Poor Tori Spelling and her downtrodden husband, Dean McDermott. Whenever they go to events now they have to network hard so that they can get acting gigs on Lifetime. They look tired and miserable at this benefit for the Much Love animal rescue. Tori was honored for her work as "Much Love [Animal Resue's] most dedicated famous face." That joke just wrote itself!
She also adopted two "Much Love" rescue dogs. Aww. She doesn't look pregnant in this dress, as is the rumor now that she's registered for a bunch of posh baby stuff. Her stomach's showing and it's hardly puffing out.
Tori is so poor now that she can't afford to get her roots dyed.

Ludacris recently got rid of his trademark braids to prepare for the release of his new, more mature album. He says that people don't really know who he is as a person and that his music now reflects his more serious concerns:
Bridges says the album, “Release Therapy,” is a clear departure that tackles more serious issues like the government and its response to Hurricane Katrina, being a father to his daughter, Karma, and his relationship with God.
“It’s a lot of things that I’m speaking on that I’ve never talked about,” he says. “I felt like people knew who Ludacris was, but people never knew who Chris Bridges was.”
Ludacris has been known for his comedic style, and this is a departure for him. He is also making a name for himself as an actor with roles in "Crash" and "Hustle and Flow."
Now Ludacris is showing how mature and kind he really is. Hewent to the prom with a young fan who is wheelchair-bound:
These quotes make it seem like it's coming up, but prom season was a few months ago, so I did a little research and found out that this happened in 2004. The news must be resurfacing now because of a recent interview. Whatever the reason, that was quite kind of Ludacris and it doesn't seem like he did it for the recognition. It turns out Ludacris has a whole charitable foundation (site has automatic music) that's dedicated to helping young people achieve their dreams.
I have an auto-immune disorder like MS and have to use a wheelchair when I'm having a bad relapse. It's a very humbling experience and people do stare at you as if you don't exist and can't see them. Others look away right away as if it's too painful for them to have to think about a young person who's disabled. (The best way to deal with someone in a wheelchair is just to look if you're curious, but not stare. If you catch someone's eye, smile at them. Don't pity someone just because they have a disability.)
I'm really lucky because most of the time I can get around fine and even exercise, and I've only been sick for a few years. I would never suggest that needing a wheelchair for periods of time is the same as needing one permanently, but If I had this when I was in high school, I totally would have tried to get Matt Damon to take me to the prom. Is that dishonest?

Hero Matthew McConaughey, who routinely saves kittens, children, and swooning middle-aged women from the brink of death, is auctioning off his 1971 Corvette Stingray Convertible on eBay to benefit Oprah's Angel Network charity. Notice how all the "G"s are removed from the ends of words in the item description to make McConaughey's quotes more believable. It looks like a search and replace job:
"I’ve gone to Mexico & back in it, driven across Texas in it...lotta late night drives...take off at midnight and get on the open highway with the top down...top was very seldom up in my drives. Enough room in the trunk for one persons back pack, or two for real light travel."[via]"I admire and enjoy this car, but it’s a luxury that I’m willin to relinquish at this point because I am fortunate enough to have everythin I need, and the sale of it will help so many with the necessities in life...part of stayin connected with an on-goin cause to help those in need for the long term...besides, I can’t pull my Airstream with it!"
With so many hours of drive time, the car's going to have that authentic McConaughey smell that even the most thorough detailing job won't be able to eliminate.
Here are pictures of the car from eBay and some photos of McConaughey arriving at the ESPY awards on July 12th. [via] He looks like he went biking with Lance and Jake beforehand. If you can't grow a full beard, don't bother.

Brad Pitt says that having children is his biggest accomplishment, and that it keeps him from focusing on his hair and hot body. Speaking to Anne Curry of the Today Show, he said:
I can't do justice to it anymore than any other parent can. You feel that you want to be there and you don't want to miss out on anything. And it's a true joy. And you want to be there for them if they need anything. It's a true joy."
"[Having children is the] best thing I ever did. You know, you can write a book, you can make a movie, you can draw, paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on. And, man, if I can get a burp out of that [baby], that little thing, I'll feel such a sense of accomplishment.:"
He is sponsoring a $100,000 contest to design a 12-unit apartment building in the most eco-friendly way possible, and hopes to bring awareness to the need to rebuild New Orleans while preserving the environment.
Here's a video of the Today segment:
Brad Pitt always seemed rather bland to me, but it's good to see him bringing awareness to important causes, and I definitely agree that being a parent is amazing. The Jolie-Pitts seem to have struck the best balance between being in the spotlight without having people get sick of them. If only they would hire a less aggresive security force.
Here are pictures of the interview courtesy of Just Jared. There are also photos from his press conference on Friday in New Orleans from CelebGuru.

