Mary-Kate Olsen’s bodyguard tells all & it’s not as bad as you might expect

My favorite gossip rag, the National Enquirer, has a new cover story featuring inside stories of Mary-Kate Olsen’s excesses from one of her ex bodyguards. It’s pretty much what you’d expect given the stories that have been floating about her and the many photos of the scruffier twin drunk off her ass. Mary-Kate likes to smoke pot, drink to the point where she has to be carried, and hangs out with people who do harder drugs like cocaine and ecstasy. It sounds like all the bodyguard is personally attesting to is Mary-Kate smoking pot and drinking way more than her tiny body can take. She also wouldn’t eat when she was a teenager and would just drink a lot of clear booze mixed with fruit juice:

“About two years ago, I watched Mary-Kate smoke a marijuana joint and pass it on to friends when they were all at a party together,” the bodyguard told The Enquirer.

“Then there were her friends who definitely did drugs. I especially remember three hangers-on, two guys and a girl. I would call them drug dealers.

“I saw them with cocaine, and they also tried to provide it to other people. I also saw them with ‘Pures,’ which are tablets like Ecstasy…

“Because she’s so tiny, a little booze would have a big effect on her,” the bodyguard revealed.

“Colleagues told me that on at least two occasions she had so much to drink that she had to be carried to her car.”…

“Even in high school, she liked to drink vodka with fruit juice or mixer. Mary-Kate would get so blasted that her sister Ashley would pull her aside and tell her to stop,” a close friend divulged.

“When she was 16, her weight dropped below 80 pounds… I remember Ashley telling me at the time ‘Mary-Kate just won’t eat. My family is going nuts! We didn’t know what to do, so we put her in the hospital.’

“We’d try to get her to eat, but she’d only get mad and growl, ‘Just leave me alone! If I’m not hungry, I’m not hungry.’

“Mary Kate also smoked cigarettes constantly and she filled up on alcohol. She’d drink anything available – Jack Daniel’s, vodka, whatever.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, August 25, 2008]

The Enquirer goes on to say that Mary-Kate went to rehab at the age of 18 for a cocaine addiction along with anorexia and that she checked out early when her friends and family wanted her to stay for another month.

Olsen is now 22 and is guarding her privacy like those Starbucks cups she seems to be clutching in about half the photographs you see of her. She refused to testify in the federal investigation into Heath Ledger’s death without being granted immunity from prosecution, but the case was ultimately dropped and Mary-Kate was let off the hook. It’s telling that her bodyguard would only say he saw her do pot and drink and that it was her friends who were doing drugs. Maybe she wasn’t into the hard stuff or he wasn’t willing to say too much against her even though the interview was anonymous.

Mary-Kate still looks out of it in a lot of photos you see of her, but she’s not scary skinny anymore and that’s something.

MK smoked a joint – quick everybody PANIC! πŸ™„

  2. JB says:

I have a problem with her being so drunk she had to be carried to her car! What great friends to help her get behind the wheel!!!

  3. CelebitchyFAN says:

JB, do you think MK even knows how to drive? I’m sure she had a driver, she probably can’t even reach the pedals on a Smart Car.

  4. Nan says:

Ecstasy totally kills your appetite. It used to be used as a weight loss drug. MDMA, I think. E, as it is known, is so damn addictive. I would never seek out cocaine myself but if it was there, I’d do it. E made me feel how others felt on cocaine. Being at a club in Manhattan until 2pm on a Sunday when everyone is rolling on their 4th hit, dancing to deep, progressive house & just being so ‘loving’ is something I do not regret. Becoming scary skinny, as a result…I do regret. Stretch marks.

So it’s true, she’s a big-time hard drug user. We all know that pot is the gateway drug and it will SURELY cause you to run over a child in the drive thru & then get pregnant & drop out of school to live in your mom’s basement. Also causes fits of giggling, relaxation, peacefulness and the munchies. This is awful! Somebody call the cops!

Damn, couldn’t he find something juicier to spill the beans about? She’s a bazillionaire and all she does is drink, smoke pot & ciggs, and WATCH people doing other drugs. Snore… πŸ™„

  6. lunachick says:

I used to do ecstasy as well, and I loved the stuff. I made friends while on it that I have to this day (I haven’t done E in at least 6 years.)

Dancing all night – it’s just more fun than anything.

