Prince Andrew was unsurprisingly welcome at the Windsors’ Easter outing

For Easter Sunday, all of King Charles’s siblings came out for the service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. Neither of Charles’s sons came out, but hey, Charles got to see his brother Prince Andrew, who actually made it out for a “family occasion.” Andrew notably skipped Christmas at Sandringham last year, as did Fergie, but they both came out for Easter with their daughters and their daughters’ husbands. The Yorks and the Edinburghs were the most well-represented, actually – Sophie and Edward brought their son James, but it looks like Lady Louise was able to skip (she’s in college, maybe she was on vacation with friends). By the way, James might end up being one of the tallest of QEII’s grandkids. He’s now towering over his father and mother.

Anyway, as for the Yorks… I expected Andrew to eventually come to another royal event, and Easter is easiest for him since he lives right there at Royal Lodge. The message is the same as it’s always been: Charles and Andrew are mostly fine with each other, despite briefings to the contrary. Charles briefs everyone that he’s taking a hard line with Andrew and he’s really going to evict Andrew and then… nothing happens and Andrew is invited to the next holiday. I also think Charles appreciates the fact that Andrew’s daughters always welcome invitations to family events, much more so than William and Kate. Also: Andrew has gained so much weight in the past year.

Fashion notes… Beatrice wore a green Beulah London dress which looks a lot like several pieces in Kate’s wardrobe. I actually love Eugenie’s white trench coat from Reiss and her purse – which looks like a paper grocery bag – is really cool. Fergie wore Veronica Beard, and Sophie’s coat is Alaïa. Sophie is really overdressed, literally – she’s swimming in all of that fabric.

Sophie outfit was an odd choice. I liked Eugenie outfit. Seems a really scaled down event with not as many family members. Charles of course welcomes Andrew. Ferg ie has no pride trailing after her ex. Charles had no intention of evicting Andrew. But punishes harry and meghan.

  2. StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

The Wales again snubbed by king & queen. Remind me when they were together, I can’t remember – (premenopause…)

What with sophie always wearing dresses at ankle length?

  3. Yellow lights says:

Bea seems to like to repliKate, maybe to keep in the good books.

Eug looks good except the veil which gives a 60 + yr old 2nd or 3rd marriage vibe.

I thought Andrew had lost some weight and he looked bigger before qe2 died?

    • Eurydice says:

Yes, I think he’s lost weight, too. In the second photo, his jacket looks baggy – also, wrinkled, like it was crammed in the back of the closet. He probably lives in his pajamas now.

  4. Jan says:

Randy Andy looks like he lost weight to me. He has the same stubby fingers like Chucky.

    • WaterDragon says:

+Maybe Fergie has been helping him with his skin care. I think his face looks 10 years younger and thinner, too.

    • Barrett says:

I am appalled by Andy’s behavior. He’s a spoiled brat. But I’ve been wondering w VGuiffe getting some odd press ab saying she is in renal failure if people in Britain would lean into that he was framed. People oddly resurrect people over time though I think Charles is more likely to still keep Andy at a distance of the monarch.

  5. Mego says:

They all look relaxed, maybe they like the wails not being there. Of course they brought andrew, still the worst.

    • Amy Bee says:

I’ve always suspected that most of family don’t like William and Kate but they tolerate them because William’s the heir and eventually will be holding the purse strings.

  6. Amy Bee says:

Prince Andrew serves a very important purpose as Charles’ scapegoat now that Harry and Meghan are not there and don’t talk to him. That’s part of the reason he keeps Andrew around.

  7. somebody says:

Andrew and Fergie are maybe transactional to get Bea and Eugenie to have some younger people? I think Eugenie is a soft touch anyway. She seems like a people pleaser. I bet James will follow in his sister’s footsteps and opt out when he has the chance. He has always seemed sort of reserved during these events. The only thing that would drum up much interest or make them seem exciting would be if Bea and Eug brought their children since they aren’t seen much.

  8. garrity says:

Eug’s obvious sortorial shout-out to Meghan is so charming. That white trench . . . a little unmissable callback to Meg at the Jubbly, permaybehaps? (She also wears it with panache – she has a little swagger that reminds me of her dad.) If so it very much said “I too am a baddie and I’ll do what I choose.”