Pamela Anderson is on an European tour to raise money and awareness for animal rights and AIDS. She appeared at Stella McCartney's boutique in London yesterday to speak out for PETA against fur. Anderson held a party and awards show for celebrities who have worked with PETA. Gillian Anderson and Sadie Frost, Jude Law's ex, were in attendance. She promised that if she raised enough money for PETA she would strip naked in the shop window, and she didn't dissapoint - except for the thong.
"I'm here to hopefully raise a lot of money and if we raise enough I'll strip naked in the shop window.
Frost added: "I've always been an animal lover. People should be made aware of all the issues. Some people think that the whole wearing fur thing is glamorous but you can look good without it. Hopefully people will stop wearing it.”
Redknapp also showed her support for PETA saying: "It's something I feel very strongly about. If you can put a fur jacket on you should be able to watch the animal being slaughtered so I'm really behind Peta's work.”
I do eat meat but I feel the same way about fur. I would like to talk smack to people wearing fur, but the only people I see wearing it are really old ladies who don't seem to know better.
Along with Beyonce and J.Lo, another "celebrity" who wears fur with false pride is Sharon Stone. PETA would attack her, but she's such a has-been that she's under their radar.
Here is Anderson in the shop window of Stella McCartney's London boutique on 6/28 [via] and in Greece for MAC's AIDS fund on 6/26. [via]
What's wrong with Anderson's left arm? She has red marks on it that don't look healthy. Is that related to hepatitis or just a weird bruise?
The poster of these pictures from Greece at Saving Face, dexterangelo7, notes that they're an "amazing comparison of airbrushed vs. real life pam."

Michael Jackson and Paris Hilton should start their own phony foundation, because they've both been caught pledging money to charity and not paying up.
Jackson recorded a song called "What more can I give?" which was supposed to benefit the families of 9/11 victims. The answer to the song title is "not much," because he never released that song or another "charity" tune he claimed would aid Katrina victims. He planned to give CD sales profits to charity, but wanted to retain full copyright and legal rights to the songs, which would have made him a fortune in residuals.
These details came out in a lawsuit against Jackson by a business associate who claims Jackson owes him more than $3 million for loans and fees related to producing television shows on his behalf. Jackson says the guy who is suing him has a quarter million dollars worth of his sculptures and art, but if his claims are true would you blame him for snagging some of Jackson's paintings in exchange for not getting paid?
Two years ago Paris Hilton pledged to organize a concert to benefit an Australian charity for sick children. She never followed through or gave a donation. She ignored the charity's attempts to contact her, and managed to screw them out of even more money by falsely stating that she was helping them, causing people to think they had a donation windfall, and significantly decreasing their contributions:
Sounds like Michael Jackson and Paris Hilton only want to get rich and hoard it by buying loads of worthless shit for themselves. Who would have guessed that about them?
There are always a shitload of pictures of Paris, which is why I snuck her worthless ass into this story about Michael Jackson. I threw most of the new pictures of her into a post yesterday about her fight with Lindsay Lohan, but here's her near nipple-slip outside the Regis and Kelly show again in case you missed it.

We are bleeding heart liberals, and even we think this is dumb. Barbra Streisand says she's going to tour for the first time in 12 years to bring awareness to the causes she's interested in. And, get this, she will give "designated proceeds" to charity - her own charity. She doesn't give an exact percentage or amount of course:
The tour follows the release of her latest album, "Guilty Pleasures," last September. In 2004, Streisand marked her return to the big screen, co-starring in the Ben Stiller comedy, "Meet the Fockers."
If you're going to give money to charity, you should say exactly how much. It's going to Babs' own damn foundation, so you think she could commit to an amount if she's going to put out a press release about it. She could earn up to $2 million a night for this tour, so it's not like she can't afford it.
Just like Heather Mills, Barbara Streisand has a snotty "Myth vs. Truth" section on her official website. Of course she should dispute inaccurate reports, but she does it in such an over-the-top self-satisfied way that it makes her seem reactionary.
On her website Streisand doesn't address a NY Daily News report that she didn't pay for tickets at a Malibu Movie theater with her husband, James Brolin. Stresiand sucked up to the young guy at the counter to avoid having to pay less than $20 to get in. Her publicist defended the cheapskate move, saying comping celebrities is a "professional courtesy that many theaters extend to film stars."
Streisand will play 20 concerts in the US in October and November of this year.
Update: I actually read through several of the "Myth vs. Truth" sections of Babs' website, and they're not that over-the-top. The problem I have is with the name of the section coupled with the riduculous design of her website. It features a pink content area on a black background and has a dumb picture of Streisand holding roses while sitting on a pink silk chair as the header image. She should shell out the money to hire a more modern designer. Oh wait - she's too cheap. Been there. Worked for those people. (Oh, I have this lovely picture I'd like to put on the top of every page. Could you blow it up too and make it the background?)

Robbie Williams' team, "England," won the Soccer Aid benefit for the United Nations Children's Fund last weekend. Williams' opponents, the "Rest of the World" team, were lead by Gordon Ramsay. Each team was made up of ten celebrities with six World Cup soccer greats. Argentinian football great Diego Maradona played for the "Rest of the World" team, but they still lost to "England":
A sell-out crowd of 75,000 fans was at Old Trafford to watch the match, with millions expected to tune in to watch the game live on ITV1.
The England team, captained by Williams and managed by Terry Venables, also included former England internationals Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes, Tony Adams, David Seaman, and Bryan Robson alongside TV stars Jamie Theakston and Angus Deayton.
Ramsay's team included former Argentina international Diego Maradona, former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola and Tony Blair's former spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
Here's a highlight video of the goals:
We made fun of Wiliams for getting caught smoking last week after he pledged to quit for the sake of his team, but he pulled off a win anyway. This isn't Williams' first time working for UNICEF. He's been a UN Ambassador since 2000.