For me, though, I did not find it addictive. I loved how it made me feel, but if you take it more often than one night every other week, it doesn’t work as well. And it’s not something you crave -the day after I took it, I’d just feel chill – I didn’t feel like I wanted more (and if I took more, as noted above, it wouldn’t work very well anyway.)

I did lose weight during my “party years” for sure…like Nan said you don’t want to eat while you’re on it (unless it’s a blow pop or something), and dancing on it is so much fun you just blast calories all night long.

Dancing is part of that whole lifestyle, too, though – many evenings we’d go out and dance all night completely sober (no alcohol or anything -that just made me feel sloppy and not as good of a dancer.)

  7. Codzilla says:

Hated ecstasy. I’m super mellow by nature, so this stuff just set off a major battle in my head. Do I sit? Do I pace? Do I dance? But I can’t dance! Should I dance anyway? And on and on …

  8. Snowblood says:

@ Codzilla – πŸ˜† That was hilarious! I totally know what you mean.

And Nan, I SO want to party with you someday! You’re absolutely fascinating, FASCinating! 8) Lucky you, too, to get to live & work in Manhattan. Yeah, I have L.A., but New York is like – the apex, like the smarter, cooler older sister to L.A. I can’t afford to live in New York, I mean L.A.’s expensive enough as it is, but you Manhattanites, you’ve really got the life! So cool…

I’m starting to believe the Enquirer is pretty damn reliable. First the Edwards thing, now this. Granted, a lot late, but wow.

It did say that she was put in rehab when she was 18 for cocaine, and her reps said it was an eating disorder. I can tell you without a doubt, that when she was at NYU coke is what she was doing.

  10. Snowblood says:

@ Hello – “when she was at NYU coke is what she was doing.” That I absolutely believe. She never stopped, did she? I mean, she gives me a real wealthy=young-party-girl vibe, maybe that’s why I like her – she’s not goody-two-shoes, at all. I like Mary Kate Olsen.

I think MaryKate herself probably instructed/paid this ex-bodyguard to contact the tabloids with this story, in order to be proactive about the gossiping about her and give just enough to make it believeable, but not too much so as to keep her truer more hard-core party-self within her tight circle of close friends only.

Celebrities do this kind of thing constantly, call tabloids to feed stories in order to execute some kind of pro-active damage control to their reputaions with the general public. They (celebs) will also call tabloids to drop negative gossip-bites about their competition/celeb enemies, too, when they’re feeling especially bitchy or when they’ve got something to gain by taking down their “enemy’s” reps a notch via the tabloids.

  11. Bodhi says:

Ugh, I only did E a few times & I could feel my brain die. I mean, it was fun at the time, but still…

Coke, however, is whole nother story. I loved it. I still love it. Which is why I don’t do it anymore.

I’ve no doubt that MK is a party girl. Hell, if I had that money I’d still be a party girl. There are any real revelations in the bodyguard’s story.

  12. Jinxy says:

I don’t think she’s ever driven either. I mean she could afford hand controls on a car, due to leg lack, but honestly does anyone here believe she could stay sober at the DMV long enough to take the road test? I.think.not.

  13. Ciao Bambina says:

At 4 feet and 11 inches, I’m sure that I’m at least as short, if not shorter, than either of the twins. (Although at 103 lbs, they’d call me Fatty McFatterson.) Anyway, every day I drive a big ol’ F150 longbed super crewcab p.u., no hand controls, no pedal blocks, no problem. And so could she.

BUT, if I had a zillion-kagillion dollars, I wouldn’t drive another mile again in my life. Or walk to my car either, for that matter. So why should MK?

  14. Snowblood says:

A Ciao Bambina, (love your screenname BTW,) and Jinxy – I bet she doesn’t know how to drive a car, or if she does, it’s only a rudimentary sort of knowledge, like kids growing up on a farm get once in a while when Granddad lets them drive the combine. I’m seriously willing to bet that one or both of the twins don’t even have a driver’s license yet, either for New York OR California. And why should they? They’ve been driven around from place to point their whole lives, in more ways than the obvious. πŸ˜•

@ Bodhi, πŸ˜† , right? – “Coke, however, is whole nother story. I loved it. I still love it. Which is why I don’t do it anymore.” Me too & me neither, who can afford a Peruvian Marching Powder habit? That sh*t’s not cheap, and definitely too much fun to just dabble in once in a blue moon. MK’s a fish swimming in far deeper financial waters than most of us here, though, plus she’s hella young, so she can completely afford it – for now.

