I wasn’t even going to write about this, but then I looked at these photos very carefully, and I grew disturbed. This is Renee Zellweger at the closing ceremony of the Berlin Film Festival, where she was a judge. Previously, we’ve seen photos of Renee in Berlin where she seemed to be sporting some kind of bump/bloat/baby/extra poundage. I had high hopes that Renee was stopping with the emaciated look and actually eating the occasional carb, but it seems that within a week in Berlin, Renee dropped whatever that “extra” weight was and she’s back to looking very, very thin. So thin that the oversized sleeves on her dress look to be about the same width as her chest. For goodness sake, Renee!
The Daily Mail calls this a “batwing dress” but I think of it more like a throwback to the 19th century of something. I just don’t get the movement for such disproportionate volume in dresses. Everything’s happening in the sleeves, and nowhere else – just Renee’s tiny little waist, hips and legs looking dwarfed by her enormous arms. It’s strange. Also, if you’re going to wear something so fashion-y, why not take the time to do your hair? From the neck up, Renee looks like she was just running around, doing errands.
Oh, yeah, and about the Berlin Film Festival… Roman Polanski won Best Director at the festival, for his film The Ghost. Obviously, he was not there to actually accept the award, but it’s just one more signal that the film community is pretty much on Polanski’s side. I wonder if Renee voted for him? I wonder if Renee knows where she is?

Her overall look seems like she just rolled out of bed. Dress looks like she wrapped her blanket around her, brushed her hair and walked the red carpet.
She always looks like sort of a mess. I remember how cute she was in Jerry Maguire, but it’s sort of been downhill since then, hasn’t it?
That dress is pretty silly.
Whatever salesman told her that dress looked great laughed all the way to the bank.
I like the dress, but it should be a titch longer to cover up those dangerously sharp kneecaps!

Why why why do women pose like the way she is doing in the 2nd header pic/ Its the ugliest thing to do with your arms and she just looks J-lo-trying-too-hard-pose-ish. And the shadow of her left leg makes her right leg look weird, like its abnormally shaped.
There’s just too much of something wrong with the dress to make it work and I wonder: did this dress have more on the bottom when it was first made and Renee just had it altered for her? Some chicks do that if they feel a dress isnt short/tight/just right.
Yes, thank GOD for the press, now she looks merely anorexic, which is a problem of hers. I’m sure all that preggers talk got her sticking her finger down her throat again.
Why can’t the media shut up about weight gain of any sort. It’s ridiculous. The Gwyneth Paltrow entry is equally ridiculous. She doesn’t look fat she finally looks healthy.

It’s like she’s squeezing her waist to emphasize how thin it is… Cool. Not.
It always seems like she forgot her face. Every single carpet, I swear… She gets a high fashion dress and poses so hard you can see the tension, but her hair is all mussed like it hasn’t seen a brush in days and her makeup is like an afterthought. I think she when she pours over her own pics after the event (you know she does!) she doesn’t even look above the neck. She just clean forgets.
Someone feed her a sandwich, and sit on her until it’s digested so she can’t go throw it up.

The dress seems specifically designed to make her look as skinny as possible on the bottom half, even at the cost of looking terrible.
Her puffy cheeks make me think she’s struggling with Bulimia. God, I hope that’s not true.
She’s actually a great actress, too bad we’re even discussing this.
She doesn’t look emaciated, this is HER body type! She seems like a vata dosha (like me) and we are naturally slim and bony.
I suspect overweight people are trying to make themselves feel better by criticizing people like SJP and Renee, (although I have to agree that maybe Rachel Zoe has an eating disorder).
I never thought she looked pregnant. Her dress was a little too tight and it wasn’t flattering in the stomach area. I don’t like the pregnancy speculation thing when someone gains (or it appears they have gained) a couple of pounds. IMO, it’s stupid.
I like Renee but this dress is Plain Awful!
Well don’t throw things at me, but I like this dress. I love the shoes.
Yet I think a nice sheer pair of hose would have soften the look of her legs and helped minimize the bony protruding knees.
I suspect the hair issue with her is about being a natural blonde with very fine soft hair. It is incredibly hard to work with.
But with the money she has, Rene should purchase herself a nice wiglet/fall for red carpet affairs. I am sure Beyonce could hook her up with a great wig maker. 🙂
To the writer commenting that folks thinking she is skinny are overweight and jealous, first, I’m not. And 2nd, this is not her natural weight. I think her form of eating issues are diff. from Zoe in that she over-exercises and limits calories instead of just not eating. No-one has mentioned this, but I think the reason her face isn’t as gaunt as it normally would be at that weight, is fillers…..her cheeks look to full for her size. I say that from experience; I hated my skinny face so I did what I think she has done.
I like the dress, too. The sleeves are a little intense, but it is interesting.

she looks like she’s going to topple over with those sleeves. as for the teeny tiny “bump” i’m sure she looked at the scale, saw she gained 4 ounces and ran to the pharmacy for the german equivalent of ex-lax.
Very unfortunate. Since she actually does not have womanly hips left (hers are the same width as her waist now and thus she’s a pole)she is trying to create the illusion by strategically placing her hands… Whoever told her that dress looks great on her should be slapped on the fingers!
Renee is thin and she’s always been thin. I think most people remember her from Bridget Jones and think maybe she was closer to her “natural” weight then because she went so far in the opposite direction afterwards (especially after that first film, yeesh-she looked terrible then).
But she has a boy’s body. I was watching the special features on “Chicago” and saw her rehearsing and she has no breast tissue to speak of and has no waist to speak of either. She’s just shaped like a man; which is why she wears such obnoxious fashions. I suspect it’s to distract from her manly figure.
She’s in fine shape, in my opinion. I also think that some people, not all people but some definitely, who criticize thin women and say that they are too thin and aren’t “normal” sized feel uncomfortable in their own bodies so they come down on people in better shape than they are.
Poor thing was probably just bloated and not pregnant. She is trying to cover up her stomach here like shes emabarrassed people thought a normal pooch meant she was preggers.
The material is beautiful and the dress is pretty, but I wonder if it would look better without the puffy sleeves.I like the shoes, but the hair and make-up are way too casual. I understand she doesn’t want an obvious “do”, but I think in this case, she should have had used a comb and a little bit more color. The poses don’t annoy me in this case, which is rare, because usually poses like these really annoy me.
The sleeves are a bit much but overall I think she looks great! Awesome legs!
Whenever I see a pic of her I can’t help but think of that Family Guy episode where call her “scrunch-face” and make her look like an armadillo sucking up ants. So funny, because its so true.