Angelina and Brad are supposedly making a documentary of their adventures in Africa post-Shiloh to help African causes. This sounds like BS and the source is The Sun, but maybe it's true:
And they will allow their four-day-old daughter SHILOH NOUVEL to be filmed for the documentary too — along with their two adopted youngsters Maddox and Zahara.
A source close to the couple said: “Brad and Angelina want to put out a serious social documentary about all the great things the country has to offer.
“Angelina is in love with Namibia and wants fans to learn more about it and experience what she has experienced.
“Maddox is in the film along with Zahara, and they have agreed to include some footage of their new baby.
“They know that any documentary which includes anything personal about their lives will help them get their message across.”
They're so secretive that we doubt this is true. We'll believe it when we see it.
Columnist Liz Smith of the NY Post says that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie didn't top the Yahoo! buzz list this holiday weekend, and that they're fools for sequestering themselves in Namibia since they're only increasing the value of photographs:
By having Shiloh in Namibia Angelina did bring a lot of publicity to African causes, and she achieved some privacy through the brute force of the Namibian government and her own nasty security guards. It looks like she achieved her goal after all. Releasing a video doesn't sound like something she would bother with.

A columnist for Britian's The Guardian discusses Internet commentary on Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt's odd name.
Shiloh is a hebrew name of course, but it could mean several different things:
"Nouvel," which means "New" in French, should be spelled "Nouvelle," its French feminine form, since it's part of a girl's name. Brad and Angelina may have made the grammatical error deliberately, though:
This makes sense, since Brad loves architecture and has admitted it's one of his passions.
Brad is also narrating a show for PBS on environmentally friendly architecture called "Design: E2." It will air in June.
A commentor on "A Socialite's Life" noted that Pitt also gave Zahara her middle name, Marley:
Angelina should have let Brad name the baby, since Nouvel is a much prettier name - and much easier to pronounce - than Shiloh.
In related news, Angelina and Brad are showing their gratitude to Namibia by donating $300,000 to benefit the country's state-run maternity wards. Their newborn has been offered Namibian citizenship from the grateful government.
Here are some pictures courtesy of JustJared that were probably taken at the World Economic Forum with a cameraphone. Until they come back to the states, scrounging for old low-res pictures is probably as good as it gets.
Update: pictures are from the Mr. and Mrs. Smith set during a break from filming.

Singer Robbie Williams told everyone that he quit smoking in order to shape up for the British celebrity soccer tournament, "Soccer Aid." The Sun reported it on 5/21 as it was real news:
Despite being teetotal and quitting drugs, the wicked weed is one habit he has not been able to kick.
But the prospect of his celeb England team taking on Gordon Ramsay’s Rest of the World squad for charity has finally made Robbie chuck away the cigs for good.
Corrie star Bradley Walsh, who is on Rob’s team, revealed: “We are calling him ‘No Cigs Robbie’.
“He’s taking this very, very seriously and will do anything it takes to win.
“And we will win. Gordon couldn’t even beat us at swearing, never mind footie.”
Ex-Take That star Robbie, 32, once confessed he would like to quit smoking — but was too scared of piling on the pounds.
He said: “The thing is, I’m a fat bloke inside this body and the minute I stop smoking, I’ll get even bigger.
“It looks like I can’t give up until my fame runs out. Then I can be a healthy Robbie Nobody.”
Williams looks pretty gulty to be caught smoking outside the reception for the upcoming game yesterday. He must be more afraid of dealing with withdrawl and gaining weight than letting his team down.
"Soccer Aid" is a fund raiser for UNICEF. Robbie Williams leads the team for England, with the "Rest of the World" team lead by Gordon Ramsay. Teams match ten celebrities with six World Cup soccer greats. Argentinian football great Diego Maradona has joined the "Rest of the World" team. Coverage is on Britain's ITV (launches automatic sound), and Robbie's team won the first match last night. The final game airs on Saturday at 7:00 pm
A deal has been struck for the first pictures of the anticipated Jolie-Pitt baby. Britian's Daily Mirror is set to report that an unnamed publication has agreed to pay £2.6million for the pictures, with the proceeds to go to UNICEF. £2.6million pounds is $4.89 million dollars USD. That's incredible.
A source revealed: "They've signed a £2.6million deal with a publication and the money will go to children's charity UNICEF.
"Angelina's very private but they figured they might as well use the opportunity of one child being born to help a lot of others."
Meanwhile Pitt's family says there's no hard feelings about Angelina deciding to give birth in Africa, and that they honestly like her. If these quotes from Brad's brother are geniune, the family does admit that Brad's Mom still talks to his sore loser of an ex, Jennifer Aniston:
But Brad's brother Doug says the family are glued to the phone in America waiting for the news.
"We all want to help them get through the birth in any way we can," Doug says. "We just want them to enjoy it and to know we're all thinking of them."
That's not to say there's no friction - Brad's very unhappy that mum Jane is still close to his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
Doug said: "He feels mum should move on and cut the link. But mum's in a difficult position, she has great affection for Jennifer..."
Doug revealed they were planning a trip to Paris for a "family vacation", prompting speculation that Brangelina will return to the city after the birth.
That's a phenomenal sum for some baby pictures, but it will be the most famous baby in the world.
The picture above is of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt impersonators and was run in NY Magazine. It must have sold plenty of copies even without the real thing.
Little Suri Cruise still hasn't been seen by the press. Her pictures are worth a healthy sum, but surely not as much as the Jolie-Pitt baby.

