For all you can say about Chris Brown (arrogant, lacking understanding of the consequences of his actions, etc.), he’s fulfilling his court-ordered duties without a hitch. Lindsay Lohan has ditched her alcohol education classes multiple times, but Chris Brown has attended every single one of his domestic violence education sessions. He’s also doing the hard labor he initially complained about for his community service requirements and is receiving praise for it. The judge in his domestic violence case said that Brown has progressed well when Brown showed up for a review.
At a progress review Thursday, L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia M. Schnegg praised the singer, who personally appeared in court, saying, “Looks like you’re doing really, really well [fulfilling your probation terms]. That’s always good to see.”
The singer, so far, has completed 17 out of 52 group sessions for domestic violence and hasn’t missed one. The judge added that Brown has so far completed 32 days of hard labor. He received similar praise from the judge at his last progress review in November.
Brown, 20, was sentenced last August to six months of community labor for his felony assault on Rihanna, 21, which amounts to more than 1,400 total hours of washing cars, removing graffiti and cleaning and maintaining grounds in his home state of Virginia.
He was also sentenced to five years probation, a year of domestic violence classes and ordered not to contact Rihanna for the next five years. He has publicly apologized for his actions.
Friends of Brown’s say the singer has been getting his life and career back on track. “He’s in good spirits,” says MTV’s Sway Calloway. “He’s been doing work and speaking in circles with people who also have been victimized by domestic violence.”
“He’s learned that when you’re a celebrity, public perception is fragile,” Calloway adds. “But I think he’ll recover. He’s a good dude who made a big mistake.”

Chris is “speaking in circles with people who also have been victimized by domestic violence“? Good for him I guess, but I’m skeptical of this news because I think it would have been much more widely reported. This kid isn’t going to pass up a chance at good PR.
So will Chris re-gain a significant portion of the fame and success he enjoyed before he choked, bit and sucker-punched his famous girlfriend? He did tell the music industry to
kiss his ass after his latest CD tanked and failed to sell out even small venues on his recent tour. I’m guessing he has to do a lot more than fulfilling his court-ordered requirements. Hollywood accepted Roman Polanski back though, so it’s possible that angry Chris will be all over the airwaves again soon.
He is young, stupid and haves a bad temperament , but hopefully he will learn.
I have to say I like his new song “Crawl” but I’m not going to buy his album.
At least he is making an effort. Good for him!
Um, 2 things:
1. Since when has “speaking in circles” been a good thing?
2. What is up with the BC glasses?
Buy his album or not, i only wish him well. Hope he comes out of dis a better man. He has great talent, he is young, nd hopefully will not be held 2 dis stupid thing he did for the rest of his life.
He’s still a terrible person and I hope his next couple CDs tank so he’ll just vanish already.
Funny how Charlie Sheen held a knife to his wife’s neck on Christmas day, threating to kill her with their twins present and he gets a big fat check. His show goes on without any kind of an interruption.
Sheen didn’t even apologise and don’t show any signs of being sorry. Has abused multiply women in different ways all through his past life.
I felt Sheen paid his pr team to trash his wife.
Here is a young man that did not lie and make any excuses, he apologised.
He did not try to get out of his court-ordered duties.
You think it may be time to give Brown a break. You can always nail him to the cross next time he lift his hands to any women.
Charlie Sheen is still being given multiple chances. I’ll bet you Sheen will get away with this abuse charge to.
