Angelina Jolie took 16-year-old Knox as her date to the Governors Awards

If you can believe it, Angelina Jolie’s twin babies, her youngest children, turned 16 years old over the summer. Vivienne Jolie (as she calls herself) is a theater geek who was part of a Tony Award-winning production, The Outsiders musical. Meanwhile, Knox hasn’t been involved in much of anything of Angelina’s public life. He’s gone to some of his mom’s premieres over the years, but even Angelina’s biggest fans have no idea what he’s up to or what his interests are. Well, it looks like Knox is like all of the other kids in one way – happy to support his mom on a red carpet! Angelina brought Knox as her date to the Governors Awards last night.

The Governors Awards are where the special, pre-announced Oscars are handed out, like the lifetime achievement (honorary) Oscars and the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award (which Jolie won in 2013). Angelina was there because the Governors Awards are huge for Oscar campaigners, and Angelina is definitely campaigning for Maria. The fact that she gets to show up to premieres and events with her kids is a huge statement too. Knox is a cutie – I’ve seen some sites claim he looks more like Brad, but I don’t see it. As they kids have gotten older, they’ve gotten more of a Jolie/Marchand/Voight look.

Per WWD, Angelina wore a vintage gown which she bought at The Knit Vintage. The Knit Vintage praised Jolie on their social media for choosing a vintage look for an awards show, and they praised her low-key way of stopping into the shop on her own and picking out her own looks without input from a stylist or friend: “What makes this moment the most meaningful for us, is that we know what a true vintage lover, fan, and supporter she is. Every time Angelina shops with us, she comes in on her own. She is very present, engaged, and chooses each piece. There has not ever been a stylist with her to hold her hand or a FaceTime to a friend. It is her surrounding herself with vintage, inspired by what she puts on next.”

  1. Tessa says:

He takes after his mother’s side of the family. Handsome young man.

  2. Mimi says:

Knox looks like the perfect combination of 2 incredibly good looking parents.

  3. Immaculate Misconception says:

Is it just me or does Knox look a lot like Angelina’s brother?

  4. Selene says:

I think he looks just like James Haven, Angelina’s brother. Vivienne looks just like Brad, no Angie in her face at all. Shiloh looks like both.

  5. ncboudicca says:

he does look like both of his parents – definitely see a resemblance to his Uncle James Haven! Wow, I can’t remember the last time I saw a photo of Knox. Good for him that he looks so happy to be at the party and supporting his mom.

  6. ML says:

I feel like it’s been a while since I last saw pictures of Knox, because he’s definitely grown taller and older. I love the way Angelina’s kids support her, it feels really warm.

As to what Knox is wearing: good choice. His mom: nice style, I like that it’s vintage, wrong color and it bites with her jewelry.

  7. Sam says:

He is really cute..cannot believe he is 16 years old now…I am getting old too…can be his mom .
Don’t like Angelina dress but stillshe looks lovely

  8. Jais says:

The jewelry! I actually prefer this lip color to the red. I would actually want that color for myself.

  9. manta says:

I jump on the wagon with those who see her brother.

  10. GrnieWnie says:

I think it was Vivienne that I thought looked like Brad? One of those biokids did. Shiloh looks like the spitting image of a young Jon Voigt.

  11. Bumblebee says:

Knox looks so much like her and thrilled to be there. I like Jolie’s dress, but the color is not for her. Like me, those autumn shades don’t work. She looks great in bold winter colors.

  12. Libra says:

Marcheline, Angles mother, was my first thought.

  13. Alwyn says:

He favors Brad in his expressions but it’s all Angie in looks. Genetically blessed boy. Angie’s hair color is better but the dress is drab.

  14. AlexandraS says:

I really hope this family heals. My husband had a alcohol problem in his last marriage and confesses he was terrible. He did get into a physical altercation with his ex wife in front of their two kids when they were about 7 and 10. We married 5 years after they broke up and we have two kids. Hes a great Dad. His two children from the previous marriage WANT to have a relationship with him even though years ago they told a therapist they hate him, which wasnt really true. They sneak loving messages to my husband behind his exes back However his ex continues to block greater contact and the kids are afraid to go against her. As I said, I hope Brad and Angie come to some kind of peace.

    • Anon says:

Have you considered that brad may not be like your husband? And that Angelina’s children may have too many reasons to avoid contact with him. Or is it just that they are brainwashed by their mother?

    • bergamot says:

I assume you husband did not sue his ex wife and wage a constant tabloid campaign against her for eight years?
I assume your husband is sorry for the behavior in his previous marriage and apologized for mistakes? If that’s true, he is nothing like Brad.

      • Anon says:

I think she assumed Angie was lying. If her husband’s ex lied and turned the kids against him, then all women probably do. And brad is probably an angel in her opinion, just like her husband. Sad.