On Monday we reported that it looked like Jessica Alba had a nose job based on HQs of her at two different events last week. She was at the premiere of "An Inconvenient Truth" last night, and her nose still looks different than it did at the ALMA awards, but not dramatically so.
We checked out earlier pictures of Alba, and it seems like the lighting at the ALMA awards was particularly unflattering.
She could be using some alternate method to shrink her nose, as was mentioned in the article we sourced. If she did have work done, it was subtle. At this point we don't think she had a nose job.
Here is Alba at the ALMA awards, and at premiere of "An Inconvenient Truth" in LA. "An Inconvenient Truth" is a documentary about global warming featuring president Al Gore:
Alba is concerned about the environment and drives a hybrid Prius. You can do your part by walking and riding your bike whenever possible, replacing your lightbulbs with energy star efficient bulbs, and reusing plastic bags. Minor changes do make a difference.
A rich British businessman put in an over six figure bid to win a one-minute kiss with supermodel Kate Moss in a charity auction. Instead of taking the kiss for himself, he gave it Hugh Grant's girlfriend to the delight of men everywhere:
That's hot and we hope the video comes out! It would be a lot more interesting than Kate snorting coke.

Alias is ending on May 22nd, and Jennifer Garner has said that she's looking forward to some time off with her nearly six month-old daughter, Violet. She may not have much time to rest, because she's negotiating for a role in The Kingdom, a political thriller:
Garner made headlines last week with her charity work with hurricane Katrina victims. She toured New Orleans with Reese Witherspoon and Cicely Tyson, and was brought to tears by a children's performance:
It's good of her to lend her celebrity to the cause, and more government resources and effort should be put into support for Katrina victims. Many were without adequate housing for months.
Garner has said that Alias had a good run, but that she is sad to leave her character behind.
Whatever she does next, Garner is sure to do well. She's a positive, friendly person and doesn't take her success for granted.
Here she is outside The Late Show last night, and in New Orleans with Reese Witherspoon. There is also a scan from People magazine about their trip. [via]

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were rumored to be having relationship trouble, as reported by The National Enquirer at the beginning of the month. We mentioned that it didn't seem true to us.
Kidman and Urban seem to be doing well, becaue they made a rare public appearance together on Saturday at a United Nations Development Fund for Women event. Nicole Kidman serves as a goodwill ambassador and hosted the event, a 30th anniversary celebration for the organization:
"Commemorating UNIFEM's 30th anniversary is a special opportunity for me to bring UNIFEM's accomplishments to the attention of a larger audience of concerned citizens," said Ms Kidman, as she welcomed a packed room of almost 500 guests.
"So many people have come together this evening, not just to look back on UNIFEM's 30 very impressive years but to look ahead - when you've been blessed with a fortunate life, it is very much your duty to find the places where you can give back. I'm so proud to be part of UNIFEM's present and future."
UNIFEM aims to "foster women's empowerment and gender equality" through programs supporting women throughout the world.
In the pictures of the event, there was no sign of the wedding ring that Nicole was spotted wearing while in the Hamptons at the end of April. She is wearing the engagement ring that she has been seen with at earlier events. It's also difficult to tell if she's pregnant, as has been widely rumored.
That's good news that Nicole and Keith are donig well, and we hope a wedding for the two will happen soon.
Oprah held her "Legends Ball" last night to honor the achievements of African-American women. Celebrities pictured include Oprah Winfrey, Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, Tyra Banks, Mariah Carey, Spike Lee, Diddy, Smokey Robinson, Pam Grier, Dionne Warwick, Gayle King, Cicely Tyson, Deborah Roberts, Antonio LA Reid , and Nate Berkus.
A two hour special featuring highlights from the 2005 Legends Ball will air on ABC this Monday:
In addition to the honorees, among those in attendance at the weekend's events were Halle Berry, Sidney Poitier, Angela Bassett, Tom Cruise, Barbra Streisand, Sen. Barack Obama, Maria Shriver and Quincy Jones.
In the pictures of the event, Janet Jackson looks fit and happy, and Mariah Carey looks pretty good even though she's wearing a stripper cut-out dress. 70s siren Pam Grier looks pretty bad, but I looked her up and she suffered from cancer in 1988 and was given 18 months to live. She was gorgeous in Jackie Brown in 1997. Hopefully she's on the road to recovery and will get a makeover soon.
In a charity auction for The Prince's Trust, a single yoga lesson with Gwyneth Paltrow went for £30,000, nearly $56,000 USD:
The Hollywood actress, 33, was stunned when told the amount.
The mum of Apple, two, and Moses, born last month, donated her time for a charity auction in aid of The Prince's Trust 30th anniversary.
Gwyneth... said: "Someone's spent a great deal of money on it so I'm going to have to really come up with an excellent plan." But she added: "Unfortunately I can't do it in the nude or anything to make it really exceptional but I will try and come up with a good plan for a yoga lesson."
We don't like Gwyneth much because she seems quite snotty, but reader Millie points out that she is super-nice to a friend of hers. Angelika also bashed us for bitching about Gwyneth's night out so soon after her second child was born.
Regardless it's nice that she's donating her time to a worthy cause. Gwyneth's one hour of time is worth much more than $56,000. She made $3.6 million for a three-minute cameo in the film Infamous, or $1.2 million per minute.