  15. Bodhi says:

Snowy~ Fo sho. She is rich as all hell, all money burns…

  16. Ethan says:

Sounds like the “source” is her or at least she was trying t clear her name that way.

We all know she did/does drugs, so talking about pot is actually making her sound better.

We all know about her rehab and eating disorder- so no news there, but he makes her sound o.k. by repeating “dirt” that we already knew and making sure we know she doesn’t do drugs (“only her friends”).

Yeah right. That’s why she insisted on immunity.
Beacuse only her friends did those drugs.
    Whatever.

  17. Julia says:

Yeah, no matter how fun E sounds, it sure as hell isn’t worth what it does: releases lots of chemicals in your brain that are in a limited supply. Know what that means? That you do too much at once, or over time, or have a bad reaction, and you can literally spend the rest of your life unable to feel happy. Like depression but worse, because antidepressants can’t fix it. They can regulate the reuptake of chemicals that are secreted, but if there isn’t any more of it left to secrete, no dice. So, ya know, maybe dancing all night doesn’t have to come with such a stupid risk.

  18. Snowblood says:

Ethan, did you just read everything others noted here about MK and this story, then regurgitate what you’d read into your own words? Because there’s a few people around here who do that, and it bugs the living lohan outta me. For real.

If you want to back up or reiterate what someone else here has already stated, why not quote the writer you read your idea from? It’s common courtesy! I’ve given you the same respectful courtesy a few times before, but now you – oh, whatever. Peh. πŸ™„

  19. Cari says:

This lil troll had something to do with Ledger’s death…It’s painfully obvious she provided him with the drugs that killed him and then covered it up before the cops could get there.. The reason that its not being pursued anymore is because she is a billionaire and money talks (allowing her not to)… Its such B.S. because if she was a nobody the police would have dragged her ass down to be interrogated on the 1st day.. Instead she played cat and mouse for months and finally got totally off the hook w/o even being questioned.. I hope she gets her karma soon…

  20. mollination says:

Snowblood, do you have a myspace or a facebook? I want to ask you about something that you posted on a while ago. πŸ˜€

  21. Snowblood says:

Hi, Mollination! No, but I’ve got my e-mail, you can ask Celebitchy or JayBird or MSat for my email address, and I give them my permission to give it to you, then we can communicate via e-mail, O.K. ?

  22. riley says:

those full house kids sure turned out great πŸ™‚ one went to rehab for meth, one went for cocaine and alcohol… the oldest one turned out good though I think

  23. mollination says:

riley, yeah the oldest one actually turned into a harcore-christian (along with her brother, Kirk Cameron) and had a bunch of kids. I don’t think it’s coincidence that it was the youngest ones who had trouble, whereas the oldest one probably just missed the age-range for child star syndrom.

K, Snowblood, I asked them. I’ll let ya’ know if they reply πŸ˜€

  24. paris herpes says:

I really like that shirt she’s wearing. Long stripey shirts are the shit! I’m not surprised she drank, she always looks totally drunk and high. Poor thing!

  25. paris herpes says:

MK knows where it’s at – the cannibus is jah friend!

  26. Orangejulius says:

No, no, no to the coke. All that ever did for me (apart from cleaning my house from top to bottom) was make me pace around – GIVE ME MORE!!!!!!! I’m a nervous wreck, but WHERE CAN I GET MORE!!!

  27. Ethan says:

OMG snowblood, I can think for myself thank you very much, and that was MY OWN opinion that I stated without even reading what other people have said.

It is not the first time I have stated my views about her and Heath’s death.

  28. Someone says:

Her lawyer says that she’s never done illegal drugs. If MK would lie about that, who knows what she did to Heath Ledger. 😐

  29. MK lover says:

She is so hot…I’d love to kiss every inch of her body from head to toe no matter what she smoked or drank or swallowed or snorted…mmmmkay!

  30. Anthony says:

I’d smoke her out…actually, she should smoke me out cuz she is ballin and probably has good smoke!!

  31. im so glad im not famous…i feel bad for some of these people however i feel they should accept responsibility for their stupid actions

  32. Head Shops says:

    I feel the same way
