Gary Coleman freaks out on The Insider

I usually avoid Gary Coleman stories like the plague, just because I feel bad for the little guy, and I can’t get it in my head that he’s not a child, he’s actually a grown man with rage issues. But, I’m covering it because CB’s computer is throwing a hissy fit, and speaking of hissy fits (nice, huh?), Gary threw a major one on The Insider yesterday. Gary was asked if he had an abusive relationship with his wife, probably because in January he was arrested again for assaulting his wife Shannon Price. Gary at first denies it, and then the temper tantrum happens.

I’m watching the video now, and I kind of think “I DON’T WAFFLE” should be made into a t-shirt. And seriously, if you’re really mad as someone, why tell them to “drown yourself in the ocean”? I can think of much better insults, like the classic “f-ck off and die” or “eat sh-t, motherf-cker.” Gary’s hissy hit is almost quaint. Like, old-timey. “Hey there, young fella, why don’t you take your pantaloons back to the brothel, you big so-and-so!” Oh, wait… Gary does say “go f-ck yourself”. Good for him. I mean, sure, I guess he abused his wife, and that’s horrible, but at least he doesn’t have temper tantrums with old-fashioned insults.

  1. Shannon says:

He clearly has issues with women. Look at how easily he becomes rage-filled when confronted about his behavior. I don’t know if that kind of rage extends to men, but given the fact that he was arrested for assaulting his wife, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s an abuser.

His comment about his size compared to his wife’s was flimsy at best. The fact that he’s small could actually fuel his feelings of inadequacy and his Napoleon complex, and make him more violent. Hitting people would make him feel manly and powerful. And that’s what abuse is about – power.

  2. Kimberly says:

He could have gone about it differently as far as defending himself goes , but those people we’re just so hell bent on making him react like that . and when he blows they act like “YOU SEE ?!” .

I’d be getting pissed off too if they were unnecessarily ganging up on me like that .

  3. Fred says:

Who is that lady, the police? That wasn’t journalism, that was blatant provocation. I’d have gotten pissed off, too, if they were “interviewing” me like that.

Good for Gary for leaving the set.

  4. bros says:

Apart from his problem with women and the old story of his size.I think old age could also be a problem for Gary.

  5. Snarf says:

    Angry little hobgoblin, isn’t he?

  6. Not a Fan of GC says:

    LOL Snarf!!!!!

  7. wif says:

@Snarf, OMG that made me laugh!

  8. GatsbyGal says:

Every time I try to wrap my mind around how Gary Coleman, the personified joke, abused his wife, the only thing I can think of is the image of her standing over him with her arm extended out and her hand pressing against his forehead. And Gary’s swinging his little fists and missing her comically like it’s an episode of Looney Tunes.

  9. Spooge says:

I usually can’t stand the little twerp but in this case she was purposely provoking him and pushing his buttons to get him angry on camera. If she’d talked to me like that about my wife I’d probably tell her to go f herself and walk off the show too.

  10. Lola says:

Have you seen his wife? She’s soooo much bigger than him and looks mean as hell. She makes fun of him every chance she gets and has never even slept with him. I think it’s way more likely that she abuses him.

  11. Eden says:

She was purposely provoking him for sure..but when you squeeze an orange, orange juice comes out..Gary got squeezed and what came out was what was in there to begin with…rage. He had a temper tantrum on t.v.
He is obviously unstable and her antagonizing him wasn’t kind at all, but it’s not like she ambushed him on the street. He knew why he was there and could not control himself even though he was in a setting where he knew he was going to be questioned…he exposed himself terribly. Oh,so sad to watch. Very disturbing.

  12. TxGal says:

I don’t know Gary Coleman is a weird little guy. How long has he been in this business not to know what to expect? Especially if he knows buttons are going to be push. If he can’t handle the situation than he should not be showing up for interviews.

  13. gg says:

I saw him and his wife on some tv court show awhile back and am shocked they are still together. All they do is fight.

  14. kaligula says:

cheap shot. he’s obviously an easy target and she set out to provoke him from the beginning. he deserves sympathy and therapy and she deserves to be fired.

  15. canadianchick says:

He shouldve said “what you talkin’ about Willis!?” and kept his cool. Just because you’re being baited doesn’t mean you take the bait.

  16. yae says:

This show wanted to set him off for the entertainment and then look fake-shocked about it. For a psychologist “expert” to be in on it is just about as low as it gets.

I’d be terrified to be this guys patient. What a quack.

    That was disgusting.

  17. Aspie says:

The whole show is a set up and the panelists are there to create drama and provoke the show’s guests.

It’s a disgusting show to watch and it’s sad that Gary wasn’t able to control his anger more effectively so that he didn’t fall prey to their immature and low-class style of “journalism”.

  18. Anastasia says:

Ok I’m no fan of Gary Coleman’s but that show was RIDICULOUS. Yeah, let’s bring the little guy with anger issues on and have an attorney get up in his face and provoke him. Then when he DOES explode, say “see?”

Then to have a psychologist on to say that was ok????

What was Niecey Nash doing there? I bet that embarrassed her, she has more sense than that.

  19. Tazina says:

The way they were goading him, no respect for him whatsoever. The woman he swore at deserved to be told off….what an annoying excuse for a news person she is.

  20. Kitty2000 says:

I loved the way the woman emotionally says “Wow, that was hard to watch” after the tirade. Like they weren’t all high fiving themselves on the inside for getting exactly the reaction they wanted. Sure, he reacted badly but that woman ‘interviewing’ him was an ass.

  21. Katija says:

I do think he hit his wife. I think he has anger issues.

Still, I don’t think he did any legitimate damage. He’s the size of a nine year-old-boy.

  22. ThunderC*nt says:

Lisa Bloom is as grating as her mother, Gloria Allred and shouldn’t try to wear light blond hair with her olive complexion and dark brown eyes. There’s another place in the world for them. Not the U.S. of A.

  23. Lway says:

    @ Kaiser – LOL!

  24. dalton frye says:

hi i’m only 13 years of age and i can see that the lady was to hard on him. if the man is that upset you dont keep asking, you calm him down. And that is not what she did. no offence to her but for the future refrance….lay off