I want to dislike Teri Hatcher, I really do. In fact before I read the synopsis of her interview on the Oprah site I had the opinion that the woman can't snap out of her crybaby routine. After reading what she said and getting an idea of what she went through, I have to say that it kind of touched me. I hope that she can get some therapy and realize that she has it pretty good now and that the past is behind her.
She talked a lot about her childhood abuse and how painful the situation was. She also said that Ryan Seacrest dumped her after a couple of dates, and made it sound like she actually bought into the situation:
"It's such a non-story" Teri says. "All the things you read in the tabloids about me and men are really non-stories."
Teri says she and Ryan were set up by a mutual friend, and after two group dinners, they met for a lunch date at an out-of-the-way location. "Interestingly enough, I haven't seen him since that day," she says. "We knew that the [pictures] had been taken, which must have bothered him enough. An hour after he dropped me off, he called to say, 'I don't think I can do this with you.'"
She denied dating Clooney at all, and said that she only went on one date with him. She also said she doesn't use botox and talked about the fake hair and boob tape that everyone uses to look better on the red carpet.
She looks pretty bad in recent pictures so maybe she doesn't use botox and that's the problem. As for her relationship with Clooney, I really doubt that they only had one date. There were all sorts of rumors about that. Still, now that I discovered quotes from a personal trainer about Katie Holmes that were completely made up, I have a lot less faith in the gossip industry.
Hatcher has a new memoir out, called "Burnt Toast," in which she chronicles her sad love life. She reveals that she didn't have sex with her second husband on her honeymoon, and they only had sex once in the year her daughter was conceived.
Hatcher says she's now looking for love and wants lots of sex. As we pointed out earlier, this is not the way to go about it, but at least it will sell books.
Here she is on Oprah. There's a short video clip for the show on the Oprah website. (This is up as of today, May 3rd, and may be removed shortly)
Update: Video segment where Teri discusses the Ryan Seacrest situation.
When Paris and Stavros were shown on the Jumbotron at a Lakers game on Easter Sunday, she got booed by the crowd despite the fact that she was wearing a Lakers shirt:
Even though she went to a basketball game on Easter, Paris claims she's deeply religious:
It's not very Christian to diss people publicly, is it? Of course we wouldn't know.
Here she is with Courtney Love and her sister Nicky at the "Sober Day USA" Launch Party with The Brent Shapiro Foundation For Drug Awareness in Hollywood. Brent Shapiro was the 24 year-old son of famous attorney Robert Shapiro. He died of a drug overdose last year despite being sober for a year and a half and turning his life around. He died after drinking and taking just a half tab of ecstacy. The Brent Shapiro foundation aims to raise awareness about drug abuse and decrease the stigma associated with discussing the problem.
It looks like Courtney and Paris are exchanging numbers. No comment.
Update: Paris and Stavros have split. Again.
I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow because she's pretentious, so take my criticism or what it is - but why is she going out at night already? She just had a baby not even three weeks ago. Maybe she only popped out for a couple of hours, but newborns need to nurse about every 2-3 hours at that age. She could have pumped or he could be on formula, not that there's anything wrong with that. If she's nursing you're not supposed to introduce a bottle until they're a month old, though.
Yes, it's really snarky to criticize her for getting some time alone, but you know, she's so snotty and ungrateful that she deserves it.
Here she is at New York’s Food Bank Can-Do Awards Dinner on 4/25. Micheal Stipe was obviously there too. [via]

48 year-old Simmons, the founder of Def Jam records and owner of Phat Farm clothing, met his soon-to-be ex-wife Kimora when she was 17 and he was 35. They have two daughers, Ming Lee, 6, and and Aoki Lee Kyoko, 3 and a half.
Russell Simmons' relationship with 23 year-old model Denise Vasi is said to have hastened the end of his marriage. Russell and Kimora remain on friendly terms for the sake of their businesses, and Russell has publically encouraged Kimora to have an affair too.
Simmons apparently wasn't satisfied doing yoga with his lovely new girlfriend, because The NY Post reports that he was all over 20 22 year-old "America's Top Model" winner Naima Mora:
Simmons may have a penchant for young models, but does shows a sense of personal responsibility in his dealings with the public. He ran a hip-hop summit yesterday to try to teach financial matters to young people:
Some 2,200 people are expected to fill the Hammerstein Ballroom on West 34th Street starting at 1:30 p.m. to learn about saving, budgeting, credit cards, FICO scores and home and car ownership.
It's all part of Simmons' nationwide drive to harness the power of hip hop culture to teach money to young people.
While financial experts will be on hand to dole out hard-nosed information, Simmons is looking to his star presenters to rouse the crowd with their own rags to riches stories.
The Summit also touted a new pre-paid Visa card while expousing the dangers of personal credit.
Here are some pictures of Mora, the winner on season 4. There are also pictures of Russell Simmons at the First Hip Hop Summit on Financial Empowerment yesterday. Other attendees include Jinx, Nas, and LL Cool J.