      • Ivy says:

Right bergamot. Brad is currently still abusing angelina and the kids through the legal system and the media. It took him YEARS to admit he crossed a line and what happened on the plane wasn’t a simple argument. Outside of that he’s constantly lied about his relationship with the kids and pitted the bio kids against the adopted ones.

His “he always wanted a daughter” will always pop in mind when I see him. It is completely understandable alway the kids choose to still have boundaries with him.

    • Jais says:

Well, suing Angelina for years over a vineyard that she initially tried selling back to him doesn’t exactly scream peace. If he’s truly sorry for physically abusing his kids while drunk, he wouldn’t further traumatize them by keeping their mom in court.

    • lanne says:

I have to wonder how much her husband “changed” and how much she’s fooling herself. In any event, her husband got a “do over” with her, and the kids from his first marriage are the “damaged goods.” If she can’t understand why a mother would want to protect kids from a man who got in drunken violent rages in front of the kids, maybe she’s the Ines in their scenario

    • Alwyn says:

@Alexandras. I, too always hope for reconciliation but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Your situation sounds quite unique and possibly maybe not that uncommon among us regular folks. But when you mix celebrity, wealth and public scrutiny, it’s a whole different set of rules. I am a child of divorce and instinctively avoid taking sides because it harbors negative feelings that I’d rather not develop over people I don’t know at all.

    • PinkOrchid says:

Despite the oddly aggressive comments here in response to @AlexandraS, I think we all wish the best for this—and every—broken family, right? May everyone be healed. May those who need to change the things they can dedicate themselves to doing the work. May the relationships of all involved be mended and restored one day. Amen.

  15. Ladiabla says:

He looks like his grandma Marcheline

  16. Amy Bee says:

Knox looks like his mother not Brad.

    • Ivy says:

What a cutie! I also think he looks like her brother and mother. Their genetics are so strong! My siblings and I slightly resemble our parents but nothing like her kids.

  17. VilleRose says:

Wow look at Knox! He’s as tall as Mom now, wonder if he’ll surpass her. I think he looks like both his parents, I see Brad and I see Angelina. And I agree he does look like Angelina’s brother too.

I don’t love Angelina’s dress though it’s cool to know she wore a vintage dress. It’s not something I’d ever pick out at a vintage store. I love her jewelry though!

  18. Kaye says:

Starting Monday on a sappy note: seeing how proud Knox was to support his mother made me cry.

    • ravensdaughter says:

She has been through so much for them, and they have given back her love a thousandfold.
      That’s what happens when you’re a good parent…unlike their other parent…

  19. therese says:

He is so cute and sweet. Obviously a happy kid. He grew up while we weren’t looking being as normal a kid as possible thanks to Angelina’s protection and bravery and being a good mom.
I do think the dress is beautiful. I think gold jewelry or colored jewelry would have been better, but I’m not complaining. She’s doing better with her choices.

  20. Nanea says:

    Knox, what a cutie!

Count me in for another vote for a strong James Haven resemblance, although Knox is a lot better looking.

Fingers crossed for Angie’s Oscar campaign, nomination — and, hopefully, win.

I really like the jewellery, and her lip color.

  21. Diamond Rottweiler says:

I think you can really see the maternal resemblance because it’s such a particular and striking facial structure. Pitt looks like half the guys I went to high school with in Nebraska. Nothing really special beyond basic symmetry and blonde hair.

  22. clove says:

He absolutely looks like James Haven! He can also protect her because he does mix martial arts from what I understand. You can honestly see that her kids love her and I really love that for her, especially since her mother is no longer here!
Years ago, I remember Angelina saying that she could be no one’s mother but she turned into a fabulous one!

I want her to win the Oscar this year!

  23. one of the marys says:

I think he looks like Maddox and their styling is the same. Maybe he emulates his oldest brother’s style

  24. Aidee Kay says:

I like this dress!!! It’s a color other than black and it gives “understated elegance.” And it fits her well. I really appreciate the vintage store worker saying she shops for herself. She’s someone who believes in being fully herself at all times, even though some of us would love for her to work with a gifted stylist who could put her in looks that really “pop” on the red carpet. But I respect her not wanting to go that route.

  25. PinkOrchid says:

Love everything about Angie’s dress—color, fabric, cut, vintage vibes! Not a big “buzz cut” fan, but even minus any flowing locks, Knox is drop dead gorgeous!

  26. tamsin says:

Really like Angelina’s vintage dress. Notice how each of the kids gets time in the public with her. Seems like a good way to handle the family’s celebrity. It also makes her look like a good mom, which I’m sure she is. She seems to encourage each child’s interests and they all seem loyal to her and love her. i once read that Jackie Kennedy said that if you fail at raising your children well, then nothing else you do matters much, or something to that effect. I’m sure Angelina had lots of challenges, but she certainly looks to have taken the raising of her children seriously and found balance in her life.
