her, I miss my very democratic father. So I just decided no holidays this year, I’ve got no time for people who voted against my well being. It’s all a lot, thanks for your commentary it’s nice to have like minded folks to listen to.