Proving that her charity knows no bounds and is on a different level entirely than the lame attempts by her boyfriend to save the world, Angelina Jolie is planning to buy a country in Dubai and set it up for African refugees. The Bosh reports:
And the 55-year-old entrepreneur is selling parts of the 'world' to anyone rich enough to afford them. The 30-year-old actress, who is due to give birth early in May, is reportedly planning to turn her new purchase into a fair-trade paradise for hundreds of Africans.
A source said: "Angelina has been obsessed with Ethiopia ever since she adopted her second child Zahara from there. Her friends are very jealous of her purchase."
Jolie will also take out an ad in USA Today next week begging for the US to intervene in the long-standing genocide in The Sudan:
The US could have stepped in and stopped the violence in the Sudan long ago, but the neocons decided they wanted the oil in Iraq and choose to invent a genocide over there. Saddam Hussein may have gassed Kurds in the 80s, but US news outlets downplayed the event at the time. Now an actual genocide has been happening in The Sudan for about three years and no one is doing a thing about it. Saving hundreds of thousands of lives would have cost a fraction of the total of the Iraq war, but no one has given it any attention. Ironically that's why we pay attention to celebrities. It's easier than dealing with the tragedy and hypocrisy of the real world, and we're just as guilty as anyone.
Brad is gearing up his own philanthropic efforts. He will join "environmental group Global Green USA to sponsor a competition that will choose architects to rebuild parts of hurricane-devastated New Orleans."

Matt Damon stars in a new PBS special about the environment that airs tonight at 9pm, "The State of the Planet's Wildlife". Damon warns about the coming "sixth extinction" that is being hastened by human overconsumption and the rapid depletion of the earth's resources:
The earth is no stranger to such disasters, the most recent of which was the "fifth extinction" that unfolded some 65 million years ago. It resulted from an asteroid strike that sent aloft a sun-blocking cloud of ash that doomed 75 percent of the planet's species.
This time, according to the show, the chief agent of destruction is man, who may be even deadlier than celestial bombardment.
"While there have been other extinction crises, this will be a dramatic alteration that will fundamentally threaten the future of humanity," says Bob Cook of the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Damon files disturbing dispatches from around the globe, augmented by testimony from conservationists and activists. During a visit to a teeming Shanghai market, we learn that the Chinese now consume more meat than even porcine America — one-third of the world's output, in fact.
Many celebrities, including Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, and Jessica Alba drive hybrid cars and are concerned about the environment. There's a very good, and very scary reason why.
You can do your part by reusing plastic bags, walking and riding your bike when possible, and using energy-friendly long lasting light bulbs. Every little bit does count.
Damon is known for his political activism. He signed a petition for Artists United to Win without War to protest against the illegal pre-emptive attack on Iraq. He also included references to Howard Zinn's book about everyday people exploited throughout history, "A People's History of the United States," in his movie, Good Will Hunting.

Lindsay Lohan will pull an Angelina and visit local schools and clinics in Kenya as part of a charity trip with Bono's One Campaign:
"As with Brad Pitt and other celeb visits, it'll likely focus on where America is helping make a difference to save and change lives," One Campaign spokesperson Meighan Stone said, citing schools, clinics and microcredit efforts to help Africans build their own businesses. A date for the trip has yet to be determined.
Lohan has plenty to do in the next few months. She has four movies finished which are due for release, "Just My Luck," "Bobby," "A Prarie Home Companion," and "Chapter 27," and will be shooting two more.
Interesting that this news was released a day after the story of the Lindsay and Jessica Simpson catfight. Lohan is said to have made Jessica Simpson cry in that incident, and has been dating 37 year-old director Brett Ratner this week.
Here is Lohan out shopping on Wednesday.

Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons attended a benefit together despite the fact that Kimora's representative confirmed at the end of March that they're splitting. Russell has admitted an ongoing affair with gorgeous model Denise Vasi, but stated that he's still friendly with Kimora for the sake of their children and business empire.
They put on a happy face at their annual Art for Life Benefit in Palm Beach this weekend, and Russell's new girlfriend was not seen at the event. Still things were a bit straned for the two:
"Things between Russell and Kimora seemed strained," according to one guest. "She showed up late and left right after she was finished speaking onstage."
Also at the party was Star Jones without her husband Al Reynolds. Star was said to be feeling her new boobs all night:
Here are photos from the benefit, with guests pictured including Gayle King, Star Jones, Sammy Sosa, Venus Williams and Antonio LA Reid.

Elizabeth Hurley, Ashley Judd, breast cancer survivor Anastacia, and Elton John and his partner David Furnish were among the attendees at "The Very Hot Pink Party" in New York last night. Proceeds went to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Elton John and Tony Bennett performed.
Elizabeth Hurley is launching her own line of swimsuits and has just signed up to represent the handbag firm, Lancel.
Elton John has done a lot of charity work recently. He cleaned out his closets to donate more than 10,000 items with the proceeds to benefit his Aids foundation.
Here are the photos from the benefit. Ashley Judd is shown with her husband of five years, Italian racecar driver Dario Francitti. Elton John's partner David Furnish escorted Elizabeth Hurley to the event.

