Prince Andrew cannot be ‘divorced or sacked’ from his royal-blood relatives

There are eleventy billion stories about Prince Andrew out right now, all about how he was chummy with a Chinese spy and he was selling access to the Windsors and government officials. No one knows how much money Andrew got from this Chinese spy or the extent of Andrew’s relationship with the spy. Weirdly, Buckingham Palace is doing the most to center King Charles in the story. So many of this weekend’s articles came directly from BP courtiers who were spilling tea about how Charles feels about Andrew’s controversy. Like this:

The King is understood to be furious that Prince Andrew has plunged the monarchy into a major scandal – with his relationship with an alleged Chinese spy tarnishing the reputation of the entire Royal Family. A source, however, said that, despite his frustration with the Duke of York, Charles has accepted that he can’t ‘divorce or sack’ his younger brother, as ‘there will always be a bond of blood’.

It came as this newspaper learnt that, astonishingly, the Palace is unable to rule out that the Duke is using money from Chinese donors to support his stay in the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor Park. Officials have concluded they have no authority or legal right to probe Andrew’s financial affairs and must simply rely on his word that his income is from legitimate sources.

‘The Palace has behaved the best it possibly can with a difficult relation,’ the source said last night. ‘Every sanction that can be imposed has been, but you can’t divorce or sack your brother from being your brother. There will always be a bond of blood and all families often have difficult relatives to deal with. Of course it is understood that it looks bad for the entire family but that is because of one individual.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Tell me more about the bond of blood and the king’s refusal to divorce himself from a blood relative, when just days earlier, the same king was ensuring that everyone knew that he did not invite his son Prince Harry to Christmas. A royal source told Richard Eden at the Mail: “Relations between Harry and his family are not sufficiently close for an invitation to be sent. It’s very sad that things are that bad. We know that Harry wants to mend fences, but there is an awfully long way to go.” All because Harry married a Black woman, wrote a bestseller and never came crawling back, divorced and broke. But when Andrew is doing business with a Chinese spy, suddenly blood is thicker.

Meanwhile, sources now claim that Andrew is considering a move – to Abu Dhabi. Princess Beatrice was recently in Abu Dhabi and now sources are saying that her visit was “cover” and Andrew is “looking at moving there permanently. He’s desperately trying to get something going to make some money.” Spain’s King Juan Carlos moved to Abu Dhabi when he was being investigated for all of his money laundering and fraud. I don’t think Andrew will do the same, but it’s interesting that someone is throwing this narrative out there.

As if the ‘bond of blood’ has ever meant anything to this family. Read: Harry has already put everything out there that the Windsors could be afraid of the world knowing. Whereas, Andrew still has stories he could tell. Andrew’s list of unsavory associates is long, yet he’s still a royal, and hasn’t been thrown out of the house his mom gifted to him.

    • And yet they are more than willing to cut Harry loose and make him unsafe. Guess it all depends on what blood bond they are speaking of.

    • A says:

I’m pretty sure the issue here is not hat “Andrew still has stories to tell”….but that more or less Andrew hasn’t done anything that all the rest of the so called “working” royals haven’t done before! If Charles were to go out of his way to punish Andrew and it later comes out (by way of a non -rota reporter and/or a “source” close to Andrew) that he and/or his idiot heir essentially did the same thing. Charles will look like a bigger weaker hypocrite than he already is!

Although technically there were 400 pages cut from Spare so Harry could tell more…
Harry and Andrew both have more stories. Andrew has yet to tell one that we know of. Imagine if he told just one. That blood brother argument would go up in smoke.

Didn’t they say that PA’s ability to pay for Royal Lodge WAS legal? That’s different than what’s being said here: “Officials have concluded they have no authority or legal right to probe Andrew’s financial affairs and must simply rely on his word that his income is from legitimate sources.”
Then, clearly, someone must look into where PA’s funding comes from and how he got it. Randos aren’t lining up to fund him for nothing.
Of course, we cannot “simply rely on his word” when KC infers blood is thicker than water. PA’s biographer indicated that other royals are possibly giving spies access to their network. Given Harry’s uselessness for spies, is KC’s bizarre lenient behavior here with PA due to the fact that he too is providing spies access?

  3. Tessa says:

Charles and the media very apparently use Harry and Meghan to distract from Andrew. But this strategy of Charles is a major fail.

  4. Tessa says:

Yet Charles “sacked” Harry and his family.

  5. BeyondTheFringe says:

It would be the LEAST surprising thing related to the RF if Andrew does end up in Abu Dhabi.

  6. Amy Bee says:

But Charles has no qualms about cutting off his son. I think besides marrying a black woman, Harry’s major sin is the lawsuits against the press and his refusal to drop them.

    • Jais says:

Yeah this whole welcoming of the blood brother while cutting off his blood son is gross. And by that token isn’t Harry William’s blood brother. So what happened there😂

    • Hypocrisy says:

Reading this made me nauseous, a king who stands by his brother who raped trafficked minors and actively helps a Chinese spy should be investigated because the only reason a HoS would defend and stand by him is if he was involved in the same crimes. If I were the Sussex’s I would be grateful my children would never be alone with these predators for their own safety.

  7. Lady Digby says:

RF should be held to same code of conduct and level of scrutiny that other tax funded public servants are. Chuck and Will : cash for access, Harrods bags stuffed full of cash, honours for sale? Transparency about the acceptance of freebies such as holidays. Both King and heir should be worried because Andrew should NOT be considered in isolation. Their conduct and contact with others also needs to be open and transparent. Tabs joke about Beckham grovelling and eager attendance at royal events in hopes of a knighthood makes it clear there is a coralation between royal proximity and public recognition.

  8. Saucy&Sassy says:

King Snubby is a hypocrite. Shock!!!! (s/)

  9. JFerber says:

Why not? Harry divorced the royals.

  10. Vuyelwa Ncube says:

Telling the truth will get you divorced or a campaign to strip you of your birth right
    This family is insane