She and Bea really used their outfits to declared their allegiances and goals very clearly for Wills.

    • Chrissy says:

Unfortunately William is too dumb to notice anything so subtle. IMO Eugenie looks the best, Beatrice looks like she always does 🤷. As always, I really don’t like her hat game. It always reminds me of Anne Boleyn’s go to hats!

  9. Alicky says:

Sophie’s coat is enormous and several inches too long.

  10. The pedo on display along with the rest of the very boring family.

    • Tessa says:

Andrew has no shame and there is no talk of taking away his titles
      Typical of this dysfunctional family

    • Debbie says:

Why wouldn’t the BRF keep Andrew around and why should he feel any shame? After all, what did Andrew do that was so bad? He only groped his own daughter in public, at his own mother’s funereal. Oh, and there’s also that incident with Virginia. Bygones.

      • Libra says:

“That incident with Virginia” brings back a question never answered; where were all the other young girls also sold to Andrew?? Privately handled perhaps with cash and an NDA? Sorry ,this is off topic.

  11. Jais says:

Eugenie does look good in the white trench coat. I like Beatric’e green but I remain baffled by those headband things. Do I think they’re kind of quirky cute or ridiculous and not cute. I think I lean towards the latter but am trying to be open-minded.

  12. JenCF says:

Sophie always overdoes the modest Royal look. That Alaia coat is kinda fabulous, and just needed a simple, jewel neckline under it, not what appears to be a collared, ankle-length frock.

  13. MSJ says:

So Andrew was persona non grata for Christmas mass in December but he is embraced in April for Easter mass. 🤦‍♀️

The crazy media gymnastics 🤸‍♀️ last December was quite a spectacle in contortions of royal proportions. Those people are so blatantly hypocritical I can see why they have been so spectacularly good at colonization. They flaunt their hypocrisy and the people that support them contort themselves mentally to make it acceptable. The supremacy of that family is a construct that is well reinforced by the media propaganda. They have no shame for their seediness because their subjects and supporters are encouraged to accept the seediness. 🤮 Ladies and gentlemen, that is the British Royal Family. The epitome of British culture and society!!! Dress them up in some dignified outfits and they will shine and erase the stench. 🤷‍♀️

    • Me at home says:

Charles probably needed warm bodies and without Andrew he wouldn’t have been able to reel in Fergie, Bea or Eugenie. Without the Yorks, it would have been Anne, Edward, Sophie and James, a pretty small and uninteresting group. I like Annem, and at least Sophie at least has a work ethic, but is Sophie cosplaying Victorian era dress?

      • Libra says:

Warm bodies, yes. Without Andrew and his family it would not have been so obvious that William and Kate were missing. Message sent.

      • MSJ says:

        @me at home
Nothing between December and April has happened to improve Andrew’s seediness. In fact more seedy information has been revealed about him since December. Yet in December he was persona non grata and in April he is embraced. Beatrice and her husband attended mass in December without Andrew present so I think she would have also attended this time too. Also, both Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands attended the pre-Christmas luncheon without Andrew which leads me to think Eugenie and her husband likely would have attended Easter mass even if Andrew wasn’t there.

I believe you are well intended in trying to explain why Andrew was invited. It reinforces my point about the royal family’s seediness and lack of shame. Their media buddies made a big deal about why Andrew should be shunned in December but they are fine with him being embraced in April despite more recent seedy revelations about his past being revealed recently. Andrew’s presence at Easter mass is projected as acceptable by the media and that’s why people find reasons to accept his presence there. The media shapes the mindset of the people. That’s why there is an invisible contract between the royal family and the media. When the media wants to remind the royal family of the power of the pen 🖊 , they write critical articles about them which rebalances the arrangement between them.

      • Murphy says:

Fergie would show up to ANYTHING Charles asked her to. Regardless of Andrew.

      • Me at home says:

@MSJ, I completely agree Andrew is a seedy pedo who doesn’t deserve to be treated as a welcome family member in public, and maybe I should have spelled that out in my post. Sorry you took my post differently.