Teri Hatcher broke down and cried at a press conference in Beverly Hills yesterday. She cohosted the press conference with former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to announce the 3rd annual Women's World Awards. Gorbachev seemed more interested in her breasts than what she was saying.
Hatcher got emotional when talking about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child:
She was referring to a recent Vanity Fair interview in which she said she was molested by her uncle when she was 5 years old and living in Sunnyvale. When she learned in 2002 that a 14-year-old victim of her uncle had committed suicide, Hatcher approached Santa Clara County prosecutors.
After Hatcher came forward, the uncle, Richard Hayes Stone, pleaded guilty to four counts of child molestation in the case of the 14-year-old victim and received 14 years in prison.
“There are many women who suffer with these traumatic experiences their whole lives, and they keep those things a secret,” Hatcher said, her eyes welling with tears. “They spend some of their lives feeling that the fault of things that have happened to them was something that they caused.
“These experiences ... leave us with a choice, a choice to use our experiences to enlighten and empower and change people’s lives, and that is a choice I am getting behind.”
You can hardly blame her for crying, and it's brave of her to speak out. We were going to point out that she looks like Janice Dickinson here, but considering the sensitivity of the topic that would be cruel.

Now that Michael Douglas is wearing a beard to hide his surgery scars, he's trying to make it the fashion by badgering other men about their grooming habits:
Although he doesn't understand the young male's psyche, Douglas insists he's not jealous of younger men. He adds, "A lot of these guys use me as an example of who they'd like to have a career like - which is flattering - but I'm getting tired of this sort of respectfulness they give me. When they start calling me Mr. Douglas, I'm like, 'Hey! Shut the f**k up!'"
No, Douglas, you shut the fuck up. Just because you're getting old doesn't mean you have to complain about younger men. You've surely used some cosmetics in your day.
Douglas was in NY last night to lend his support to the UN's fight against landmines at a lavish fundraising dinner. He presented the Adopt-A-Minefield’s humanitarian award to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Douglas' wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, must be getting sick of the crap he says because she wasn't at the dinner with him. Jones is filming "Mostly Martha" in NY and is presumably in the same town. Both Jones and her husband were said to be attending the dinner in earlier reports.
Here is Douglas at the UN dinner last night. He is pictured with Kofi Annan and musician Moby.

Brad Pitt narrates a new PBS documentary, Rx for Child Survival - A Global Health Challenge, about people saving lives through healthcare initiatives.
In an interview published in TV Guide, Pitt emphasizes the program's intention - that we can all help out in small but measurable ways:
Did you learn anything from Rx for Survival? I did. I learned about how simple some of the solutions can be, like adding vitamin A to a child's diet prevents river blindness. As the documentary shows, vitamin A costs 2 cents for a dose. A bed net [to prevent malaria] is a third the price of a CD. These things aren't out of reach.
Are you planning any more humanitarian trips right now? What's next? No. My plan right now is to have a child.
Brad helps bring us from the fantasy world of Paris' lazy eye to the reality of children needing basic medical care and supplies.
We don't think it was just Bono who inspired his charity work, though.
The Rx for Change Website offers ways to help out:

Star Jones famously got a large portion of her sham wedding ceremony to Al Reynolds comped. Now she doesn't want to pay for stripping-focused exercise lessons, since she's not going to need them anyway:
Obviously Jones is up to her old tricks and thinks that her dim star power is enough to get her anything she wants. She should just be canned from The View already and become a spokesperson because she doesn't have many career options left.
By all accounts, Jones' return to the View after the health scare she suffered from breast lift surgery was unremarkable. Jones brought some falsies in for her co-hosts, saying she no longer needed them, and admitted that she did have a scare on the operating table. She continued to downplay the threat to her health though and insisted that she was "eating bacon and eggs" the next morning. Jones seemed to get along fine with Joy Behar after their snotty exchange on the phone over the air. The two must have been making a special effort.
Jones was honored by Dress for Success at the Marriot Marquis in NY last night. Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that provides secondhand business attire and interview tips to disadvantaged women. Jones must be considered a wonderful example for women afraid to ask for charity.
Here's Jones in what's probably a borrowed dress at the Dress for Success event last night.

Jennifer Love Hewitt volunteered to take brownies to old people as part of a marketing bid by Betty Crocker. She got involved with "Bake and Take Day" which hopes to inspire people to make food for others in their community. It really is a nice idea, and we're just being snotty. The press release is a bit self-congratulatory, though:
Betty Crocker and Hewitt hope to inspire others to bake their favorite items and take them to the elderly, sick or needy in their community, and to encourage people to make a difference by getting involved with organizations like Project Angel Food, senior care centers, and other institutions.
We know Jennifer Love Hewitt is a kind, decent person because she listens to old people talk about their dead relatives and does lots of volunteer work.

