Angelina Jolie opened her Los Feliz home to friends evacuating the LA fires

Soon after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, she bought a house in the Los Feliz area of LA. It’s a huge, historic mansion and it was built for Cecil B. DeMille. We learned later that Brad wouldn’t even allow Angelina and the kids to pack their things and move out of the home(s) he owned, so Angelina and the kids really had to start fresh in their new Los Feliz home. In recent years, she’s started spending more time in New York, so much so that I’ve wondered if she will switch coasts at some point. But for now, she’s still based in LA, and she’s in a neighborhood which hasn’t been placed under evacuation orders for the Southern California wildfires. So she’s hosting friends and family at her place:

Angelina Jolie is doing what she can to help others amid the series of wildfires that are devastating California. A source tells PEOPLE that the actress, 49, has opened her home to friends who had to evacuate the Los Angeles area this week.

“Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes, or are impacted by the fires,” the source says.

“She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate,” they add.

The L.A. wildfires began in the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, Jan. 7. It is reportedly one of the most destructive in Los Angeles’ history. As many as 10,000 structures, including homes and offices, have been destroyed between the Palisades fire and Eaton fires, which are taking place in Pasadena, according to officials, per CNN.

[From People]

Angelina Jolie, the woman who spent decades as an advocate for refugees around the world, is hosting environmental refugees at her house. We’ve been hearing a lot of two stories in Hollywood: the people who have lost their homes and the people who have not lost their homes so they’re opening up their places to friends and evacuees.

The Daily Mail also found Angelina and Knox leaving a grocery store on Friday – they were loading the car with water and essentials, and the Mail videographer asked her if she was concerned about the fires. She said: “We’re having people at our house.” The guy asked her if she planned to donate, and she said, “Yeah I will, right now I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house.”

With so much negativity surrounding this whole situation, awful people pointing fingers and trying to create unnecessary drama, it’s great to see that yes there are good people out there who will always help. Angelina is a mensch of a woman. 🙂

  2. Amy Bee says:

But according to some people Angelina doesn’t have any friends. Anyway not surprised by this at al and it would have been great if the paparazzi had left her and Knox alone.

  3. K says:

Jesus god these freaking reporters up in people’s faces in the middle of disasters. I get reporting on the fires, damages and update reports but stop staking out victims and celebs in the midst of trying to help. Ghouls…

    • Bumblebee says:

Exactly! Did you see that reporter trying to interview Dennis Quaid as he was loading his car to evacuate? Flames were in the background!

    • Lucy2 says:

I saw some clip of a guy rather flippantly asking Jennifer Garner about the friend of hers who died. It’s awful.
Good for Angelina for helping friends. I am sure there’s so much of that going on, with the huge amount of people needing to evacuate, anyone opening their home to friends, family, or strangers is great for helping.

  4. Jais says:

BP didn’t even let them pack their stuff? Huh. I hadn’t even remembered that. Geez. These wildfires are heartbreaking.

  5. Pret says:

Every celebrity who has made a comment about this fire, whether it was about how it started and how it was handled, what they lost or didn’t lose, and most importantly, What They’re Doing To Help, is going to receive criticism.

  6. Mireille says:

For media questioning celebrities donating, Angelina ain’t the one. For decades, she donated her time and millions to charities and humanitarian efforts. Now, she’s fighting her ex on financial issues. Whatever she can do for people affected by the wildfires, brava. I can think of other celebrities and billionaires who can do more if they wanted.

    • Clove says:

      @Mireille Exacy!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

To all the people that love to report that she doesn’t have any friends we’ve long said BS to that!

  7. PersephonePi says:

Quite right, Mireille. There several high-profile billionaires whom we have yet to hear from. One whose name starts with E and ends in “Lon Musk” is worth over 400 billion dollars, if reports are to be believed. Now, I believe that people can do with their earned wealth what they want, but if they’re going to try and hijack American political policy they can contribute to American communities. If they’re are sitting on a massive fortune and choose to do nothing to help those in desperate need we can choose to think they are despicable human trash cans whose wealth would be put to better use in someone else’s hands. “I have all this money and I have no idea what to do with it. I guess I’ll go to space! Nothing else to use it for…”

Very interesting that nobody has slammed her for her opening her home to friends who had to evacuate due to the fire like they did to Meghan. Just shows that hate runs deep. I applaud both Angelina and Meghan and Harry for what they are doing to help