      • MSJ says:

        @me at home

I greatly appreciate healthy discourse about the royal family’s seedinesses and how the media manipulates the public when reporting on the royals. When they want people to overlook the seediness, they direct the public’s attention with sugary articles towards the royal fashion (dignified outfits) and/or the innocent children 🧒 👦 👧 to promote wholesome family values. It’s a well designed tactic that has time and time again worked to uphold the royal family as the epitome of British culture and society. The media and the royal family have a mutually beneficial arrangement 🤝.

As a member of the public, I find it interesting to observe and analyze their movements in their partnership with the media and marvel at how they continue to maintain a stronghold on the minds and lives of their British subjects and people in formerly colonized nations.

  14. Blogger says:

So these are the financially-dependent members of the family. Chuck pays for their living, security etc, they walk for the photo-op.

    • Yellow lights says:

      @blogger, don’t forget the tax payers 😉

      • Blogger says:

        Naturally 😂

These welfare dependent Windsors, they really need to make their own way in life…like Harry.

See Windsors? Look at Harry! He’s broken free and making his way through life without needing taxpayer money.

    • Jes says:

So what is Annes arrangement? Is this why zara and that whole side do shady deals? Never on the purse strings?

      • Libra says:

Anne’s 2 children and their spouses live on her estate, which affords them security and no cost for lodging. It has been printed that she has structured her privately owned estate to be inherited by her children tax free as it’s a business entity, horse breeding, races etc. She has taken steps to ensure her childrens future independent of William and his purse strings. They need those side deals now for financial support.

  15. Whalesnark says:

Some will find this quite relatable. Many people choose to or are forced to invite Uncle Perv to family occasions.

  16. IdlesAtCranky says:

Eugenie looks lovely, except for that silly veil. She’s dressing better for her body type but still doesn’t do hats well.

Beatrice seems to have never figured out how to dress for her body. That dress is too tight and a terrible bodice for someone with an actual figure (get rid of the puffed shoulders and the high neckline!), the color is dreadful, and the matchy strap shoes cut her leg line off short. As usual her hat is useless as well.

Andrew? The day I never see that sullen entitled face again it will be much too soon.

  17. Shanta says:

I loved Eugenie’s bag. Super cute, and i loved her coat. Beatrice looks very put together, such an improvement. And James is super tall. He’s taller than both Harry and willie. He needs a sandwich or two…. Super thin.

    • Bean says:

He’s growing like a weed – at that age and growth spurt they’re always hungry and always thin. I have a 15 year old who is the exact same.

  18. Lady Digby says:

I wonder if any extended family gatherings will occur under King Billy? Andrew and Fergie know the score with KC. He has to huff and puff for the tabs about his brother but they are birds of a feather. I wonder how everybody present here views the future with Aston Villa Willy in charge? Will they be left alone to carry on but absolutely no perks or extras because Will resents spending on anybody else? Can’t see him hosting them at Balmoral etc., Willy is lazy, angry and mean so none of the family want to be beholden to him.It won’t just be Andrew and Fergie sent into exile if he wants RL!

    • Jaded says:

I agree. Maybe I’m being overly optimistic but I think, once king, he’ll become so arrogant, intractable and temperamental that the family dynamic will crumble. He’ll become the family pariah and nobody will want to be anywhere near him and his equally difficult wife. She was horrible enough to Meghan when she was still only Duchess of Cambridge (“You don’t know me well enough to make jokes about baby brain!!”…”Where are our Easter gifts?!?!”), can you imagine how insufferable she’ll be as Queen?

      • Libra says:

I look for Anne or Andrew to head the family. (Not Edward, he and Sophie are William’s boot lickers.) Without one of those two taking the helm, the family dynamic will crumble, as you point out. Fergi e would absolutely love the role as family matriarch and might do very well.

      • Tessa says:

Ferg ie cannot be matriarch unless she and Andrew remarry. Even then It would be a farce and signal what Andrew did was ok an association with Epstein and ghislaine was thought by them fine and dandy. Fergie was friendly with ghislaine and epstein. Fergie messed things up for years. Certainly this would abolish the monarchy. Anne is recovering from a serious injury.

    • Tessa says:

Fergie is divorced royal though she and Andrew co patented the York princesses

  19. Durga says:

Not exactly the glam squad. They all look the wallpaper in an old man’s bedroom.