Angelina Jolie wants to write her life story, and will focus on her role as a mother and include stories from other mothers around the world:
The source added, "She also wants to include memoirs from all mothers she has met around the world and got to know. She's going to include stories about the orphans that she's met, and she's hoping it will encourage people to adopt and help others understand why she travels and is so active as a goodwill ambassador."
That's a great idea and it's sure to be a best seller. Angelina has used her fame to bring awareness to important causes and by highlighting the role of mothers, her new book should make a difference.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is filming "Mostly Martha" in NY. "Mostly Martha" is a remake of a 2001 German film of the same name. I've seen the original. It's a thoughtful film about a single female chef who cares for her niece after her sister dies. The chef is a workaholic who avoids relationships and tries to express her emotions through cooking. Hopefully the remake will be as good as its predecessor.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and her husband, Michael Douglas, are the latest celebrities to lend their star power to a cause for the United Nations. They will attend a UN dinner on April 4th to raise funds for landmine removal.

Paris Hilton got all choked up in an interview while describing the earth-shattering experience of opening her closet to a 16 year-old girl in remission from thyroid cancer:
I mean just the look in their eye when you just meet them, I mean how happy and grateful they are, there's nothing like it."
You can watch the video here, and see for yourself when Paris starts to fake cry - right at the point when she's describing "the look in their eye when you just meet them." Yes Paris, it's overwhelming to be so adored. (Paris needs more attention, watch this video of her taking her own picture over and over again.)
Paris opened her heart and her closet to Amber, who was celebrating her 16th birthday the next day, saying things like, "lets find you a hot outfit for your birthday," "you love it," and "you like this."
Later the two went shopping on Rodeo drive. Amber said it was her dream to meet Paris Hilton and she called the day "amazing."
It is nice of Hilton to volunteer for the Make a Wish foundation, and we're glad she found someone who can appreciate exactly what she has to offer. [via]

Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, performed in a one-night-only theater benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at the The New Victory Theater in NY last night. Sting looked like his mind was elsewhere as he posed with his wife at the event. With the news that he's opening a strip club with David Bowie and is keen to get invited to high-class sex parties, you can bet their relationship is less than stable.

A red-headed Robin Williams and Muhammad Ali joked around yesterday at Celebrity Fight Night 12 at the Marriot Desert Resort in Phoenix, AZ. Reba McEntire hosted the event, which featured live celebrity performances with proceeds to benefit the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
Muhammad Ali is doing well, and reports that he was gravely ill last fall were exaggerated:
"It's remarkable," said Jimmy Walker, a Valley businessman who will join Ali tonight (5 p.m.) for a 10th year in a fund-raiser at the Marriott Desert Ridge Resort. "He's doing this for the 10th time without ever missing it."
Nobody disputes that Parkinson's has taken an inevitable toll on Ali, 64, who is expected to move into a new home in Paradise Valley within a couple of months. But the dire reports that began circulating last October turned out to be exaggerated, like much of the legend surrounding Ali.
"He's giving it his very best," said Walker, who has raised about $30 million for Parkinson's research through the annual event.
Ali was recently honored at the November, 2005 grand opening of the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY.

Jessica Simpson brought her trout pout to Congress yesterday to hold a press conference on behalf of the charity she represents, Operation Smile. Jessica Simpson was supposed to attend a Republican fund raiser to bring awareness to the charity she half-assed represents, Operation Smile. Now she's pulled out, saying she didn't want to politicize the charity by associating it with the Republicans:
The reason for the decline was Simpson's concern about politicizing her favorite charity. The final decision came after a day of back and forth reports from her camp and event organizers.
This is the woman who complimented Interior Secretary Gale Norton for the White House's decor, so you know this was not her idea. Someone at Operation Smile knows that the administration is not well liked and wants to make sure they're not tied to the Bushies through Jessica's much-publicized appearance.
It's funny, though, that the headlines read: "Jessica Simpson snubs Bush." With an approval rating in the mid 30s, Bush cannot afford to be snubbed by a daft celebrity.

The article is long-winded without mentioning a source, and this may not be true. It is characteristic of Jolie's way of announcing information to the press, though. She confirmed pregnancy rumors by letting Haitian charity Yele Haiti sell her bump pictures for $400,000 to People Magazine.

Sienna Miller took some time off from attacking paparazzi to attend a benefit in her hometown of London. She is at a ball for The Starlight Children's Foundation, which grants wishes for seriously ill children.
She's helping a worthy charity and that's commendable, but she's still wearing those goddamn awful shapeless frocks. This dress at least has a partially fitted top, but that doesn't make it fashionable. Someone should seriously help her clean up her style.

Jennifer Love Hewitt feels sorry for her troubled fans, and spends an inordinate amount of time listening to their problems and trying to help them. She's especially bothered when she can't channel her on-screen character, the ghost whisperer, to help widows speak to their dead husbands:
She explains, "... a part of me really feels bad that I can't help these people. "I had this woman come up to me and she was so sweet, she was probably 75 and we're sitting there talking and she's telling me how on Friday nights she gets together with her husband and they hold hands on the couch and they eat their favourite meal and they watch the show and how she never misses it and she loves it. "Like 20 minutes into the conversation, I realised that her husband was dead. "She likes the show because she thinks her husband comes to spend time with her then, but I was broken-hearted because I didn't know how to be the Ghost Whisperer in real life. "I was like, 'What do I do?' You can't fake your way through something like that. It was really hard."
JLove spoke to a crazy old woman for 20 minutes, and instead of walking away annoyed, she felt guilty that she couldn't help her! Honey, no one can help someone who thinks they watch TV with their dead spouse.
